Yolanda Foster Slams Kyle Richards, Adrienne Maloof, Taylor Armstrong, and Faye Resnick!!!

Yolanda is not a fan of how Kyle has been dealing with Brandi and Adrienne's feud on The Real Housewives.

"Kyle never seems to take a strong position on anything or stand behind one particular person but rather tries to be everybody's best friend," Yolanda writes in her Bravo blog.

Yolanda wasn't impressed by what Adrienne had to say at Kyle's home during last week's episode. "It appears that Kyle and Mauricio are very close to the Maloofs, but Adrienne's words just don't hold a lot of value to me," she says.

"Adrienne says she would appreciate an apology from Brandi but in the meantime does not answer her calls and has her lawyers fighting her fight,".

Yolanda also didn't appreciate Taylor talking about her husband David's previous marriage during the episode.

"First of all, Taylor does not know me from Adam and second of all, she has never made an attempt to get to know me but rather gave me a cold shoulder and a bunch of attitude from the day I first came into this group. If she wants to have a little more insight into his marriage with her friend Linda, she might want to actually talk to David in person and get his perspective on their 20 years together."

And Yolanda isn't fond of the way that Taylor has been talking about her own late husband, Russell. "The way she refers to her husband's passing in such casual conversation is very sad and disheartening to me," Yolanda says.

“Now, who is this Faye, and more importantly, why is she not minding her own business? The minute Faye starts talking I just want to push the fast forward button. Every word that comes out of her mouth is so abrasive and feels like a violation," she wrote. "Because as far as I know, she seems to be of no importance in this group besides being Kyle's best friend."

Adrienne Dating Rod Stewart’s Son, Paul Is Cool With It!

Adrienne Maloof, 51, is dating Rod Stewart’s son, 31, and apparently her ex-husband Paul Nassif doesn’t mind in the least.

We reported earlier on the coupling of Maloof and Sean Stewart, which follows her recently-finalized divorce from husband of 10 years, Dr. Paul Nassif. Though the split was reportedly contentious, there doesn’t seem to be any bad blood between the two Real Housewives of Beverly Hills stars with Nassif telling TMZ “As long as she’s happy, that’s all I care about.”

Despite the 20-year age difference and allegations that the couple are merely “casual,” things seem to be moving pretty quickly between Maloof and Stewart, with Examiner reporting that she has already moved Stewart into her home.

“Age is just a number,” Maloof told Us Weekly. “It’s about how good of a person you are . . . [Sean] is a very funny guy. He’s very giving, he mentors at the mission, works with at-risk children, and gives his time and money to get children off the streets.”

Another source added: “He’s really good with her kids, and she thinks it’s fun to be with a younger guy.” However, they said, “It’s not serious with Sean, they’re having fun right now.”

Here’s the video of Dr. Paul Nassif talking to TMZ about his wife’s new beau, taking the high road when it comes to his kids and the Brandi Glanville feud, as well as admitting whether or not he’s still a fan of Rod Stewart:

Yolanda Lectures Worker: ‘You’ve Got To Learn English!’

While she meant well, Yolanda provided one of the more cringe-worthy moments on The Real Housewives on Monday, telling a laborer, “You’ve got to learn English!”

The Holland-born beauty gently grabbed the man’s shoulder and shared with him her own story as an immigrant trying to grasp the native tongue.

“You’re in America now – they speak English here,” Yolanda told the man. “You know when I come to America, I don’t speak no English, and all I know how to say is ‘Please’ and ‘Thank you,’ ‘Yes,’ ‘No.’

“But every night before I go to sleep I studied – so you do the same.”

While awkward, we watched the clip a few times over and have no doubt Yolanda was earnestly giving the man constructive criticism intended to help, not hurt.

Chris Brown Compares Himself to Jesus on the Cross After Frank Ocean Fight

Chris Brown is apparently feeling crucified by reports that he physically assaulted fellow R&B star Frank Ocean. On Monday, Jan. 28, the 23-year-old rapper posted a new photo on Instagram of Jesus on the cross, with a cryptic caption about his state of mind.

