Terrence Malick's Mysterious Music-Centered Movie Set in Austin: What We Know

Arcade Fire, Black Lips, Fleet Foxes, Neon Indian, Patti Smith, Lykke Li, Christian Bale, Ryan Gosling, Natalie Portman, Rooney Mara, and more
By Evan Minsker on November 8, 2012 at 03:02 p.m.

Val Kilmer smashes a guitar while Rooney Mara (far left, in hat) looks on, during the Black Lips' set at Austin City Limits 2012

At the Austin City Limits festival in October, actress Rooney Mara appeared on stage playing guitar with the Black Lips. A few weeks later at Fun Fun Fun Fest, Val Kilmer also joined the band on stage, destroying an amp with a chainsaw and cutting off his own hair with a knife. What the hell was going on?

Apparently, they were filming scenes for a new movie by famed director Terrence Malick (Days of Heaven, Badlands, The Tree of Life), which has been shooting at various Austin festivals and concerts since last year. The film doesn't have a title yet (it was previously called Lawless, until another movie with that name came along) and the whole thing is shrouded in mystery.

Here's what we know so far:

The plot:

- Per IMDB: "Two intersecting love triangles. Obsession and betrayal set against the music scene in Austin, Texas."

The actors:

- The film stars Christian Bale, Natalie Portman, Ryan Gosling, Rooney Mara, Cate Blanchett, Michael Fassbender, Holly Hunter, and Skyfall Bond girl Bérénice Marlohe.
- Val Kilmer hasn't been confirmed, though his appearance with the Black Lips at Fun Fun Fun would imply as much.
- Benicio Del Toro is also rumored to be in the film.

The musicians who may or may not appear in the film:

- The Black Lips, joined on stage by Mara and Kilmer.
- Alan Palomo of Neon Indian reportedly shot scenes for the film
- Fleet Foxes, who were joined by Christan Bale on bongos at last year's Austin City Limits
- Arcade Fire and Iron & Wine, who were also reportedly filmed at last year's Austin City Limits
- Die Antwoord, who were on stage at this year's Austin City Limits while Natalie Portman and Michael Fassbender reportedly shot a scene for the film.
- Portman was also spotted at Iggy and the Stooges' set at this year's ACL.
- YACHT and Big Freedia, who were filmed at last year's Fun Fun Fun Fest.
-You can see Gosling and Mara hanging in the background in this "behind the scenes" video for Lykke Li's episode of PBS'"Austin City Limits" TV show.
- Patti Smith, who allegedly serenaded Mara during a recent Austin show.
- Florence Welch of Florence and the Machine was spotted with Gosling and Mara at this year's ACL.
- Tegan and Sara, who played the set immediately following.

The setting:

- Fun Fun Fun Fest 2011 and 2012.
- Austin City Limits 2011 and 2012.
- SXSW 2012 (Palomo shot scenes there with Mara).
- Various concerts around Austin.

What else:

- The reports from festivals and live shows probably won't end here. The lead actors are still being spotted around Austin.
- Malick may be filming now, but don't expect to see it any time soon. He's a notoriously slow director: the length of time between Days of Heaven and its follow-up, The Thin Red Line, was 20 years.
- Malick is also at work on another film called Knight of Cups. Bale, Blanchett, Hunter, and Portman also star in that film, which is about "a man, temptations, celebrity, and excess," according to IMDB. Perhaps it's just a casting coincidence, but there's speculation that the two films are linked somehow.
- The non-musical plot point, the one about love triangles? That's pretty much confirmed by the dozens of tabloid reports showing the various actors making out in different Austin locations. Oh look, here's one from Perez Hilton!
- One more guest star: resident Austin weirdo Eric "The Lizardman" Sprague.

Here's Kilmer performing with the Black Lips, while Mara plays guitar on the side of the stage:

'The Breast Milk Baby' doll: Healthy, educational play or too much?

$

There's a sort of new doll trying to break on the scene again in the U.S. After being unsuccessful since its first attempt to enter the market last year. Apparently the company is hoping to be more successful this year, as AP released the details, including support and endorsements for the toy on November 8, 2012, just before holiday sales and shopping begin.

