V Magazine is preparing to launch its fall “Rebel” issue on September 10, and it looks like they’re going big, considering their recruitment of the most controversial and rebellious star of the moment, Miley Cyrus. The cover photo appeared on The Fashion Spot on Wednesday, showing the “We Can’t Stop” singer sitting atop a mountain of plush toys in a barely-there leotard.

Rihanna checks out $18M Manhattan pad

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

Rihanna may be tweeting bikini photos from her beach vacation, following her successful Monster Tour with Eminem, but she still has New York City on her mind.

The pop star recently checked out the 10th floor of One York, designed by starchitect Enrique Norten. The floor — currently configured as three separate apartments — is on the market for $18 million, with James Cox, of Urban Compass, as listing broker. Cox declined to comment.

Rihanna, we hear, drove into One York’s private garage in a black SUV with paparazzi on her tail. She was fashionably decked out in a long black chiffon jacket and heels — “as if she was going to be performing. It wasn’t an everyday look,” our spy said, adding that the singer came with an entourage of five, including a personal assistant.

The floor requires work — all three units would need to be combined. When completed, it will be a 5,350-square-foot, four-bedroom, 4½ -bathroom knockout. But we hear she wants something more turnkey.

Residents include savvy real estate investor/night club impresario Michael Hirtenstein and writer Emily Stone, author of “Did Jew Know: A Handy Primer on the Customs, Culture and Practice of the Chosen People.”

Rihanna Rocks A Crochet Skirt As A Dress In Capri

Aside from posing, (which no one does as fierce as RiRi), the star stepped out for dinner — and we love the way she rocked her crochet outfit. Although it looks like a dress, (and can easily be converted into one), it’s actually a skirt! The star sported the Natalie Martin ‘Crochet ‘Ness’ Long Skirt,’ which is available at Barney’s for $215. While usually a see-through crochet skirt would be reserved for the beach, RiRi transformed it into a fabulous evening look — and we wouldn’t expect anything less from the star. Get the dress HERE.

Yahoo Passes on Saving Enlisted From Cancellation
By Kaitlin Thomas

This is sadder than Toy Story 3.

After Yahoo swooped in and brought Community back from the dead, fans of Fox's Enlisted hoped the online service would do the same for their fallen soldier, which was canceled in May after just one season.

But according to TV Line, negotiations have ended and Yahoo won't be saving the fan-favorite series after all.

The announcement comes on the heels of the news that Enlisted star Geoff Stults has landed a recurring role on the CBS comedy The Odd Couple as a former baseball player. He'll also recur as Jane Fonda's son-in-law on Netflix's upcoming series Grace and Frankie.

Created by Kevin Biegel, Enlisted starred Stults, Chris Lowell, and Parker Young as three brothers assigned to rear detachment at a fictional army base.

Will you miss Enlisted?

Glenn Beck's The Blaze Talks to Time Warner About Replacing HLN

$

In an ongoing effort to revamp HLN, Time Warner's CNN has been talking to Glenn Beck‘s The Blaze as a possible partner, an individual with knowledge of the talks told TheWrap.

The Blaze is a conservative 24-hour news and entertainment network funded by subscriptions and founded by Beck, a right-wing talk show host who built a huge following on Fox.

An insider told TheWrap that The Blaze gave Time Warner two proposals, but neither went anywhere. Another individual with knowledge of the talks said the possibility of a joint venture is not dead — they're just not active. Under the proposed partnership, Beck's Blaze would take over HLN's spot on the proverbial TV dial.

The Blaze is available on 70 television providers nationwide. In the first half of 2014, the distributor base for The Blaze has grown by 50 percent. TheBlaze.com, which features written content, receives more than 25 million unique visitors per month.

Coincidentally — or perhaps not — Beck recently took part in a very revealing interview with CNN's Brian Stelter. On the more liberal cable news network, Beck showed a much softer side than Fox News and The Blaze fans may be used to seeing.

Time Warner has also been in talks with the online news network Vice, cofounded by Shane Smith. No deal is in place there either.

HLN in its current state could use Beck's following. The channel is consistently in fourth place among total viewers, falling behind Fox News Channel, HLN's sister network, CNN, and MSNBC. In certain metrics, however, HLN edges past MSNBC.

For the last full quarter, 2014's Q2, HLN was fourth in primetime, tumbling 34 percent year-over-year to 340,000 total viewers and dropping 30 percent in the key 25-54 cable news demo to 124,000.

