$

hark Week may be over but our oceans and their inhabitants are still in danger. Check out some of the celebrities who are working to save them.
1. Leonardo DiCaprio

DiCaprio is n doubt one of the most charitable and environmentally friendly celebrities in the limelight and one of the many passions he has is for protecting the oceans. He recently pledged $7 million to ocean conservation efforts and earlier this year donated $3 million last winter to ocean advocacy non-profit Oceana.

2. January Jones

In 2009 Jones became the spokesperson for Oceana’s campaign to save sharks, which are incredibly threatened by fishing and finning in all oceans. She also campaigned for the Shark Conservation Act in the US.
3. Paul Walker
Recently deceased and incredibly missed action star Walker was known for his charitable efforts, including his campaigning against unsustainable fishing practices and shark finning with The Billfish Foundation. He also helped to stop coral reef destruction in the Mentawais, mainly caused by bomb fishing, and is considered a hero in their community.
4. Jack Johnson

Johnson is a supporter of the Australian Marine Conservation Society, which helps to protect endangered sea turtles and has even donated concert tickets to the cause. He and his wife began the Johnson Ohana Charitable Foundation which supports education and environmental causes, including teaching children about ocean pollution.

5. Pierce Brosnan

Brosnan and his family are environmentalists who have fought against environmentally disruptive processes off the coast including drilling for natural gas, salt factories, and deadly sonar use that kills sea creatures. Pierce is on the the Sea Shepherd Conservation Society’s Board of Advisors and is a member of Oceana’s Ocean Council as well. Brosnan is also the narrator of Disney’s Oceans.

The 16 (or 5 idk) Craziest Moments From The Brittany Murphy Story!!!!

$
0
0

Let’s get one thing out of the way first: Yes, Lifetime’s “The Brittany Murphy” story was as sensationalized and over-the-top as we all thought it would be.

All of the facts we knew about Brittany’s untimely death in 2009 were not mentioned or saved for a written slide at the end of the unauthorized biopic. The rest was a garbled mess telling her “story” from her humble New Jersey beginnings to the sad end of her career, including her rise to fame post-”Clueless,” her romance with “Just Married” costar Ashton Kutcher, her mother Sharon’s battle with breast cancer, and her strange relationship with her now-deceased husband, Simon Monjack.

Ultimately, this jumpy tale didn’t give us any answers about Brittany’s mysterious death — it was more like one of Lifetime’s original movies, complete with bad acting, dramatic music, and equally-dramatic lighting — but it did provide plenty of ridiculous and outrageous moments. Below, we outline 16 of the film’s most dramatic scenes and cringe-worthy quotes.

1. The whole intro
In the first few minutes of the film, we see Simon screaming, “You all killed her!” at the paparazzi after Brittany’s death, then a flash of tweets from Alicia Silverstone, Paris Hilton, Lindsay Lohan, and Ashton Kutcher mourning her.

2. When a member of the “Clueless” crew calls Brittany a “chunky monkey”
After smiling and being nice to Brittany, a random crew member walks a few feet away from her and loudly says that her onscreen transformation won’t save that “chunky monkey.” This is just one way to show how she was such an “outcast” on set.

3. When she dramatically covers a mirror with a blanket to hide herself
When Brittany is not yet blonde and super self conscious, she gazes into mirrors and tries to imagine herself as a skinny, traditionally pretty girl. One time, she gets so overwhelmed with her reflection that she throws a blanket over it and walks away.

4. Her sex scandal as the “Jordache Junkie”
While Brittany is helping her mom in the hospital, a rumor surfaces that she “got loaded and hooked up with a cater-waiter” at a party. They call her the “Jordache Junkie” (because she was the latest Jordache model, of course) and she tells her mom, “I don’t know whether to laugh or cry at the idea that I left your hospital room to go out and get loaded and have anonymous sex.”

