Elizabeth Taylor’s White Diamonds
In 2013 alone, the floral-scented White Diamonds made $10 million in sales. As the late actress told Kim Kardashian, who interviewed her for Harper’s Bazaar in 2011, “I always wanted to have a fragrance... to be able to connect with people in ways other than through film. Fragrance is an incredibly intimate thing. It can evoke very specific thoughts or memories and is a little different for each person who wears it... I had no idea that White Diamonds would become a classic when we began, but I am thrilled it has because it means we have really succeeded in giving women a little bit of luxury every day.”
Jay-Z's Gold struck gold: it made $6 million in sales for 2013—even though it only launched in December!
This is the superstar’s 4th fragrance. It's made $6.7 million, and contains hints of lemon blossom, jasmine, cyclamen, rose, plum and suede over a base of musk, woods, patchouli, vanilla and amber.
Katy Perry's Killer Queen
Perry's two prior fragrances were Purr and Meow!, both of which came in cat-shaped bottles. Departing from the feline theme, Killer Queen has a red ruby bottle, and has made $3.9 million.
One Direction's Our Moment
The group’s debut fragrance made a staggering $24 million in 2013.

Adreian Payne and 8-year old Lacey Holsworth met each other two years ago in a hospital where she was being treated for Neuroblastoma, a rare form of nerve Cancer. The cliche of a star athlete visiting sick kids ended as soon as they met, and now Payne and “Princess Lacey” have become like brother and sister.
On the court Payne is a beast, I mean just look at his record setting performance in the first round of the 2014 NCAA Tournament. Off the court, Payne has shown his heart is bigger than anyone could guess.
Adreian and Lacey were complete strangers prior to meeting in the hospital, but have become family over the last two years. The two text daily and Payne has made sure that Lacey is part of his Michigan State family. This was made obvious as Lacey helped Payne cut down the nets after the Spartans won the Big Ten Tournament.
Lacey also accompanied Payne onto the court for senior night in East Lansing, but Adreian also makes sure he goes the extra mile for Lacey too. Earlier this month, Adreian came to a fundraising party for Lacey and her family.
There is no guarantee that Lacey’s story will have a happy ending, as her form of Cancer is very aggressive and keeps coming back. That being said, I don’t know of any story in sports that is more emotionally uplifting than this one.
The genuine friendship between Adreian and Lacey is bigger than basketball. . .
Bigger than the NCAA tournament . . .
Bigger than Cancer . . .
Thank you Adreian and Lacey for showing us what it really should be all about.
Cher kicked-off her 'Dressed To Kill Tour' tonight in Phoenix, Arizona. Dressed in a colourful ensemble with an over-sized matching head-dress, the 67-year-old entered the stage singing 'Woman's World from her latest album 'Closer To The Truth'. The setlist included some of her greatest hits mixed with new songs from the 2013 album and "Burlesque".
The 20-song sold out show began at Phoenix, Arizona's US Airways Center at around 10:00PM (Arizona time) before wrapping up around midnight.
Three hours later, the 'Mermaids' star told her 2-million Twitter followers that there were a number of opening night problems: "Before showtime I was being fitted for costumes! Shoes man is punk, no shoes, boots! Learned new choreography yesterday. New wigs tonight! Killed ourselves. I made a new mistake every four minutes... You know... Like my f--king iPhone".
"No costumes, no shoes, no monologue, hours of fitting. Right before show I was making notes and crying. It wasn't smooth, but it was fun. Very proud of my crew! I'm grateful for the chance to make people happy. It seems I have a gift? I think it was fun? Every song was crazy, then over".
She declared that between the concerts's finish and her Twitter session, she had, "Been in meetings! More fittings. Had to to fix cues. Cleaned up entrance. My crew rocked it tonight. No sleep, none! It was miracle. Everything was so last minute. Some wigs weren't perfect. But some just needed change. Never had costumes on until tonight."
The 67-year-old took to Twitter once again at half-past-eight in the morning: about long-time costume designer Bob Mackie, whom was unable to work with her on the show, Cher wrote, "I miss Bob!".
A look at the tour book:

James Arthur has compared himself to an "exploited" killer whale.
