Aaron Paul Helps Man Propose in Best Engagement Video Ever

0
0

By ALEX HEIGL

Jason Lord recently proposed to his girlfriend of three years, Jackie Prater, and he really pulled out all the stops.

Shortly after the pair started seeing each other, one of their dates involved "drunkenly dueting to Mr. Big's 'To Be With You,'" and "the song has been an inside joke for them ever since," according to the video. So Lord enlisted a few friends, and put together a band to help him sing the song to Prater.

But that wasn't the biggest surprise Lord had for Prater: He won a personalized video from Aaron Paul of Breaking Bad fame – Jackie's favorite actor – after donating to Paul's wife's charity. So, as the group finishes their song, Jesse Pinkman himself pops up in a video to cue Lord's proposal. (She said "yes.")

"I couldn't be happier for you," Paul adds at the end. Neither could we.

Congratulations, Jason and Jackie, and thanks, Jason, for raising the bar so staggeringly high for the rest of us.

I hate over the top proposals but still sob like a baby at them.

Top 10 (5) Most-Searched Celebrity Weddings of 2013

0
0

2013 was filled with celebrity weddings, from super-secret elopements to elaborate, star-studded Hollywood events. Google just revealed the top 10 weddings that blew up their search engine this year. Take a look back at what made these weddings memorable!

10. Shenae Grimes and Josh Beech

The former 90210 star made a splash when she walked down the aisle (to house music!) in a black Vera Wang gown back in May. She and her model/musician husband exchanged vows in an intimate ceremony outside of London.

9. Sean Parker and Alexandra Lenas

The Facebook/Napster billionaire spared no expense on his lavish Lord of the Rings-inspired wedding to singer/songwriter Alexandra Lenos in June. The bride worn a stunning gown by Elie Saab, while the groom called upon Lord of the Rings costume designer Ngila Dickson to outfit himself, the couple's infant daughter, and their 300+ guests, which included Emma Watson, Olivia Munn, Sting, Metallica drummer Lars Ulrich, Sean Lennon, Allison Williams, Twitter inventor Jack Dorsey, MTV founder Bob Pittman, Wikipedia co-founder Jimmy Wales, and Facebook co-founders Dustin Moskovitz and Chris Hughes (Mark Zuckerberg was invited but sent his regrets).

However, not everyone was a fan of the over-the-top $10 million celebration; Parker was hit with a $2.5 million fine for not obtaining the proper permits for his wedding setup, which included a cottage, fake ruins, waterfalls, staircases, and a massive dance floor.

8. Kelly Clarkson and Brandon Blackstock

After deciding they were just too busy to plan a wedding, the "Tie it Up" singer and the talent manager scrapped their plans for a 200-guest backyard celebration and decided to elope instead in October, joined only by their officiant and Blackstock's two children (not even Clarkson's mother scored an invite).Soon after the nuptials, Clarkson shared a sweet video of the intimate affair on Twitter.

Post-wedding, Clarkson made it clear that the next item on her to-do list was having a baby, so it didn't come as a shock when she announced in November that the couple is expecting their first child together.

7. George Lucas and Mellody Hobson

The Star Wars creator married businesswoman Mellody Hobson at California's Skywalker Ranch in June. On the guest list: Oprah Winfrey, Robert De Niro, Glenn Close, Harrison Ford, Calista Flockhart, Quincy Jones, and Rashida Jones. Former New Jersey senator Bill Bradley walked the bride down the aisle. Journalist Bill Moyer performed the ceremony, while director Francis Ford Coppola gave a reading. Lucas' son Jett served as his best man, and his two daughters, Katie and Amanda, were bridesmaids.

At the reception, Janelle Monae and Van Morrison performed, and filmmaker Steven Spielberg gave a toast. "He joked that the Force finally had a name: Mellody!" a source told Us Weekly.

A week later, the newlyweds hosted another star-studded wedding celebration in Chicago, where they were joined by Prince (who performed, along with a 22-piece band), Robin Williams, Al Roker, Gayle King, Jesse Jackson, Hayden Christensen, Rachel Bilson, and Ne-Yo.