"The Breast Milk Baby," the world's first breastfeeding baby, is a product of Berjuan Toys, LLC. The doll comes in baby boy or girl, a variety of skin tones, names, and attire. Cameron, Jeremiah, Jessica, Lilyang, Savannah, and Tony each come with a unique accessory that has also been the major obstacle in getting these dolls on the shelves in the United States. Each doll comes with a flowered halter top that has a flower shaped mechanism built in to the breast area. When the doll is held near the mechanism the baby begins to make suckling, gurgling, and burping noises.

The doll is marketed for children ages 2 years and up. Berjuan Toys believe little girls need to learn to breastfeed. The company says that this engaging activity is healthy, natural, and allows girls to express love and affection just like mommy.

The doll was a hit in Europe, selling millions according to the company's U.S. representative Dennis Lewis. However, last year the doll sold just under 5,000 in the states. Lewis says that retailers like the doll and believe it is an innovative toy, yet are reluctant to put it on shelves, concerned about the controversy it may cause. Feedback in the U.S. last year was that the doll is too "sexualized" for children. According to Associated Press, Lewis' rebuttal to this is, the simulation of natural activity of breastfeeding is "very much less sexualized than Barbie dolls or the sassy Bratz pack."

Another major concern is the price of the doll. Retail Suggested Price for "The Breast Milk Baby" is $89. However, a 50% holiday season discount is available at thebreastmilkbaby.com.

Would you buy this doll for your daughter? Do you believe it is too "sexualized?" Do you believe it is a good fun aid for breastfeeding mothers whose daughters may imitate them anyway with regular dolls?

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

‘Adventure Time‘ Season 5 begins on November 12th, just three weeks after the Season 4 finale aired and thank God because we probably couldn’t have waited much longer. So what do the next 26 episodes of ‘Adventure Time’ have in store for us? We’ve got the details! And the trailer! Oh. my. GLOB.

If you haven’t been watching, ‘Adventure Time’ has slowly morphed into the best sci-fi/fantasy show currently on TV. And we don’t just mean for kids. If you felt a void in your life after ‘Lost’ or just like a smart, sweet, funny and quirky TV show, you’ll want to make sure you catch up in anticipation of the Season 5 premiere.

Debuting on Cartoon Network on Monday, November 12th, ‘Adventure Time’ returns with a two-part, half-hour episode titled “Finn the Human” and “Jake the Dog.” The episodes are essentially Parts 2 and 3 to Part 1, the Season 4 finale titled “The Lich,” which ended mysteriously with an alternate universe Jake and Finn set on presumably pre-Great Mushroom War version of Ooo/Earth (if this is confusing, it will all make sense when you watch the show).

In addition to the conclusion of that storyline, Season 5 will also see the return of the gender-swapped universe of Fionna and Cake (with Neil Patrick Harris returning as Prince Gumball and Donald Glover guest-starring as Marshall Lee), the birth of Jake and Lady Rainicorn’s baby, another Lumpy Space Princess episode and the further exploration of the complicated relationship between the Ice King and Marceline.

Below is a list of all the ‘Adventure Time’ Season 5 episodes with run dates still to come.

1014-105 Finn the Human

1014-106 Jake the Dog

1014-107 Five More Short Graybles

1014-108 Up a Tree

1014-109 All the Little People

1014-110 Bad Little Boy (glad that we are going to get the Fionna and Cake ep early)

1014-111 Jake the Dad (fuck yeah puppies!)

1014-112 Davey

1014-113 Mystery Dungeon

1014-114 Little Dude

1014-115 All Your Fault

1014-116 Vault of Bones

1014-117 The Great Bird Man

1014-118 Simon and Marcy (OH MY GLOB :O )

1014-119 Puhoy

1014-120 A Glitch Is a Glitch

1014-121 One Last Job

1014-122 Princess Potluck

1014-123 BMO Lost

1014-124 James Baxter the Horse

1014-129 Shhh

1014-130 The Suitor

1014-131 The Party’s Over, Isla de Senora

1014-132 Another Five Short Graybles (More Graybles? interesting...)