The X Factor winner likened himself to Tilikum, the subject of anti-SeaWorld documentary Blackfish, who has been linked to the deaths of three people while in captivity, as he announced that he will release a free hip hop mixtape titled All The World's a Stage.
Asking fans to design the artwork for the mixtape, he said that he wants it to include a killer whale "attacking a crowd of people".
He tweeted: "I would like the front cover to be a drawing of the killer whale/ Orca from sea world who features in the documentary "Blackfish" TILIKUM.
"Ideally I'd like him to be attacking a crowd of people, lashing out after being exploited. Include my name and the title of the mixtape."
The singer also promised to meet the winning artist in person, adding that the mixtape will include 14 tracks of him "singing, rapping and producing".
Meanwhile, Arthur has described his promotion team as "embarrassing", asking them to "stick to promoting Paul Potts".
He tweeted: "HQ please stop writing things like 'we think you would #LOVE This and that' or 'everybody #GETDOWN and buy this..' It's embarrassing."
"Stick to promoting Paul Potts please. Thanks. #LOVE," he added.
Potts responded to the post shortly after, urging Arthur to stop acting like an "amateur".
The Britain's Got Talent star said: "@JamesArthur23 you're a talented guy and ur music is great. But you're not an amateur anymore. Criticizing ur promotion team openly on here isn't the best idea.
"Their wages come out of your budget and there will come a time when you need them more than they need u."
Simon Cowell recently admitted that Arthur should have been told to "shut up" after causing controversy with some of his comments in recent months.
Jay Z addresses Drake's recent comments regarding his references to art on Jay Electronica's "We Made It.""Sorry Mrs. Drizzy for so much art talk," Jay Z raps on the track.
Today (March 23), Jay Z addressed Drake's recent Rolling Stone comments about art references on his verse on Jay Electronica's "We Made It."
"Sorry Mrs. Drizzy for so much art talk," Jay Z raps on the track. "Silly me, rappin''bout shit that I really bought / While these rappers rap about guns that they ain't shot / And a bunch of other silly shit that they ain't got."
Jay Z's "Drizzy" reference likely stems from Drake's Rolling Stone interview in February. In the article, Drake criticizes Jay Z's references to art.
"It's like Hov can't drop bars these days without at least four art references," Drake says in the article. "I would love to collect [art] at some point, but I think the whole Rap/art world thing is getting kind of corny."
Prior to that, Drake was believed to make a reference to Jay Z and Kanye West on "I'm On One."
"I'm just feelin' like the throne is for the taking" Drake raps on the track. "Watch me take it."
In its article, Rolling Stone notes that Drake's line is likely a reference to Watch the Throne, a collaborative album made by Jay Z and Kanye West. In the article, Drake admits that he wasn't in good graces with West and Jay at one point. "It was a lack of communication paired with natural competitiveness," Drake says in the piece. "But those two are gods to me."
The article also included criticism of Kanye West's Yeezus album. "There were some real questionable bars on there," Drake says in the article. "Like that Swag-hili line? Come on man, man. Even Fabolous wouldn’t say some shit like that."
After the Rolling Stone article was published, Drake said that he never criticized Yeezus and vowed to not do anymore interviews.
Jay Z's verse on Jay Electronica's "We Made It" follows Drake's appearance with Soulja Boy on "We Made It Freestyle." Both selections share the same beat.
There could be a vacancy coming up on The Real Housewives of Melbourne with Gina Liano considering leaving the Foxtel series.
Liano and fellow cast member Andrea Moss have clashed on and off the screen and it’s had a knock-on effect with some of the other Housewives.
Moss has accused Liano of sending a legal letter to her during the taping of the series and more recently of posting a "vulgar" message on Facebook. Liano has hit back, telling AAP that the legal letter was sent to the show's producers and not directed at her fellow Housewives.
"I never sent it to them. I sent one to the producers and I cc’d the girls in," Liano said. "I’ve explained what 'cc' means ... but it’s not getting through to them, so for business women they are not very cluey."
Liano said Moss and some of the housewives have been using social media inappropriately and personally attacking her and her fans.
She said it's now at the stage where if a second season is commissioned, she may not return.
While praising the editing and production of the series, she said the experience and friction between the Housewives is unhealthy.