In August, the couple welcomed their first child together, a daughter born via a surrogate.

1. Kerry Washington and Nnamdi Asomugha

The Scandal star and NFL player earned the top spot on the most-searched list, no doubt due to how little we know about the couple's secret wedding in June. "I don't talk about my personal life in the press, but I will say I'm really happy," Washington told People. "I'm blessed in all areas of my life."

"I'm walking around in the world with my ring. And when people say congratulations, I say thank you," she told Glamour. "But I'm going to continue to not talk about it and just let it unfold."

What we do know: The pair exchanged vows at a friend's house in Hailey, Idaho, where they were joined by family and close friends who flew out on a private plane chartered by the newlyweds. Washington's parents signed the marriage license as witnesses, and Asomugha's sister officiated. "They said their own vows, people stayed at the house. It was really simple and sweet," a guest shared with People. The bride wore a minimalist slim-fitting white gown. No photos have leaked.

In October, the actress revealed that they're expecting their first child together.

Alan Cumming: We Bisexuals “Have A Bad Rap”

0

You think you know Alan Cumming but you have no idea. The former 'Bond boy' and mutant, now Eli Gold from The Good Wife, dives into the deep end and dishes about everything from his love life and what makes him tick behind closed doors to the inside scoop on his upcoming projects in 2014. Prepare for Alan Cumming—revealed in this Instinct web exclusive interview.

First off, I have to tell you, you're basically the new Victor Garber, delving into both stage and screen. Tell us what you're currently working on and what's coming up for you?

ALAN: The new Victor Garber? I’ll take it! [Smiles] I am back on The Good Wife and I am doing that until the end of March 2014. I'm also writing a book, or finishing a memoir, rather, about some stuff that happened to me a few summers ago surrounding my father and my grandfather—quite intense! I recently went to London to promote Any Day Now, a movie I did last year... and I'm also doing Cabaret on Broadway again in April of next year. Rehearsals begin in January. So, I'm busy! But I'm excited to go back and play a character on Broadway after so many years since I first played it when I was only 28. Now I'm 48, and I think older and wiser.

Many people may not realize since you play Eli Gold, an American, on The Good Wife, that you are actually Scottish.

ALAN: Exactly, and it's true. People can’t get over it!

Going back to Broadway, it's public knowledge that you work with and support Broadway Cares/Equity Fights Aids. Are there other organizations that are important to you that you also work with?

ALAN: Absolutely. Gay rights and gay youth like the Ali Forney Center and the Trevor Project. I also support AMFar and I am planning a trip to Toronto to do a project for them. There's also a thing called Intact America which is all about trying to stop random circumcision in America. I think circumcision is a terrible thing. I am also an Ambassador for IGLHRC, the International Gay and Lesbian Human Rights Commission, an amazing organization that is a watchdog for human rights abuses against gay people all over the world. As we know this is on the rise obviously with countries in Africa, Uganda and of course now with the whole Russian thing. And I also work with Cyndi Lauper on her True Colors Foundation. All very important causes.

Let's go a little deeper on the topic of rights and equality. I know you are married. With several states in the U.S. allowing same sex couples to marry, do you think we truly have equality?

ALAN: Yes, I am married. But, no—not at all is there equality. What I think is great about marriage for gay people, other then having those rights, is the ritual that we now have that includes everyone—your family and friends and all the people you love most in the world who get to come together to celebrate your relationship. We have never had that before … I think that it's really an amazing thing. For me, I really felt that at our wedding. I have also been married before to a woman. But it struck me when I got married to Grant, how great it is to be able to do this with all of our family. We first got married in London and then here in New York on our 5th wedding anniversary. I think we have a long way to go even though great strides have been made. Until all the laws are equal, we can’t blame people for being prejudiced if the law of the land does not fight that prejudice.

Let's switch gears and dish a little. Tell me three things about you that no one knows ... but will now.