1014-133 LSP Gets Robbed (More LSP the better tbh)

1014-134 Only Wizards Allowed

And if you’re wondering where episodes 125-128 went, they were reportedly part of an epic hour-long episode that is still being worked on and still pending.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Adventure Time, the most notable work from creator Pendleton Ward, is unlike anything else on TV; it has the ability to be both plainly stupid and whip smart at the same time, making it enjoyable for viewers of all ages. If you’re not familiar with the show, which now airs on Cartoon Network, the best place to start is with the utterly crazy pilot from a few years back, which went viral on YouTube.

Adventure Time has been a huge success, but Ward is beginning to branch out. His newest project is Bravest Warriors, a web series that could do for the sci-fi genre what Adventure Time did for fantasy. The first episode of the series has been released on the Cartoon Hangover YouTube channel.

Bravest Warriors, which revolves around the adventures of a young team of heroes in outer space, works on a basic level as a saccharine cartoon adventure through the cosmos. However, there is a lot of brilliant comedy hiding underneath, perhaps to an even deeper level than Adventure Time. The inexperience and ultimate failure of the team (the warriors simply abandon their mission to avoid risking death) works as a brilliant satire of nepotism (the Bravest Warriors’ parents were much more distinguished heroes.) I’ll stop before I sound too elitist and hipster-y, but suffice it to say, the series is enjoyable on multiple levels.

Though Ward is billed as the creator of Bravest Warriors and brings his signature animation style to it, the writer and director is Breehn Burns, who wrote the Mondo-distributed Dr. Tran series. “Breehn is really passionate about making sure all the scifi elements are there, that everybody loves.” said Ward in an interview with io9. “They’re going to make it super funny. If you know Dr. Tran, it’ll have that really fast-paced super-bizarre vocabulary that Breehn uses.”

Cartoon Hangover bills itself as “the home for cartoons that are too weird, wild, and crazy for television. ” With that in mind , expect Bravest Warriors to push the envelope in a way that Adventure Time cannot. This series is going to be totally mathematical.

Already loving Bravest Warriors, ngl, and I'm so excited about the next season I need to know how this three parter is going to end!

HEW WENT HOME ON XFACTOR PLUS THE RANKING ORDER

9:02PM EST November 8. 2012 - "The results are in!" said Mario Lopez.

Co-host Khloe Kardashian Odom was right by his side for Thursday's first X Factor elimination show. "Please don't let me cry tonight when we send someone home!" she tweeted just before going on the air.

But before we got to any results, the squealing started early and quickly as the crowd went crazy, crazy, crazy for teen heartthrob band One Direction —- who were contestants on the X Factor U.K. when Simon Cowell signed them and launched them to stardom. The guys took the stage to sing Live While We're Young as red and white balls bounced around them.

"Awesome performance," said Mario.

"How hot is One Direction!?" yelled Khloe to the crowd.

Then we got to see a new Pepsi ad featuring One Direction and NFL star Drew Brees. Product placement synergy!

And then came the first results. The acts all made their way on stage with their celeb mentors. Xix of the Top 12 were revealed:

Arin Ray, 17
Paige Thomas, 22
Diamond White, 13
Vino Alan, 40
Jennel Garcia, 18
Emblem3, the group of three guys from Huntington Beach, Calif.

One Direction came back to send fans swooning with soft song, Little Things. And we saw the Pepsi ad again.

And then more results. Going through:

Carly Rose Sonenclar, 13
Tate Stevens, 37
Beatrice Miller, 13
Lyric 145
Fifth Harmony

All of Britney's acts and all of Simon's acts made it through to the Top 12. It came down to the bottom two - Demi Lovato-mentored Cece Grey, 21; and L.A. Reid-mentored Jason Brock — just as we figured!

Cece opted for Cher's You Haven't Seen the Last of Me, with the hope of making it come true.

Jason poured his heart into Total Eclipse of the Heart (and for once, the crowd got silent and listened)!

Demi, of course, voted to send Jason home, while L.A. Reid voted to send Cece home. Britney, without hesitation, voted to send home Cece. And Simon voted for Jason. So it came down to America!