Across a total day demo measurement, HLN's Q2 was down 26 percent year-over-year to an average of 105,000 viewers, tying CNN — which was down 35 percent — for second place. The two related cable news channels slightly topped fourth place MSNBC's 103,000 viewers, which had slipped 16 percent. Fox News was once again in first place per the metric.

Some of HLN's high-profile shows include 6 a.m.'s “Morning Express With Robin Meade,” 7 p.m.'s “Jane Velez-Mitchell,” “Nancy Grace” at 8, “Dr. Drew on Call” at 9 and “Forensic Files” at 10.

News of the talks comes just days after Turner Broadcasting System CEO John Martin revealed in an internal memo Tuesday that corporate restructuring was coming in the next two months. ”Division leaders now are reviewing the working groups’ reports on their respective areas of oversight,” Martin wrote. “Over the coming weeks, they will work with me to finalize the organizational changes we will implement.”

Time Warner-owned Turner is the parent company of HLN.

Martin's note also stated that the company will ”start 2015 a more streamlined, nimble and efficient company focused on driving programming, monetization and innovation, in a culture that emphasizes and rewards continuous improvement.”

Ontd, will you lose any faves if HLN gets replaced by The Blaze?

Looks like we may never find out who got gunned down out there by the skeet range.

TVLine has learned that A&E has cancelled Longmire, which ended its third season earlier this month. The sad news comes almost a year to the day after A&E pulled the plug on The Glades after four seasons.

“We would like to thank the phenomenal cast, crew and producers of Longmire, along with our partners at Warner Horizon, for their tireless work on three seasons of quality dramatic storytelling,” reads a statement from A&E. “We are incredibly proud of what we have achieved together.”

Sources tell TVLine that producer Warner Horizon will shop the Wyoming-set crime drama to other networks.

Longmire wrapped Season 3 with an audience of 3.7 million total viewers and a 0.6 demo rating, down 16 and 45 percent from its sophomore finale.

Telluride and Toronto Lineups: A Critical Crystal Ball

$
0
0

By virtue of its rapturous reception at its world premiere on opening night of the Venice Film Festival, it appears that the "the season" already has a pace-setter by the name of Birdman. In terms of explosive cinematic style and viewer exhilaration, Alejandro G. Inarritu's breathlessly stylish look at a once-famous actor trying to make a comeback would be hard to beat in any year, which is not to say that many films won't give it a shot. And several of them will be unveiled over the next two weeks, first over Labor Day weekend at the Telluride Film Festival, where both 12 Years A Slave and Gravity first turned heads a year ago, and then at the cinematic blow-out in Toronto, where an announced total of 143 films will have their world premieres.

With so many world premieres on offer this year, Toronto now looks quite peevish indeed having declared a vendetta against Telluride for presuming to snare a handful of world bows for itself; does Toronto really feel it has to have absolutely everything first to retain its position? In any event, Toronto, having abandoned its policy of always opening with a Canadian film, will launch with the world premiere of David Dobkin's family legal drama The Judge, starring Robert Downey Jr. and Robert Duvall, which can only be an improvement over last year's ill-advised opener, The Fifth Estate.

How The Sims 4 Will Be Different From The Sims 3 (Preview)

$
0
0

Life's possibilities are endless. By extension, a game series intending to simulate life would also hope to have endless possibilities. The Sims series has attempted to encompass this, spawning four core games and over 50 add-on packs. Despite the accumulation of all this content, it still felt as though there was something missing. The Sims 4 attempts to address this by bringing to the series what EA is calling personality and emotions, which would drive Sim behavior.

Curious as to what this would entail, I got hands-on with the game for a few hours at a preview event. At first glance, creating a Sim and assigning aspirations was not a dramatic departure from the creation tools of previous Sims games. In fact, I recognized the neat, creative, and perfectionist traits as some of the many returning Sim characteristics. Keen to try something new, I made sure my Sim had the new "self-assured" trait, which I later discovered helped trigger an emotional state in my Sim. This is because The Sims 4 sees a new focus on Sims' personalities and quirks by introducing new emotions that reflect them. Displayed in-game as a moodlet icon and shown through their expressions on the heads-up display, the emotional state of my Sim had an effect on the subsequent actions she undertook.