ALAN: Let's see ... I'm really good at cooking for large numbers, I was once a model for Lee Jeans, and—believe it or not—I have been stranded on a deserted island. [Long pause]

That’s a story we definitely want to hear! I guess that's another interview though?

ALAN: YES! [Smiling]

Who is your favorite female idol, living or deceased?

ALAN: Oh delicious! [Said as he bites into a cupcake] I guess it would be Meryl Streep—it just doesn’t get any better. She is such an amazing person. She has a lightness in the sense that she doesn’t take the business of 'show business' too seriously.

Have you worked with her or would you like to in the future?

ALAN: I actually did a poetry reading with her once where I did the male part, so I have worked with her, but not really. I just really like her and I think she is super sexy. Also, another woman that I think is incredible is Juliette Binoche, a French actress (and star of Chocolat), as she is absolutely amazing. When I first saw her she was in The Unbearable Lightness of Being. She's another one with a unique and special lightness.

What about a male idol?

ALAN: That’s a harder question—I don’t know! I suppose it would be someone like Charlie Chaplin. I think he is fascinating ... so much darkness and a happy go lucky fella. I like that and I think that‘s very important as an actor.

Sitting here looking at you, I have to ask, how do you look so young? Do you have an exercise routine, do you work out, any special foods you eat?

ALAN: Thanks! I'm vegan, so that definitely helps. I do exercise a lot and I sweat a lot. I always drink water and with every alcoholic drink I always have a glass of water in the other hand. I'm very conscious of how my body works and making sure everything is working well together. I moisturize, and again, being vegan I am very conscious of what goes into my body.

Being an actor, aging must be a challenge. Are you afraid of aging?

ALAN: Actually, no. I really feel better being vegan and exercising. I'm not scared of getting older—I kinda like it, in fact.

You said that you moisturize. Do you also manscape?

ALAN: I do a little but I would never go somewhere to be manscaped! I do a little downstairs just around the shaft. I like to look like a man. I think it’s a dangerous trend to shave the entire body.

Alright, that brings us to underwear. The magazine just shot their underwear editorial and our readers may be curious as to what type you wear?

ALAN: Well, I don’t wear boxers … I need support! I don’t like things dangling around. I wear a jock strap usually on stage. Typically, I must admit, I don’t wear anything. When I do, I wear briefs or actually a jock strap because I just like the way it feels.

We're on a roll here! What is one of your sexual fantasies?

ALAN: Haha! [Laughs] Give me an example!

Sex in a moving vehicle?

ALAN: Yes. I have done that. [Grin]

Alright. Sex with a uniformed official?

ALAN: I like that too! Actually, I like everything. However, when I look at porn—and I do, we all do—I'm not into that whole fisting thing or when you put the metal rod in the hole of the penis. Ouch! Role play is great and I love watching all types of porn. I have a healthy sexual appetite and a healthy imagination. I still define myself as a bisexual even though I have chosen to be with Grant. I’m sexually attracted to the female form even though I am with a man and I just feel that bisexuals have a bad rap.

Well done navigating the hot seat! A cooler question ... what do you do to relax?

ALAN: Mostly I go out with friends to have a drink and a chat. When I really want to relax, I also have a place up in the Catskills in the middle of nowhere with rolling hills … it’s so quiet and peaceful. I can walk around naked if I want to and it’s something that reminds me a lot of how I grew up.

Any books you're currently reading or have read recently?

ALAN: Oh yes. Maggie and Me, a novel about a Scottish lad coming of age when Margaret Thatcher is coming into power as Prime Minister. The other book is Your Cat is Dead. But I don’t read too much as I have so much to read for work—emails almost every night with scripts or projects to consider.

Before we wrap up here, is there anything else you want the Instinct readers to know or a final message to leave them with?

ALAN: Yes. Enjoy and celebrate life. Just keep being yourself—for that is the most important thing about you.

Little Mix: 'We're gonna collaborate with Nicki Minaj'

The pop quartet have been talking up a potential hook-up with the candy-haired US rapper for weeks now.