And America sent Jason Brock home. Part of what he said seemed to have been bleeped, or his mic wasn't working. He said, "I want to say I did it for the gays and Japan." He hugged L.A., who said, "I'm still proud of him. Every time he sang, he sang from the heart. He is very entertaining and I really loved working with you."

And then to spice things up, the show unveiled a leaderboard— a first for a singing competition show, noted Mario — based on the public vote. Here's how the acts stacked up:

1. Tate Stevens "Obviously people in America don't get out a lot," said Tate, laughing.

2. Carly Rose Sonenclar
3. Vino Alan
4. Diamond White
5. Fifth Harmony
6. Emblem3
7. Jennel Garcia
8. Paige Thomas
9. Lyric 145
10. Beatrice Miller
11. Arin Ray
12. Cece Frey

WE ARE BANDING TOGETHER AS A WHOLE AND VOTING FOR LYRIC 145!!!

Rolling Stone: Three days before the start of the tour in Brazil, sales fail and almost half of the entries still available

Lady Gaga threatens to end the year as one of the greatest fiascos of recent shows in the country. With only three days before the first performance, in Rio de Janeiro, Friday, 9 the stranding of tickets on the Internet has spawned jokes and unusual promotions.

The department store Riachuelo, for example, a partner of the production company of the show, the T4F, is selling tickets at "buy one, get one." Detail: Ads are printed in daily newspapers. Already collective sale sites, as Peixe Urbano and Groupon offer tickets at half the value of the official points.

Such measures to increase the audience during the three days of show - Rio de Janeiro (Athletes' Park, 9th), Sao Paulo (Morumbi Stadium, 11th) and Porto Alegre (the parking Fiergs 13th) - were met with mockery scattered around the internet.

Created on Monday, 5, Tumblr I Won Gaga Tickets plays with the ease of getting a ticket for the presentations. They are legends such as: "I bought The Pilgrimage in sebum and gained entry to the show of Gaga "," I bought a Telesena shaved and when I won a ticket to the show of Gaga ".

According to the Rio newspaper O Dia , the numbers are more alarming in Rio de Janeiro, where the show will be held at Rock City, a huge space with capacity for up to 100,000 people, as could be seen at Rock in Rio 2011. There are not enough sales to 14 thousand tickets, the 86,000 available.

In São Paulo, the demand was higher but did not exceed half of the total capacity of Morumbi for the show on Sunday, 11: were 33,000, 67,000 of available, according to the blog Popoload , reported earlier in the week. Sought by Rolling Stone Brazil , the T4F advises that does not disclose the number of official ticket sales.

The pop singer brings the tour Born This Way Ball accompanied by fun hardcore band The Darkness and crumbly by DJ Lady Starlight.

Kristen Stewart: "You knew nothing about my relationship before. You know less now."

$
0
0

Even after all this time, author Stephenie Meyer, the Mormon mother of three who became an overnight literary sensation with the 2005 publication of her young-adult novel "Twilight," can't explain the phenomenon that surrounds the grand romance between vampire Edward Cullen and human teenager Bella Swan, characters played on-screen by Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart.

"I don't know what makes people love it, I don't know what makes people hate it," said Meyer, seated comfortably in a suite of a Beverly Hills hotel. "But I do know that the feeling of being in love is a good feeling. We want to feel that emotion."

"I've always said that," Stewart said to Meyer, sitting beside her. "It's so vicarious. It's not like you are watching two people or reading two people. You feel like you are doing it. It's rare."

There's no question that "Twilight" is that rare gem: a book and movie property that stokes a kind of unquenchable fire among its largely female fan base. That following has been so sizable and so fervent that the "Twi-hards," as they're called, have helped transform Meyer's supernatural tale into a $2.5-billion business, proving that girl-centric tales can be powerful forces at the box office.

With the fifth and presumably final big-screen entry, "The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn — Part 2," due to arrive in theaters Friday, Meyer and Stewart seem to share a bond reminiscent of the connection between Meyer's two protagonists.