5. Her breakup with Ashton Kutcher
Though Ashton and Brittany have an adorable costar romance after “Just Married” — and notably, Ashton’s casting is probably the best of the entire film — it has to come to an end. Toward the end of their relationship, he laments, “I don’t understand. What happened between when we first started hooking up to now? We were having fun.” She comes home from a trip without her engagement ring on and explains to her mom, “We decided to call it quits. I always felt like I was dragging him down.” As she walks upstairs to rest, she immediately faints and her suitcase rolls down the stairs, crashing at the bottom.

The fame and scandals of Gloria Trevi inspired a movie based on his life that has generated much expectation, after the singer disallow the tape.

However, the film is about to release on October 30 and Universal and launched a controversial new trailer.

In it, we see the moment Trevi met Andrade. His arrival at successful program Siempre en Domingo and its rapid rise to fame throughout Latin America.

But dreams of Gloria tarnish when the news about the "Clan Trevi Andrade" began to point it out. Thus, progress also shows shouts and abuse and when the singer of "Zapatos Viejos" was arrested for justice.

"You'll never be able to write a song without me," says Andrade at the end of the trailer, which also emphasizes "Fame is insanity."

Directed by Swedish Christian Keller, the film features performances after leading Sofia Espinosa (The Girl in the Stone) as Gloria Trevi and Marco Perez in the role of Sergio Andrade.

Shia LaBeouf Finally Changes His Pants

SHIA LaBeouf has been snapped walking the streets of Los Angeles in a rather colourful outfit that drew attention to his, ahem, Shia LaBulge.

The scandal-prone 28-year-old actor and girlfriend Mia Roth were spotted on their way to a lunch date over the weekend, after LaBeouf had competed in the Los Angeles marathon.

Judging by his outfit, we would have assumed LaBeouf was on his way from some sort of 80s-Xanadu-jazzercise-aerobics tournament:

331023-722ce898-36f5-11e4-a634-c008c164be37

Last October, we brought you the news that LaBeouf had reportedly received a swift kick to the family jewels after filming a couple of girls on the street in London.

While we’re not sure these skin tight purple leggings are really appropriate lunch attire, it’s at least comforting to see the LaBeouf valuables don’t appear to have sustained any permanent damage.

Shia, we love that you’re serving Ned Flanders realness, but maybe next time pop some shorts on over the top?

Cops with character

A funny thing happened on the way to casting for Brooklyn Nine-Nine, the ensemble sitcom about a New York City police station. Two Latina actresses, Melissa Fumero andStephanie Beatriz, auditioned for the roles of detectives — and the characters weren't even Latina.

Fumero, the daughter of Cuban immigrants, read for the part of an overachieving, by-the-book cop. As for Beatriz, who was born in Argentina to a Colombian father and a Bolivian-Brazilian mother, all she knew about her character was the description "tough, smart and scary as hell."

The two won the roles, and Brooklyn Nine-Nine went on to become a hit, earning two awards at the Golden Globes this year (Best TV Series, Musical or Comedy, and Best Actor in a TV Series, Musical or Comedy, for star Andy Samberg), plus a second season that premieres in September on Fox. The show also has earned admiration for its portrayal of Latinos, as well as other ethnicities and gender orientations. The sitcom presents not stereotypes but realistic, multi-faceted people who are proud of, but not marginalized by, how they were defined previously in entertainment.
Fumero says the characters are detectives who happen to be Latina, but that's not the direct focus. "That blows my mind, it's so ground-breaking."
Breaking cultural ground was never the intention of Brooklyn Nine-Nine writers Dan Goor and Michael Schur, the team behind another hit comedy, Parks and Recreation.
"They just wanted to write a good show with good characters and have those characters be real, well-rounded, fleshed-out people," says Fumero. They wanted Fumero and Beatriz on the show, and the two were Latina, so they made the characters Latina. "There wasn't an agenda. ... I'm almost more proud of that than even the fact that it's such a diverse cast."
Beatriz agrees: "They're interested in writing for an audience that wants to see real world reflected on television."
The roles of Rosa Diaz and Amy Santiago are the type Beatriz and Fumero have been dreaming of and working hard for all their lives.