"Painting the way I feel today," he captioned the shot. "Though he seems to have a hard time taking his own advice, Brown also added, "Focus on what matters!"

The alleged altercation with Ocean, 24, occurred at a West Hollywood parking lot on Sunday, Jan. 28. The Los Angeles Sheriff's Department confirmed that "Chris Brown and the victim were involved in an altercation over a parking space. The altercation allegedly led to Chris Brown punching the victim.

"Got jumped by chris and a couple guys. lol," Ocean tweeted after the incident. "Cut my finger now I can't play w two hands at the Grammys."

Brown has never been very good at turning the other cheek and walking away from a fight. In July 2012, he denied reports that he made a homophobic slur against Ocean, who had recently revealed he was bisexual. The "Don't Wake Me Up" singer was involved in a brawl brow with rapper Drake in June 2012. The fight was reportedly over Rihanna, who Brown has recently reunited with after assaulting her in 2009.

Boy Meets World fans, meet your Girl: EW has exclusively learned that 11-year-old Rowan Blanchard will play the daughter of Cory (Ben Savage) and Topanga (Danielle Fishel) in the Disney Channel spin-off of Boy Meets World, titled Girl Meets World.

The Los Angeles-based actress — with credits in Spy Kids: All the Time in World in 4D and The Back-up Plan — was just notified tonight that she’d be playing the part of Cory and Topanga’s daughter Riley Matthews after a nationwide casting search. “As soon as Rowan walked into the room, I was reminded of why Ben Savage was loved as Cory Matthews,” says Michael Jacobs, who’s producing the Girl Meets World pilot. “Rowan is real and accessible and I am hopeful this girl is about to meet a world that will love growing up with her as well.”

It should be stressed, however, that the return to World is still a ways away: The pilot for Girl Meets World is set to begin production next month. If it gets greenlit to series (which is all but assured), expect this Girl to find her place on Disney Channel’s 2013-14 schedule.

Not Free Yet Shawn! Holley Files To Withdraw As Lindsay Lohan Attorney, But Judge Might Not Allow it

Lindsay Lohan‘s long suffering criminal defense attorney, Shawn Holley, has formally filed legal documents to withdraw her representation of the troubled starlet, but Judge Stephanie Sautner, who is dealing with Lohan’s most recent legal debacle, might not sign off on it, RadarOnline.com is exclusively reporting.

shawn-holley-lindsay1-640x386

“The paperwork has been submitted for Shawn to withdraw from representing Lindsay,” a source tells Radar. “However, it needs Judge Sautner’s approval before it becomes official. If she has any concerns that Lohan is having trouble obtaining new counsel, Judge Sautner could order Shawn to remain on the case until that situation is remedied.

“It appears that Lindsay’s new attorney, Mark Heller, who is New York City based, is currently in limbo when it comes to acquiring a law license that will allow him to practice in California. It’s not uncommon at all for a judge to NOT allow an attorney to break ties with a client during an ongoing case. It happens all the time.”

Heller has a checkered past and was suspended from practicing law for several years after being found guilty of professional misconduct.

The Mean Girls star has been ordered to appear in front of Judge Sautner on Wednesday in connection with charges of lying to cops following a car accident in Santa Monica last summer.

As RadarOnline.com previously reported, Lohan’s latest criminal case was recently transferred to her old court room adversary to oversee, something that may not bode well for the legally embattled 26-year-old.

Judge Sautner oversaw Lohan’s probation on her past necklace theft case, and sternly warned her at the end of their last encounter: “Live your life in a more mature way, stop the nightclubbing and focus on your work. I don’t expect to see you again. You know what you have to do.”

Meanwhile, Lohan still owes Holley a whopping $300k in unpaid legal fees!

I have to go goop.

