Full Super Smash Bros 3DS Roster Exposed via Unofficial Lifestream

0
0

Just a day before Nintendo is scheduled to reveal the final and official character list for Super Smash Bros. 3DS, one person with an early copy is livestreaming all the details and secrets.

A Twitch streamer by the name of "Hamayama" is playing the handheld edition live, walking players though the campaign and highlighting its character selection screens.

At the time of writing, Hamayama has unlocked 43 characters, two of which appear to be the dog from Duck Hunt as well as Dark Pit from Kid Icarus, as shown in the image above.

Both inclusions add further credence to what appeared to be a full Smash Bros 3DS Character Roster leak, which was published back in August but not verified. That leak also confirmed new characters to the roster such as Bowser Jr and Shulk.

Meanwhile, eagle-eyed Smash Bros fans watching the stream have noted a lack of copyright information regarding Konami properties - a strong suggestion, though not confirmation, that Solid Snake will be absent from the game.

Other streamers have also confirmed characters such as Dr Mario, Wario, Ganondorf, Falco and Ness.

This bleed of information comes one day prior to Nintendo's special "Live @ the Treehouse" video presentation, which goes live on September 12, where the company will show off the "final" version of Super Smash Bros. for 3DS.

The game officially launches on October 3 across Europe and North America. Nintendo has yet to announce a release date for the Wii U version.

Shonda Rhimes’ Leading Ladies: An Interview with Ellen Pompeo, Kerry Washington & Viola Davis

Since the premiere of Grey’s Anatomy on ABC more than a decade ago, creator Shonda Rhimes has been lauded for putting together a cast that actually resembles the world in which we live, at least in terms of racial diversity.

At a BuzzFeed Brews with Facebook Live event in Hollywood on Wednesday, the star of Grey’s Anatomy, Ellen Pompeo, sat beside the actresses who lead Rhimes’ other ABC dramas — Kerry Washington of the hugely popular Scandal and Viola Davis of the upcoming How to Get Away With Murder — and was asked about what it’s been like to be a part of the shift away from all-white television casts.

“It’s been incredible to be a part of the change in television,” Pompeo said, admitting she was nervous to answer the question. “This has been an incredible ride and thank god that Shonda Rhimes had this agenda to make television look like life, to make it look like the real world. And finally, the networks, who are operating on a completely archaic system, once something succeeds and makes money, [they realize], Oh, what a brilliant idea that is. Let’s give a black woman a job. Because there’s no black women in the world, so why would you ever think of that before?” she questioned angrily and sarcastically. “All of sudden, Oh, black women can make money, too? Oh. OK. Well, let’s fill up the screen. It’s such an outdated, archaic system. Thank god for Shonda Rhimes, because, you know, without her wisdom and wit and creativity behind it, giving it the right stage, they just don’t see it.”

Pompeo went on to thank Washington for her part in making sure people watched the show that really pushed the boundaries that much further, Rhimes’ follow-up ABC series, Scandal. “Thank god for Kerry because Kerry was so instrumental in making Scandal what it is… It was really Kerry’s whole political side that she pushed that through and she made people watch and she made people pay attention and she was like, ‘Everyone is going to see this show,’” Pompeo said passionately.“She took a real leadership role. That is not always easily done… And it worked so brilliantly.”

When asked what she imagines it’s like for people of color to finally see themselves represented on screen, Pompeo began to get emotional. “I’m so, so often embarrassed, you know. As a white person, I’m so embarrassed. You know, we have a lot to be shameful for,” she said, tearing up. “And we can only hope and do everything we can and continue to make strides, because we’ve done a tremendous amount of damage to people and I’ve seen it firsthand. We’re going to be paying this debt off forever as far as I’m concerned. There’s no amount of retribution that’s enough in my eyes.”

The actress also noted that Asian, Latino, and Indian people are still underrepresented on television, pointing out that there are many Indian and Pakistani doctors at Cedars Sinai Hospital in Los Angeles, but that we don’t see them on screen. “There are other groups that we need to represent,” she said. “We are not finished by any means.”

