We all knew it was a matter of time before Nintendo came after your boi Soulja Boy Tell ‘Em. Nintendo’s legal team sent Tell ‘Em a letter notifying him that he could be violating the Trademark Counterfeiting Act by continuing to sell bootleg game consoles. If the company moves forward with a lawsuit and he is found guilty, Soulja could face up to 10-20 years in jail.

Soulja, real name name DeAndre Way, didn’t take the notice seriously and tweeted Nintendo mocking them and using homophobic slurs. He has since deleted his tweets, but Pepperidge Farm always remembers, pendejo.

One deleted tweet read, “I’m not scared of Nintendo or none of u f***ot nerds making YouTube videos eat a dick and thanks for the free promo.”

ONTD, are you Team Nintendo or Team Soulja?

    Some tidbits:
    - Oreo was NOT an original creation - the Hydrox cookie was made 4 years before Oreos ripped them off and became successful due to marketing (Gaga teas)

    - The Oreo O's cereal went through a mess of licensing which was why you probably didn't see it in America for a while

    - "Double stuf" was purposefully spelled wrong to get attention

    - The cookie's name likely came from the Oreodaphne plant, typically used to make wreaths (Oreo cookies used to have a wreath design on them - also a rip off from Hydrox)

    - The Parent Trap influenced a rising trend of combining Oreos and peanut butter, so in 2002 & 2005, peanut butter and chocolate cream delight + double stuf peanut butter cream Oreos were introduced. The writer for The Parent Trap randomly came up with the Oreo + peanut butter combo for the character quirk

Chris Rock let his white friends Louis CK and Ricky Gervais say the n-word.

Rock says about CK, “He’s the blackest white guy I fucking know,”
    Louis interrupted, “You’re saying I’m a n—er?”
Rock answered with a laugh, “You are the n—erest fucking white man I have ever…”

Gervais uses the n-word while explaining that he would not use it in his act.
Seinfeld says that he would not use the word:
“You’ve found the humor of it. I haven’t found it. Nor do I seek it.”

Time to party like it's 2010! Almost 9 years after its original release (the album came out on January 1st 2010) Kesha's debut album Animal is now certified 3 times Platinum in the US. The record included a string of top10 hits such as Blah Blah Blah, Take It Off, Your Love is my Drug and of course, Tik Tok.

To honour this milestone, here's Kesha performing on the Today Show during the album's release week.

The appearance also gave us this iconic gif

But that's not all! Kesha's second and third singles off her sophomore record Warrior have now also been certified Platinum as well.

Yes, is that time of the year again!

    BEST ❤️

    9. Ian leaves Shameless.
After 9 seasons, Cameron Monaghan surprisingly left Shameless. Luckily, the move had been planned in advance so they gave him a sort of proper ending. After many years of shitty storylines, ending up with Mickey in prison was actually Shameless' version of a happy ending. Debbie's lesbian awakening is also appreciated.

    8. Elite puts sexual diversity on the map.
Elite was the breakout show of the year and people truly loved how queer friendly it is. lesbian moms, gay muslims, bisexual guys and throuples.

    7. Sense8's final orgy.
Sense8's final episode finally aired this year and while the show's swang song didn't make that much noise as it's cancellation, it definitely made an impact when everyone gets into a final orgy after Nomi and Amanita's wedding. Also, bonus points for Rajan/Kala/Wolfgang becoming a throuple.

    6. Princess Bubblegum and Marceline kiss in the Adventure Time's Finale

    5. Will & Grace Gets Gayer
Will & Grace was funny already but the fact that they decided to keep up with the times and talk about what old gay men go through, conversion camps, gay marriage and a great episode with Miss Coco Peru, the show is getting truly better. Also, Jack is the king of physical comedy.

    4. Marvel's Runaways introduces Teen lesbian superheroes!
Yes, Marvel actually took a big step. Two of the runaways are Nico and Karolina, two interracial lesbian superheroes. Nico can make magic using energy from the Dark Dimension and her mom used to serve Kaecilius (Doctor Strange), while Karolina is a Majesdanians, a glowy alien race with super powers.

    3. The casting of Pose
Pose features the largest assembly of LGBTQ actors ever in a TV series...and in leading roles, no less. Pose is telling their stories and finally giving the dignity trans people deserve on TV.

    2. Queer Eye makes us emotional
Seems like a lot more time has passed but QE premiered both seasons this year and it delivered one of the most emotional, funny and engaging shows of the year. The new Fab5 are all kinds of AH-MAH-ZING. Can you believe?

    1. Schitt's Creek rendition of 'Simply the Best'
Schitt's Creek is by far THE comedy of the year, and David/Patrick's relationship has been a delight to watch. But the moment it became peak TV was when Patrick decided to set up and Open Mic night and sing to David and while he thought he was going to suck, his rendition of 'Simply The Best' made the world fall in love. Also, it became and itunes hit and the money was donated to canadian LGBT shelters.