It has been a while since I last posted about my darling Gwynniepoo and her adorably misguided jaunts into online retailory. As I'm sure you know, with the holiday season comes an endless barrage of black-tie, non-denominational soirees, gluten-free gefilte fish recipes and last-minute vaginal rejuvenations before the family arrives; not to mention a pesky little unplanned stay in Promises following a misunderstanding with the police investigators regarding my standard post-holiday cleanse and coke binge. Let's just say that spending New Year's Eve listening to LeAnn Rimes drunkenly extol the virtues of the late 90s soap Sunset Beach is no way to ring in the New Year, no matter how many Quaaludes you snuck in through your expertly bleached asshole. But not to worry my lovies, I have survived and thrived and I am back and bitchier than ever. So let us take this opportunity to openly and viciously mock everything that Gwyneth Paltrow stands for. Because we love her. And as my mother always said, when you love someone you mercilessly tear them down until they are nothing but an empty shell with rampant body dismorphia and a complete lack of empathy for others.

Gwynnie says to "use the best-selling Epi-Peel at the end of the day to exfoliate and follow with the super rich Quintessential Serum to moisturize." Long story short, you pay her $400 for a couple of little bottles of shit to rub on your face so that you too can look like the ghost of an alpaca.

Luckily, I am launching my own beauty regime...

Spending Valentine's Day alone...again? If you're a Gwyneth Paltrow fan, the chances are pretty good. So get comfy while watching Shakespeare in Love for the 900th time with the Denim Hue cropped sweatsuit! It has all of the comfort of a sweatpant with none of the style of a jean. The stretch and ease of movement will help you clean your cat's liter box and the ultra-washable fabric makes it easy to clean that awkward mix of chocolate and snot! And don't worry about the price, go ahead and splurge! It's not like you have to save for a wedding, no one is ever going to marry you!

Ever looked at your dusty, old Trapper Keeper and thought to yourself, this would be so much easier to write in if it was just wrapped in the carcass of a formerly living, breathing thing? I know, I know, haven't we all?!?! Unfortunately, for some reason, the notebooks we really dream of, (composition pads covered in the virgin skin of a young Moroccan street tough) are apparently still "technically" illegal in the US according to several of my attornies. But goop has come along with the next best thing, the custom leather notebook. Because nothing says "I really don't give a single fuck about people or animals" like spending $120 on a pad of paper covered in the remains of a dead animal.

And there we have it! A round up of all that goop currently has to offer! Thank you for reading and remember, if someone ever tries to pressure you into doing something you don't want to do, like eat Cup-a-Soup, just kill yourself because a life with added preservatives is not a life worth leading.

CW Passes on Amazon/Wonder Woman Pilot – For Now

$

The CW has passed on Amazon, the pilot that focused on Diana, the woman destined to become Wonder Woman, Deadline reports. The network has just completed its pilot orders for this season, and Amazon is not among them.

According to the outlet, the network has plans to “roll the Wonder Woman origin project to next season,” though it also notes that the CW, “may order an off-cycle pilot.”(NOOOOOOOO)

(I cannot...)

Earlier this month, CW president Mark Pedowitz spoke about the network's plans for Amazon, saying,“First off, we’re waiting to see the script. Second off, we’re busy casting for Diana as we speak. Hopefully the script works the way we want.” He added that Amazon was, “an origination story in the sense that Smallville was an origination story.”(fuck off)

Initial casting for the pilot began in November, and by the looks of things, the network has either not yet found its Wonder Woman, or is not happy with the script - or both. The project does remain a high priority for the CW, and Wonder Woman fans may take comfort in the notion that they, by all appearances, really do want to do her story justice. (They won't)

The CW has ordered pilots for the Vampire Diaries spinoff The Originals and a reboot of the cult British 1970s sci-fi series Tomorrow People from Arrow co-creator/executive producer Greg Berlanti and The Vampire Diaries co-creator/executive producer Julie Plec. More to come on that…

Good riddance. Her story will never be done justice. This is why we won't get a JLA movie either.

