Former Disney Channel star Jordan Pruitt says she was groomed, sexually abused at 15

Former Disney Channel star Jordan Pruitt -- best known for her hits "Outside Looking In" and "Jump to the Rhythm" -- is opening up about the sexual and mental abuse she says she faced when she was just 15 years old.

In a Facebook post she wrote Monday afternoon, Pruitt, who retired from music last December at the age of 26, told her fans the grooming began during the shoot for the music video to "Outside Looking In," which was released in 2006.

"This person was running around the set like he owned the place and acting as if he was directing the whole video himself. I remember him having full control over what I was wearing and even what makeup they put on me," she wrote.

Pruitt says the unidentified man first became inappropriate her when she began recording her first album. According to Pruitt, her record label, Hollywood Records, had supposedly hinted that she needed to lose weight in order to record more music videos. She says the man hired a personal trainer for her and controlled how she looked and what she ate until she was done recording for the day.

"One day after I had lost over 20 POUNDS(did I weigh nothing?!?!) He told me that my "ass" looked nice. At first, I just said thank you. Then after thinking about it, It made me feel VERY uncomfortable. I was just 15 years old and never really heard anyone use those choice of words in that context before. This was the first of many times that led up to some of the worst days of my life," Pruitt wrote.

Without going into details, Pruitt says the man sexually abused her for two years of her life.

"I am a victim of child molestation because of him. And I STILL don't know how any of this even happened," Pruitt wrote. "He knew EXACTLY what he was doing; Almost as if he had done this many times before."

Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone by J.K. Rowling

After a lifetime of bottling up his magical powers, Harry finally feels like a normal kid. But even within the Wizarding community, he is special. He is the boy who lived: the only person to have ever survived a killing curse inflicted by the evil Lord Voldemort, who launched a brutal takeover of the Wizarding world, only to vanish after failing to kill Harry.

Though Harry's first year at Hogwarts is the best of his life, not everything is perfect. There is a dangerous secret object hidden within the castle walls, and Harry believes it's his responsibility to prevent it from falling into evil hands. But doing so will bring him into contact with forces more terrifying than he ever could have imagined.

The Most-Read 2018 Releases:
The Outsider by Stephen King

About: An unspeakable crime. A confounding investigation. At a time when the King brand has never been stronger, he has delivered one of his most unsettling and compulsively readable stories.

An eleven-year-old boy’s violated corpse is found in a town park. Eyewitnesses and fingerprints point unmistakably to one of Flint City’s most popular citizens. He is Terry Maitland, Little League coach, English teacher, husband, and father of two girls. Detective Ralph Anderson, whose son Maitland once coached, orders a quick and very public arrest. Maitland has an alibi, but Anderson and the district attorney soon add DNA evidence to go with the fingerprints and witnesses. Their case seems ironclad.

As the investigation expands and horrifying answers begin to emerge, King’s propulsive story kicks into high gear, generating strong tension and almost unbearable suspense. Terry Maitland seems like a nice guy, but is he wearing another face? When the answer comes, it will shock you as only Stephen King can.

Leah on the Offbeat By by Becky Albertalli

About: Leah Burke—girl-band drummer, master of deadpan, and Simon Spier’s best friend from the award-winning Simon vs. the Homo Sapiens Agenda—takes center stage in this novel of first love and senior-year angst.

When it comes to drumming, Leah Burke is usually on beat—but real life isn’t always so rhythmic. An anomaly in her friend group, she’s the only child of a young, single mom, and her life is decidedly less privileged. She loves to draw but is too self-conscious to show it. And even though her mom knows she’s bisexual, she hasn’t mustered the courage to tell her friends—not even her openly gay BFF, Simon.

So Leah really doesn’t know what to do when her rock-solid friend group starts to fracture in unexpected ways. With prom and college on the horizon, tensions are running high. It’s hard for Leah to strike the right note while the people she loves are fighting—especially when she realizes she might love one of them more than she ever intended.

The Most-Read Classics:
The Hobbit by J.R.R. Tolkien

About: In a hole in the ground there lived a hobbit. Not a nasty, dirty, wet hole, filled with the ends of worms and an oozy smell, nor yet a dry, bare, sandy hole with nothing in it to sit down on or to eat: it was a hobbit-hole, and that means comfort.

Written for J.R.R. Tolkien’s own children, The Hobbit met with instant critical acclaim when it was first published in 1937. Now recognized as a timeless classic, this introduction to the hobbit Bilbo Baggins, the wizard Gandalf, Gollum, and the spectacular world of Middle-earth recounts of the adventures of a reluctant hero, a powerful and dangerous ring, and the cruel dragon Smaug the Magnificent.

