Fantastic Four favourite Jessica Alba is dishing diktats on how to be a supermom, the latest in a kitchen chorus of Hollywood stars ladling out their secrets to domestic paradise. Alba insists she practises what she preaches - all without relying on hired help.
The News says glossy photos of Alba in her book show her always looking fabulous, whether wiping the kitchen counter or playing with her daughters in the family's backyard pirate ship. As well as her baby-food recipes, she has included a formula for hair rinses using full-fat Greek yogurt, coffee grinds and raw cane sugar.
But in a city legendary for its "New York minute" impatience, many Big Apple mothers questioned where they would possibly get the time to follow some of Alba's advice. Samantha Willner, 22, from the suburb of Astoria, drew the line at home-prepared baby food. "Who, especially in New York, has time for something like that?" she said.
"I don't think anyone who's an average person has any of the resources: Time, money or, quite frankly, the patience."
And Frances Cabrera, 26, told the tabloid that Alba is overreacting by calling for plastics to be left outside: "Plastics are just not off-gassing that way. It's not something a normal person would have to worry about."
Her central theme is clean-living and eliminating toxins, especially those lurking in plastics and cleaning supplies. She recommends, for instance, leaving plastics outside for a few days so they will "off-gas" the worst of their chemicals.
"Many people don't even realize that there is lead in their lipstick, or that petrochemicals in your laundry detergent could be making you sick," she says.
Meanwhile, Paltrow has taken heat over her new cookbook, It's All Good: Delicious, Easy Recipes That Will Make You Look Good and Feel Great, with critics calling it weird and neurotic.
The actress and singer, who has two children with Coldplay front-man Chris Martin, advocates a menu that cuts out processed foods, tomatoes, meat, wheat, deepwater fish, shellfish, eggs, sugar, coffee and alcohol.
The New York Post lambasted Paltrow's "weird obsession," saying her book "reads like the manifesto to some sort of creepy healthy-girl sorority with members who use beet juice rather than permanent marker to circle the 'problem areas' on each other's bodies."
The Atlantic Wire said: "It's All Good seems to take laughable Hollywood neuroticism about eating to the next level."
the best part <3: "Alba says her guide is more down to earth: 'Gwyneth Paltrow probably lives a very similar lifestyle, but I didn't grow up with a bunch of money so my tips are much more grounded: Repurposing things and making things at home.'"
Queen of Equality June Shannon blessed us peasants with a beautiful blog post about her going to the GLAAD awards. She's looking fabulous!
"let the red carpet transformation begin I'm getting excited will posted pics soon excited we r nominated for a award its a huge honor for us cause we r big supporters of the gay and lesbian community i feel everyone should b treated equal but im missing my side kick alana and the rest of the family and its snowing"
Sorry mods, didn't realize I mucked up the post last time!
"There's something strange and disturbing about the whole relationship."
The Twilight actor is talking about the two characters at the heart of his new film, The Rover, which finished shooting on Saturday in outback South Australia.
He plays a young man, Rey, caught up in an uneasy, dangerous alliance with a stranger, Eric (Guy Pearce), in a not-too-distant future.
The Rover is the much-anticipated new film from David Michod, the writer-director of Animal Kingdom. The title refers to Pearce's character: damaged, solitary, utterly without hope.
Pattinson has been casting his net widely since his lead role in the wildly successful Twilight movies brought him celebrity and a certain amount of paparazzi attention. He's quick and sometimes self-deprecating, and has a surprisingly hearty laugh. Looking for roles post-Twilight, he says, "I don't know if I'm necessarily any good at sculpting a career or anything. But I know what I want to do."
He wanted to be part of The Rover because "it was an original script and it was one of those parts where you read it and you think, I'd love to do this, but I know I'm never going to get it." There, "already self-defeating before I've even started", he says.
In this film, he's a long way from the debonair 19th-century Frenchman of Bel Ami or the New York billionaire of Cosmopolis, two of his recent roles. The near-future that Rey inhabits has a broken-down, improvised, desperate feel, and Pattinson's appearance is in keeping: unkempt and unshaven, with make-up that discolours his teeth.
Rey is an American who has come to Australia with his brother. He is, Pattinson says, "the kind of person who has been brought up to believe they're incapable of living independently. Someone has always been looking after him." When he's separated from his brother, "almost the first person that comes along, he grabs them. It doesn't matter how he gets treated." And Eric treats him very badly at first.
