'You Throw Fits, You Pout': Tom Brady On How He Keeps Wife Gisele Bundchen's Attention

The American football player admits to having an immature side...

Tom Brady admits that he has a rather immature side when it comes to getting his wife Gisele Bundchen’s attention.

The American football star has two children with the Brazilian supermodel however the parents can’t help but act like youngsters themselves at times.

“I’m a guy, what doesn’t she get on me for? That’s just what wives do, he told Man of the World magazine’s Fall issue. “I like attention from her, so when I’m not getting it I let her know in immature ways, like a young, immature child would. You throw fits and you pout and you whine until you get what you want.”

5408c1342612c

Although the sportsman’s actions used to do that trick when he craved the star’s attention, now his tactics are less successful.

“She’s on to me, she knows all of my tricks. So now I have to learn new tricks, he continued.

Tom is known as one of the greatest quarterbacks of all NFL history, and is profiled by Geoffrey Grey styled by Deborah Watson and photographed by Randall Mesdon in the publication’s latest instalment. Speaking candidly, he reflects on family, leadership and finding peace on the field.

5408c15649b71

“My wife speaks five languages. I always tell her I speak two: English and football,Tom – who sleeps with his playbook next to his bed - joked.

“In a weird way, even though it’s hyper-intense, I really am my true self out there” he added. “I can be who I am without having to be polite or having to be on. If someone messes up, I can let them know.

“If I want to be excited, I can be excited. If I want to be pissed, I can be pissed. I’m more myself in front of 70,000 people.”

A potential 'Supergirl' TV show is in the works

Supergirl fans may have a lot to get excited about soon. A new report from E! Online states that Warner Bros. and DC Entertainment are currently shopping a "Supergirl" series to various networks, and while there's no deal currently in place, the show will likely not end up at The CW.

Furthermore, E! Online's sources stated that Michael Green is attached to the project. Green, a producer on "Gotham," "Smallville" and "Heroes," was responsible for the relaunch of the "Supergirl" ongoing series in 2011 at the start of DC's New 52. Green, along with his co-writer Mike Johnson, were on the series for twelve issues. (Johnson is set to return to the series in November.)

If picked up, "Supergirl" would be the first female-driven comics-based television show since the original "Wonder Woman" television series ended in 1979. Although there have been several announced projects -- such as David E. Kelly's "Wonder Woman" pilot and the "Amazon" Wonder Woman origin series -- "Supergirl" is actually the first non-Wonder Woman series rumored for development. The character has appeared in live-action media before, most recently in "Smallville," where she was played by Laura Vandervoort.

DC Entertainment and Warner Bros. already have a very ambitious television slate for the 2014-2015 season, which includes a third season of "Arrow," and debut seasons of "The Flash," "Gotham," "Constantine" and "iZombie."

Zendaya is officially legal!

The former Shake It Up! star kicked off her 18th birthday with a special cake from Madonna and her daughter Lola, who sent the actress a fab Material Girl-themed cake.

"Thank you @madonna and Lola....this is so sweet...litterally, @materialgirl," The Material Girl model captioned the Instagram shot of the three-tiered sweet treat, which had a gold '18' on the top and a bright pink "Happy Birthday Zendaya" sitting on it, along with pink candy stars.

Zendaya also got another surprise a couple of days before her birthday, when Becky G sang 'Happy Birthday' to her during their concert. "Sang happy birthday to the homie @zendaya. so much fun sharing the stage with this girl! Her birthday is on Monday so don't forget to wish her a happy birthday!!," Becky captioned the Instavideo.

On the day of her birthday, Zendaya had more fun with some friends, riding around on souped up golf carts (one looked like a Rolls Royce) in an undisclosed location.

It's been a week of birthday festivities for Zendaya, who celebrated her BFF singer Trevor Jackson's 18th birthday earlier in the week as well. The two have been rumored to be dating, but Zendaya squashed that chatter at his birthday bash in Los Angeles, telling Hip Hollywood they are just friends.

"There's going to be those [rumors]," Zendaya said. "But he's my best friend in the whole world. I love him to death. I'm always going to be there. I'm always to be the homie. I'm always going to be there supporting him. That's all it is."