Their closeness stems from the unlikely duo's joint goal of ensuring that the beloved material, for all its melodrama, remained intact as it was translated to the big screen. That required them to battle nervous studio executives who wanted Stewart's interpretation of Bella to be less tortured, hardened detractors who railed against overwrought story lines and pop culture satirists who often turned the franchise into its own punch line.

Meyer had already made the leap from Arizona housewife to bestselling author when she first met Stewart, then an up-and-coming actress building her career primarily through roles in indie films. In the intervening years, Meyer's stature and influence as a young-adult author became comparable to that enjoyed by J.K. Rowling or Suzanne Collins, though critics never responded to her writing the way enthusiastic readers did.

Stewart, however, has garnered plenty of acclaim — if not in the often tepidly reviewed "Twilight" movies, then in small challenging roles in films such as Sean Penn's "Into the Wild" or Walter Salles' upcoming adaptation of the Beat Generation classic "On the Road." She's also endured a tabloid celebrity she never planned for thanks to her on-again, off-again relationship with "Twilight" costar Pattinson.

Reaching the end of the saga was particularly satisfying for the actress, who seemed pleased to be able to take Bella to the happy if somewhat complicated conclusion of her journey — and to move on to the next phase of her career.

"I'm so ready to be done," said the 22-year-old.

A changed Bella

Directed like its predecessor by Oscar winner Bill Condon, "Breaking Dawn — Part 2" begins with Bella Swan as a newborn vampire and a new mother, whose half-human daughter, Renesmee, threatens to spark a war among various tribes of vampires from around the globe. The ruling class in Italy, the Volturi, wrongly assume that Bella and Edward have transformed a human child into a vampire, something that is expressly forbidden, and gather forces to take down the entire Cullen clan.

The story line gave Stewart the opportunity to bring a new dimension to a character who'd always considered herself ordinary and clumsy; with her supernatural powers, she could be graceful and beautiful, lightning-fast and lethal.

"I played her as human for so long, so the enhanced version of her made so much sense to me," said Stewart, her long limbs folded under her on the couch. "Everything so perfectly fit that I was so amped to do it."

Meyer recalled standing in front of the monitor on the set of the film when Stewart shot her first scene as vampire Bella, nervously anticipating the outcome.

"We were dancing by the monitors — 'Look at her go,'" Meyer said as Stewart pretended to leave the room, not wanting to hear the compliment. "It was such a huge weight lifted. It wasn't a different character. It was Bella, but it was a totally different Bella. It was so exciting."

Her newfound abilities also might help to dispel notions that Bella is too passive a character, a young girl too dependent on her boyfriend as a source of her happiness — though Meyer and Stewart flatly reject that view.

"Flop the roles. If Bella was a vampire and Edward was the human and you changed nothing but the genders, none of that criticism would exist," said Stewart. "It would be 'Wow, he just laid everything on the line for her. It's so amazing, and it must take such strength to subject yourself to that.' Also, the relationship is entirely equal."

"She gets what she wants," Meyer added.

"Plus, she's the one that keeps the bus going the entire time," continued Stewart. "If it was up to Edward, they would have given up at the first movie."

A new ending

The 700-page-plus "Breaking Dawn" novel was released just a few months before director Catherine Hardwicke's adaptation of "Twilight" reached theaters in 2008. The book was met with controversy, even among Meyer's loyal fans. Renesmee's birth is an especially gruesome sequence — one that Condon had to carefully navigate for the previous PG-13-rated movie — and some readers complained about Bella's choice to carry the child to term despite obvious risks to her own health.

There was also grumbling about an ending that felt too soft, too anticlimactic.

"I had a lot of concerns about making 'Breaking Dawn' a movie," said Meyer, who holds final approval on the scripts for the "Twilight" films. "There were a lot of things they wanted to change. There were some serious problems."

Fealty to source material on beloved properties like "Twilight" is always a concern — deviate too much from the book and fans, even those who maybe weren't wild about what was on the page initially, will cry foul. But it was Meyer herself and screenwriter Melissa Rosenberg, who has written each of the five scripts for the films, who devised a new ending over dinner one night in Vancouver while the second "Twilight" movie, "New Moon," was filming.