The Rover was shot over seven weeks, ending with more than a fortnight in the remote small town of Marree, 685 kilometres north of Adelaide, whose population of 90 more than doubled with the presence of the movie crew. Almost every part of Marree has been incorporated into the world of the movie. The filmmakers said it felt like their own Hollywood studio backlot.
The Rover takes place in an "unspecified relatively near future, after a number of years of quite seriously steady Western economic decline,"; Michod says. "It's not post-apocalypse. This is an Australia that has broken down into a kind of resource-rich Third World country.
He did not start with the idea of this near-future, but with the enigmatic, shifting relationship between the two central characters. He wrote the role of Eric for Pearce, but did not start thinking about Pattinson until they met in Los Angeles.
He had not - and still has not - seen any of the Twilight films, but had been told that Pattinson was interesting. He found Pattinson was "really smart, and not the sort of pretty boy I was expecting. As soon as it was time to start testing; he was my first choice, by a long way."
BIRDMAN Pays Weezy a Visit
Lil Wayne's latest hospital visitor was perhaps his most important: his mentor ... Birdman. The rap stars are as close as close can be, so much so that Birdman calls Wayne "his son." Birdman famously gave Wayne $1,000,000 in cash on his 26th birthday.
Wayne -- who has been in the hospital since suffering multiple seizures earlier this week -- has also received visits from Drake and Los Angeles Clippers star Chris Paul.
Birdman tweeted after Wayne's health scare last night, saying, "My son is feelin Good.will be home real soon."

Ti Tmz Lil Wayne
T.I. blasted TMZ after the news site appeared to get the Lil Wayne story wrong.
TMZ initially reported that Wayne was being given "his last rites," but they have since removed that from their story. At the time of this writing, TMZ has not posted a correction or notice that their earlier story was amended.
Family members and close affiliates of Wayne immediately took to Twitter to dispute TMZ's reporting.
TI's tweets on the matter -- posted just after he stepped off stage at the South by Southwest music festival, where he was performing at the FADER Fort -- are available below. (Please note that the tweets include graphic language and that the time stamps are incorrect -- these tweets were posted at 9:54 pm on March 15.)
Justin Timberlake is rumoured to release ‘The 20/20 Experience: Volume 2′ in November according to QuestLove from The Roots, who’s performed on Jimmy Fallon with Timberlake last night. QuestLove revealed the news while he was responding to a review of JT’s album.
He posted: ‘spoiler alert. 20/20 Vol 2 comes out in nov. (10 songs now…..10 songs later= 20 vision)’
It makes sense when you relate it to the album title, so I’m very excited about this news if it’s true.

Gucci Mane Kicks Waka Flocka Flame Out of Label Bricksquad
As we know, Deb Atney's (Waka's mom) has been managing both Waka and Gucci Mane since their careers took off. They're like two peas in momager's pod. But no so fast.
Last night, Waka went on Twitter to publicly diss his good friend Gucci over some Brick Squad label drama. And the reasons are unknown.
Gucci let the world know HE dropped Waka off the Brick Squad label saying, "Waka flacka flames officially dropped off brick squad 1017. Big Guwop say give me a offer fa this disloyal lil nigga."
Waka responded with, “Somebody tell Gucci Mane 2 SUCK A D**K.” Then erased the tweet and said, "Can’t tweet beef #HucciKnowHowIrOck"
Miss Info revealed that Gucci's manager said Gucci's Twitter was...you guessed it...HACKED. Sigh. Meanwhile, Waka released his mixtape DuFlocka Rant 2 just minutes after this whole Twitbeef went down. And Gucci dropped his Trap Back 2 mixtape at the same time. How convenient.
But considering Gucci threatened to change his name a few weeks ago (what celebs often do to get out of contracts), we have to wonder if he's plotting his escape from Deb Antney's management as well. We all know how she and her son like to pop off when folks try to do their own thing....
This is pretty much the tale that Stodden weaved for two young girls who were interviewing people at a pre-Oscars gifting suite. We don’t know why any of them were there and we don’t care. Because the girls’ reactions are priceless.
When they asked Courtney (whom they might not have even recognized, we can only hope) how she got her “big break,” the peroxide blonde giggled and replied, “My 52-year-old husband!”
After the possibly confused and contemplative young girls nodded in response, she continued, “I don’t know if you’re familiar with my story. I was 16 years old when I married a 50-year-old man.”
Source 1, 2 and 3
I couldn't find any pictures from it but the same night of the picture set Courtney apparently walked her first runway for Shekhar Rahate Haute Couture. You can see the horror and confusion on the faces of those girls in the video though.
The release of "Jobs," the first film about Apple co-founder Steve Jobs since his death in 2011, has been pushed back, its creators said today.
