Tonight’s “Game of Thrones” was a grand finale, and what a finale it was.

“The Children” had just about everything that you could possibly hope for and then some. It is not only the greatest finale that the series has ever seen, but it may also be one of the best episodes in the series’ entire history. Almost every story had a big moment, and this felt like much less of an afterthought than what we had at the end of past years.

Without further ado, let’s dive into anything and everything that happened across all of the various storylines.

Beyond the Wall - Who saw this story coming? We knew that Stannis Baratheon was going to be making a move soon, but for some reason this arrival completely floored us as his army conquered the Wilding camp led by Mance Rayder, and then used Jon Snow (who revealed his true identity) to determine his fate. This was a miracle for Jon, even if he was starting to come to terms with the King Beyond the Wall on how to move forward.

As if this was not a great enough coda for the Jon story this season, we had him personally setting fire to Ygritte’s body, giving her the send-off he felt she truly deserved. Maybe there is a part of him that genuinely did want to stay in that cave.

Bran Stark - This is also in a similar part of the north, but it deserved its own thread thanks to the progress we had here as Bran started to discover his purpose. He met the Three-Eyed Raven in human form, saw the Children, and also witnessed the sad death of Jojen, who knew he was going to be dying from the moment that he embarked on this journey with them.

Meereen - For some reason, Dany chaining up her dragons was one of the most emotional moments we’ve had for her since the start of the series. We could tell that she never wanted to do such a thing, but was forced into it by them burning up townspeople, eating them, and then spitting up the charred bones.

Arya and the Hound - Is this the end of the Hound as we know it? The beauty of this show is that it can make the death of even a pretty awful person something emotional. He went at the hands of Brienne in what was one of the most awesome fight scenes we’ve ever seen. Arya would not kill the Hound, but we assume that, pending a miracle, he is gone.

As for Arya, she has started a new voyage aboard a ship, and this will lead her to another exciting story that puts her in a completely new place.

King’s Landing - Now, we turn to what was a main event for many who were waiting for this moment on the show. Not after seemingly reconciling with Cercei, Jaime Lannister did a particularly shocking thing and freed Tyrion with the help of Varys.

But, Tyrion of course could not leave well enough alone. He learned the true nature of Shae’s betrayal in an incredibly heartbreaking scene done by Peter Dinklage, and that was just the start of it. He then killed Tywin while he was relieving himself of all places, and it was probably the worst Father’s Day moment of all time.

Tyrion is definitely going to have to lay low now, but it is fair to say that the death of Tywin means more politically even than that of Joffrey.

As for this episode, amazing. Simply something that we’re going to be talking about for the rest of the year and then some. Grade: A+.

TODAY’S JUNK FOOD: Mariah Carey’s Butterfly Drink!
Yes, that’s right.  I said Mariah Carey’s Butterfly drink.  She has a drink.  I’m sure this won’t go horribly wrong.

I first spotted Mariah Carey’s Butterfly drink on The Impulsive Buy, and instantly knew I had to try this ridiculousness.  Let me say this: this blog post is not about Mariah Carey.  I think Mariah Carey is uber talented.  One of the greatest diva singers of our time.  And her Heartbreaker video is one of the hottest music videos I’ve ever seen.

Anyways, I say this to admit that when it comes to Mariah Carey, I am a fan.  I don’t have her Greatest Hits downloaded or anything, but I’m not hating on HER.
But when it comes to a “melodic beverage inspired by the magic of Mariah Carey”…well, here we go:

    0
Mariah Carey’s Butterfly was purchased at Walgreens. The cashier definitely gave me the raised eyebrow when I bought this. Well, don’t sell it in the store if you’re gonna make me feel like a creep for buying it, jerk! Keep your judgment as I buy this Mariah Carey drink and eight boxes of Oreo cookies.  KEEP IT.

    0
“A melodic beverage inspired by the magic of Mariah Carey.” Somebody at some branding firm actually wrote this copy.  They did.  They proofed it.  They chose the simple font. The drink is CALLED “Butterfly”? Ridiculous.