Why Miranda should write a fourth series...

Why_Miranda_should_write_a_fourth_series___-1
Miranda's long-awaited third series – warmly greeted by critics and telly fans alike – has been wonderfully, magnificently laugh-out-loud funny. But with Miranda Hart so in demand, and there being no official word from the BBC, rumour has it this might be the last we see of the sitcom...

But fans needn't despair just yet. Miranda recently tweeted co-star Tom Ellis (better known as love interest Gary), who's openly discussed the possibilty of series three being the last, saying: "Mr Ellis is not necessarily right that there will be no more show. @tomellis17 are you trying to put me out of work?!"

So there is still hope. And in case she's in need of a little persuasion, here are five reasons I think Miranda needs a fourth series...

We need cheering up.

It’s dark outside, it’s cold and some of us haven’t been paid since well before Christmas. Miranda’s Monday night fix of slapstick, silliness and "such fun" was the perfect antidote. What will we be left with now?! I mean, no offence to Lewis or Great British Menu, but they just don’t deliver the same feel good effect…

There’s not enough simple comedy on telly.

While I’m under no illusion that Miranda Hart, Patricia Hodge and co just turn up of a morning, fall over, pretend to be Heather Small and manage to make magic television in the process, there’s something so simple and straightforward about it.

Miranda might be Marmite TV and the critics among us may ask why her falling over episode after episode is so funny. But for those of us firmly in Team Miranda, I'd say "just giggle, don’t question it."

In her own way, Miranda is as groundbreaking as HBO’s Girls.

She might be falling off gates, eating too much cake and making vegetePALS rather than taking drugs, having shotgun weddings and sleeping with her best friend’s gay housemate… But Miranda’s flavour of comedy is just as refreshing.

Although the skits are exaggerated, underneath it all, our socially challenged and romantically awkward Miranda is unashamedly, unapologetically real.

It’s just too ‘what I call’ good.

We’ve already had to wait two years for just six – albeit glorious – episodes. We need more Miranda in our lives, not less. And it’s not just me who thinks so – the ratings don’t lie. And with around seven million of us silliness seekers tuning in every Monday night, it’d be mad not to make another series. Are you listening Miranda Hart?

She can’t leave it on that cliffhanger.

If it wasn’t enough that our romantically challenged heroine got plenty of snogs AND a boyfriend this series, as the credits rolled Miranda was left with two men on bended knee and a mother screaming "say yes!"

How could Hart just leave us hanging? What will her clumsy alter ego do? It’s all well and good telling us to "bear with", but there’s only so long we can wait to find out Miranda’s romantic fate…

Duggar Family Forms Pro-Life Coalition to Fight "Abortion Holocaust"

Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar of the popular TLC series 19 Kids and Counting are forming a coalition of pro-life groups to help fight against abortion.

The idea stems from their recent trip to the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum in Washington, DC; to the Duggars, abortion is itself a holocaust.

"A couple of weeks after we went to the Holocaust Museum it dawned on us that there is a holocaust taking place right here in America!" the Duggars wrote.

"More than 56 million lives have been destroyed in our country! That is over 4,000 babies being killed and 4,000 women being wounded each day!"

"We talked and prayed about what our family could do to make a difference in saving the lives of the unborn. We ended up contacting the national pro-life groups."

"We asked them to all work together and pool their incredible resources to motivate and activate many people to get involved in ending abortion in America."

The Duggars called Dan Pennell, CEO of WMtek, a Fort Pierce, Fla., based web development company, who immediately caught the vision, Jim Bob said.

Working with Jim Bob and Mathew Staver of Liberty Counsel, Dan formed the coalition of pro-life groups that has become what is now Life United.

Its partners: The Duggar family; LIFE International; L.E.A.R.N; Living Waters; Liberty Counsel; National Center for Life and Liberty; Family Research Council; The Justice Foundation.

"Life United exists not only to educate people with the reality of abortion in our generation, but to do something about it," the group said in a statement.