Emma Roberts Teases American Horror Story: Freak Show: The Scripts Gave Me Nightmares!

Emma Roberts is too scared to watch her own show.

"American Horror Story, in general, scares me to death," the Neutrogena Brand Ambassador told E! News at Target's annual After-Hours Shopping Event. "I was a fan the first two seasons before I came on."

Roberts, who joined the cast during American Horror Story: Coven, was on hand to talk beauty tips and help shoppers with their back-to-college needs, like Neutrogena Oil-Free Acne Wash. The actress said she would rewatch episodes of American Horror Story and not remember scenes because she was hiding during them.

AHS: Coven featured a group of witches and was campier than other seasons, but Roberts said viewers better prepare for Freak Show. "I have to say, Freak Show is really scarier...I read the script and I was having nightmares," she said.

The new season is set in 1952 and stars Jessica Lange as Elsa Mars, the owner of a freak show in Jupiter, Fla. Some of her freaks include Sarah Paulson as conjoined twins, Kathy Bates as a bearded lady, Michael Chiklis as a strong man and Angela Bassett, who looks to have three breasts. The cast also includes Evan Peters, Denis O'Hare, John Carroll Lynch, Patti LaBelle and Frances Conroy. Roberts plays Maggie, who may not appear to be a freak on the surface, she told us.

"But that might not be true," she teased.

This will be Lange's fourth season of American Horror Story and perhaps her last. She previously told members of the press that she would depart following this season. But like her costar Paulson, Roberts said she's hopeful Lange will return to the fold for another go around.

"I think all of us have our fingers crossed that Jessica will come back next season. At least I do because I love working with her. I hope it's not her last season," Roberts said.

'Secret Six' is back and being written by Gail Simone once more!

Gail Simone's next series reunites the fan-favorite writer with some characters fans have been asking about since the New 52 debuted in September, 2011.

Announced Thursday morning via Hero Complex, an all-new "Secret Six" launches from DC Comics in December, and it stars a pair of characters the writer is very familiar with: Black Alice, who was co-created by Simone and artist Dale Eaglesham, and Catman, a Batman villain long considered a joke until the writer took him under her wing and overhauled him into a credible threat.

Simone never lost her affinity for Catman. Versions of the character populate the background of her Tumblr account, where she discussed some of her plans for him.

"Catman is bisexual," she stated in October 2011, shortly after the DCU rebooted, "and when we bring him back, that will be explicitly in canon." Nearly three years later, Simone says that remains the plan, along with some other revelations. "You’re going to see right away kind of what Catman’s about," she told Hero Complex. “I don’t want to reveal too much just bec
ause it is part of his character and part of his story to unfold these things through the story."

Simone won't name or discuss the four remaining characters yet -- though the first issue's cover reveals a Talon, presumably Strix from "Birds of Prey," is part of the group -- opting instead to play up the mystery aspect of the series. Calling the book the "Twin Peaks" of superhero comics, Simone says the first issue opens with the six characters, strangers to each other, waking up to find themselves trapped in a locked room together with no knowledge of how they've arrived in their shared situation. "They instantly do not like each other," SImone said of the group dynamic, "and they instantly do not get along with each other."

"Secret Six," written by Simone, illustrated by Ken Lashley and featuring covers and character designs by Dale Eaglesham, debuts in December.

Slay Mama: JLaw, GoT, Frozen among New Entertainment Record Holders in Guinness World Records 2015

$

As the global authority on records of all types, Guinness World Records of course keeps its eye on the world of celebrity and entertainment all year long.

But, with the Sept. 11 launch of the Guinness World Records 2015 book, now is the time to announce some of the celebrity records broken in the past year, to be featured in the definitive annual publication for anything superlative.

Keep up with the latest on the Guinness World Records 2015 book on social media by using #gwr60

Academy Award-winning starlet Jennifer Lawrence lands a spot on the film pages for Highest-grossing action movie heroine. The phenomenal success of the first two movies in The Hunger Games franchise - centered around Lawrence's protagonist Katniss Everdeen -have grossed more than $1.52 billion (£928 million) total internationally. The Hunger Games: Catching Fire was also the highest-grossing post-apocalypse movie, earning more than $420 million (£255 million) in the USA and $854 million (£519 million) worldwide.

