Disney announced today that production has begun on The Mandalorian, the first live-action series in the Star Wars franchise, which will premiere on Disney upcoming streaming service. They also released the first image as well as the synopsis and first set of directors.

After the stories of Jango and Boba Fett, another warrior emerges in the Star Wars universe. The Mandalorian is set after the fall of the Empire and before the emergence of the First Order. We follow the travails of a lone gunfighter in the outer reaches of the galaxy far from the authority of the New Republic.

Pedro Pascal has been rumored to be cast in the lead role.

Dave Filoni (Star Wars: The Clone Wars, Star Wars Rebels) will be directing the first episode. Additional episodic directors include Deborah Chow (Jessica Jones), Rick Famuyiwa (Dope), Bryce Dallas Howard (Solemates), and Taika Waititi (Thor: Ragnarok).

The series will be written and executive produced by Emmy-nominated producer and actor Jon Favreau, as previously announced.

Bradley Cooper's A Star Is Born hits theatres tomorrow, and industry analysts are forecasting a massive debut for the movie.

According to Box Office Pro, ‘A Star Is Born,’ Cooper's directorial and Gaga's big screen debut, is estimated to earn between $40 million and $60 million in its first three days in the United States alone. That would make it the third-highest opening weekend ever for a musical film, only behind Disney's Beauty and the Beast, which bowed with $175 million last year and Pitch Perfect 2’s $69 million opening weekend in 2015.

In the long run, A Star Is Born is estimated to gross over $170 million domestically, but is very likely to beat the projections as the response from both critics and fans has been overwhelmingly positive.