Of course, neither Meyer nor Stewart will reveal the new conclusion, but Meyer believes the solution is one fans will embrace. She and her star are somewhat less reserved in their elation for the digital trickery used for Renesmee, who in the book is born the size of a normal baby but whose unusual parentage results in rapid growth. (The character is played in the film by 12-year-old actress Mackenzie Foy.)

Stewart was initially asked to hold a robotic doll instead of a real baby for some scenes, but that approach didn't yield quite the right result.

"It was the most creepy, horrific horror doll you've ever seen — and it was mechanical," Meyer said with a laugh. "It's gouging her cheek and sticking to her hair. We reshot the whole thing. We didn't wind up using any of the footage, but that doll was so horrifying. I mean that doll comes to life and kills people."

"They should have had a real baby," Stewart said. "I really missed having a real baby. They were the scenes I looked forward to the most, and then I had this thing. It was really disheartening."

Instead, the filmmakers employed some techniques David Fincher and his team pioneered for "The Curious Case of Benjamin Button," projecting Foy's face on older and younger girls as the script required.

Life after 'Twilight'

Stewart and Meyer are ready for "Twilight" to come to a close. Its years of pop culture dominance have taken a toll on the women, particularly Stewart, who appears resigned to the glaring spotlight, though no more comfortable with it.

The two discussed the public's desire to put celebrities on pedestals only to knock them down and the reality of the 24-hour news cycle as the mechanism that's destroyed the mystery of the movie star.

Stewart compared the need-to-know frenzy to the public wanting another movie, one played out in magazines, on the radio and on television, based on the actors' real lives. Things turned especially personal for Stewart last summer when photographs surfaced of the actress apparently cheating on boyfriend Pattinson with filmmaker Rupert Sanders, who directed Stewart in the fairy-tale adventure "Snow White and the Huntsman."

"People are just going to write the movie version of your life and consume it the way they please. I get the inclination to be entertained by that as well, so go for it. Have at it. Take it. Take it," Stewart said, pulling at her cashmere sweater. "But you knew nothing about my relationship before. You know less now. How could you?"

Meyer sympathizes with Stewart's plight. Until the teenage stars came along, the author, a self-described introvert troubled that people felt that they knew her without ever having met her, was the one in the eye of the storm.

For Meyer, life after "Twilight" will involve more movies — Open Road will release writer-director Andrew Niccol's adaptation of her novel "The Host" in March, and she recently produced her own indie film, "Austenland," based on her friend Shannon Hale's novel.

Stewart is moving on as well. She just signed on to join Ben Affleck in the lighthearted film "Focus," in which she'll play a woman who falls for a veteran con-man.

Meyer said new tales set in the "Twilight" universe continue to rumble in her head, but she's not sure she's willing to write them down and reignite the firestorm of publicity and attention.

"The stories are there. I'm just not sure I'd want to get into the hurricane again," Meyer said. "Maybe on my death bed I'll gather everybody around and tell them what happens: who dies, who turns into a bad guy. And then I'll breathe my last breath and be done."

"What a perfect way to end it," Stewart added.

"Zayn Malik has come so far" - Simon Cowell

One Direction performed on X Factor USA last night and put in a predictably swoonsome performance.

It's believed Simon Cowell was keen to get the boys on the programme to showcase just how far they have come since they were contestants on the UK show two years ago.

In particular, Zayn Malik!

"He was the shy one," explains Simon. "In fact, he nearly didn't make it on one of the boot camp days."

We remember that, Zayn (Zain back then) stormed out of the dance section of boot camp and producers had to go look for him.

"I had to drag him from the back of the auditorium and say, 'You are going to do this,' because he was about to walk out, he was so shy. To see him now, it's a big difference."

And it would seem that we weren't the only one who were having a little drool time over the boys, host Khloe Kardashian seemed equally as smitten.

Khloe said on the show: 'How hot are One Direction?'

Well, we say join the queue! We wonder if Harry is reading this?

Perhaps, he could give Khloe a quick call, she thinks your fit and after all we all know how much you appreciate an older lady. Please, no.