FROM STAGE TO SCREEN

Beatriz had some early exposure with colorblind casting in her Webster, Texas, high school production of Little Women, when she was chosen to play Jo. "It felt so special, because I didn't look like any of the girls who were cast as my sisters. All of them were white girls ... and there is a Latina playing Jo. And nobody cared," she says. The role led Beatriz to her passion and a confidence she'd never had before. "I felt like a full, real person for the first time."
The feeling of belonging was new for Beatriz, a member of an immigrant family facing challenges in their new home. Beatriz's father, a chemical engineer in Argentina, had to switch to driving trucks when he brought his wife and toddler-age daughters to the United States. "It was much more difficult for my father to find a job, probably because of, you know, societal prejudices against someone whose degree came from South America and whose first language wasn't English," Beatriz remembers. Her mother knew few people. Her sister Jennifer stopped speaking Spanish when she was teased about her Argentinian accent.
But the many adjustments only made their parents more resourceful and supportive of their daughters. Her father now drives a bus for students learning English as a second language; her mother teaches Spanish. "It was important for them to have my sister and I really follow our hearts," Beatriz says. So her parents let her focus on theater throughout high school and at Stephens College in Columbia, Mo.
After graduating, Beatriz worked with Yale Repertory Theatre and the Oregon Shakespeare Festival (OSF), where her longtime boyfriend, fellow actor Dan Donohue, is playing Richard III this summer. Through the OSF, she was exposed to Culture Clash, the Latino/Chicano performance troupe. "I've been a fan of (theirs) since I was a kid, and I got to work alongside them," Beatriz says. "That was a big step in my growth as an actor who wanted to do more comedy."
She credits her work in theater with helping her keep in tough, taciturn character during hilarious scenes with Saturday Night Live alum Samberg, Fumero and co-star Joe Lo Truglio. "They're the strongest (at improvisational comedy)," she says. "I just don't want to ruin one of their takes; if I start cracking up, that's it."
When she's not in character, though, Beatriz is bubbly and quick to laugh. "I am very different from Rosa, although she's definitely one of my shadow selves," Beatriz admits. "(Rosa) cares about people, but she doesn't have time for BS. There's too much else going on."
Her character's mysterious background allows Beatriz to add her own touches:She thought Rosa would ride a motorcycle, so she started carrying a helmet onto the set and has even signed up for lessons in case they let her film a scene on one. "If Rosa rides a bike, then I should know how."

In addition to motorcycle lessons, Beatriz wants to return to the place where she found herself, her high school theater department. "I really like talking to teenagers about the industry. ... I wish someone had been able to do that when I was in high school; I had so many questions about the way things worked, and I didn't even know who to ask," she says. "Especially for young women, it's a really tricky world."
Her character would likely agree, though probably wouldn't add a cheerful, "It would be really fun for me!"