I spent my first few moments of the game looking at the available options and examining the HUD. This left my Sim idle for a while, and she became bored. Acting autonomously, my Sim proceeded to the wardrobe to try on different clothes. The result saw her gain a morale boost from trying on new outfits, putting her in a confident mood that would last late into the night. This newfound confident emotion affected how my Sim would carry out her actions, turning simple tasks such as using the toilet into "Pee Like a Champion." According to the moodlet buff, because my Sim had the personality trait of being self-assured, she was more likely to frequently experience these bouts of confidence.

Different actions sent my Sim into different emotional states. For example, hitting the nightclub for a few glasses of juice put my Sim in a flirty mood, which increased the success rate of her attempts to hit on other Sims. Later at home, my Sim found her spirits lifted in a refreshing shower. Emerging inspired, she would go on to receive a boost in her efforts to learn to play the guitar.

That is, once I purchased one for her. Much like in previous Sims games, the Buy mode in The Sims 4 catalogs items by function or room type. However, I was now able to search directly for the item I was looking for, negating the need to browse through pages of objects that I wasn't interested in. Typing the word "guitar" in the search bar returned the results I was looking for, and moments later my inspired Sim was jamming away on the instrument.

While certain items in Buy mode had set color options, the flexible Create a Style tool from The Sims 3 was noticeably absent. Gone was the ability to set custom patterns on objects and pick colors from a color wheel that supported even hex color codes. Although there were a variety color schemes on offer for objects, I was disappointed to find out that I could no longer match all my furniture to my favourite shade of cream. Instead, I had to pick and choose from the available shades offered for each piece of furniture, decor, and appliance.

However, that dream could always be fulfilled with the implementation of mods. User-generated custom content will be fully supported in The Sims 4 and simplified in its integration. Wherein The Sims 3 players had to upload their creations externally on The Exchange, the tool to share user-created content is now built into the game with a feature called The Gallery. Players will be able to create content and upload it straight away, or import other players' creations without having to exit their game.

Living out my consumerist fantasies with my Sim was fun, but it quickly became clear that I required more money; my Sim needed to get a job to earn Simoleons. Unlike in real life, getting a job was surprisingly straightforward. Gone were the days of searching newspapers and online postings. Clicking through my Sim's occupation box in the interface brought up a list of exciting careers my Sim could venture into, and I settled on the path of an entertainer.

Going to work was less exciting. My Sim disappeared for hours at a time, seemingly into nothingness, as Sims no longer travel to a visible workplace. Control at work was limited to clicking my Sim's face and selecting whether she would spend time schmoozing her superiors or socializing with colleagues, among other, less exciting options. Oddly enough, when my Sim was at work I was unable to bring up the interface to watch her needs. At one point she became hungry, but because my Sim was not present on the lot I was not able bring up the hunger meter to see just how starved she was.

It was difficult to determine how much her meters had depleted overall once she returned home, as I could not watch her motives while she was working. Going to work presented a strange break in playing the game, leaving me with not much else to do except watch time tick by. However, working does have an influence on moods. My Sim would come home from work in the bored emotional state, putting a real dampener on any socialization her neighbors tried to start up with her.

Regardless, progressing through my Sim's career track provided me with concrete goals. Although I did not manage to ascend to the top of the career ladder in the time I played, I was left with a sense of having achieved something in the time I spent with my Sim. From learning to strum the guitar to starting relationships with other Sims, I felt as though these interactions were only scratching the surface of what was on offer. The introduction of emotional states offers more variables to play with to produce unpredictable results, and I am eager to delve into them in the full game.

Metropolitan Police raided the London home of “Fifty Shades of Grey” director, Sam Taylor-Johnson and “Kick-Ass” star, Aaron Taylor-Johnson.

“Police were called at 23:40 hours on Thursday by a member of the public, reporting that they had seen from the street, what they thought was a firearm, sitting on a desk by the window of a property,” said a spokesman for the Metropolitan Police (Via The Hollywood Reporter). “Local officers and officers from the Met’s Firearms Unit attended and were let into the property to examine the firearm. It was confirmed that the firearm was a deactivated M16 rifle.”

A spokeswoman for the couple released a statement revealing that the Taylor-Johnsons were not present when the police came but that they had “gained entry via a key holder.”

The statement also explained that the weapon in questions was part of an art project.

“The firearm was located in Sam Taylor-Johnson’s basement studio and has been confirmed as a certified and fully decommissioned M16 assault rifle that was provided to Mrs Taylor-Johnson by the international charity Peace One Day as part of an art project entitled ‘Peace One Day M16′. The project, curated by Jake Chapman, consists of new works by some of the most celebrated names in contemporary art all of whom are transforming fully decommissioned M16 assault rifles.”