Davis went on to point out that Rhimes isn’t trying to set or meet a quota when it comes to her racially diverse casts. “She doesn’t set out to say, ‘I want a certain number of black people in the cast, and a certain number of Hispanics.’ She just goes out and she finds the actors,” the actress said. “And it’s interesting that you have a number of directors and showrunners out there who just have all Caucasian casts. Now, they see color. They may not tell you. And you know why they won’t tell you? Because you won’t put them to task. … So they will continue doing what they’re doing and they’re the ones who really need to be pushed in that direction. Shonda doesn’t have the problem.”

Pompeo added that she struggles with the word “diversity” itself. “I’d love to sort of take the term diversity and bring it into the next century to no longer just include race. Because let’s just get past diversity being a couple of black people in a show. Diversity is political differences, handicaps,” she said. “Sexual orientation, religion, age, gender,” Washington added. “The word diversity, honestly, I’d like to just throw it away,” Pompeo said emphatically. “Because we’re all diverse.”

“Unfortunately, we can’t yet,” Washington said. “But how great it will be when we can,” she added with a smile.

Hilary Duff Swaps Cars to Fool Paparazzi "They follow me for 11 Hours Every Day"

0
0

The 26-year-old singer, who has just released her first new music in seven years, said photographers follow her around for about 11 hours every day.

"They tend to be there from 7.30 in the morning to about 6 at night," Duff told AAP from a hotel room in Sydney on Wednesday. The singer is in town to promote her new single, All About You. She says she ducks down in her car, or takes a different car to avoid the photographers..

"When I was pregnant and about to have my baby they were relentless, they were outside the house at all times.

"So I would rent a car and the second they would find out that car, I would swap it for a new rental," she says.

Duff is a graduate from the Disney camp - making the transition from child star in TV show Lizzie Maguire to adult actress and pop star without tarnishing her image.

Unlike her twerking Disney alumna, Miley Cyrus, Duff managed to stay wholesome as she took parts in films such as A Cinderella Story (2004) and then adult parts in War,Inc (2008) with actor John Cusack.

The singer is now mum to a two-year-old son, Luca, who she had with her husband former NHL player Mike Comrie - the pair are now separated . She says nearly every moment of her day is snapped by waiting photographers. Day to day events become major moments.

"I'll be feeding a meter and they (paparazzi) will be like 'over your shoulder' and I'm like 'I'm not on a red carpet right now, I'm on the street feeding my meter," she says.

"And I'm in my exercise clothes almost every day, how interesting is that?"

It's no surprise she wants her son to have a more normal life and would prefer if he didn't go down the showbusiness route.

"I will try to encourage other things. I'm not sure if I had my way I would choose it for him," she says.

Duff is returning to the pop charts after a seven-year hiatus from music. It's a long break, but she says after touring straight from the age of 15-20, she needed that time.

"I just kind of felt like every single one of my days was scheduled out for me and everyone was deciding what I did every single day," she says.

After a break, longer than she anticipated, Duff feels she now has something to say - or enough to get her back into the recording studio.

While her last album, Dignity, was more of a dance record, Duff is taking a folky-route on her upcoming pop record.

But the music scene has become even racier than when Duff last released a record. There are more twerking bootys on stage now than there are perfect pop princesses. And Duff still has one of the more wholesome images in pop.

But that's not something that's about to change anytime soon.

"I've got a two-year-old, I'm not going to go nudie any time soon ... I'm not going to take my tops off and be naked in videos," she says.

5. Hatoful Boyfriend Review

HATOFUL BOYFRIEND MADE ME BUY INTO ITS PIGEON-DRIVEN WORLD

Hatoful Boyfriend makes fun of the dating simulator genre by turning it on its head, making it weird and outrageous. The witty dialogue and absolutely bonkers scenarios are genuinely fun to discover, and the handful of different storylines make repeated playthroughs worthwhile. It's not groundbreaking material, but it's laughable — in a good, entertaining way.

6. Sims 4 Review

THE SIMS 4 IS CONTENT TO GIVE YOU JUST ENOUGH, AND NOT A BIT MORE
So much of the effort that went into The Sims 4 — and don't misunderstand, there was a lot of effort — went into improving the tools and mechanics of the game. In that regard, Maxis succeeded; there's no doubt about that. The game-level stuff, the creation and control, is top-notch. But ultimately, it feels like a well-made box, only partially filled and primed for expansion.