"Our partners have come together with their resources to create the tools that will help motivate and enable others to value and support human life."

“Americans are being forced to fund a Hitler-kind of killing machine," the group says, calling the last four decades "the 40 most bloody years in America."

"We are committed to end abortion in our lifetime. Abortion is the most senseless, inhumane form of child abuse one can imagine. It is time to restore a culture of life."

Swimmer Ryan Lochte shows off his hot physique on Instagram.

In case you forgot how hot Ryan Lochte's body was, here is a reminder.

lochte

The Olympic gold medalist stripped down to his undies posing in a teeny tiny pair of Polo Ralph Lauren briefs and posting this pic to his Instagram account on Saturday. "Do I look a lil tanner haha!," the 28-year-old athlete wrote. Yes, that must be it, he looks tanner. The reason for his public abtastic shot was to show-off his assets before he was about to "head to [an] ESPN shoot," he said. Lochte entered the limelight this past summer during the 2012 Olympics and the E! network recently signed him to a reality show set to air this April. "Ryan Lochte captured everyone's attention at the Summer Olympics with his athletic prowess and his utterly unique and unaffected approach to life," said E! Entertainment president Suzanne Kolb.

"He is an incredibly endearing personality who is sexy, entertaining and fun. Watching this show, I believe people will fall into three categories: They want to be him, sleep with him or mother him."

Lauren Conrad Covers 'Lucky' March 2013

$

Lauren Conrad exudes fun on the cover of Lucky magazine’s March 2013 issue, on newsstands February 5.

Here’s what the 26-year-old fashion designer had to share with the mag:

On what her and her boyfriend William Tell do on weekends: “Honestly, he studies all weekend and I’ve been working. I’m renovating a condo, so I’ve been spending my weekends shopping for home stuff at flea markets.”

On being a reality television actress in the fashion industry: “The TV show did not help my reputation very much. It was difficult to be taken seriously. But I think the fact that I went to school to study fashion and worked in the industry helped me. I think it’s a good thing to feel like you have to prove something, because you’re always going to have to work a little bit harder.”

On beauty advice she’s been given:“I can’t remember who told me this, but it was ‘Get your clothes tailored.’ Like most people, I used to wear clothing off the rack. But having them fitted to me makes a really big difference, especially with pieces like a cocktail dress. Little nips and tucks can take 10 pounds off you.”

On having kids one day: “I want kids, but not in the immediate future. All of my friends in their early 30s who just started having kids say, ‘Give it a few years.’

The last movie that made her cry:"This is really cheesy, but it was the Katy Perry movie. I saw it on a plane and started tearing up. The movie touched on her divorce and how she had to go up on stage every night. She’s crying as she goes up, and once the lights go on, she just smiles and pulls it off, and you’re like, wow!"

How do you learn not to care what people say about you?
At the end of the day it’s going to hurt your feelings if someone says something mean about you, but I’ve learned to take a step back and ask myself if it’s really going to affect me, if this person who I’m never going to know or meet doesn’t like me—and it doesn’t.

What would you consider your best accomplishment yet?
Making the New York Times bestseller list was something that I was really proud of, but I also think that the friendships I’ve maintained almost rank over that. I think it’s rare to have a wonderful group of friends in this town.

Are there any fashion moments you regret?
I try to never look back at how I dressed in the first few seasons of Laguna Beach because it was pretty bad … head-to-toe bad. This past summer, MTV replayed every episode and I would always see it and be like, Ahh, noo! I wore these capri denim pants a lot and they were so bad.

Your hair is always perfect. How often do you style and wash it?
It’s not perfect, to be honest. I mean, I have my hairstylist, who’s been working on my hair for years, help with cut and color and all that, but for the most part I just kind of let it do what it’s going to do. I wash it every two or three days and don’t style it myself much.

