New Richard Ashcroft song/music video - 'Surprised By The Joy'
This video features Richard driving through town. He ends up at a beach and makes some boyband-worthy reaches towards the camera while a girl is featured in the background, staring at the ocean. He eventually runs towards her, they hug, and walk away holding hands. Surprised by the ending, tbh!
This 6-minute song is the first song of his upcoming album, Natural Rebel, which will be out on October 19th. A shorter version of the song can be found on Spotify.

So, Xavier Dolan's movie 'The Death and Life of John F. Donovan' has finally seen the light of day, as it just premiered at TIFF, and has been getting mostly good reviews. Actual critics (from the French I could pick up) are saying the movie will be divisive given the themes and the way Dolan directs, and they don't seem as fond of it as those at the audience tweeting first reactions.
Looks like the lone standout in this movie is Jacob Tremblay, who of course gave another great performance, so perhaps we got a very young Supporting Actor nominee in the race? 'The Death and Life of John F. Donovan', with its star-studded cast (Kit Harington in the title role, Natalie Portman, Susan Sarandon, Thandie Newton, Michael Gambon, Bella Thorne, Kathy Bates, etc), still has no release date.

THE DEATH AND LIFE OF JOHN F. DONOVAN is not perfect and feels a tad dated, only because society has moved so forward since the 90s. But it combines the best of what makes Dolan's films so great, and is led by a fantastic performance from Jacob Tremblay. The finale is TREMENDOUS!

But that’s really it, because, at the end of the day, we’re all just humans and if we’re attracted to each other, we’re just attracted to each other. So, I just explore that fluidity all the time.”

- Named Shiny Foundation, it was launched and is directed by Jonghyun's mother, Lee Eun Kyung. It will be run based on royalties collected from the music Jonghyun created (ie: composed, produced, wrote the lyrics to). This includes proceeds from his album released posthumously in January, Poet | Artist (aka one of the best Korean albums of the year).
- The primary goal of the organization is to help young cultural artists who "walked down the same path" as Jonghyun through the establishment of a psychological consultation center that "will give young artists a place to heal their souls of the various scar they receive from being public figures".
- They also plan to implement scholarship opportunties through collaboration with performing art high schools based in South Korea, and will be holding an arts festival every December to remember and celebrate Jonghyun.
- The Korean name of the organization (빛이나) is inspired by the title track of Poet | Artist, "Shinin'". You can follow the official Instagram for the organization here.

Nyle DiMarco calls out Netflix’s ‘Sierra Burgess Is A Loser’
Model, actor, and my husband: Nyle DiMarco called out Netflix’s latest teen flick on Twitter for its Trash storylines:
“So one of my close friends' deaf brother is in Sierra Burgess. When I learned, I was elated. Finally more deaf actors/representation & ASL inclusion in films...only to find out the deaf character was written and used for a terrible joke.
PS- pretending to be deaf is NOT ok.”
The actor Nyle is referring to is Cochise Zornoza, who plays Ty, little brother to main character Jamey (Noah Centineo).
In the film, Sierra (Shannon Purser) meets Jamey in person after catfishing him and talking on the phone with him. She worries he’ll recognize her voice, so she does not speak and pretends to be deaf. Jamey calls his brother Ty over and introduces him to Sierra. He is visibly excited and speaks to her in ASL, but she doesn’t know how to respond back and after few awkward seconds, she gives him a fist bump.
Nyle adds: “There were homophobic and transphobic jokes as well. It is extremely easy to make jokes about marginalized/disfranchised groups...but that makes you a lazy writer. And honestly you shouldn’t make these jokes AT ALL because our lives are on the line.”

Paramore is retiring a controversial song from live shows
Paramore played a show on September 7th in their hometown Nashville. Hayley sat down on the stage and talked with the audience. She explained that they have been together since 2003. Looking back at a particular song she wrote when she was 17, Misery Business. She said how it's not right to call someone a whore, ever and how she doesn't feel that way now. People have expressed how anti-feminist the song is. So, the song will now be retired and the last time they played it was Friday night.