    0
This I similarly did not understand.  I already don’t ever use QR codes…and this looks NOTHING like a QR code.  Is there a chip or something embedded unseen in the ink? Plus, why is it spelled N’Syde? I get that it corresponds to the brand…but did someone choose to spell it this way?  Was it Lou Perlman?

    0
*shudder* These ingredients are not inspiring. Sodium benzoate is not the magic of Mariah.

    0
See? Somebody wrote THIS copy too on this bottle of Mariah Carey’s Butterfly. Pamper myself with a sip? This stuff better be good.

    0
I screwed the top off of this Mariah Carey’s Butterfly, and sniffed and WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO that stuff is pungent.  It smelled like gummy bears, flowers, and Fresca.  Oh no.  I fear this will be like drinking a bottle of perfume. Like, the perfume a teenage girl might wear.  I’m actually afraid.

    0
I took a drink of the slightly pink Mariah Carey’s Butterfly drink, and ….and…holy hell, this has to be one of the worst/scariest things I’ve ever consumed.  I’m sorry, Mariah.  Your voice is lovely. But this drink is not.  My face twisted up and I grimaced audibly after gulping a mouthful of this drink.

It tasted, literally, like liquid sugar-free gummy bears.  No joke.  The general gummy bear flavor, I believe, is spot on.  I say sugar-free because I got that weird blend of sugar and sucralose flavor – you know, the kind when you drink sugar-free drinks.  Which I don’t like.  At times I also caught weird floral notes – borderline soapy.
The Junk Good Gal took a sip and thought it tasted like liquid bubblegum.  Either way, this was horrible. I imagine this is what polyjuice potion tastes like.  Would not buy again. Ever.

You might have to wait till next season of Orange is the New Black to get Flaca's backstory, but in the meantime, here's some backstory on Jackie Cruz, the actress portraying Flaca!

Cruz originally moved to Miami to pursue a singing career; she instead ended up jumpstarting her acting career with a stint on Kourtney and Khloe Take Miami, Season 1 (2010)! See screencaps of her appearance behind the cut.

Jackie meets Kourtney in an art class, where they bond over their lack of art skills

They have lunch together, where Jackie reveals she left NY to get away from her boyfriend and that since coming to Miami, she has been dating girls.

Jackie takes Kourtney and Khloe to a lesbian club, where Jackie and Kourtney share a brief kiss.

The three go out again, and Jackie and Kourtney make out; Kourtney later feels guilty for leading Jackie on, and tells her she doesn't want to date.

Jackie reappears in season 2, where Kourtney uses her to make Scott jealous; it doesn't work and Scott ends up flashing them instead.

And an excerpt of Bitchin' Lifestyle's interview with Cruz, regarding her appearance on the show:

AP: Let’s get this out of the way – some people may recognize you from a couple episodes on Kourtney and Khloe Take Miami. Were you randomly at a painting workshop or did you have to audition to be part of the show?

JC: I always wanted to take art classes and I always passed by this art school on Lincoln road. I decided to sign up and Kourtney was in my class. It was all very random. I thought she was really funny and we hit it off quite well.

AP: Having appeared alongside one of the Kardashian’s in a reality show, do you think that it a positive or negative impact on your career?

JC: I definitely think it had a positive impact in my career because people got to know my name and what I was doing in my life. Kourtney is such a sweet person, and yes we are still friends. Now and than we text each other to see how we are both doing.

  • 06/15/14--20:08: Prince George is walking

  • Prince George has been photographed walking with the help of his mother, the Duchess of Cambridge.

His tentative steps were captured on Sunday as princes William and Harry lined up on opposing sides in the Jerudong Trophy at Cirencester Park Polo Club.

It is believed to be the first time the baby prince has been seen taking to two feet in public.

George - who is third in line to the throne - will turn one next month.

He was also seen playing football on the sidelines of the charity polo match.

It was an "impromptu family day out", Clarence House said.

George looked content as he concentrated on his first few public steps at a polo match on Sunday

It wasn't all smiles for the prince, though.

On the polo pitch, the Duke of Cambridge and Prince Harry were on opposing teams

    That's right, I got swagger.