How do you get your cat eyeliner so perfect?
Practice and Q-tips. I dip a Q-tip in eye makeup remover and dab it on my mistakes. I use Mark Painted Black liquid eyeliner—it’s $6.50—and you just drag it along your lashline and then, depending on your eye shape, you can go really dramatic or do a small little flick. You should just mess around with it till you find a shape that works for you.

Nicolas Winding Refn to Helm Small Screen 'Barbarella'; Bond Writers Purvis and Wade on Board

"Skyfall" co-writers Neal Purvis and Robert Wade (they share this Bond credit with John Logan) are tapped to write Nicolas Winding Refn's TV series, "Barbarella." Pervis and Wade also penned Bond's "The World Is Not Enough," "Casino Royale," "Quantum of Solace" and "Die Another Day."

Nicolas Winding Refn will bring "Barbarella" to the small screen. That's an exciting combination of the "Drive," "Bronson" and "Only God Forgives" director and the comic-book character (created by Frenchman Jean-Claude Forest in 1962) that spawned Jane Fonda's 1968 film (watch the sexy as hell--and rather ridiculous--opening credit sequence at Art of the Title). Refn will helm the project for Gaumont International Television, the Los Angeles based arm of the French studio.
Refn states, "I'm excited for the opportunity to re-invent 'Barbarella' with my friends at Gaumont and Martha DeLaurentiis," and adds he's looking forward to bringing the character to a new generation of fans, "I believe she is one of the ultimate counter-cultural characters."

Which actress could possible fill the shoes --nay, spacesuit--of Fonda as the sexually liberated planet-hopping Barbarella?

DeLaurentiis and Gaumont is also behind the upcoming TV series "Hannibal," which will star Hugh Dancy and Mads Mikkelson for NBC.

When the hell are we getting a trailer?! AKA a Game of Thrones season 3 anticipation post~

$
0
0
With nearly two months to go until season three of Game of Thrones debuts, the number one question that seems to be on fans’ minds these days is where is the trailer? We’ve had multiple behind-the-scenes videos and a boatload of photos, but all we’ve received in the trailer department are two short teasers devoid of any footage. So when can we expect a full trailer?

In past seasons, we had already received multiple trailers with footage from the show at this point in the year. In season one, there had been four(!) trailers released by the end of January 2011. Obviously, at that time, they were working to build hype going into the debut of the show. But even last year, we had two trailers that contained footage from the upcoming season two at this point in the game. So it’s fair to wonder why we haven’t seen a full trailer yet and when we can expect one.

As to the why, it seems that HBO is coordinating a slower build-up of promotional material than they have in the past. This is probably for a number of reasons, one being that the show is already quite popular and doesn’t need as many new promos to build buzz. Also, HBO has other shows that they would probably wish to spend marketing dollars on that actually could use some marketing. The other potential reason is that many fans have felt that past seasons had too many trailers released ahead of airing and HBO may have taken that criticism to heart and scaled back on the promos for this season. Lastly, this is a season that holds many surprises so it’s possible that HBO and producers David Benioff & D.B. Weiss want to preserve as many of those surprise as they can, so they feel putting out a bunch of trailers may give too much away.

So when can we expect to see the first real trailer for season three? The first full trailer for season two (the one that broke records) was actually released one year ago today. So if we look at it that way, HBO isn’t too far behind in the season three promos, assuming they release a full trailer in the next couple weeks. And I think that they will. It likely will not be this Sunday, as all of their new shows have been moved to Saturday this week, so they don’t have to compete with the Super Bowl.

(Some have speculated that they may run the trailer during the Super Bowl itself, to really maximize exposure. That seems highly unlikely for a couple reasons: 1) HBO has never aired an ad during the Super Bowl before, and 2) the cost required for even a 30 second ad is astronomical and the trailer would definitely be longer than 30 seconds.)

Could a new trailer air on Saturday then, ahead of new episodes of Girls and Enlightened? That is possible, although HBO generally likes to air these things in front of as many eyeballs as possible and I’m guessing that the move plus the fact that these episodes are already available on HBO Go and On Demand means that the ratings for Saturday’s airing will be pretty low.