The film -- which was set for an April 19 release -- will now be released at another time, and likely for marketing reasons, says The Hollywood Reporter.
The film, which is not to be confused with a separate production penned by "The Social Network" and "The West Wing" writer Aaron Sorkin, stars Ashton Kutcher as Jobs. The movie covers the years 1971 through 2000. That bit of Jobs' history includes the founding of Apple, as well as his ouster, the forming of NeXT and Pixar, and then his return to the company when Apple acquired NeXT.
"Jobs", which was originally called "jOBS," premiered at this year's Sundance Film Festival, where it received mixed reviews. Many critics found fault in the story but not necessarily Kutcher's performance as the iconic CEO. You can read CNET's review here.
Along with Kutcher, the movie stars Matthew Modine as former Apple CEO John Sculley, Josh Gad as Apple co-founder Steve Wozniak, and "The Help" star Ahna O'Reilly playing Chris-Ann Brennan, Jobs' girlfriend and the mother of his daughter Lisa. Other cast members include J.K. Simmons and Kevin Dunn, who will play venture capitalist Arthur Rock and former Apple CEO Gil Amelio, respectively, and Lesley Ann Warren as Jobs' mother Clara.
Kutcher and Gad appeared at this year's Macworld conference to promote the picture shortly after its Sundance debut. Gad noted that he was swayed to join the project after receiving a lengthly call from Kutcher, and proceeded to take computer programming courses to get into character. Since then, there has been no official trailer for the film, and its official movie Web site appears to still be under construction.
OMG MISS SCARLETT AS HIS MOM?! OMG OMG OMG. But I wonder...will the film show how he was a hypocritical asshole to everyone and how he rejected his daughter? Also I don't buy Kutcher as Jobs, but...an asshole playing an asshole. Oy...
Paget Brewster has announced her engagement to long time boyfriend, Steve Damstra!
Nearly two months after coming out as an item, the star and her much younger beau, Sean Stewart, have called it quits, E! News confirms.
"Adrienne would brag to her girlfriends that she was having the best sex of her life," a source says. So it does come as a surprise that they’ve broken up! "It's over and she broke up with him," a source close to Stewart said. "She needs a man."
A source says: “She and Sean definitely had an amazing spark, but it fizzled fast. They had a talk and, while they really care for each other, decided they would be better as friends. He was just a great guy who was making her laugh and forget about her past dramas.”
The source also added that the 20-year age gap was just too much for Maloof and created issues in the relationship, saying, "She just finally saw through that."
In January, six months after her divorce from husband Paul Nassif went public, a photo of the 51-year-old accepting a kiss on the cheek from 32-year-old Sean surfaced, causing dating rumors to swirl.
"She is casually dating him," a source told E! News at the time. "They both come from the world of entertainment and understand all that comes with it. He has said age is just a number and it's very sexist to think that a man could date younger, but if a woman does it's a big deal."
Adrienne Maloof should really think about not watching the upcoming Real Housewives of Beverly Hills two-part reunion special.
As we all know by now, Sean Stewart's former girlfriend Maloof was a no-show for the taping. "She stiffed me," Bravo's Andy Cohen told me while at SXSW for Watch What Happens Live.
Cohen said he had "a hint" she wasn't going to be there.
"I was not pleased," he said. "Also, I feel it was bad for her because, why let six women have the last word on an entire season? I think she should have been there to speak her mind, and she may be surprised with some of the directions the conversations took."
Expect to see some heated moments. "It was explosive in a Beverly Hills way, which was a very sophisticated conversation with bows and arrows and daggers being thrown but everyone staying seated," Cohen said. "You know, not a hair out of place."
Spanx, a company that’s so successful it made founder Sara Blakely the youngest self-made female billionaire in the world, filed suit March 5 against Real Housewife Heather Thomson and her Yummie Tummie brand slimmers. The suit comes in response to a cease-and-desist letter from Thomson's attorneys on Jan. 18. The letter claims Spanx ripped off Thomson's patented three-panel design for slimming camisoles, according to the lawsuit against Times Three Clothier, LLC, which operates Yummie Tummie.
"They have copied my original idea which really was a game-changer for shapewear," Thomson told TODAY Wednesday.
In its lawsuit filed in Atlanta federal court, Spanx argues its tanks and camisoles have unspecified “significant differences” from Yummie Tummie’s design.
"Spanx designed our original shaping camisole in 2005 long before Yummie Tummie in 2008,” the statement reads. “Spanx has had countless imitators through the years. Anyone can make a claim, but it doesn’t mean it has merit. Spanx has not infringed on any valid patent, and we will continue to make fabulous products for our loyal fans."