According to BBC News, no arrests have been made.

A rep for Sam Taylor-Johnson, 47, could not be immediately reached for comment.

Kendall Jenner Will Go Just By Kendall For Modelling Gigs.

Like old school models Iman or Twiggy, Kendall Jenner is just Kendall now. Her agency, The Society Management, has dubbed her thusly on their site, even as she's surrounded by NBD names like Adriana Lima, Liu Wen and Lindsey Wixon, each burdened by their last names.

This is probably another attempt to distance herself from the Kardasho-Jenner family lineage, but now it just looks weird, like she's so fancy. It matters not, however, because today, we are all on a first-name basis with Kendall.

Kendall and Kylie Jenner stick together on the red carpet at DuJour Mag Fall 2014 Cover Party held at LAVO in New York City on Thursday night (August 28).

Kendall Jenner and good friend Hailey Baldwin search for a cab on the busy streets of New York City on Friday afternoon (August 29).

Kylie: “get off me bae”

armani: kyliejenner all wrapped up in a plush #EmporioArmani coat for the latest issue of @Vmagazine.

Kylie Jenner is all about working the camera for V magazine’s latest issue.

Here’s what the 17-year-old reality television star and model had to share with the mag:

On growing up in front of the cameras:“We don’t even remember a time before the show and before the cameras and all that, it’s all kind of normal to us.”

On her sci-fi book with sister Kendall:“Originally we were going to do a book revolving around me and Kendall, maybe high school girls or something like that. Then we decided we wanted to do something that no one expected, like a sci-fi novel. So it actually has nothing to do with our life, and that’s what we wanted.”

On her social media following:“I’m obsessed with Instagram, Kendall showed it to me, and my mom was on Twitter before me, so I was kind of the last one in the family to get on social media.”

Mariah Carey Tapped For Vegas Residency?

$

Move over Celine!
After announcing she was to take a leave of absence to care for her ailing husband until next spring, ‘A New Day Has Come’ singer Celine Dion may have seen her decision to do so create a major opportunity for fellow diva Mariah Carey.

Full story below…

TMZ reports:

TMZ has learned the Colosseum — where Celine Dion has had a residency for years — would love to sign soon-to-be single Mariah for a very lucrative weekend engagement. Our sources say the offer that went out was $750k for two shows!

We’re told the Colosseum’s operator, AEG is targeting a bunch of other heavy hitters too, including … Adele, Blake Shelton and Miranda Lambert, Prince, and Bruce Springsteen.

Comedians Chris Rock and Chelsea Handler – who both sell out bigger arenas than the Colosseum which seats about 4,300 — are also wanted.

We’re told this dream list was put together long before Celine’s recent announcement she was taking a leave of absence until next spring to be with her ailing husband.

As it turns out, there will be plenty of open dates to fill. So far no one’s signed on the dotted line.

With Mimi’s album-selling skills seemingly in the gutter, a Vegas residency may be the perfect way for the icon to pave the way for a new era, by introducing the world to a stage show just as magical as her discography.

For as it stands, any expecting Beyonce-sized world tour from the star would be delusional to do so, but would be anything but disappointed if they travelled to Vegas to watch Carey glide through her material in an extravagant show akin to ‘Adventures of Mimi.’

Your thoughts?

How Does The Long-Awaited Story Of Mexican Icon Mario Moreno Hold Up?

$
0
0

Anyone who’s familiar with Mexican cinema (or TV shows for that matter,) knows who Cantinflas was, but not many people know the real story behind the character. This movie, directed by Sebastián del Amo, tells the sentimental story about an actor who began his career in a most unlikely way: sweeping the stages of ambulatory theatres or “carpas” as they called them in Mexico back in the day. Mario Moreno wasn’t looking for much, but if he had to be a boxer or a bullfighter to earn a living, he was always willing to try. With this film we get to see how he found a gift within himself, what he did with it and how it landed him in Hollywood.