It's not that The Sims 4 doesn't give you enough to do — it's that it gives you just enough to do, and not a single ounce more. In one in-game lifetime, I felt like I'd seen everything there was to offer, killing any desire I had to start over. Even in virtual worlds, variety is the spice of life. The Sims 4, for all its polish and cleverness, simply isn't very spicy.

Teresa Giudice Lists New Jersey Mansion For $4 Million

teresa-giudice-main-cd

Real Housewives of New Jersey star Teresa Giudice and her husband Joe have listed their New Jersey home for $3,999,000, and seeing as they're about to face jail time in their fraud case, this is pretty good timing!

The couple purchased the home for $530,000 in 2001, but they didn't move in until 2008, after they completely gutted the place and increased the 5,000-square-foot property to a whopping 10,044 square feet.

The stone and stucco home sits on over 3.5 acres of land, and according to listing info there are 6 bedrooms and 5.5 baths. There is a two-story entrance with double Cinderella staircases, and from the castle-like exterior of the home to the gaudy interior decor (lots of gold and marble), this home is anything but simple and modern.

The great room features a large wood burning fireplace, and there's a balcony upstairs that overlooks the space. The master bedroom has three custom walk-in closets and a gas fireplace, and the master bath has onyx tile, a steam shower, and a soaking tub.

You know they're going to miss all this when they're chowing down on prison food in an 8' x 8' cell!

Vivid claims to have an Iggy Azalea sex tape

0

Adult Entertainment company Vivid Entertainment (the same people who brought you the sex tapes of Kim Kardashian and Pamela Anderson) claims to have an Iggy Azalea’s sex tape—and they’re saying it could be worth millions.

The company’s founder/co-chairman Steven Hirsch says he’s been shown images believed to be the 24-year-old rapping sensation.

“I believe there would be a huge demand for her sex tape,” Mr. Hirsch said in a statement.

“Iggy has proved that she’s an amazing talent. If there is any tape out there that can rival that of Kim Kardashian, this one is it. We are conducting our due diligence and if we are satisfied with our review, we will definitely try to make a deal to distribute the tape.”

This comes shortly after the “Fancy” rapper’s boyfriend, NBA pro Nick Young, was quoted as saying, “I like her style — but it’s not about what she puts on. I have more fun taking her clothes off.”

But for now, it looks like that’s going to remain a private show—as Iggy and her team insist it’s not her in the video.

Chloë Sevigny Does Prep-School Cool

0
0

Chloë Sevigny’s presentations for Opening Ceremony always take clothes outside of a fashion-show context: Last season, she outfitted a cool lineup of lady musicians in her clothes — and today, she brought editors and celebrities (including Kim Gordon) back to high school.

Over a civilized seated lunch at the High Line Hotel, 20 young women between the ages of 13 and 26 — all dressed in Sevigny’s school-uniform-inspired spring collection — gave a series of rousing performances. There was a baton twirler in a spangled onesie, a Haim look-alike female a cappella trio, violinists who broke into show tunes, poetry readings — even a spelling bee, where one student asked that another spell the following words: “Feminism, neurosis, chanterelle, embarrassment, amateur, relevant, indispensable, sentimentality, onomatopoeia, grosgrain, hierarchy, absurdist, and progesterone” to laughter from the audience.

As a high schooler, it couldn’t be easy to perform in front of an audience that included Suzy Menkes, Olivier Zahm, and more — but none of them seemed the least bit nervous. (“I hyped them up a bit,” Sevigny told the Cut after the show.) The result was touchingly sincere, a grounded counterpoint to so many other Fashion Week events. It also seemed to reimagine traditional high-school hierarchies, making the artists, the poets, and the performers the coolest girls in school. (Many of the women also wore flat-brimmed hats that read "TRI-STATE represent," an organization that Sevigny invented.)

Sevigny was clear that this collection, too, was for a woman whose personality was larger than her clothes. “I just feel like so often, you see a girl and you say, she’s wearing blah-blah-blah, that’s so instantly recognizable,” she said. “I wanted to make clothes that would allow the girl to shine through.”