Thomson told WWD that she first learned of the product this past November when she received an anonymous package containing the Spanx Total Taming Tank and a note saying it was on sale at QVC. "I immediately recognized it as my original Yummie Tummie tank,” Thomson told WWD. The unsigned note said Spanx was selling it at QVC. A spokeswoman for Thomson declined to comment further.
A personal letter dated March 14 from Thomson to Blakely, posted to the Yummie website, said, “We brought this to your attention expecting you to stop. Instead you’ve chosen to sue us, no doubt thinking your massive company could intimidate ours. We have successfully enforced our design patents in the past and will continue to do so.”
“Sara, I truly expected more of you as a fellow entrepreneur,” the letter concludes.

Justin Timberlake made his big return to the music business earlier this year with "Suit & Tie," a collaboration with rapper Jay-Z. Now, Timberlake is hinting that there may be more where "Suit & Tie" came from.
"I was with [Timbaland] and we were working on some stuff for Miss Beyonce and she made the mistake of letting Jay and I have another room at the studio," Timberlake told BET this week. "I don't want to give too much away but we've done a lot of songs together so hopefully those will find a way to see the light of day."
If the duo does release a collaboration album, it won't be a first for Jay-Z. The rapper has released various collaboration albums over the years including work with R. Kelly and Linkin Park. Jay-Z's most recent album was 2011's "Watch the Throne" with Kanye West, which the duo promoted with a tour of the same name.
"Suit & Tie" is the first single off of Timberlake's new album, "The 20/20 Experience," which drops this week. Billboard reports the album is on track to sell 500,000 copies in its first week.
After the release of the album, Timberlake and Jay-Z will collaborate again for a summer tour, hitting cities across the U.S.
Speaking about his upcoming Legends of the Summer tour with Jay-Z, Timberlake added, "I'm really excited. He's the greatest."
Little Mix's Perrie: "I Feel Like A Piece Of Meat"
Little Mix singer Perrie Edwards has claimed she sometimes feels "like a piece of meat" when it comes to how she's viewed in the press.
The X Factor star made the comments during an interview with The Metro, when addressing her romance with One Direction heartthrob Zayn Malik. The 19-year old stated: "I don’t really like it… I feel like a piece of meat. To be honest, I'd rather not have the attention."
Speaking of the reaction to their relationship by Zayn's jealous fans, Perrie explained: "I don't think people should comment or gawp on who they think is hot. "I don't think men should be like that, or even women. I'm a person, not a lamb chop." Perrie and Zayn have been hit with split rumours since getting together, with the 1D heartthrob previously accused of cheating on the pink-haired popstress.
Little Mix Reveal That Their New Album Will Be More R&B Than DNA
Little Mix's debut album DNA is still one of our faves and is never off our mp3 player, but because we're really greedy and stuff we *really* want the next one to come out. And while we're waiting around impatiently and crossing out dates in our 1D diaries, the girls have been gossiping all about what we can expect from album 2. Yay. Our favourite colourful-haired cuties have let Digital Spy in on their new material, and we're so excited we're pretty much shaking and crying in our seats.
The gals told DS "We're starting the second album soon. It's come round so quickly! We managed to cover a lot of different sounds on this album, so our next one will be more defined and take it back to Little Mix's style." Well we're like the sound of this already. 'Lots of different sounds'? 'Little Mix's style'? *squeals* And the teasing didn't end there, as Professional Hair Idol and Beatboxer Extraordinnaire Jesy added "I personally want to put a lot more dancey stuff in there. As in, one of the songs that comes on in a club that makes you want to dance. Not that David Guetta sound, but more R&B - a bit like Eve and Gwen Stefani's 'Let Me Blow Your Mind'.
Little Mix: Welcome To USA Balloons!
The ladies of Little Mix hold onto some colorful balloons as they arrive at JFK airport in New York City on Friday afternoon (March 15).
The girls — Perrie Edwards, Jade Thirlwall, Leigh-Anne Pinnock and Jesy Nelson — were greeted by a group of fans who presented them with the fun balloons with “Welcome to N.Y.” written on them with their names.
“NYC babyyyyy :) so nice to see some of our American mixers as well! We love you guys thanks for the lovely greeting! :)” Leigh-Anne wrote on Twitter.