Jesy Nelson, 22, told me: “We’ve been saying for ages that Nicki Minaj is the person we all want to record with.”

Jade Thirlwall, 20, agreed: “If we say it enough it may happen. We always envisage a rapper on our music.”

Now all the name-dropping appears to have paid off.

It seems Minaj, 31, who has been a featured artist on over 40 singles, is ready to add Little Mix to her lengthy collaborative discography.

BASS BABE: US star Nicki Minaj is ready to do a collaboration with Brit girls Little Mix [WENN]

The alien polishing Minaj’s Starships told me: “Nicki is busy working on her third solo album right now but she’s always keen to maintain her chart presence.

“A Little Mix collab would be a perfect fit next year.”

Their second album Salute is already out, but the girls reckon they can still squeeze Minaj onto a reworking of an album track. Jesy explained: ‘We wanted to have collaborations on our new album but it didn’t happen. It was like that with the Missy Elliot collaboration on the last one. We didn’t know she was going to do it until after it was released.”

Any recording would take place when the girls support Demi Lovato, 21, in America early next year.

The foursome return to the UK for an arena tour next May with new dates being added in Glasgow and Cardiff.

Little Mix release Little Me as their new single on December 22.

Duck Dynasty Star Phil Robertson Snubs Barbara Walters' Interview To Go Hunting

0
0

It appears there are more important things than getting interviewed by the iconic Barbara Walters following the claims that Duck Dynasty's Phil Robertson decided to go hunting instead of attending an interview with the iconic newswoman.

“Tell him I have never been superseded by a duck before,” Walters quipped during the special, according to a transcript of the interview obtained by FOX411. The special will air Wednesday on ABC.

“He would rather shoot ducks than talk to us, yes?” Walters mused.

Miss Kay attempted to explain her husband’s decision to the famed interviewer.

“Oh yes. Between, uh, November and January, I told him I didn’t ever plan to die then, because, he may not be at my funeral,” she said with a laugh.

The Robertson family told Walters it isn’t the first time Phil has opted out of a big event in favor of hunting. Jessica, Jep’s wife, also spoke to Walters alongside her mother-in-law.

“Well, he missed the birth of Jase, Missy’s husband, because he was in the duck line and he wouldn’t leave…” she recalled. “And so yes, he missed the birth of his son.”

Kay jumped to her husband’s defense, explaining that he was “very young and immature” at that time.

But they won't be the only ones Barbara will be interviewing on the TV special as the legendary newswoman will sit down with the “girl on fire” Jennifer Lawrence. Meanwhile, the queen of twerking, Miley Cyrus, and power couple Kim Kardashian and Kanye West also made the list.

Blake Lively Talks About Her New Website, Re-Pinning Ryan Reynolds, Favorite Tumblrs

0
0

Blake Lively walks into the room, chewing. "Hi, I'm Blake." With all the talks of her rumored new lifestyle site, it's appropriate that she's eating, looking, and smelling beautiful, all at the same time. It's the very picture of having it all, the Blake Lively way.

Earlier reports claimed that the site was "lifestyle"-focused, but she tells the Cut those rumors were largely inaccurate. "No," Blake confirmed, "It will be a site, but not necessarily for lifestyle." Read on to learn about the new site, how she smells, her favorite YouTube animal videos, and if she would ever get a pixie cut.

A lot of people are excited to hear about your upcoming lifestyle site.
I don’t know if it’s a lifestyle site. I was very vague about it. And because of that, everyone was filling in the blanks about what other sites it could be like. It’s not accurate. I’m creating a brand that I felt the need for. I was on my show [Gossip Girl] for so long that I really wanted to break from acting, because it lost its excitement for me in a way, because it was such a job.
I never lost my appreciation for [acting], though. I just felt like I didn’t have as much to offer because I got used to it. I wanted to explore other passions. At first, I didn’t know what I wanted to do. The company came from something separate when I had that free time. It's a space I wanted that I couldn’t find anywhere else. I’m still being very vague, intentionally. But I’m really, really excited. By the time it launches, we will have developed it for two years. So it’s a lot of time, energy, efforts, resources, working with amazing people.