She explained that she was inspired by her time living in the East Village, when she used to see students from Grace Church School walking around the neighborhood in their uniforms.“I was always envious of them and the simplicity — how easy it would be to wake up every day and wear that uniform,” she said. “And yet, how I could see individual personalities coming through even in that.”

Dan Brown's 'Digital Fortress' to be made into a TV series

0

11125

As a nation, we used to be really into codes and messages hidden inside of American symbolism, which turned Dan Brown’s 2003 novel The Da Vinci Code into a mega-bestseller. But times have changed, and now we’re totally into the government treating our privacy like garbage. So it makes perfect sense that 20th Century Fox, Ron Howard and Brian Grazer’s Imagine Entertainment are heading back in Brown’s library to turn his techno-thriller Digital Fortress into a TV series. Don’t tell the government I said that about them.

ABC has given Digital Fortress a put pilot, meaning the network has to show audiences a pilot, with a stiff penalty attached if they don’t. And given how well adaptations of Brown’s work have done on the big screen, it’s silly to think ABC will balk on this topical project. Unless someone stops them for saying too much.

Digital Fortress centers on the cat-and-mouse relationship between an NSA cryptographer named Susan Fletcher and a former NSA employee named Ensei Tankado, who is putting the government’s most consequential secrets up for auction. He has his own stiff penalties attached if he should be killed. There are double-crossers and twists throughout, and it deals with a lot of – you guessed it – questions of governmental superiority when it comes to information.

The pilot is being written by Outlaw Country’s Rachel Abramowitz and Josh Goldin, the latter of which also co-wrote Sam Raimi’s Darkman. It is going to make the premise sexy, because coding is sexy. Guys, it seems like someone sexy, a programmer perhaps, has taken over this sexy site and is making me sexy write this.

Will Ron Howard get directly involved with the pilot? He’s currently on the road to directing Tom Hanks once more for the Brown adaptation Inferno. That’s been a slow-moving project, given Howard’s work on the waterbound drama Heart of the Sea, but it's still possible that he can fit a pilot into his schedule.

Iggy Azalea's legal team now says it may indeed be her in that sex tape

Iggy Azalea's legal team now says it may indeed be her in that sex tape ... but there's also a chance she was under 18 when it was shot.

It's a big change from what her people told TMZ just 2 days ago ... that NO Iggy sex tape exists. Now it sounds like it does ... but with legal peril.

We broke the story ... a video purportedly showing Azalea and an ex-boyfriend is being shopped to porn giant, Vivid Entertainment.

But then Iggy's lawyers now tell us ... any sex video would be the work of a "spurned business suitor" -- aka the ex-BF -- who's just trying to damage her image and career out of revenge. They also told us any footage was possibly shot "without her knowledge or consent" ... kind of a weird statement -- either it was or it wasn't. The lawyers also say it's possible it was shot when she was a minor.

So, let's review Iggy's sex tape position: It's NOT me ... it MIGHT be me ... IF it's me, an evil ex-business partner is out to get me ... and I might be jail bait ... so, I dare you to release it.

Madame Bovary News

Director Sophie Barthes'Madame Bovary has landed a U.S. home with the newly reorganized Millennium Entertainment.

Starring Mia Wasikowska ♥, the movie made its premiere at the Telluride Film Festival and will play at the Toronto Film Festival on Sept. 10. Madame Bovary, which has drawn mixed reviews, also stars Paul Giamatti, Rhys Ifans and Ezra Miller.

Wasikowska plays Emma Bovary, a young, beautiful woman from northern France who marries the town doctor in order to escape a life of swine farming. But she soon grows tired of her husband and enters into a series of ill-fated love affairs.

WME helped secure financing for the film and represents U.S. rights, while Radiant Films International is handling foreign sales.
The deal for Madame Bovary comes days after the management team of Millennium Entertainment, led by Bill Lee, and private investment firm Virgo Investment Group bought out the stake owned by Avi Lerner's NuImage/Millennium Entertainment. Millennium Entertainment will be renamed in the coming weeks.