Records also tumbled on television. The hugely popular HBO fantasy drama series Game of Thrones makes its way into the 2015 book as the Most pirated TV program. "GoT" retained its spot atop Torrent Freak’s top 10 list of most pirated TV shows, with 5.9 million downloads per episode.

HBO and Warner Bros. executives have controversially stated that "receiving the title of the ‘most-pirated’ was better than an Emmy," creating a "much needed cultural buzz."

Coming off a controversial and highly buzzworthy year of her own, Miley Cyrus’s popularity peaked after she "twerked" with Robin Thicke at the 2013 MTV Video Music Awards, gaining her a place in the 2015 book as the Most searched-for pop star on the Internet. Also online, international superstar Shakira set a social media record when her 100 millionth fan clicked the “like” button on her Facebook page, making her the Most liked person on the platform and First to reach 1 million likes.

Other stand-out entertainment records to grace the pages of the Guinness World Records 2015 book include:

Highest box office film gross for an animation: There's no letting go of this record for Frozen, as the wildly popular Disney princesses Elsa and Anna racked up an astounding $1.13 billion (£686 million) and counting at the international box office to date.

Fastest-selling iTunes album:Beyoncé features in the new 2015 book for the release of her incredible eponymous video album, which sold 828,773 copies worldwide in the first three days of availability.

Highest annual earnings for a film actor: This record is shared by Tom Cruise and Robert Downey Jr. Cruise earned approximately $76.7 million (£46.6 million) between May 2011 and May 2012, but Downey made the same amount between June 2012 and June 2013, benefiting from the proceeds of both The Avengers and Iron Man 3.

Most swearing in one film: The DiCaprio-Scorcese movie The Wolf of Wall Street featured a count of at least 687 expletives – an average of 3.81 swear words per minute.

Most Twitter followers: Star singer Katy Perry boasts the most Twitter followers in the world, with a count of more than 56 million, sure to increase by the time you read this.

Most “likes” on a Facebook item: This belongs to Vin Diesel for a Facebook photo of himself and the late Paul Walker after Walker's tragic death in November, at more than 6.8 million likes.

Most words in a hit single: The single "Rap God" from Eminem packed a mouth-filling 1,560 words into its 6 min 4 sec runtime.

Longest continuously running film franchise: Its latest installment in 2014 extended the Godzilla franchise over a total span of 60 years, and counting.

As the Guinness World Records 2015 book celebrates the 60th anniversary edition of the series, it includes a special throwback section looking at the past 60 years, examining how the film and music industry has changed. It also looks at how some records haven't, like how Gone With the Wind remains the Highest-grossing film ever when adjusting for inflation.

Julia Roberts Joins Chiwetel Ejiofor and Gwyneth Paltrow in 'Secret In Their Eyes' Remake

$

Julia Roberts is in advanced negotiations to join Gwyneth Paltrow and Chiwetel Ejiofor in the English-language remake of the Argentinian thriller Secret in Their Eyes.

Billy Ray wrote the script and is directing the project, which IM Global is selling in Toronto. IM Global also is fully financing the film, which starts shooting in October.

In a testament to how much Roberts is desired, her role initially was earmarked for a male actor, but Ray rewrote it specifically for the actress. Also, the movie originally was to have shot in Boston but now will shoot in Los Angeles.

The original Spanish-language movie won the Oscar for best foreign-language film in 2010 and centered on a retired attorney who seeks closure for an unsolved case and for his unrequited love for his former superior by writing a book. The process, however, opens more doors than it closes as decades-long secrets are revealed. It was written and directed by Juan Jose Campanella.

The movie will be a reunion of sorts for Roberts and Paltrow, both of whom appeared in Steven Spielberg’s 1991 movie Hook. (Paltrow had a brief part as young Wendy.)

Roberts of late has been taking key roles in hot projects, and her turn in 2013’s August: Osage County nabbed her a best supporting actress Oscar nomination. She most recently appeared in HBO’s The Normal Heart, for which she received a best supporting actress Emmy nomination (in the miniseries/movie category).

She is repped by CAA and Hirsch Wallerstein.

Gisele Bundchen Lands New Under Armour Gig

$

"Stick to modeling Sweetie."