I feel pretty certain that the trailer will air on a Sunday. And given that next Sunday will be Feb. 10 and we’ll only be seven weeks away from the premiere, I think there is a good chance it could be next week. If not next week, than almost certainly the week after. I don’t think there is any way HBO would want to be less than six weeks away from a new season of a show without having some sort of trailer. So the good news in all of this is that we likely only have to wait another couple weeks before we see the first full trailer for Game of Thrones season three!

ugh I can't wait tbh, I need footage from s3 now!!! :(

FLOP ALERT: 'X Factor' Winner Tate Stevens Set to Debut New Track

HOLLER IF YOU'RE WITH ME

The X Factor season two winner Tate Stevens is going from one big TV show to another. The country singer will unveil a new track, "Holler If You're With Me," as part of a Pepsi clip to debut during the Grammys, with a full music video available online immediately afterward.

"When I won The X Factor, part of the deal was getting to do this video shoot with Pepsi and Syco Music/RCA Nashville. They've teamed up to do this video to get America the first look at me," Stevens told Rolling Stone when we visited him on set in a very windy Simi Valley, California. "The whole concept is just people getting together, having a big bonfire party. That's the idea – you're going to a Tate Stevens concert, or party, in the middle of nowhere."

'X Factor': Rolling Stone's Complete Coverage

To capture that feel, the producers brought in a hundred or so extras. Stevens used the crowd reactions to the song as a litmus test. "Of course the more they heard it the more they got involved, and they were singing along and stuff," he said of the track, which he described as "an anthem-y kind of thing."

Based on that response, he is excited about bringing the song to the stage: "It's definitely gonna be a lot of fun to throw down live."

While this will be the first taste of Stevens' music fans get post-X Factor, he is not ready to declare "Holler If You're With Me" his first single. Of four songs he says he's completed toward his debut album, one called "Ordinary Angels" is "probably a really strong candidate for a first single. It's got a great message behind it."

The singer is hard at work writing his debut album, release date TBD, and while there will be more rowdy party numbers like "Holler If You're With Me" he also says fans can expect a little bit of everything that falls under an increasingly wide country umbrella, ranging from George Jones to Kenny Chesney and Patsy Cline to Taylor Swift.

"I love George Jones' music, I love the traditional country music. But I also love Kenny, I like Jason Aldean – I like what they do. I like everything in between. You put your own thing to it and you bring the best of what you can do," he said. "That's what I'm gonna try to do. Hopefully it works. You can classify it however you want – it can be George Jones or Kenny Chesney, it's all country."

Yet as viewers saw on the show, on which Stevens performed two Bon Jovi numbers alongside tracks by Garth Brooks, among others, Stevens' own musical tastes are wide -anging. "I'm an Eighties hair band guy. If you go through my iPod when I'm running and working out and stuff, there's a lot of Metallica and Mötley Crüe, it's just loaded with Guns N' Roses. I love Boston, I love Journey, I love Foreigner, I love Queen, REO Speedwagon. I have a guilty pleasure of Air Supply – that's awesome music, it's amazing," he said. "In my live shows I do some Journey and some Foreigner just to be different. How many dudes in a cowboy hat are gonna sing 'Separate Ways'? I do in my show."

With his cross-section of tastes and a musical background (his father was a musician,) Stevens found a connection with his mentor on the show, L.A. Reid. "Working with L.A. was a blessing because he knows the business inside and out, which helped me because we had a lot of conversations about how things worked," he said. "And he was always very forward, a very straight-shooting guy, and super good to me."

Reid, however, is leaving the show, like Britney Spears, which will create two vacancies among the four on the judging panel. Stevens plans to be plenty busy with music, but if for some reason things don't work out, he has a fall-back plan in mind.

"I told L.A. if this whole singing thing didn't work for me, I would come back and take his place," he joked.