"The other girls are quite offensive and defamatory to me and to my followers (on social media)," Liano said. "They are using it as a platform for damage control for their bad behaviour.
"I don’t know, I’m undecided (about coming back). There’s a lot of childish behaviour. If I wanted to work in a creche I would have."
Moss said things have gone from bad to worse since filming for the series ended last year and that she hid her anger during the taping of the series.
Her accusation that Liano posted a vulgar Facebook message, which appears to have been privately shared, was backed up by fellow Housewife Janet Roach, who has been taken aback by the saga.
"I don’t have an issue with her (Liano) so I am really hurt and disappointed in the way she has attacked the other girls," Roach said. "I can’t believe a woman would even think of it."
All six Housewives have signed three year contracts to appear on the series although they are free to leave whenever they want.
How hilarious was that panel discussion of working mothers where they all clearly thought Andrea was crazy?

An African singer behind a skin-bleaching cream called 'Whitenicious' has tried to justify the name of her product in a TV interview, saying: 'white means pure.'
Asked what the product's name meant to her, Nigerian and Cameroonian singer Dancia appeared to contradict herself by saying: 'White means pure, not necessarily skin, but in general.'
She insisted that the cream is only for covering blemishes, despite an advertising campaign showing her entire body appearing lighter, adding: 'Some people they don't feel confident, they don't feel pure, they don't feel clean with dark spots.'
Critics have branded the product an 'abomination' saying it teaches young 'girls of colour' to be ashamed of their skin.
In an interview with Channel 4, Dancia was asked whether she thought the message behind the product was that being white looked better than being black.
She replied: 'I was not selling that message, the media are selling that message. I didn't say, buy the cream and look like Dancia.
'I said seven day, fast acting dark spot remover. It's called reading comprehension. If people missed that class then it's not my fault.
'If they think that their whole body is a dark spot then fine, because that's not how I feel.'
Among Dancia's critics is oscar-winning actress Lupita Nyong'o who spoke out against racism in beauty and fashion and warned young black girls not to use bleaching products.
Nyong'o, star of 12 Years A Slave, admitted that when she was younger she wanted to wake up 'just a little bit lighter', because she was ashamed of her dark skin.
When asked whether she accepted the point made by Nyong'o, Dancia responded: 'I don't accept that. I don't care about her story. I don't know her.
'I'm an adult and if I lighten my skin then that's my choice, the same as bleaching my hair.'
Skin bleaching is a growing trend in Dencia's native West Africa, and critics are angered that it appears she is promoting it with her product.
Specifically, the pop star has been criticised for using her own changing skin tone as a marketing technique. Pictures of Dencia taken in 2011 show her with much darker pigmentation compared to the Whitenicious campaign where she appears several shades lighter.
In another attempt at justification, Dencia explains that 50 per cent of her customers are African-Americans, not Africans, adding: 'I have girls calling me up and crying, thanking me for Whitenicious.'
However, Phinniah Ikeji, from Black Role Models UK, said: 'This is about the young girls. They see you, they love your music, they love you as a person and they have seen that you were darker before and now you're much lighter, what's the message going to be to them?
'They're going to think, OK I want to be like her as well and then that affects their self esteem.'
Commenting on the video on YouTube, user AC MC said: Indians and Africans and people of colour need to stop trying to be white and be happy with themselves. This woman needs mental help.'
Another user, tpl89 added: 'Fake accent, fake hair, fake skin colour. It's so sad, she must really hate her African heritage.'

Tyler Glenn — lead singer for Provo, Utah New Wave-pop quartet Neon Trees and a Mormon his entire life — reveals he is gay in the new issue of Rolling Stone (on stands Friday, March 28th). "I've always felt like I'm an open book, and yet obviously I haven't been completely," he tells RS' Caryn Ganz. But he is now: Glenn speaks candidly about his first gay experiences, his band's reaction to his coming out and his complicated relationship with his conservative religion in our new story.
The Hidden War Against Gay Teens
Glenn says he's known he was gay since he was a young child, but kept his sexuality a secret — until now. "I had my crushes on guys throughout high school, but it was never an overwhelming thing until my twenties," he admits. "Then I'd be dating girls and in love with my straight friend and it was the worst feeling in the world." (Read the full feature on RollingStone.com tomorrow, March 24th).