"Is modeling now a sport?"

"She's old."

"OMG. I love her."

Such are the "real comments from critics and supporters" reacting to Under Armour's announcement earlier this week that the brand signed Brazilian supermodel Gisele Bundchen to its women's marketing campaign, Under Armour says.

After posting a video teaser about the Bundchen partnership on Tuesday, the Baltimore-based sports apparel company unveiled the full ad this morning. The video shows Bundchen working out, throwing punches and kicks at a heavy punching bag while public comments in bold white lettering flash across bare brick walls of the workout loft. (And while she's wearing the latest styles from Under Armour's StudioLux, HeatGear and Legacy collections.)

It's Under Armour's newest chapter of I Will What I Want, a campaign highlighting women who have broken barriers to reach the top of their field, designed to lure women athletes and athletic women to the brand.

Under Armour kicked off the nearly $15 million women's campaign earlier this summer with ads featuring American Ballet Theatre soloist Misty Copeland, a departure from using more traditional athletes as the face of the brand.
The Bundchen film shows her "athleticism and unwavering dedication under pressure," someone who has "defied labels and critics," and can "remain focused to prove that will beats noise," the company said.
"Most women at a certain point in their life encounter contradicting opinions, expectations, praise and criticism," Leanne Fremar, senior vice president and executive creative director for Under Armour Women, said in an announcement. "Having lived her life in the public eye since she began modeling at 16, Gisele knows what it means to focus inward in order to beat the noise and achieve her own goals."

Fremar describes the model as a global fashion icon who's "incredibly athletic" and dedicated to martial arts and yoga.

"Having the strength to tune out negativity and remain focused on what I want gives me the will and confidence to achieve my goals," Bundchen said in a statement.

Along with the 60-second film, Under Armour put together an interactive digital campaign, designed to enable women to track, analyze and share their fitness and athletic lifestyle along with the campaign's featured athletes: Bundchen, Copeland, downhill skier Lindsey Vonn, tennis player Sloane Stephens and soccer player Kelley O'Hara.

The brand plans digital advertisements with Glamour, People, Refinery29, Well + Good, ESPN and others.

"After the initial announcement of Under Armour’s partnership with Gisele, we decided to use its unexpected, surprising nature to our advantage,” Sarah Thompson, CEO of Droga5, which helped produce the digital campaign. "We looked at how the public was responding and incorporated those comments to show the strength it takes to transcend external opinions and succeed in today’s world."

‘X-Men: Apocalypse’ Begins Shooting in April 2015

Bryan Singer’s Days of Future Past – the most successful installment in the X-Men movie franchise which has been running since Singer directed its first installment in 2000 – began shooting in April 2013. Sets were crafted in Mel’s Studio in Montreal months earlier with many sequences shot on location within Quebec. For Apocalypse, it seems if it ain’t broke, there’s no need for Twentieth Century Fox to fix it.

Set construction will begin for X-Men: Apocalypse this December for a production start in April 2015 at the very same studio. Principal photography begins around the same time in April next year as it did last year for the previous installment to hit a similar late-May release. It’s fitting, given the nature of the returning cast, crew and storyline.

Also beginning production around the same time will be Marvel Studios’ Captain America 3 in Atlanta. Directors Anthony and Joe Russo, who hit it big with Captain America: The Winter Soldier this year, are on a similar schedule as X-Men, beginning photography in April for a May 2016 release.

Director Bryan Singer and writer-producer Simon Kinberg have been talking up Apocalypse since before X-Men: Days of Future Past even hit theaters. Given how the latter concludes, it clearly sets up a followup (not to mention the post-credits button teasing Apocalypse). We’re told that X-Men: Apocalypse will somehow be even “bigger’ than DOFP and there are hints that some of the original cast may return yet again, along with younger versions of key characters from the original trilogy.

X-Men: Apocalypse hits theaters on May 27, 2016 and The Wolverine 3 (not the official title) on March 3, 2017.

Vain and Inane: The Rise of Britain's D***head Vloggers

$
0
0

Vloggers have been around almost as long as YouTube itself. However, bar Wired writers, 4Chan bullies and anyone working towards their year 9 SATs, most people are lucky enough that they've never had one try to confiscate their attention span like a smug teenage bailiff.