    WORST 💔

    - The Assassination of Gianni Versace: American Crime Story: I thought this was supposed to be a show about Gianni Versace and he's barely in it. Just a lame excuse to push Darren Criss down our throats.

    - Miss Vanjie is eliminated: An elimination for the ages. WHY DID YOU HAVE TO ELIMINATE HA?! Although Miss Vanjie's legacy lives on through memes.

    - She-Ra and the Princesses of Power: If you're gonna have lgbtq characters, don't make it vague. We've been through this already.

    - DC's Elseworld - 'Batwoman': So hyped, such a letdown, mainly because of Ruby Rose, who has the emotional range of a 70's cartoon. Stephen Amell looks like an Oscar winner in comparison.

    - IASIP, we were promised a boyfriend: Mac's now out and we were promised a boyfriend for this season, and it never happened.

    - Grey's Gays are just ok: Grey's hyped us about the new gay doctors, but their story has been quite boring and formulaic, more of everything we've already seen before and nowhere near the development Callie or Arizona had.

    - Bury your gays: Stop killing gay characters. From 'The Walking Dead' to 'Star Trek Discovery' and 'A Place to Call Home'. We've been through this. Stop. this. trope.

The Stonewall Inn announced Madonna as their 2019 ambassador. And that's sounds about right, 2019 is the 50th anniversary of the riots uprising of LGBT community against the system, and Madonna has always been one of the biggest LGBT allies for so long, especially back in the 80's when no one else would offer a spark.

Since it was announced yesterday fans are speculating now if she'll be performing next year in NYC Pride. Her new album, possibly named "Magic", is coming out next spring. Also it was just announced that Madonna has signed with Kelly Bush Novak (ID founder) from ID public relations. And Pride Live facebook page posted following pic, hinting at Madonna, her new album and her new public relation firm.

It's no accident Madonna actually visited Stonewall Inn 2 weeks ago in person. It is very possible they're working together on something interesting for NYC Gay pride next year.
    We shall wait and see.

Orlando Brown shocked fans with a bizarre look and strange statements during an intervention from Dr. Phil.
In recent years, his career has stalled as he's run into trouble with the law quite a bit.
"he has gone from a promising young actor to a homeless mentally ill addict, whose friends fear is near death."

    Shockers from his interview:
    • "My full name is Orlando Brown Prince Michael Jackson Jr. aka Blanket. My nickname I gave to myself. My father was Michael Jackson, the great Michael Jackson...I used to always wonder why I'm so astronomically blessed and gifted when it comes to being talented. I rap, sing and I do everything immaculately. The eyes. And also just speaking to different Jackson family members that, you know, have confirmed it. So yeah, it's a blessing to know that. I can sit here today and say, that yeah, that Michael Jackson was my father." ( he clarified Jackson was more "a father figure")
    • "I want to marry her[Raven-Symoné]. I have to find out a way to ask her. Right now, I'm just chilling."

    • "And I'm doing it for my kids as well. Four that I know of. Definitely looking forward to seeing them. I haven't met all of my children yet. I got a 2-year-old, 4-year-old...5-year-old, 8 and 11. Two-year-old still in the belly. We don't know [the name] yet. Honestly, I see them everywhere. But at the end of the day, I barely see them. I don't know them. They don't know me."

At the end of the episode Brown did accept the offer of treatment and has been at a duel diagnosis facility here in California since the conclusion of this interview.

Cardi B is not taking Offset back just yet.
The estranged couple was photographed looking happy as they rode a jet ski in Puerto Rico over the weekend.

The jet ski instructor tricked her into letting him take their picture on his phone and promised to delete it. He then sold the picture to TMZ.
“Let me tell you something about the jet ski ni**a, right? The instructor or whatever the fuck he is–he was taking pictures of us on his phone like, ‘Oh, I’m gonna send you these pictures so you guys can have a memory and I’m going to delete it.’ I’m like, ‘Oh OK.' What type of professional shit is that?”

Cardi explained why she was with Offset in Puerto Rico
“I just had to get fucked. That’s all. I feel rejuvenated, bitch. Bitch, I feel fucking baptized. I feel like a brand new fucking woman.”

Songs from 2018 That Plagiarized Seem HEAVILY Inspired
Inspired by the eye opening post by beysactingcoach about the thievery that occurred even on the most popular hits in history, in the opposite direction, there are artists who maybe have been #accused of #inspiring lowkey artists by artistic style or the songs themselves. The underground girls are fighting! Not really.

Here's 7 instances where we're not sure if people should be throwing lawsuits
    1. "Mantra" by Lo

    sounds like ➡️
    "Dreamer" by Charli XCX (2017)

I had to double check to see if these songs were produced by the same artist or if "Mantra" sampled the N1A opener but, nope. From the instrumental to the flow, they can almost be played at the same time over each other. #YouTriedIt!