Frank Grillo may play one of the few good guys in this summer's thriller The Purge: Anarchy, but when it comes to the Marvel Universe, he's as bad as they come. His Crossbones character was introduced in Captain America: The Winter Soldier, and though the man otherwise known as Brock Rumlow was left for dead at the end of that franchise sequel, the actor is very optimistic that Crossbones will return in Captain America 3.

Speaking with Collider at The Purge: Anarchy junket, Frank Grillo teased his villain's probable resurrection, claiming everything that Marvel does on screen is there for a reason. "I'm cautiously optimistic that you will see me in the not too distant future in the next installment of Captain America."

While Crossbones started out as an ally in Captain America: The Winter Soldier, he soon turned to the dark side, and he took quite a beating for this decision. He wasn't left in great shape, but that didn't worry Frank Grillo at all.

"Very early on the [directors] said, 'Look, this is an origin film for this character. We're gonna discover who this is and this is a big movie with a lot of moving parts, but we're gonna discover you in this film and, you know, here's the information about who Brock Rumlow turns into...And so we've had multiple discussions about what comes after that, that thing. So, you know, it's obvious Rumlow is covered in rubble and burned to crisp at the end, but you see he's still there. They don't do that for no reason."

How will Crossbones cover up his scarred body? Frank Grillo has an idea. "He needs a costume! Coincidentally it could be a mask with a crossbones on it."

Are you excited about the possible return of Crossbones in Captain America 3, or do you want to move onto other new characters?
Captain America 3 comes to theaters May 6th, 2016. The film is directed by Anthony Russo, Joe Russo.

The X-Men franchise is going to continue its trend of time-hopping for its next installment, X-Men: Apocalypse. While the original trilogy took place in the present day, the films have jumped around considerably since then. Origins: Wolverine went from the American Revolutionary War to the 1970s, First Class took us to 1962, The Wolverine jumped from 1945 to the present day, and Days of Future Past went from the near future to 1973. Back in March, director Bryan Singer revealed that Apocalypse would explore (and destroy) the 1980s, and we now know exactly when that will be.

Days of Future Past scribe and producer Simon Kinberg, who appeared on the latest episode of Q & A with Jeff Goldsmith, revealed that Apocalypse is set in 1983, ten years after the events of Days of Future Past.

For those keeping track at home, that means that Apocalypse takes place 21 years after First Class. With younger cast members James McAvoy, Michael Fassbender, Jennifer Lawrence, and Nicholas Hoult all confirmed to return, will we start to see signs of aging? Perhaps it’s time for McAvoy to start losing some hair or for Magneto to start going grey. Meanwhile, Lawrence and Hoult will probably stay relatively unchanged, thanks to the effect of their physique-altering mutations.

The most intriguing thing about Apocalypse’s time frame is that it will allow for younger versions of some staple members of the X-Men, namely Cyclops, Jean Grey, Storm, Gambit (to be played by Channing Tatum) and possibly Nightcrawler, to enter the story. Hopefully, we’ll finally get to see these fan-favorites where they belong – under the tutelage of Xavier and honing their skills.

Additionally, the ten-year jump allows for several intriguing storytelling possibilities. How has the general opinion towards mutants changed since the events of DOFP? Has the world gotten more dangerous for mutants since the things that happened with the Sentinel program? And has Wolverine gone into the Weapon X program and received his adamantium claws?

Hopefully, all of these questions and more will be answered when X-Men: Apocalypse hits theaters on May 27th, 2016.

Forget books or teddy bears - for baby North West only diamonds will do.
And as Kim Kardashian, 33, and Kanye West, 37, stepped out with their daughter on her first birthday, they revealed shiny new stones in her ears.
The studs were a new addition for the one-year-old - they were not seen in pictures from her parents wedding last month.

The earrings were revealed as Kim and Kanye took her to the Children's Museum Of Manhattan in honour of her special day.

While piercing children's ears is a controversial choice, in some cultures it is seen as a traditional step for young girls.

Within the Armenian culture, which is Kim's heritage, it is not usually a typical practice.