Unfortunately, this is all about to change, and soon the entire media landscape will be as stuffed with these tedious pricks as the average 14-year-old's Facebook feed. The other day I received something awful in the mail – something worse than all the unwanted garbage that traditionally gets pushed through your letter flap (anthrax, repossession notices, flyers trying to sell you job lots of chicken wings, etc): The Pointless Book, the debut print release from English vlogger, Alfie Deyes.

Alfie is a clean, gummy, harmless young man; basically the mealy-mouthed Alex-Zane-in-training of the British vlogging community. It's difficult to really pinpoint what his videos are about because, as with most vloggers, they're not really about anything – here he is getting burped at and playing beer pong with some food (1.4 million views), here he is trying to process the news that a ten-year-old in Spain has given birth (4 million views) and here he is giving himself a facial with some poo (it's not, it's nutella; 953k views). Really, the subject matter is a side issue; the videos are just a vessel for a friendly face, one that laughs really loudly, constantly and for no reason, gurns like a dog on fire and feigns awkwardness in an attempt to disguise its own vanity. All set to a soundtrack of ukeleles and whistling. (Who the fuck is making all this ukelele whistling music? Where does it come from?)

As well as regularly recording little films like these for nearly 3 million subscribers, Alfie’s a “Let’s Player” – someone who plays through entire video games and commentates as they go, before posting the footage online. When he's not busy doing things that would get him instantly glassed in any respectable pub in Britain, he reportedly dates fellow British vlogger Zoe Sugg, known online as “Zoella”. Zoe is one of three celebrity YouTube vloggers, along with Tyler Oakley and “TomSka”, who were recently recruited to present a new Radio 1 show, in what seems like a pretty desperate attempt to entice younger listeners.

These publishing deals and radio contracts have created a jealousy divide in the world of shouty webcam folk. On one side are those bedroom chancers who persist with uploading their dull musings to a depressingly muted response, and on the other are the bedroom chancers who persist with uploading their dull musings to a perplexingly exploding fanbase, mostly made up of teenagers who are happy – eager, even – to spend eight minutes of their lives listening to some musical theatre student promote whatever brand it is they’re being sponsored by that week. In fact, once their subscriber list hits seven figures, some vloggers can make in excess of £40,000 per shout out. One prominent user recently put down the money for a house in cash.

So some kids are making money from nothing – who am I to thwart their hustle? What does it mean for me? Nothing, right?

It really shouldn't matter to me that these people have no great yarns, no real stories, no points of note; nothing really but webcams and internet hubs. People can waste their time online however they like. But thanks to the accepted wisdom that everything that happens on the internet is the future, they’re working their way out of that cyber niche, where you have a choice whether or not to subject yourself to their terrible jokes and inane dating advice, into the mainstream, where they’ll be much harder to avoid.

Their fame and promotion is symptomatic of a wider issue, too: the norms becoming the stars. Those with no charisma, no talent and no guile being paraded through popular culture like a preening, self-obsessed Ark of the Covenant.

It could be argued that their inception, and subsequent rise to prominence, is not their fault, but the fault of our increasingly anodyne culture. BBC3 sitcoms with sex jokes limper than a fag packet left out in the rain, pop stars whose only controversy is cropping a rapper who looks like a Slush Puppy out of an Instagram photo. In a recent interview with Evening Standard Magazine, English singer-songwriter and BRIT award-winner Ben Howard was painted as a sullen, moody creature of pained art; a kind of Leonard Cohen for the Sun, Sex and Suspicious Parents generation. The evidence? He doesn't like speaking to Tom Odell backstage at festivals.

Our emerging cultural figureheads are distressingly bland. What people tend to forget about entertainment is that it’s an art form, the nuances of which have to be learned. Rodney Dangerfield, Tommy Cooper, Michael Barrymore, Harry Hill – love, hate or fear them, you have to admit that there’s an inherent talent for showmanship in what they do. And the skills – the bare bones of it – are still something that have to be honed and crafted. These young bucks – these webcam frontiersmen – are learning on the job with no one teaching them. The result is a poorly edited mess of ego and quirk.