The Most-Read Nonfiction:
I'll Be Gone in the Dark: One Woman's Obsessive Search for the Golden State Killer by Michelle McNamara

About: A masterful true crime account of the Golden State Killer—the elusive serial rapist turned murderer who terrorized California for over a decade—from Michelle McNamara, the gifted journalist who died tragically while investigating the case.

"You’ll be silent forever, and I’ll be gone in the dark."

For more than ten years, a mysterious and violent predator committed fifty sexual assaults in Northern California before moving south, where he perpetrated ten sadistic murders. Then he disappeared, eluding capture by multiple police forces and some of the best detectives in the area.

Three decades later, Michelle McNamara, a true crime journalist who created the popular website TrueCrimeDiary.com, was determined to find the violent psychopath she called "the Golden State Killer." Michelle pored over police reports, interviewed victims, and embedded herself in the online communities that were as obsessed with the case as she was.

At the time of the crimes, the Golden State Killer was between the ages of eighteen and thirty, Caucasian, and athletic—capable of vaulting tall fences. He always wore a mask. After choosing a victim—he favored suburban couples—he often entered their home when no one was there, studying family pictures, mastering the layout. He attacked while they slept, using a flashlight to awaken and blind them. Though they could not recognize him, his victims recalled his voice: a guttural whisper through clenched teeth, abrupt and threatening.

I’ll Be Gone in the Dark—the masterpiece McNamara was writing at the time of her sudden death—offers an atmospheric snapshot of a moment in American history and a chilling account of a criminal mastermind and the wreckage he left behind. It is also a portrait of a woman’s obsession and her unflagging pursuit of the truth. Framed by an introduction by Gillian Flynn and an afterword by her husband, Patton Oswalt, the book was completed by Michelle’s lead researcher and a close colleague. Utterly original and compelling, it is destined to become a true crime classic—and may at last unmask the Golden State Killer.

During a regularly scheduled meeting tomorrow, the Academy Board of Governors will decide how to move forward after Kevin Hart left his position as Oscar host a mere 24 hours after the announcement was made.

Under consideration is whether or not to even have a host at all. Instead, celebs would come and go throughout the night to keep the show moving.

The group is said to have been blindsided by Hart's departure, hoping he would apologize and show remorse for his comments without dropping out of the gig. Given that Hart has been asked about those comments in the past and that they are out there for all to see, a top talent rep wondered how the Academy dropped the ball vetting him properly.

Sophia Bush Breaks Down Decision to Leave ‘Chicago P.D.,’ Being ‘Assaulted’ in a Room Full of Men

Her experience on the Chicago PD set:
-“When I started rattling off the list of what had been happening on set & was literally told to stop by my boss because this is all shit I have to call HR about and I really don’t want to deal with this anymore...”
-You start to lose your way when someone assaults you in a room full of people and everyone literally looks away, looks at the floor, looks at the ceiling, and you’re the one woman in the room and every man who’s twice your size doesn’t do something.”
-“Nearing my tenure there, I was probably difficult to be around because I was in so much pain and I felt so ignored, I feel like I was standing butt naked, bruised and bleeding in the middle of Times Square, screaming at the top of my lungs and not a single person stopped to ask if they could help me.”

On threatened to Sue NBC to get out of her contract:
“I said, ‘OK, you can put me in the position of going quietly of my own accord or you can put me in the position of suing the network to get me out oef my deal and I’ll write an op-ed for The New York Times and tell them why,’”

On One Tree Hill producers using cast private lives in storylines:
“They ran like TV ads about it, it was really ugly… They made practice of taking advantage of people’s personal lives, and not just for me and for my ex, for other actors on the show who would share as you do when you get close to people. Deeply personal things that were happening in their lives and they would wind up in storylines. It wasn’t OK… It was opportunistic and ugly… When you run a show, you’re like a parent, you’re supposed to protect your flock, and it was the opposite of that. And I imagine that was hard for him as well, you know? It was a very ugly situation on their part. I think they kind of lived for the drama.”

The Queen of Christmas, Mariah Carey is rising again on the charts. "All I Want For Christmas Is You" has reached a new peak of #7 on the Billboard Hot 100, two weeks out before Christmas. Last year, the song re-peaked at #9 during the Christmas week. The Lambs are determined to reach #1 and are streaming/buying/Doublelisting it.

Although not everybody has that - to their credit, but it would be Mariah's 19th #1 if it reaches the summit.

The song was not eligible to chart for years because of dumb Billboard rules that were changed a few years back.