Marino and Joe Neurauter produced Madame Bovary in association with Barthes via her Aden Film banner and Aleph Motion Picture's Jaime Mateus-Tique.
Madame Bovary Sells in U.S. to Millennium Entertainment

A Columbia University graduate, Sophie Barthes was born in France and grew up in the Middle East and South America. Barthes has just completed an English adaptation of Gustave Flaubert’s Madame Bovary with Mia Wasikowska ♥, Rhys Ifans, Paul Giamatti and Ezra Miller. In 2010, her directorial feature-film debut, Cold Souls with Giamatti and Emily Watson, was released in the US
by Samuel Goldwyn, and was also distributed worldwide. Prior to its theatrical release, Cold Souls played in competition at the 2009 Sundance Film Festival and went on to play in more than thirty international film festivals.

Barthes has completed a residency at the Sundance Screenwriters & Directors Lab and was named one of Filmmaker Magazine's "25 New Faces of Independent Film." She is a recipient of the Annenberg Foundation Film Fellowship.

Madame Bovary will play at the Toronto International Film Festival on September 10, 11, and 12.

WaH: Please give us your own description of the film.

SB: It’s an adaptation of Madame Bovary. My intention was to respect the spirit of Flaubert’s novel, to honor his acute sense of aesthetics and beauty (through costumes and production design), while creating a modern film in terms of style, acting, cinematography, editing, and music.

WaH: What drew you to Flaubert's novel?

SB: Madame Bovary is one my favorite novels. Emma Bovary will always be an enigma, but as the years pass, I feel that I understand her better. She has a violent nostalgia, almost an infantile nostalgia, to be understood by the men surrounding her. I like her relentless fight for independence, her rebellion against the mediocre, and her quest for the sublime, even if she burns her wigs in the process. I like that Flaubert never judges her morally for her self-destructiveness, for her desperate attempt to satisfy her wildest desires and appetites.

As Baudelaire said it so beautifully, Emma Bovary is an androgynous character. She cannot be reduced to a gender or a sociological type. She represents something bigger than herself. That was the genius of Flaubert: the ability to combine the general and the particular.

WaH: What was the biggest challenge in making the film?

SB: Making this film has been Sisyphean. It was difficult to put the financing together. But the whole team [did] incredible [work], and I think it paid off. I had a very precise idea of how I wanted this film to look and feel, which required shooting in a specific region in France, collaborating with French heads of departments for costumes and production design to recreate the 19th-century provincial France as authentically as possible to honor Flaubert’s memory.

WaH: What do you want people to think about when they are leaving the theatre?

SB: More than “think,” I would like them to leave the theater with a feeling, an emotion. I also hope that they would want to rediscover or read the novel for the first time. Madame Bovary is timeless. It is not just about the female condition in France in the 1840s. It’s not a simple cautionary tale. Emma is more than a character; she gives us an insight into human nature. With Emma, we are diving into the complexities of Flaubert’s psyche. I think that Flaubert's famous sentence, “Madame Bovary, c’est moi” ("Madame Bovary, she is me"), in reality means, “ Madame Bovary, c’est nous” ("Madame Bovary, she is us"), in our modern incapacity to live a “good-enough” life.

WaH: What advice do you have for other female directors?

SB: Never give up. I do believe it is harder for female directors. I have been lucky to receive support from the Sundance Institute for my first film. I’m eternally grateful for their support. I think you need to be surrounded artistically and follow your intuition -- always follow your intuition.

WaH: What’s the biggest misconception about you and your work?

SB: I have no idea. I’ve only made short films and two features, which are very different. One is a surreal comedy, and the other is a period tragedy. I'm curious to know what misconceptions this could trigger.

WaH: How did you get your film funded? Share some insights to how you got the film made.

SB: European funds. It’s an independent film, so the financing is largely dependent on the prestige of the cast and foreign sales.

WaH: Name your favorite women directed film and why.

I love Cléo from 5 to 7 by Agnes Varda. I love its simplicity, tonality, poetry, atmosphere, sensuality, lightness, and sadness. I also admire the work of Claire Denis and Vera Chytilova.

How to delete your free U2 album

u2

Do you own an iTunes account? Congratulations. You also own at least one (quite possibly only one) U2 album.