Of course, this is partly the appeal to their fans. Successful vloggers sell them the dream that normalcy can make you famous – that you can be adored for just blurting non-sequiturs at a camera with an upward inflection, and that with a few first-year film studies classes and a half-decent haircut you could be earning a hundred grand a year.

So where does that leave the rest of us? The news that Zoella and those two other vloggers are to be featured on Radio 1 is worrying. Sure, they might not be totally offensive in every instance, but the vast majority of the time you’ll come away thinking, ‘Who are these terrible dickheads?'

Last year, I wrote something about how contestants are ruining British game shows by attempting to become their stars. The basic premise was that the game is the star of the show, not the contestant. The contestant is a conduit through which the game flows, so that we can all enjoy it at home and join in. Because we – the viewing public – are the ones who are meant to be entertained here. But the contestants won’t stop trying to be funny. Trying to be zany. Trying to eke a tear from your eyes by weeping about the fact that their son “really deserves a nice holiday to Florida” because their guess about which one of Henry VIII's wives was beheaded first miraculously came up trumps.

The pageantry of the boring is a burden spreading through our entertainment industry, and its legacy and offspring reside in the vlogger community.

Deyes' Pointless Book is the perfect example. It’s an absolute fucking shambles. An offensive cavalcade of non-jokes aimed at young people who the vlogger has hugely underestimated. On page 130 it invites you to “turn to page 190”; when you reach page 190, it tells you to “turn to page 130”. Hilarious!

There are about five “pointless pages” that you can “fill in with whatever you want!” One minute you’re being encouraged to make origami birds and pick flowers, the next you’re “drawing genitals” and deciding whether you want to have a “sexual attraction to fruit”. Is it crass or is it cutesy? Why try to be everything to everyone?

Here lies another issue: there’s no identity. No flow, no consistency. Alfie Deyes is just a guy who can be sensitive and bawdy. He has a regular range of emotions and references. He is anyone. Someone who does have one solid theme is Sam Pepper – Big Brother contestant and incomprehensibly popular vlogger – but unfortunately his adopted online steez seems to be “awkward sex offender”, as he coerces women on the streets of LA into kissing him (but only after he’s lassoed them for the lulz).

But when you hear Zoella on the radio or see Alfie’s book in the shops, try not to be too angry at them. These vanilla humans, while calculated in their rise to success, are just whatever people. They deserve a modicum of ire for their sheer tyrannical self-aggrandisement, but not so much that it’s hurtful for them. They’re just wealthy young morons feeding people a fantasy.

Michael Owen, David Coulthard, June Sarpong, Maggot from Goldie Lookin’ Chain, my postman; vanilla people have always existed in the margins of our daily lives. They’re inoffensive for the most part, naturally. But when pushed in front of us their prosaic manner and dull personas have the potential to enrage, because you expect entertainment but what you get is shit.

This isn’t where we should want entertainment to go. These aren’t the people we should want on our televisions, singing our songs or acting in our films. They’re walking definitions of mediocrity, and the only way they’ll stay online where they belong is if you refuse to accept their presence anywhere else. The war on the vanilla people might be a long and bloody struggle. But at least I’ll be able to turn the telly or the radio on without some cunt trying and failing to muster the charisma of Lee fucking Evans.

The song’s about Britney’s insecurities of her boyfriend cheating on her. In the Joseph Kahn-directed music video, Brit checks her man’s phone to see a woman named Cindy texting.

Star Magazine claim the girl David Lucado was filmed making out with is a “retired adult performer and exotic dancer” named Cindy.

The tape is shocking,” a source tells the tab. “David is slow-dancing with the woman before sweeping her off her feet and passionately making out with her.”

“What’s worse is that there are rumored to be other videotapes and other women out there as well…She was ready to marry him. Now she’s totally destroyed.”

One person who isn’t destroyed by the breakup is daddy Jamie Spears. “He never liked David from the start,” the source says.

And Whoreney is Horney! She's skippin' the date and hoppin' right in the sack! Slut a bit!

I was there on Wednesday night when she said that and I'm ngl, I'm a little depressed at how low her energy was, I'm cutting her slack with her current situation but I'd been looking forward to that all year and was pretty meh :(
