Netflix in Negotiations to Pick Up Cary Fukunaga's African Drama 'Beasts of No Nation'
- The deal is worth $12 million beating out bids by Fox Searchlight and Focus with Netflix set to plan a major awards push.
- The movie stars Idris Elba as a commander of guerilla force in a West African country "who takes a young boy under his wing. The man then begins a process of dehumanizing the boy as he becomes a soldier."
- Cary Fukunaga (True Detective) wrote the script and produced the movie, along with Elba, Amy Kaufman, Riva Marker and Daniela Lundberg.