Blogger writes open letter to Roseanne Barr about Transphobic tweets - Roseanne responds angrily

Ariel Silvera, an LGBTQ activist and blogger based in Ireland and the UK has written an open letter - entitled An Open Letter to Roseanne Barr, From a Feminist Sister - to Roseanne Barr, in response to transphobic tweets which the actress posted in October.

In the open letter - seen HERE - Silvera, who is a feminist trans woman from Argentina, calls attention to Barr's offensive, sweeping statements, and her announcement that "women do not want your penises forced in their faces or in our private bathrooms. respect that FACT".

Silvera points out that "Given the violent misogyny prevalent in American society today, that if someone perceived as ‘a man dressed as a woman’, or someone simply perceived as female or feminine, entered a male-dominated space, do you honestly believe they would not face violence? Did you know that there were 17 recorded murders of trans people in America alone in 2011?"

On the subject of Barr's perceived threat of trans women in women's changing rooms, Silvera notes: "You are asking us to face real violence because of the fact that a small percentage of us (just like a small percentage of ANY GROUP IN SOCIETY) may be rapists or paedophiles. There’s probably paedophiles or rapists in your own party, Roseanne, statistically speaking. By your own logic, we shouldn’t let members of the Peace and Freedom party into women’s bathrooms either."

The open letter written today, November 9th, has already prompted a reaction on Twitter from Barr, after a link to the letter was posted to her by a follower. The angry tweets have been regarded as unwarranted, considering the calm tone of both Silvera's letter and Siren Magazine's tweets.

Rod Stewart calls himself 'silly' for tears at legendary football match

Rod Stewart has branded himself “silly” for sobbing uncontrollably as he watched his beloved soccer team win a crunch match this week.

The “Maggie May” hit maker was caught on camera breaking down in tears as he saw Scottish side Celtic beat Spain’s FC Barcelona 2-1 in a European Champions League game in Glasgow on Wednesday.

Stewart was shown footage of the incident during an appearance on Graham Norton’s U.K. talk show the following day, and confessed he was embarrassed by the emotional moment.

He told the audience, “Barcelona is supposed to be the best team in the world and they are brilliant. If you like football they are the best team to watch and they have such a huge bank account they can buy any player they want. Celtic, on the other hand, have a minimal bank account. So, to take them on and actually beat them is just wonderful… (I’m a) silly old sod.”

The interview with Stewart airs in the U.K. on Friday.

Elton John calls Neil Lennon to congratulate him

"I had a lot of texts from people in the game which was fantastic but I got a call yesterday (Thursday) from left field from Sir Elton John believe it or not, congratulating me," Lennon said Friday.

"I thought my missus was winding me up but it just shows you the interest it has generated among a lot of people.

"I don't think he was as emotional as Rod but he did tell me when he was chairman of Watford and they got to the 1984 FA Cup final (won by Everton) he was so emotional that he did cry before the game.

"He was very knowledgeable about the game and knew a lot about myself and it was great that he took time out to call me, as he is going to Australia on tour."

Lennon has had a long association with Celtic as both player and now manager yet, remarkably, has never met arguably the club's most famous fan.

"Do you know, I have never met Rod," Lennon said."I didn't get the chance to see him after the game.

"He does e-mail me from time to time so I hope to get to meet him soon.

Lark Voorhies’ Bizarre Interview: I'm Not Bipolar, It's A Small Opinionata!

Lark Voorhies, famous for playing Lisa Turtle on the 90s hit Saved By The Bell, denies she's suffering from bipolar disorder in a bizarre new interview with Entertainment Tonight, and we've got all the details for you right here on RadarOnline.

Lark, who says she’s not seeing a doctor, tells ET she was duped by People magazine, who she says initially pitched their recent story about her -- an investigation into her battle with mental illness -- as a profile piece.

"It is a small u …opinionata that is getting blown currently out of proportions," she told ET's Christina McLarty. "I have no stating reasons why anyone should worry about me. Clearly, I am a very strong, top-of-the line, always riding to it personage.