FROM SOAPS TO LAUGHS

Brooklyn Nine-Nine is filmed in Los Angeles, but Fumero can attest to its authentic East Coast look. She says she's a "Jersey girl from Lyndhurst, right by Giants Stadium." She's also first-generation Cuban American. Her parents came to the United States separately from Cuba when they were young and met in high school in New Jersey. "They're still in love, still hold hands," she reports proudly.
Fumero describes her parents as practical: Her mother was a hairdresser who became a stay-at-home mom, and her father was a math teacher who now works in a jewelry store in Manhattan. Yet when their daughter showed signs of a different path, making up plays and performing them as a child, they saved every cent to send her to dance classes.
"I was always performing," she says. When her parents took her to Broadway musicals starting at age 10, "I remember looking at the stage and being like, 'That. I want to do that.'" Her parents sacrificed what they could to add acting classes to their daughter's new obsession.
Their support was validated by an acceptance letter from New York University, one of the most prestigious — and expensive — schools in the Northeast. "NYU was a challenge, but they made it happen. ... I remember my dad sitting down with me and saying, 'You can't not go to this school, so we're just going to figure it out,'" Fumero says, her voice filling with emotion.
Their faith in her drove her to succeed, and mere hours after her final exam, Fumero got word she'd won the role of Adriana Cramer on the legendary soap opera One Life to Live. "That was the biggest redeeming moment," she says with a laugh, remembering how happy she felt: "I did good! I'm going to get you really nice Christmas gifts from now on!"
In addition to gifts and bragging rights, she also gave her parents a son-in-law: Cuban-American model and actor David Fumero, who also starred on the show. The two don't have children yet, something Fumero is asked about a lot. "Once you're married, you're never allowed to have stomach flu, because everyone will think you're pregnant," she jokes.
Her soap opera alter ego became pregnant, though, as well as becoming a model, getting attacked by her stalker, finding love and then leaving her husband to run off toParis. When Fumero left the soap, she was ready for a change, telling her agent, "I'm all cried out from One Life. I really want to go back to comedy."
Fumero hired a coach and spent time at The Groundlings, the legendary sketch comedy troupe and school in Los Angeles, where A-list comedians Kristen Wiig,Melissa McCarthy and Will Ferrell trained.
The results are great timing and a subtle step beyond playing straightwoman to Samberg's funnyman. "I have a very cartoony face," Fumero says of her expressive reactions to Samberg's lines. "When you're acting with Andy Samberg, you definitely have to be on your toes and ready for anything. ... It's very challenging and super fun, and you feel really good and proud at the end of the workday.
"This whole cast and this show has made me grow so much as an actor and as a person," she adds.
While Fumero can't say where her character on Brooklyn Nine-Nine is headed, she has hopes the show will be an influencer on television. "We want to see Latinos do more than be the maid, gangster or drug dealer. I know Latin people; they're not like that. Hopefully people start writing and producing shows that reflect that. The views of Latinos (are) much more diverse. There's a lot of us.
"It sends a message," she says, "without actually sending a message."

Ajay Rochester -- who hosted Australia's version of "The Biggest Loser" -- just had 1.5 Liters of fat sucked out of her body ... but first, she bellied up to a 1,000 calorie breakfast of bacon, eggs and hash browns.

Ajay hit up Dr. Aaron Rollins Friday at Elite Body Sculpture in Bev Hills, and got something called an Airsculpt Laser Lipo -- a fancy name for precision fat sucking. We're told Ajay was 100% awake for the procedure -- no needles, no cutting, no stitches -- while the doc targeted her chin and arms.

Ajay says her ultimate goal is rocking sleeveless dresses and tops -- not that she was thinking about that when breakfast was served.

Duchess of Cambridge is pregnant with her second child, Clarence House confirms

A statement said the Queen and members of both families were delighted with the news.

The palace said that - as when she was pregnant with Prince George - the duchess was suffering from very acute morning sickness and was being treated by doctors at Kensington Palace.

Prime Minister David Cameron tweeted he was "delighted by the happy news that they're expecting another baby".

The couple's second child will become fourth in line to the throne, moving Prince Harry further down the line of succession.

Clarence House said: "Their Royal Highnesses the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are very pleased to announce that the Duchess of Cambridge is expecting their second child."

The duchess's morning sickness meant that she would no longer accompany Prince William on their planned engagement in Oxford on Monday, Clarence House said.

Catherine had been due to join William in formally opening a £21m China study centre at Oxford University.

The sickness - called hyperemesis gravidarum - is a condition that may require supplementary hydration, medication and nutrients.

The duchess had been due to carry out her first solo overseas tour in Malta later this month.

The baby announcement came two months after the couple's first child, Prince George, had his first birthday.