Actor Ariel Goldenberg's, from the movie 'Buddies', dream to meet Hollywood star Sean Penn came true on Friday (15), in Los Angeles. According to Marcelo Galvão, director of the movie, the brazilian went with his wife, Rita Pokk to Penn's house in Malibu Beach, unannounced and rang the doorbell.
"It was all a surprise. An american girl told us that those things aren't allowed there and she would call the police if we rang the doorbell. But the star himself answered and, since he knew the Vem Sean Penn (Come Sean Penn) campaign, he was very nice with Ariel," says the filmmaker, who stayed in Brazil due VISA issues and sent two assistants to follow the story.
"We knocked on the door with brawn and brain. I thought it was the worst deal ever, that we were crazy but he (Sean Penn) answered (the door)," said Carlos Cardinalli, friend of Ariel and Galvão who lives in San Diego and who's helping with the trip. "Penn invited him to walk on the beach and made a barbacue to Ariel, who was really happy."
The Hollywood star, according to the director, thought about travelling to Brazil to meet Ariel Goldenberg and the cast of "Buddies" but he didn't want his image tied to any kind of sponsorship.
"However, Penn took the certificate of the Oscar he won for 'Milk' off the wall, and gave it to Ariel with an autographed poster," reveals Galvão.
Starring a trio of actors with Down Syndrome (including Ariel Goldenberd and Rita Pokk), "Buddies" has been seen by over 96,000 people since it opened on theaters two weeks ago.

The Miami Heat stretched their win streak to 21 games (the third longest single-season streak in NBA history) with a comfortable 107-94 thrashing of the Milwaukee Bucks Friday night, meaning LeBron James was in high spirits. During a Chris Bosh postgame interview, James casually robot-danced his way into the camera frame.
Since it isn't worth debating whether or not LeBron James is the most valuable player anymore, the one real question remains: Is his robot dance better than his gyration at the scorer's table last week? Too close to call.

Gun violence has sadly become a norm on the streets of Chicago and it seems like every day we are hearing about more shootings in America’s fourth largest city.
On Monday, March 11, 6-month old Jonylah Watkins was shot, while her father was changing her diaper. Her father, Jonathan Watkins amazingly survived. But sadly Jonylah’s life was cut short after extensive surgery.
Chicago’s very own Lupe Fiasco has decided to step up and touch on the story in song. The Food & Liquor rapper released a tribute track entitled, “Jonylah Forever” to the 6-month old. Listen to the heartfelt song below.
Info on the shooting:
Jonylah Watkins was rushed to Comer Children's Hospital Monday afternoon in serious-to-critical condition after being shot in the 6500 block of South Maryland Avenue in the city's Woodlawn neighborhood around 12:48 p.m. Her father, Jonathan Watkins, had been changing her diaper in the front passenger seat of a Chevy Venture minivan when a gunman approached them and opened fire. He fled in a waiting van.
Mb>Jonylah had sustained wounds in her lung, liver, leg, shoulder and bowel or intestine, </b>according to DNAinfo Chicago, and had undergone at least five hours of surgery.
"This morning, the baby passed away," the Rev. Corey Brooks, who is acting as a spokesman for the family, told the Chicago Tribune. "We have another tragedy in the city of Chicago."
"The city of Chicago should be outraged that in our city a 6-month-old baby could be shot and killed," Brooks added Tuesday, according to DNAinfo.
Brooks told the Tribune his Woodlawn-based New Beginnings Church would offer up to a $5,000 reward for information leading to the arrest of Jonylah's killer. Another community group also agreed to chip in $1,000, bringing the total reward to $6,000.
Jonylah's father was also wounded in the shooting -- being struck in the side and buttocks, plus a graze wound to his cheek -- and was taken to Northwestern Memorial Hospital in serious-to-critical condition. According to NBC Chicago, he remains in critical condition as of Tuesday morning.
Jonathan Watkins told the Chicago Sun-Times Tuesday that he has no idea who opened fire on him and his child, but sources told the paper that the shooting was possibly prompted by an angry Facebook post.
Police say the father has known gang affiliations, a claim Police Superintendent Garry McCarthy took up in a Tuesday press conference, according to the Associated Press:
He said police weren't sure yet whether Watkins will decide to cooperate in the investigation. ... "No child, certainly not an infant, should be a victim of gang violence," McCarthy said. ... "He was obviously targeted," McCarthy said of Jonathan Watkins. Police were trying to determine whether a reported Facebook post threatening Watkins actually exists, McCarthy said.
Jonylah's mother, Judy Watkins, was previously shot while carrying the child. She was working at McDonald's at the time of the Monday shooting, according to the Tribune. Judy and Jonathan had recently gotten married.
