Kim Kardashian has been widely criticised in the past for only donating 10 per cent of profits from her semi-regular eBay clothing auctions to charity.
And now, new figures have come to light detailing just how much that amounts to.
According to Paypal Charitable Giving Fund tax documents obtained by RadarOnline, the star's November auction, benefitting Life Change Community Church in Agoura Hills, California - co-founded by mom Kris Jenner and her long-time friend Pastor Brad Johnson - reaped just $19,975.Last December, the 33-year-old hit out at those questioning her charitable donations, breaking down the numbers in justification.
'When the eBay numbers get broken down, the auction management agency that posts for me gets a percentage for all their hard work, then, eBay listing fees, end of auction fees, eBay Store fees, Paypal fees, etc, all add up to about half the sale. Then I give 10% to charity,' she wrote on her website, under the headline: 'Giving comes from the heart.'
According to those calculations, the auction of unwanted designer garments from the star's wardrobe totalled $399,500, with Kim pocketing a tidy $199,750 at the end of the day, while the Church's cut was less than $20,000.While no-one can deny that's still a hefty sum, it's not like the mom-of-one - who is estimated to be worth around $40 million - needs the cash.
She went to great lengths to defend her herself in her blog, slamming her detractors for questioning her motives.
'I feel compelled to speak about something that is in my head and my heart,' she began her post. 'Over the years, I’ve had to grow a thick skin. Being in the public eye, there are times I feel like I get criticized for any and everything I do. I’m used to it now. I just choose not to feed into negativity or become consumed by it.
'The problem comes in when I get attacked for giving and trying to help people.'
The star revealed that her late father, Robert Kardashian, 'always taught me the importance of giving back' and it's a lesson she has kept with her all these years, whether the public is aware of her charitable deeds or not.'I don’t publicize everything I do to help charities and people all over the world,' she insists. 'I do it because I want to. I do because my dad taught me to. I do it because it’s the right thing to do. So for people to attack me for giving 10% of my eBay auction sales to the people of the Philippines, that hurts.
'I do eBay auctions monthly and change the charity or church from time to time. I give 10% of all my earnings to charities, not just these eBay auctions. This month it’s for the people of the Philippines, last month was Life Change Community Church.'
But not only does the mom-of-one donate 10 per cent of her eBay auctions to charity, she also donates 10 per cent of her earnings from every single endorsement deal.
'Nobody has to give anything, and yet Kim gives 10 per cent of everything and now she is being judged for it,' her rep stated at the time.
Crisis communications expert Glenn Selig told FOX411 his gripe with the star's actions was that she's drumming up publicity for her auction but not raising the profits going to said charity to a more acceptable percentage.
'When you say something is for the charity, the assumption is much more than 10 per cent goes
to charity,' he says. 'And when the charity angle is leveraged to boost bidding or to drum up news coverage, when only 10 per cent goes to charity people likely will be taken. It is wrong to mislead
the public.'
Far from letting the criticism get her down, Kim is more determined than ever to continue on her path of goodwill.
She concluded: 'Over the last 5+ years, I have listed thousands of items on eBay Giving Works for various causes. I will continue to do what is in my heart and am happy to know many others have enjoyed purchasing from me, as they too are giving with me.'