Ariana Grande cancels Australian media photo shoots after issuing long list of demands

Pocket rocket popette Ariana Grande (this Pulitzer worthy intro tho) has an extra-large list of diva demands for her Australian chatfest.

And most of them are don’ts rather than dos, resulting in the abrupt cancellation of Grande’s photo shoots today.

All media who were granted an audience with the 21-year-old singer were instructed to steer clear of delicate topics during her promotional visit this week.

DON’T ask questions about:
(1) Relationships/Dating/Ex-boyfriends
(2) Mariah Carey
(3) Sam & Cat/Jennette McCurdy
(4) Working/collaborating with Justin Bieber
(5) Her grandfather passing away

Photographers were also given last-minute instructions from the Problem star’s minders.

*DON’T use natural light.
*DO shoot only from the left side of her face.

Grande’s first sitting for mX newspaper was a stop-start affair, with the singer checking each frame after it was taken and asking for shots she wasn’t pleased with to be deleted. After a few minutes she left the hotel suite, complaining to her reps that she was unhappy with how her top looked in the poses.

Everyone assumed she had just gone back to her room at The Darling Hotel to change her outfit.

The remaining photographers waiting to capture the Bang Bang pop star’s close-up had already been put through their paces by the entertainer’s creative directors.

Grande insists on being shot from the left and if you have lights, use those instead of the sunlight streaming in through the window on the gorgeous Sydney spring afternoon.(lol)

After another 20 minutes of waiting for Grande to switch outfits, one of her representatives returned, demanding the mX photographer delete all his photos.

He refused and was later approached at his car by a member of the singer’s security team who attempted to prevent him closing the tailgate on his car as he stowed his equipment.

The singer then ditched the rest of the happy snaps session for various newspaper outlets including News Corp Australia.

Teen Wolf Cast Weighs In on LGBT Inclusion

$

0

Teen Wolf cast members Tyler Posey, Dylan O’Brien, Tyler Hoechlin, Holland Roden, and more weigh in on the LGBT characters who run with the wolf pack.

In the world of Teen Wolf, homophobia is nonexistent. Among the characters on the show, differences in sexuality are accepted with the same ease as differences in eye color, and a romance between gay characters is depicted in the same manner as its straight counterpart. This gained the show a loyal pack of LGBT fans who have followed the adventures of Beacon Hills High School’s supernatural students over the past four seasons.

We recently sat down with several members of the show’s cast and asked them to weigh in onTeen Wolf’s inclusion of LGBT characters and the positive impact the show’s homophobia-free world is having on young viewers.

Tyler Posey (Scott McCall)
On the fan reaction to Teen Wolf’s inclusion of LGBT characters:

We do it in such a natural way. It’s not forced or over-the-top or anything like that. I think it’s perfect and natural, and I think the kids that watch the show really do respect the way we include gay characters. That’s why Charlie (Carver) and Keahu (Kahuanui) — the characters they play are so popular. We love it and we’re happy to be able to show kids that it’s OK to be who you are.

Tyler Hoechlin (Derek Hale)
On Teen Wolf’s inclusion of LGBT characters:

I love that it’s a freedom that we’ve had with MTV, and (executive producer) Jeff (Davis) has done a great job of keeping that a central part of the show. It’s an important thing that the demographic that’s watching the show is being introduced to that and is able to see it. I think it’s a fantastic thing that we’ve been able to integrate into the show.

J.R. Bourne (Chris Argent)
On Teen Wolf’s portrayal of a world where homophobia is nonexistent:
For so long there weren’t any movies, TV shows, books, or comics for gay people to be able to go to and see themselves [reflected]. So to have the inclusion of gay characters be so nonchalant onTeen Wolf, it’s a complete pleasure to be a part of it, and I hope that it becomes a blueprint for more shows in the future.