Little North was wearing a white dress, coordinating with the Keeping Up With The Kardashians star.

Showing off her svelte post-baby body, the reality TV star wore a tight off-white shirt and high-waisted olive green pencil skirt with lace-up booties.

Kim matched her daughter by wearing big diamond stud earrings.

And she made a point of wearing her gold 'north' necklace in honour of the special day.

Kanye coordinated with the pair, wearing a white T-shirt with his ripped denim trousers and tennis shoes.

With North being the couple's first and only child, Sunday was bound to be one for the books.

And it deemed to be special for grandma Kris Jenner, 58, too.

Kim Kardashian's mother posted a picture of North on Instagram, saying: 'Happy 1st Birthday to my beautiful Granddaughter North!!!! You are an angel and I love you so very much!!! #lovebug #pinchthosecheeks.'

Avengers 2: Age of Ultron is currently filming at the UEA Campus Norwich in England, and we have the only video from the set. It's a Cinema Blend exclusive. Watch as Joss Whedon films an entire scene with Chris Hemsworth as Thor, Chris Evans as Captain America, and Robert Downey Jr. as Tony Stark, right here…

It's no secret that after the events of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. and Captain America: The Winter Soldier that there are a LOT of job openings for recruits in the Strategic Homeland Intervention, Enforcement and Logistics Division. We still haven't seen the impact events of The Avengers made on Tony Stark's shiny new office tower. You know, the one he finished just in time to witness the Chitauri invasion? Well, if you have the same questions we do, then this video may offer a few clues.

In the video, we see a bunch of what looks like recruits jogging on top of or around what could be part of the recently renovated Avengers Tower. Considering the last thing we see at the end of The Avengers is Tony Stark already drawing up plans for a newly designed headquarters, and the fact that we saw the tower's re-branding confirmed thanks to Captain America: The Winter Soldier, we know that Avengers Tower is being used for something other than Tony Stark's personal playground in The Avengers: Age Of Ultron. Perhaps it's training the next generation of badasses.

Given that Director Phil Coulson is now in charge of S.H.I.E.L.D., and he looks up to (who else) Steve Rogers/Captain America, I'd be willing to bet that these are new S.H.I.E.L.D recruits training up as the first class since the H.Y.D.R.A made their lives a living hell. Keeping this in mind, it would also be a safe assumption that the new uniforms are a stylish blue in tribute to the first Avenger himself. Also, it's a nice change from the simple black uniforms everyone wore, and considering Tony Stark is kind of fond of blue from his arc reactor days, the decision was probably a mutual one. Let's just hope Clark Gregg gets that phone call for an extended cameo in The Avengers: Age Of Ultron, because a reunion between Tony and Phil would be one of those moments that'd easily make any top 10 moments of summer 2015 list. Speaking of the friends of Phil, why is Thor calling down the lightning on set?

When you consider how the events of Thor: The Dark World panned out, maybe this this time out Thor's a reluctant warrior. After all, he's just given up the throne of Asgard and started to settle down in England with Jane Foster. Since his favorite travel method is throwing Mjolnir into the sky and taking off for parts unknown, he's probably been summoned to talk with Tony and Steve, only to leave. Of course, it could also go the other way and we'll see Thor spring into solo action investigating some piece of the puzzle himself (or maybe with another Avengers teammate). Either way, it would appear that Thor's departure would then leave Captain America and Iron Man to converse about what their next plan of attack is (and who better for the job?). And that's all well and good, provided that Chris Hemsworth can keep up his skills with his hammer:

A lot of changes seem in store for The Avengers: Age Of Ultron, and with production being quite far along the path to completion, expect to start seeing Marvel slowly leak out more and more official material to slake our thirst for knowledge. At this moment, the new Avengers Tower looks tricked out and ready for action. Tony Stark, Steve Rogers, and Thor all look ready for action too, and we're almost certainly in store for another first act of the character building that Joss Whedon excels at with these types of projects. We're hungry for more after getting this little taste, so stick around. If we land other awesome tidbits of Avengers action, you can bet we'll send them your way!