So it’s not a lifestyle site?
No. Yes, it will be a site. But not necessarily lifestyle.

But I imagine it will include food.
Yes. You cannot be around me without talking about food. It’s a little bit of everything.

And it will launch this upcoming year?
Mhmm. Yes. This upcoming year.

What do you think of other lifestyle sites like Goop?
Oh my gosh, I’m such a huge fan. I think Goop is amazing. Pinterest I’m obsessed with. Etsy is not a lifestyle site, but it’s pretty amazing what they’ve done. But I think it’s also neat, all the blogs. They don’t need a huge company behind them. You can just be a fan of fashion, art, or a fan of all things. There are so many Tumblrs I like to follow.

What kind of Tumblrs?
Motorcycle Tumblrs. Everything. I have a Pinterest account. I don’t have any friends on it. It’s not under my name. It’s not like, top secret. It’s just a way that I can store the boards.

So people have no idea that Blake Lively could be re-pinning their pins.
Yeah. Sometimes, it’s weird. If I’m looking [at] hair things, I see, oh, that’s me! That’s so weird! But I do re-pin pictures of Ryan. [Laughs.]
I don’t go on a lot of food sites. I haven’t found a food site I really connect with. I like to shop for food, at places like Eataly, Chelsea Market, in NYC. I love different food magazines, from Bon Appétit to Martha Stewart Living. Martha Stewart Living is the only magazine I’ve ever purchased my whole life.

Have you made anything from the Goop cookbooks?
No, I haven't. I don’t really cook from a cookbook. But I have her cookbooks. I have so many: Thomas Keller’s whole collection, Joel Rubochon, and Nigella Lawson. To me, they’re more like coffee-table books. I think her cookbook is beautiful. I geek out with Thomas Keller. He’s my number one. He’s like my superhero. Chefs are like my rock stars. I could meet the biggest movie star and feel so honored, but if I see a chef, I just want to hide under a table.
There’s also this third party, I just discovered her a few days ago. It was James Beard, Julia Child, and one other woman, and they all started a culinary school together. You know about James Beard and Julia Child, but this is the third missing part. It’s one of the most beautiful cookbooks I’ve ever seen. I literally saw it two days ago.

What kind of food plans do you have for the holidays?
There’s a lot of baking in the house. What’s nice about the holidays is my mom cooks a lot. I really want to start learning her recipes, because it’s something you take for granted your whole life, that your mom does that, and then you forget to learn it. Like my granny’s biscuits. My brother learned to make them ... and then one day, she wasn’t there any more. But she is there — every time we make our biscuits, she’s there.
We mostly survive off cookies. Double chocolate, chocolate cream cheese, chocolate pecan, peanut-butter chocolate, peanut-butter cookies, oatmeal, sugar cookies. We make just a huge vat of dough, of about eight different kinds, and then we are done in a few days and have to make another batch.

What do you think you smell like day-to-day?
I think I smell like … cookies. [Laughs.]

What kind of cookies?
Chocolate chip, with a lot of pecans. No, but I really do wear Gucci Premiere every day. I love that it has feminine and masculine [notes]. I’m very particular with fragrance, and used to wear a different fragrance in the summer and winter, or for different events. But because Gucci Premiere is so nicely balanced, I don't have to do that anymore.
When you switch up fragrances, what’s missing is that power. That potion power. That special power. Like when I smell my mom. Or when I smell my sister … it’s like, the most … it’s a superpower! Or a love potion. I didn’t have that signature fragrance because I was changing the fragrance depending upon the time and place. But having a fragrance that feels appropriate in all those settings, that’s a new and cool thing to have.

Right, with a dry down of cookie.
Yeah. [Laughs.] Leather and wood and chocolate chip cookies.