Holland Roden (Lydia Matin)
On the importance of LGBT visibility on Teen Wolf:

I live under a rock in some ways, because I live in West Hollywood and I work on Teen Wolf. So, it almost seems strange for me talk about … LGBT issues and a lack of visibility because I’m in a space now where LGBT people aren’t invisible. But we need to remember it’s not like that everywhere, and a big part of the issue is a lack of visibility in some parts of the world. So I’m grateful for the visibility Teen Wolf offers.

Dylan O’Brien(Stiles Stilinski)
On the fan reaction to Teen Wolf’s portrayal of a world where homophobia is nonexistent:
It should be represented this way, and it makes me happy to be a part of a show that represents so well. To even think that some shows don’t or just don’t promote it as being a part of their show or don’t have time for it blows my mind. I’ve come to be very grateful for the fact that our show does, and it sets a good example. It’s important for [LGBT kids] to know it’s all good.

Shelley Hennig(Maila Tate)
On Teen Wolf depicting heterosexual and same-sex romance in the same light:
I like that we don’t make a big deal about it. It’s just a part of the show, and I think that’s how [the entire cast] looks at same-sex couples in life, because it’s normal to us.

Dylan Sprayberry (Liam Dunbar)
On the addition of his character’s gay best friend, Mason Dye, played by Khylin Rambo:

I think it’s great that our show has a lot of diversity. It’s awesome that we have new characters like Khylin’s representing the LGBT community, and it’s great that our show is not scared to represent anyone from [any background].

Ian Bohen (Peter Hale)
On being a part of a show that furthers visibility for LGBT youth:
I am honored to be on a show like Teen Wolf that presents an inclusive world for young gay and lesbian people. LGBT equality is one of the biggest causes I support, and the thought of bullying someone because of who they are, who they love, or because they’re not sure is horrifying to me. So if we can bring some visibility to young gay people, I’m beyond thrilled and I’m happy to stand with [LGBT people]. I know them. I work with them. They are my best friends and they deserve the same equal treatment as every other human being. If we can highlight that on TV, then all the better. Equality is coming and it can’t be stopped.

Cut it out, Megan Fox!

The 28-year-old said goodbye to her famous long locks, debuting a shoulder-length trim at a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles event in Australia on Monday. And the hair transformation doesn't stop there: The signature brunette also dyed her glossy caramel locks a darker chocolate shade.
And while Fox has indulged in a trim here and a color swap there, the brunette beauty has kept her long dark tresses fairly consistent throughout the years. We've seen the actress dabble in ombré and grow her hair out to below waist-length, but she's never done anything too drastic to her hair. And really, why should she? She's Megan Fox, and radiant cocoa locks are part of her trademark hotness.
Our verdict on the dark shorter 'do? We approve!

After Jimmy Fallon showed off an awesome Instagram photo of Gisele holding a headstand on the beach, she taught him a move a little more his speed: a one-minute plank pose. Once the two tried to set up the exercise with proper alignment (his backside was up in the air more than we'd recommend), Gisele showed Jimmy some more challenging variations with a lifted leg and an added push-up. 14 (5) secrets from the set of "Faking It" + season 2 trailer

$
0
0

Season 1 of MTV’s Faking It ended with — well, a bang. After Amy (Rita Volk) revealed her romantic feelings for Karma (Katie Stevens) and got rejected, she fell into bed with Karma’s sort-of boyfriend Liam (Gregg Sulkin), who had just learned that Karma and Amy were only pretending to be in a lesbian relationship.

Yes, it’s complicated. And it’s going to stay that way for the foreseeable future. Last month, BuzzFeed News visited the set of Faking It to talk to showrunner Carter Covington and the cast about what’s to come in Season 2, which premieres on Sept. 23.

Check out the exclusive Faking It Season 2 trailer, then read on for some teases about Amy and Liam’s big secret, the truth behind Lauren’s (Bailey De Young) pill-popping, and some very special guest appearances.