"I have no worries myself, nor do I exude, exhibit or possess within my living stratus any reason why someone should worry [on] my behalf -- it's completely fictional. You know, you put all the right elements together and you keep them going...we have to be entertainers. This is our particular angle."

People, saying they spent hours with the actress and her loved ones, said, "We stand by our story."

The former "United States of Tara" co-stars will recur on the Aaron Sorkin drama.

HBO is adding staffers to The Newsroom.

The Aaron Sorkin drama has enlisted Rosemarie DeWitt and Patton Oswalt as recurring players for its sophomore season, The Hollywood Reporter has confirmed.

Oswalt will play Jonas Pfeiffer, the new vice president of human resources at cable network Atlantis Cable News, while DeWitt will portray Rebecca Halliday, a litigator brought in to defend the network in a wrongful termination lawsuit.

The casting marks a reunion for Oswalt and DeWitt, who played a couple on the Showtime dramedy United States of Tara.

Oswalt, repped by CAA, Generate and Ginsburg Daniels, most recently had an arc on CBS' Two and a Half Men and HBO's Bored to Death. ICM Partners, Wishlab and Ziffren Brittenham-repped DeWitt's credits include Mad Men and the feature The Odd Life of Timothy Green.

A return date for Newsroom has yet to be determined.

'The Following' releases new poster + adds more cast members

The Following just might be the next big thing. Adding some major hotties to the cast isn’t hurting things, either. There’s always room for Mike Colter and Warren Kole, if you ask me.

Hey, there were already some very beautiful people on the cast list. Justified actress Natalie Zea simply smolders on the screen and Maggie Grace, soon to be seen by millions of Twi-hards in Breaking Dawn part two, is just beautiful. Oops, I failed to mention that she’s Liam Neeson’s daughter in Taken 2.

The latest news is that Mike Colter and Warren Kole have been added to the series. Colter was last spotted on Ringer, also known as the short-lived CW series starring Buffy the Vampire Slayer actress Sarah Michelle Gellar. The TV Line exclusive revealed that he’ll be playing a high-ranking FBI official by the name of Nick Donovan. I’m thinking he’ll be one of Bacon’s superiors. He had a good chemistry with Gellar on the set of Ringer. Of course, because she was playing a pair of twins, like four other male actors were also developing chemistry with the star.

As for actor Warren Kole, you might just know him as Detective Wes Mitchell from USA’s series, Common Law. You have probably guessed by now that if Kevin Bacon is the good guy, then James Purefoy is our devious killer. TV Line also detailed that Kole will play one the serial killer’s disciples. Villainy hasn’t looks this good since Christian Bale’s knife wielding in American Psycho. Apparently Kole’s will be a key role. It isn’t just anyone who can be trusted as the lead gopher for a mastermind. He’ll be tricky and sinister.

Rihanna has revealed that she still regards Madonna as 'the queen' of music.
The Bajan star admitted that she looked up to the iconic performer when she was growing up and that she would love to collaborate with her in the future.
'You know, Madonna is one of those artists who was very self-expressive, she was bold, she was fearless, and all of those were things I looked up to as a young woman,' Rihanna said during an interview on Facebook Live.
'I really just wanted to be myself and feel free to express it and not really be afraid of what people think about it. Madonna's still the s**t, and she'll always be Madonna. She's the queen.'
Asked by Bravo's Andy Cohen if she would like to work with Madonna, Rihanna replied: 'That would be so sick. I would love to. Who knows? Let's put it in the air.'

Madonna said she would take her trousers off fully at the Pittsburgh show if Barack Obama was elected to a second term in office - and she kept her promise as these photos prove.

Looks like Dance Showdown will be sucking now. They kept all the worst dancers.
I'd rather watch paint dry now.

And the final 4 is...

Is Dance Showdown rigged? I think so! The 2 finalists happen to be good friends with the judges.

1 of the finalists happens to be best friends with the producer/host Dtrix and judge Ryan Higa. Someone on the forum also found that Chester is friends with a lot of the crew in the credits and found some pictures of them all together:

Brittani is best friends with judge Shane Dawson and appears in many of his videos. She has also worked with some of the crew in the past.