Mario Moreno ‘Cantinflas’ became one of the greatest, most beloved comedians in Mexico and there was a lot of controversy about having a Spaniard (Óscar Jaenada,) play the icon. Fortunately he did not disappoint, the actor worked very hard on making sure his performance was as real and as brilliant as it was. Other members of the cast deliver great performances like Luis Gerardo Méndez (Estanislao, Mario Moreno’s brother in law), and Ilse Salas (Valentina, Mario Moreno’s wife) and some were questionable choices like Barbara Mori as Elizabeth Taylor. (LOL)

The movie’s sparked a lot of controversy around it since Mario Moreno is the real discovery here. Yet people are complaining that we don’t get to see many sides of the actor. It is clearly implied that he was very political and “for the people,” because “he was the people, and always would be” but he did make movies on demand for the networks ran by the same government who was as corrupt as they get. In fact, the way it’s presented in the film, the actors political inclinations are somewhat ambiguous, if not glorified. The cinematography and music fill the movie with nostalgia for a Mexico full of color, folklore, and pride, despite its political times. Moviegoers will surely enjoy getting to know what’s behind the legend and the sacrifices that came from devoting a life to a single, beloved character: ‘Cantinflas.’

Where is my Maria Felix movie, though?

Vegas Banks on Britney Spears Factor to Attract Younger Acts

10623696_277322605793230_466512286_n

“If you build it, they will come” has always been a fairly safe operating principle in Las Vegas, at least as far as the gambling, partying masses are concerned. Whether it’s a safe bet for attracting marquee name pop stars to desert residencies, however, is something that Caesars Entertainment Corp. is about to find out.

Last winter, the Caesars-owned Planet Hollywood opened a permanent residency space for Britney Spears, rebuilding the Axis Theater into a 4,600-seat venue that functions as a hybrid performance venue and nightclub, with state-of-the-art production facilities and a bottle service-style customer experience designed by nightlife entrepreneur Victor Drai. The initial results were immensely promising: The star sold out every night of her “Britney: Piece of Me” run, with dates scheduled all the way through spring 2015.

This represents a major turnaround for a theater that, per Spears’ manager Larry Rudolph, was something of a “white elephant … a 7,000-seat arena that was booked for maybe 10 shows a year” prior to Spears’ arrival. Yet Spears only performs three nights a week, with weeks-long breaks programmed into her schedule. So the question of how to exploit the $20 million theater — and in doing so, use Spears’ residency as a proof of concept to attract a new breed of acts — remains a pressing one.

Caesars has been here before. Eleven years ago, the casino constructed a dedicated performance space for Celine Dion, which served to inaugurate an era of boomer-friendly major musician residencies— from Elton John and Barry Manilow to Carlos Santana and Garth Brooks — that filled seats across the Strip and left oldies-act residencies like the Four Tops and the Temptations in the dust. Now, Vegas hopes to pull the same trick with a new generation.

“What we need to do, that we have not yet finalized, is to put other young residency artists in there around Britney’s schedule,” says Caesars Entertainment prexy and CEO Gary Loveman. “At Caesars, we have Shania Twain and Celine and Elton John and Rod Stewart, and they rotate through the calendar year, so if you’re in town for the fashion conference this year, you see Celine. If you came last year you saw Elton; the year before that, Rod. So every time you’re in town you have a new A-plus performer to see. We want to do the same thing at Planet Hollywood, but with a younger generation. You’ll see Britney, then have Katy Perry, Pitbull or whoever it is the next time you’re in town”

While Spears is the first top-drawer millennial pop artist to set up permanent shop in Clark County, her pull with a younger crowd seems the logical outgrowth of Las Vegas’ ongoing demo-
graphic shift.

The explosion of DJ culture that has seen clubs like XS, Light, Surrender and the new Hakkasan fighting for million-dollar turntable talents has testified to the importance of attracting twenty- and thirty-somethings, who previously had little in the way of entertainment that was geared specifically to them.

“Britney and Vegas would not have happened if Vegas hadn’t been changing at the same time,” says Caesars executive VP and chief marketing officer Tariq Shaukat. “It’s a younger place now, a more nightlife-oriented place, it’s becoming much more of an entertainment and culinary destination than a gambling destination, and we have to evolve with that.”

Both Shaukat and Rudolph insist that the interest from artists of Spears’ age and stature is strong, though nailing down long-term commitments from non-heritage acts (who have more recording dates, tours, video shoots and TV performances to negotiate) remains a challenge.

Yet the success of Spears’ residency (and her reported $15 million compensation) certainly makes a strong case, and from the casinos’ perspective, the knock-on benefits are proven.