"We were always taught, and I hate this word, 'tolerance,'" he says, regarding his church's stance on homosexuality, which is notoriously fraught. "The only time that felt different was when the Prop 8 thing came up," he says, referring to when the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints spent an estimated $22 million fighting same-sex marriage in California in 2008.
Glenn started to tell close friends and family members his big news in October 2013, as he was finishing up writing songs for Neon Trees' upcoming third LP, Pop Psychology, many of which address his years in the closet. Today, he's inspired by the variety of men and women from all corners of pop culture who have been coming out publically, especially athletes facing high stakes.
"I really love all of the sports figures that are coming out recently," he says. "I appreciated Michael Sam was like, 'I want to be able to go to the movies and hold hands with my boyfriend.' Even hearing him say 'boyfriend,' I was just like, that's cool."
Read the full story for reaction from Glenn's Neon Trees bandmates and his mother, plus Glenn's take on straight artists acting as the gay community's spokespeople and his explanation of the events that led to his big coming out.
While actress Ellen Page will be kicking ass this summer as Kitty Pryde in X Men: Days Of Future Past, but she was definitely getting a jump start the past weekend on Twitter when contacted by a pastor who was presumably sending homophobic tweets.
While Page didn’t retweet the initial message that got her all fired up, she responded via her Twitter feed:
Be careful, pastor whoever you are. You probably wouldn’t like Ellen when she’s angry.
As if that awesome coming out speech and the woefully underrated Whip It didn’t make us love her enough (seriously, Whip It is excellent), this tweet definitely just took it to the next level.
On her 72nd birthday, Queen of Soul opens up about working with Andre 3000, love for Beyonce and why she won't retire
"What a party!," Aretha Franklin said Saturday night, seated on a couch in the Ritz Carlton’s appropriately-named Star Lounge, looking elegant in pearls and a sparkly lime green skirt suit. "Just tremendous. What a night!"
The Queen of Soul spent much of her 72nd birthday bash tucked in a corner, sipping Coke next to friends Clive Davis and Denzel Washington. But close to midnight, she cut a multi-tiered vanilla cake, handing pieces out personally to guests, including Congressman Charles Rangel and Judge Mathis. Then she was on a couch in the center of the room, tapping her fingers to the Dizzy Gillespie All Stars. Does Ms. Franklin have an all-time favorite birthday? "Other than this one?," she told Rolling Stone with a grin.
Franklin has a lot to celebrate right now. Last week, she played Atlantic City’s Revel Casino Hotel ("It was fantastic, a smashing night") and has June dates scheduled for New York’s Radio City Music Hall. She’s also reunited with Davis, who is executive producing her next LP, a concept album where she’ll cover her favorite female singers – songs like Donna Summer’s "Last Dance" and Barbra Streisand’s "People."
Franklin is also linking up with one prominent hip-hop name. "Andre 3000 is going to be aiding in producing some of the tracks," said Franklin. "I love everything he does. He’s got a groove that I really, really like." Franklin said she recently received several of the recorded tracks from producer Babyface, which she is preparing to sing over and is aiming for a June release. "But right now, I’m just looking for a record deal for my granddaughter, Victorie, who sang for me at the BET Honors," Franklin said. Franklin on being a grandmother: "It’s fabulous."
Franklin is also considering covering Beyonce on her next LP, opening up about her affinity for the singer. "I like 'Bootylicious,''Survivor'– my little granddaughter loves 'Survivor,'" she said. "She’s a worker," Franklin says of Beyonce. "And I can appreciate that. I’m a worker."
Franklin’s real birthday isn’t until tomorrow, March 25th, and she’s still solidifying her plans for the big day. "I think I am going to see the Motown musical again, and maybe Aladdin." Franklin wasn't disappointed by Broadway's Motown musical. "Well it’s about Detroit, and I knew all the real people - Diana [Ross] and Marvin [Gaye] and Berry [Gordy] and Smokey [Robinson]. They do a great portrayal of those people."
I mention many of those performers, like Ms. Franklin, are still around performing today. "Yes," she nods, adding she’s not looking to retire anytime soon. "Why should I? I’m doing what I love and people love to hear us do it. I’ll always do it."