2. Get ready for some big-name guest stars, including Fifth Harmony.

Before we get into the plot of Season 2, let’s talk about the fresh faces coming to Faking It. BuzzFeed News has learned exclusively that Fifth Harmony will be making an appearance as “an all-girl band with an edge who cover pop music’s most memorable boy band songs,” per MTV. Also, as previously announced, Orange Is the New Black breakout star and Emmy nominee Laverne Cox will be guest starring as a very intense drama teacher.

4. Karma is going to go all out to repair her friendship with Amy.

It’s hard to come back from your best friend telling you she’s in love with you. And even harder when you rejected her. But all that’s on Karma’s mind when Season 2 begins is winning back Amy’s friendship. “Karma is trying to be the best friend possible because she knows she hurt Amy, and she doesn’t want to lose her,” Covington explained. But her tactics may be a bit over-the-top. “I’m really excited because one of my romantic gestures to Amy is, I get kind of that John Cusack Say Anything moment, where he stands outside with the speakers, except I’m actually outside her window playing for her,” Stevens said. “She thinks she’s doing this act that’s telling Amy how much she wants to be friends, not realizing how romantic it is.”

6. But there may be a future for Karma and Liam.

Despite the classic rom-com moment, for now, Karma’s feelings for Amy are purely friendly. But while Liam’s certainly pissed that Karma lied to him — and is harboring a major secret of his own — don’t rule out the possibility of more romance down the line. “I don’t think either of them have really experienced people in their life like the other,” Sulkin said. “I think Liam is obviously her first huge love, and I think, from Liam’s point of view, Karma is the first girl that he really noticed and saw and thought was unique and special. So I hope — I hope — that there’s a romance still possible. Obviously mistakes have consequences.” Speaking of that mistake…

7. Amy and Liam have different ideas of how to deal with their big secret.

“Liam is holding a secret from the love of his life, and Amy is also holding a secret from the love of her life,” Sulkin said. Don’t expect Amy and Liam to make the same mistake twice, but they do now have a special bond.“We have a relationship now between Amy and Liam that’s based on this horrible thing they did together,” Covington said. Amy knows that telling Karma will destroy her, but Liam is more conflicted because he hates lying. “This secret he has really starts to corrode him and his own sense of self-worth,” Covington continued. “As he feels more and more like he has to tell, Amy feels more and more invested that he can’t.”

9. We’re going to find out a lot more about Liam’s family. (why tho)

And it sounds like his home life is less than ideal. “We’re gonna learn more about his family and explore why he hates lying,” Covington said. “There’s definitely a few secrets there that Liam’s had to hide throughout his life and had to kind of grow up with, which kind of puts him on edge,” Sulkin said. “The reason he’s an artist is because of that. You can see that he’s been wounded and had a huge weight on his shoulders throughout the years.” Liam will also be doing some self-exploration, which means figuring out why he was drawn to a lesbian in the first place.

President Barack Obama comments on Ray Rice situation

$

You can always tell that a sports story has crossed into the "bigger than the game" realm when the President of the United States takes the time to release a statement on it.

President Barack Obama, through White House Press Secretary Josh Earnest, condemned Ray Rice's actions on Monday. Rice was seen in a surveillance video, released by TMZ on Monday morning, punching his then-fiancee and knocking her unconscious. The sporting world was outraged, leading the Ravens to cut the running back and the NFL to suspend him indefinitely. The league had been widely criticized for suspending Rice just two games for the incident.

Whether or not you think it's a good use of the President's time, here's what he had to say about Rice, via NBC Washington:

"The president is the father of two daughters, and like any American, he believes that domestic violence is contemptible and unacceptable in a civilized society," Earnest said. "Hitting a woman is not something a real man does, and that's true whether or not an act of violence happens in the public eye, or, far too often, behind closed doors. Stopping domestic violence is something that's bigger than football, and all of us have a responsibility to put a stop to it."

