Goldie Hawn Explains Why We Never Got "The First Wives Club" Sequel
Goldie Hawn spoke with the Harvard Business Review about many things including sexism and how that played into the sequel for The First Wives Club. The entire article is good if you are a fan of Goldie. For you Chicken Tenders, Goldie Hawn is a famous actress and mother of Kate Hudson.
Has the industry changed over the past few decades?
Goldie: The big money goes to kids and young men—big tent-pole movies, which are expensive but have a great return. The smaller movies aren’t being made as much. For instance, First Wives Club. We were all women of a certain age, and everyone took a cut in salary to do it so the studio could make what it needed. We all took a smaller back end than usual and a much smaller front end. And we ended up doing incredibly well. The movie was hugely successful. It made a lot of money. We were on the cover of Time magazine. But two years later, when the studio came back with a sequel, they wanted to offer us exactly the same deal. We went back to ground zero. Had three men come in there, they would have upped their salaries without even thinking about it. But the fear of women’s movies is embedded in the culture.

Kate Hudson Covers Shape: "Dieting puts so much pressure on people to lose weight quickly"
The 35 year old actress (does she still act?) covers Shape magazine for the second time.
Recenly changed her fitness regimen: “I’ve been switching up from the softer stuff, like Pilates and yoga, to more aggressive activities like TRX and boxing. I really enjoy sweating it out, and it helps clear my mind,"
“It’s not just about trying to look good physically, it’s important to get oxygen to my brain and feel like my blood is really circulating," she says. "I love skiing, walking, hiking, and especially riding my bike. It makes me feel like I’m a kid again!”
When it comes to dieting, Hudson says: “It puts so much pressure on people to lose weight quickly. Getting healthy is not a two-week process, it’s a change of lifestyle.”

VH1's Hindsight 1x08 "The Imaginary Line" Promo
Hindsight entails a nearly forty-year old woman, Becca (Laura Ramsey, She's the Man), being inexplicably sent back in time to 1995. Back in 1995 on the day of her first wedding, Becca reunites with her best friend Lolly (Sarah Goldberg) as well as her first husband Sean (Craig Horner, Legend of the Seeker). Becca has to make a choice, though: marry Sean and endure the disastrous marriage to follow, or pursue her romantic feelings for her future second husband, Andy, who just happens to be dating someone else at the time. In the meantime, Becca also must prevent whatever drove her and Lolly apart in the future, and keep her troubled brother from making the same mistakes once again.
For the few fans on ONTD, any thoughts on what ended Lolly and Becca's friendship? This promo, which is probably misleading, seems to hint at Kevin being part of the reason.
If you've never even heard of this show, it just started a few weeks ago. It's great if you like '90s nostalgia and pop music.