The Avengers: Age Of Ultron will be rocking the world when it hits theaters on May 1st, 2015.

Claim: Facebook account from actor Ryan Gosling describes the loss of his adopted child.

Coming from Ryan Gosling fan page on Facebook:
“This father's day, I've decided to tell the story of how I became a father. This little guy was only 9 months old when I became his dad. His mom and I were great friends before she passed away from cancer. I promised her, I'd always look after him. So, I had decided to step up and become his dad. He brought me so much joy. He was my everything. 1 year later after the adoption, his biological father wanted him. Of course, I put up a fight, but he won. That 1 year of being his father taught me how to love unconditionally. We have to stop and be thankful for our children and children should stop and be thankful for their parents. What I truly learned most of all is, every child needs love.”

    Is this true?

Origins: The above-reproduced post from a Ryan Gosling fan page on Facebook purportedly describes the tear-jerking story of how the actor once adopted a nine-month-old boy after the infant's mother, a friend of his, passed away from cancer — only to lose the child a year later when his biological father reclaimed him.

As far as we know, there is nothing to this story: we've found no previous account of Ryan Gosling ever having an adoptive child, much less losing one. Moreover, the URL included at the end of the Facebook post, supposedly a link readers can follow to help "Save thousands of children," simply leads to a site hawking Limited Edition Ryan Gosling Clothing, leading many viewers to suspect that the original Facebook post was simply a fabricated tale intended to drive web users to an online merchandise outlet.

Quick: if you were the 2014 Bonnaroo festival organizers, what would you book at the same time as the Skrillex Superjam, a three- hour extravaganza featuring every genre, artist and musical texture you could possibly imagine? If your answer was an act that was the polar opposite, you might pick Frank Ocean, who graced The Other Tent at roughly 12:30 am on Saturday night (June 14) and delivered one of the festival’s most calming sets.

The R&B singer said very little to the crowd as he took the stage wearing a simple pink hoodie, easing into “Thinkin Bout You,” “Lost” and then the "Nostalgia/Ultra" favorite “Novacane.” The stage setup was as stripped-down as the music -- Ocean was alone, no drummer or guitar player, and opted to cover the set’s backdrop with metallic gold streamers. The music, presumably coming from a DJ booth somewhere, was a different mix from what users would have heard on any of his albums. It was a raw, minimal version of what listeners heard on "Channel Orange."
Frank Ocean has yet to drop much new music since "Channel Orange" was released two years ago, but he has shown up as a featured artist on a few tracks. He opted not to play these tracks outright on Saturday night, and instead used them as transition songs: his verse from Kanye West’s “New Slaves” was used to transition out of “Novacane,” and the instrumental from Beyonce’s “Superpower” was used as the outro to “Crack Rock.”
Frank Ocean has stunning power over the crowd with just his presence. His onstage demeanor matches how soft-spoken he is during interviews, and at times, it was hard to even hear him sing, because the crowd knew every word to every single one of his songs. In fact, during portions of “Forrest Gump” and “Sweet Life,” he wasn’t even singing, and was instead standing on stage while the music played and the crowd filled in the rest.
“The night goes on -- who is staying out til the sun goes up?” Ocean asked right after playing crowd favorite “Pyramids.” He topped the set with a rare gem, a soft piano line playing as he sang “Wiseman,” a song he originally released just by posting its lyrics to his Tumblr page.
Frank Ocean's live show is so mellow that it’s easy for an eager festival crowd to drown him out with chanting and singing, but that relaxed tone was exactly what was missing from the Bonnaroo lineup, especially on a Saturday filled with amped-up sets from Zedd, Chromeo, Jack White and Cut Copy. With EDM blaring from nearly every tent late into the night hours (and even washing over parts of his quieter tunes), Frank Ocean’s 2014 Bonnaroo set proved to be a much-needed respite from the madness in Manchester.

    Setlist:
    Thinkin Bout You
    Lost
    Novacane
    New Slaves (Kanye West song)
    Crack Rock
    Superpower (Beyoncé song)
    Forrest Gump
    Sweet Life
    Pyramids