Maryland Gov. Martin O'Malley also released a statement on Rice:

"The video released this morning of this domestic assault was horrible, shocking, and reprehensible. Everyone can do more to help end the scourge of domestic violence. Please consider supporting the House of Ruth: http://www.hruth.org/, and learn about what Maryland is doing to reduce violence against women and children: https://data.maryland.gov/goals/violence.”

7 (4) Reasons Why Netflix's BoJack Horseman Is the Funniest Show of the Fall

Netflix has done it again.

While the Broadcast Sitcom Assembly Line has generated shows ranging from the lukewarm (A to Z) to the downright languid (Mulaney), Netflix has trotted out (heh) BoJack Horseman, the rare show whose execution lives up to its ambition.

In this fall's stale comedy landscape, BoJack is like a breath of fresh air — and it's clear that Netflix has faith in its latest project, which was renewed four days after it premiered last month. The cartoon's just-go-with-it premise follows the title character (voiced by Will Arnett), a washed-up former equine star of the '90s hit sitcom "Horsin' Around" who's trying to write his memoir. The show really finds its footing by Episode 3, which skewers former child stars-turned-sexpots via a storyline about Sarah Lynn (voiced by Kristen Schaal), a young woman who played BoJack's adopted daughter on "Horsin' Around" and now bears more than a passing resemblance to Miley Cyrus. It's hilarious, but also dark and oddly resonant at times.

It's clear that, after the success of shows like Orange Is the New Black, Netflix has hit upon a winning formula with shows that don't fit neatly into one category. So why is BoJack Horseman funnier than any of the network sitcoms airing this fall? Here are seven four reasons:

3. Think Archer meets Arrested Development. Much like on Arnett's other standout, Arrested Development, the jokes on BoJack come at a machine-gun, blink-and-you'll-miss-them rate, and are multilayered. While you're laughing at the dialogue during an argument between Bojack and Princess Carolyn, you might miss her landing on all fours after getting thrown out of his car. Or, if you're only half paying attention, the name of 14-year-old singer Sextina Aquafina's hit song, "My Clitoris Is Gynormous," may pass you by.

4. It's not just another dumb cartoon."I think of the show almost as a dramedy, in the way that some live action shows are," Bob-Waksberg says. "The way I pitched the show is it's going to be this wacky, fun, goofy cartoon show that gets gradually darker the further it goes. I think all the actors really liked that idea — that it wouldn't just be funny voices, that they get to do some real acting in addition to the silliness."

5. It lets celebrities show they can take a joke. The impressive list of Season 1 guest stars includes Stephen Colbert, Kristin Chenoweth, Patton Oswalt and Olivia Wilde, as well as Margo Martindale, Naomi Watts and Wallace Shawn playing outsize versions of themselves. Keith Olbermann also makes an appearance as Tom Jumbo-Gumbo, a blue whale news anchor who's the face of "MSNBSea." And other celebrities, like Andrew Garfield and David Boreanaz, find themselves the butt of running jokes. ("I had the idea — which is a really easy, dumb idea; I'm not the first person to make this connection — that Andrew Garfield would love lasagna and hate Mondays," Bob-Waksberg explains. "That just really made me giggle.")

6. It's not afraid to take risks — and they pay off. While network sitcoms tend to either play it safe when it comes to humor, or egregiously misfire (see: Dads), BoJack hits the mark both in terms of absurdity and poignancy. If you think a show about a horse with a drinking problem can't be moving, think again. "Netflix really trusts us," Bob-Waksberg says. "We don't get a lot of network notes. They're not coming back all the time like, 'Oh, this is too sad,' or 'This is too weird.' ... I've been in rooms where the creator has sold a show and then felt like the network didn't buy the show they wanted. They bought a show they thought they could craft into the show they wanted. And with Netflix, it feels like with all their shows, they like the show that is being pitched and they let the creator make that show. Which is so amazing."

So does anyone else watch this show? I am honestly suprised with how much I like it, I just finished season 1 and I can't wait for season 2.