Apple marked the iPhone 6 launch by slipping a copy of the ageing Irish band's latest album into every account, deliberately infecting gadgets with some people's idea of musical malware.

Think of it as a surprise Christmas present from a relative who doesn't know you very well.

Or knows you really well, if you like U2.

If you DO like U2, great. It's a Beautiful Day* and you'll probably find Songs of Innocence an uplifting collection of soft-rock ballads.

If you don't, you'll probably want to get rid of it, pronto.

The third option is that you don't know you've got it yet, in which case you're in for a massive shock when you stick your phone on shuffle.

So how can you get rid of the offending album if it's driving you to the Edge* of War*?

If you have your computer handy, getting rid of the album is the Sweetest Thing*. Simply sync your phone with your iTunes, go to the music tab, and untick the album.

If you don't, you'll have to go through and delete every track individually, so Get on Your Boots* and get going.

Go into your music. Select albums. Select Songs of Innocence, then swipe each track left individually to reveal the delete option. There are 12, so this is the gift from Apple that keeps on giving.

It's a nice thought. Having said that, next time you want to give us a present, Apple, we'd rather have a voucher. Or just some cash.

Incidentally, Songs of Innocence is the band's 13th studio album, and their first since 2009. It's out to buy for non-Apple users on October 13.

*These are U2 puns. And we are sorry for them.

It is believed Dr Antony Kidman reportedly died in a road side accident while visiting Antonia Kidman, Nicole's sister, in Singapore earlier today.

The Royal North Shore Hospital was not immediately commenting on Dr Kidman's death.

Network Ten is reporting that Dr Kidman was visiting Nicole's younger sister Antonia who lives in Singapore with her husband Craig Marran and her six children.

As well as his work as a clinical psychologist, he has done research into the psycho-social impact of diseases, including breast cancer.

He was also ran community service seminars on aspects of mental health, was a regular speaker on radio and television and wrote for academic journals and the general public.

He was awarded an Order of Australia in 2005 for his contributions to clinical psychology.

The family was last seen together in Sydney back in January for Dr Kidman and his wife, Janelle's 50th wedding anniversary.

In June this year, a beaming Nicole Kidman, 46 walked the red carpet with her father and husband Keith Urban at the Swisse Celebrate Life Ball in Melbourne.

In one of his last public statements, Dr Kidman wrote of the pointless pursuit of happiness.

In the article titled 'Forget happiness, search for meaning', Dr Kidman wrote about the importance of striving for achievable goals in life, with a focus on being contented with what you have rather than on a life of material wealth.

Kirsten Dunst thinks she would be thinner if she wasn't in a relationship

Kirsten Dunst is comfortable with a few extra pounds.

The actress opens up to NET-A-PORTER magazine, where she reveals that's she's gained some weight since being in a relationship with boyfriend Garrett Hedlund.

"I’ve got a little bit more of a tummy now, so although I own about 20 pairs of jeans, I’ll wear the same three for a year because the rest are from when I was skinnier," tells the mag.

"I guess if I wasn’t comfortable and in a relationship I’d be thinner. When you’re with someone, you eat so much more and you chill out a bit – but I don’t criticize myself more than is healthy, because there’s such a lot of that, isn’t there? Whether it’s girls among themselves or gossip magazines, it’s all about women tearing apart other women. I don’t get why that’s so prevalent right now."

The 32-year-old also says that she's not a fan of plastic surgery, and that she believes getting Botox or fillers is worse for an actress' career than aging gracefully.

"If you’re going to be an actress who is lasting and still working when she’s older, you can’t have stuff done because you just look weird, and you certainly can’t be in period films. I’ve heard of men doing it too, and I get so distracted by it. I can’t even see their performance because I’m just thinking, ‘What did they do to their face?’ Filling is definitely the worst thing people do; it makes everyone look puffy," she explains.

"The prettiest women to me are the ones who have let themselves age. Kristin Scott Thomas in 'Nowhere Boy' looked absolutely gorgeous. So I feel like there is a way to age gracefully and maybe just do a peel now and again to maintain your looks but not change them," she adds.
