'Degrassi: Next Class' explores gender fluidity in fourth season

  • Yael Baron (Jamie Bloch) came out as gender fluid this season. Yael uses they/their pronouns and the other characters respect that decision (for the most part). The character of Yael seems to be nonbinary and gender fluid.

  • An exec producer, Stephen Sohn, explains why the series decided to include this plot: "It’s an ongoing story. We’ve seen it in America. Not necessarily the kind of gender fluidity in and of itself that we are portraying, but the more non-binary kind of spectrum. With [what’s happening in North Carolina with the bathroom bill], and [more] people coming out as transgender, the whole discussion has really changed over the years and there’s confusion out there about what [being gender fluid] is. And not just it, there’s a whole bunch of different variations."

  • Also: the character Miles finally said he is bisexual.



This is just an excuse to discuss the recent season that was released this past Friday on Netflix. Thoughts?

Ricky Reed, who worked on the record alongside the pop star, spoke to PEOPLE magazine about Rainbow, where he shared that“some of the most emotional experiences I’ve had in the studio have been with Kesha.”

“I mean, the world is not ready for the music that she’s making right now. It’s heart-stopping; I think it’s gonna change the world,” he added.

“She’s channeled so many experiences into just some of the most honest and powerful songs that I’ve ever been a part of,” Reed continued of their collaboration.“I really think the world of her, and also, I can’t wait for the world to hear her sing the way she’s been singing in my studio. It really is a very, very special album. I’m just so honored to be a part of it.”

Rainbow is due out August 11.

Yass! Daniel Craig ‘To Return As James Bond’ For The Fifth Time

Despite the rumours that have suggested otherwise, it has been reported that Daniel Craig will be returning as James Bond for the fifth time.

According to The Mirror, Craig, who has been playing 007 since 2006’s hit film Casino Royale, has reached an agreement with producer Barbara Broccoli to star in Bond 25.

Filming is currently planned to star next year meaning the release date is likely to be in 2019.


An anonymous source told The Mirror:

"Craig and Adele together are the winning team, the ultimate choice, the money spinners.

It’s taken time but Daniel has come round and the strong consensus in the Bond offices is that Mr Craig is 007 again.

As for Adele, she’s more of an unknown quantity but loved being part of Bond, so the signs are positive."

  • According to the police statement LaBeouf approached someone to ask for a cigarette and when he wasn't given one he began loudly swearing in front of women and children

  • A cop came by and asked him to leave, when he refused they tried to arrest him and he tried to hide, running into a hotel lobby where he was arrested anyway

  • He is now out of $7000 bail

And since this is a post about the elusive chanteuse, let me take you on a little trip down memory lane and remind you what makes Paula such a captivating performer of today and yesterday.



Paula opened the 1990 American Music Awards with possibly her best performance ever, featuring stunts, non-stop dancing and even a remote control mechanical platform. Enjoy!





The song that got it all started of course was Straight Up which you can see performed in Japan as a part of her 'Under My Spell' 1992 tour.



Paula also garnered an impressive videography, often working with future Oscar-winner David Fincher. In the clip for 'Cold Hearted' Paula gives us her riskiest choreography yet while the video also serves as a middle finger to the rigid music industry executives and artistic censorship!



Although it received criticism at the time, Paula's 1991 VMA performance for Vibeology showcases her dancing and stage presence as well as her live vocals as the singer decided to sing live to address reports that she wasn't the one singing her records.



Proving she's still got it, Paula performed on the 15th season of Dancing with the Stars and danced her way through four no1 hits, mixing live choreography and recorded video in the process.