    2. "Know Where" by Dead Sea

    sounds like ➡️
    "Oblivion" by Grimes (2012)

I don't know if is this experimental pop sound with soft reverb-ed out vocals is actually a trend but this song "Know Where" generally sounds like Visions era Grimes (I just chose Oblivion). Where was the artistic integrity, intellectual property...?
    3. "I Loved You First" by Joan

    sounds like ➡️
    "Someone Else" by LANY (2015)

I know the sound isn't all unique but LANY paved the way for a lot of the rising minimalistic pop sound w/ airy synths and semi-ironic juvenile lyrics (hi Lauv) seen especially with the duo joan. While these particular songs might not be as forward, artistic similarities are strong when comparing LANY's early EPs to joan's music released in the past year.
    4. "The Way You Used to Love Me" by Diamond Cafe

    sounds like ➡️
"It Is What It Is" by Blood Orange (2013)

Artist Diamond Cafe received a lot of valid comparisons to Blood Orange for obvious reasons - the retro r&b groove, synthy pop production, and breathy singing style.
    5. "10,000 Hours" by PRETTYMUCH

    sounds like ➡️
    "Oui" by Jeremih (2015)

It just seems like "Oui" would have inspired "10,000 Hours" by underground pop phenomenon PRETTYMUCH, specifically considering the Shai "If I Ever Fall In Love Again" sample used (appearing at 2:48 in Jeremih's song; throughout PRETTYMUCH's song), as well as the "aw-yeah" ad-libs from the post-chorus in "Oui" almost imitated in "10,000 Hours" (@ 1:18). Some fans caught the similarities but who knows if it's enough to be a 'rip-off'.

    However, #JusticeFor10000Hours and #OnMyWay
    6. "Shoot" by White Room

    sounds like ➡️
    "Fashion" by David Bowie (1980)

Sonically "Shoot" reminded me of "Fashion" but it can also sound like a lot of other new wave songs from that time. Bowie is kinda a household name already so it's not that bad to take direct inspo?
    7. "Flicker" by Rina Sawayama

    sounds like ➡️
    "Don't Think I'm Not" by Kandi (2000)

Indie pop queen Rina has been quite front with her sound being inspired by 90's and 2000's pop. With her single "Flicker", Rina took almost a direct format in the way "Don't Think I'm Not" has with the rhythm, tempo changes, and Miami bass sound. The choruses' melodies also ring similar to each other a little bit.

I am currently reading Sally Field's new autobiography, In Pieces (which is excellent, by the way, if anyone's interested in celebrity memoirs). And there's this story she tells in chapter nine about filming The Flying Nun on the same lot where The Monkees shot, around 1967.

The four guys who made up the Monkees (Davy Jones, Mike Nesmith, Peter Tork and Mickey Dolenz) would come over to her set together and watch her but never talk to her, just nudge each other, whisper and laugh. She could tell she was being made fun of, but was too painfully shy and embarrassed by the whole concept of her show to do anything about it.

Then one day, three of the Monkees (she doesn't say which one was missing) suddenly crowded their way into her tiny two-wheel trailer/dressing room. Still not addressing her, they just stood in front of her staring and making jokes to each other until finally Davy Jones stepped forward and said:

"I bet you give good head."

Unfortunately, 21-year-old Sally didn't know what "head" was (she'd never heard it called that) but the remark had sent the three men into such uproarious laughter that "I knew I was being humiliated" and she blurted out "Yes sir, you bet. You bet!"

She was rescued by someone calling the Monkees back to their set. Mortified by her own naivete and awkwardness, she says "It never occurred to me then that it might be their behavior that made me want to retch, not my own."

"People think that words don’t matter. I’m going to get into this Kevin Hart thing for just a second. Because it’s not about you having a joke. That’s not what it’s about. I’ve seen people and I’ve heard people who are not homophobic who do gay jokes. And you can tell that they’re not homophobic.

I think Monique, a long time ago, she did a joke about butt sex. It was a whole thing about butt sex and 'the gays,' you know. And the punchline was something like, 'Yeah, but don’t knock it till you try it!' And then we must stop the person who we know is using a joke, but she’s not a homophobic person. She’s not saying, 'If I come home and my four-year-old son is playing with a baby doll house, I’m gonna break it over his head and tell him it’s gay.'

That crosses a line. Because that allows your fans to think that [you can] hit somebody because you don’t like them. You don’t like their sexuality, 'so I can bash you in the head.' We’re not doing that anymore. And that is what Pose challenges. That’s what we’re saying. Y’all don’t get to have that language no more without somebody on the other side challenging that. You had long enough to spew that darkness into the world without somebody on the other side shedding some light on it. We’re done with that.

It’s march-into-the-streets time! We have an administration that thinks that it can, with a sentence, erase a whole group of people. And we’re not going to do anything about it? Transgender people don’t exist? Fuck that. I say to Kevin Hart, and I say to D.L. Hughley, I say to those people who think that they don’t need to apologize for shit and dig their heels in their toxic masculinity: But you want your rights! You want people to stop shooting your children in the back? But yet still, you turn around and oppress other people the same way you’re being oppressed.

Fuck that. Fuck you. We’re done."