“The only issue we had to consider at the beginning was whether (Spears fans) would spend any money other than at the show,” Loveman recalls. “We can run a natural test almost any night between a Britney night and a non-Britney night, and we can adjust for day of the week and other events that are happening in town, and I can tell you that Planet Hollywood makes substantially more money when Britney is there than when she isn’t. And in the casino business, that’s a tremendous intangible to have the place feel that active and kinetic.”

The 27-year-old actress opened up about rejection, saying no to things and PLL. Check it:

On rejection:“I was working at a restaurant before I was offered the opportunity to work in this, and if I had given up the first time I was rejected I would not be here. That’s why I believe everybody can reach their dreams, they just have to fight and believe in themselves.”

On passing on things:“I believe it’s important to grab and work with what you can sustain, there are times when you have to say no. It’s something I’ve learned, although in the beginning I would have said yes to all the work coming my way and in the end I would have been exhausted and this would not have been good for anyone. I think it all falls down to saying no sometimes, and knowing when to take the opportunity at the right time.”

On PLL:“Our fans are the best, they have been supporting us since the beginning and that’s why our show has been such a success since the beginning and we will be filming for two more years.”

How Involved is Neil Gaiman in the ‘American Gods’ TV Series?

$
0
0

It’s been two months since executive producer Bryan Fuller (“Hannibal“) was officially attached to “American Gods,” the upcoming STARZ television series based on the popular fantasy novel by award-winning author Neil Gaiman. Since then we’ve heard little about the project. We know Fuller is executive producing with his fellow “Heroes” alumni Michael Green, and we assume the series will follow the book’s main characters, Shadow and Wednesday, a messenger of and one of the “American Gods” respectively, but how will Fuller and Green adapt this book into a series, and how involved will Neil Gaiman be in the development?

“Right now we are breaking the third episode, and then if it does go, it would start filming sometime mid-to-late 2015 and probably wouldn't be on anybody’s television until 2016. But that’s cruising along very nicely,“ Bryan Fuller told CraveOnline.

When asked whether the series would follow the events of “American Gods” closely, like HBO’s “Game of Thrones,” or use them as a jumping off point, Bryan Fuller elaborated: “It’s basically the following the events of the books but expanding those events, and expanding the point of view to go above and beyond Shadow and Wednesday. In that way, as with ‘Game of Thrones,’ there are dozens of characters that you’re tracking through the events and that’s probably the biggest similarities between the worlds, in that there’s a wide variety of characters at play.”

But will the “American Gods” series also include events and characters from the novel’s follow-up, Anansi Boys? Fuller says, “I believe that we have permission to use – since Anansi Boys are in the world of American Gods – that we would be allowed to use those as well.”

And how involved will Neil Gaiman be in the development of “American Gods?” Will he be as active as George R.R. Martin is with “Game of Thrones?”

“Neil’s executive producing and he’s very involved. He’s given birth to the baby, raised to the baby, and now Michael Green and I are marrying the baby. [...] So the relationship is similar in that way, where he is absolutely integral to the process and also very excited just to see it coming together in the fashion that it is.”

But the real question is, with Neil Gaiman writing television now (including two episodes of BBC’s “Doctor Who“), will he write any episodes himself?

“He’d better,” jokes Bryan Fuller. “He’d god damn well better.”

Our complete interview with executive producer Bryan Fuller about Season 2 and Season 3 of “Hannibal” is coming soon at CraveOnline. The Blu-ray of “Hannibal: Season 2″ hits stores on September 16, 2014.

Gay Singer Rufus Wainwright Glad He Had A Daughter Because He Fears He Would Find His Son Sexy!

We hope he's joking. Speaking to The Times, the Canadian singer-songwriter said he is grateful to have recently fathered a daughter rather than a son because he would 'hate to be attracted' to a son.

'I don’t think it would happen,' he apparently laughed in response. '[It's just that] when I'm old and he is 35 and gorgeous ... Well he would probably look like me. And I would be like, "Oh my God! I’m falling in love with myself!"'

You might be thinking this is something that might lose someone a lot of fans in the LGBTI community, but apparently Wainwright isn't bothered.

He said he is happy to not have a huge LGBTI following, claiming gay men have 'terrible taste in music'. Wainwright also believes being gay has held back his career in the US.

'If I had been somewhat more strategic and less honest with asexual or bisexual persona, I think I would have been given a lot more opportunity and attention,' he said.

'But that being said I feel that my public, who have been with me a while now, have been grateful and appreciative of my honesty and are loyal.'