Your hair is envied by a lot of people. What do you do to take care of your hair?
Something my mom does that is kind of cool: She puts coconut oil on the ends of her hair. When you shampoo your hair, you’re trying to get the oil out of your roots, but you really want the rest of your hair to maintain its moisture. When you put coconut oil on the ends, the shampoo gets oil out of the roots, but also protects the ends.

A lot of other celebrities have been getting pixie cuts recently. Would you?
Hmm, I don’t know. For me, my hair is like a shield. I’m actually a pretty shy person by nature. With long hair, you can put your hair down and cover your face. I think a pixie cut is so cute. I just think that everyone that has one is the most courageous person. It’s so daring to do that! I get geeked out by people when they do that. They’re awesome. Would I do it? Maybe. But it’s totally ballsy. You see someone do that and you think, I want to be friends with them. They’re really brave.

You’re known for doing your own styling for events. What is your approach to beauty?
I like doing my own makeup and hair for events. I think it’s fun.

Do you ever watch YouTube videos for makeup tips?
No. I actually didn’t know you could do that. I watch YouTube for lots of dog videos. Have you seen the hound and the orangutan? I want an orangutan so bad. It's so cute. [Laughs.]

It is so cute!
I didn’t know they did [makeup] on YouTube. But I’m luckily through doing photo shoots, I get to work with so many amazing hair and makeup artists. That’s my version of YouTube. How do you do Veronica Lake hair? And like, today, with Serge Normant, I get to ask him, How do you do that? What did you do?

Maybe you should make a YouTube tutorial video about beauty with an orangutan.
Or with Jessica the hippo? She’s so sweet. [Laughs.]

"In front of the camera, she makes you feel like she is the only girl in the world," said Rousteing. "When the woman that inspires you wears your creations, your vision feels complete."

Kanye does NOT want to make Kim Kardashian the "next Beyonce"!

0

Even though Kanye West believes he and Kim Kardashian will be more a more powerful couple than Beyonce and Jay Z, RadarOnline.com has exclusively learned the new mother doesn’t have pop star aspirations, despite numerous reports.
Last week reports surfaced of an interview West did with WGCI radio in Chicago where he was quoted as saying, “I am going to make Kim Kardashian a bigger performer than Beyonce. Me and Kim will soon be the first couple of Hip Hop” — but that interview never happened and the pompous rapper never said that quote.

In a new interview with Saturday Night Online, West denies that Kim would ever want to delve into his industry of music, and Radar has the exclusive video clip.“With ‘Bound 2′ you got to work with Kim. She turns to you and says, ‘I wanna work on music.’ Would you help produce that project?” the host Garrett asks West.“I don’t think she has any desire to do it,” West concedes.

tumblr_mxqw87Hn6H1r0f6f3o1_500
Selena Gomez may have made headlines recently for supporting Demi Lovato during her time in rehab...but both stars have been there for each other over the years.
During a recent radio interview for Boston's Jingle Ball, Selena talked about Demi, explaining, "I think what people forget is that she's actually been there for me, too. I've known her since...we were best friends since we were 7."
She continued, "We had a time where we did grow apart, but there's not a single person on this planet that knows me like she does."
Selena and Demi have history, as Sel explained, "She goes into my darkest place, and she goes into my lightest most incredible memories. There's nothing like her and there's nothing like us, so I will always cherish her...she's like my sister. I'm very, very proud of her."
Aw.
Selena reportedly went along with Demi recently when she spoke to a group at a rehab facility.
She also posted a pic of herself and Demi cuddled up in a BFF hug, following Demi's recent Access Hollywood tell-all interview about her cocaine and alcohol addictions.
There has been plenty of focus on Selena's support of Demi, but it's nice to hear that they've really been there for each other--and that they're like sisters.
Last week, Demi and Selena were reportedly spotted having dinner together at The Cheesecake Factory.
See, celebs are just like the rest of us!

Laura doesn’t think Thalia should have received a star. She slammed Thalia by saying: "What achievements? For someone who has done three telenovelas? I don't really want to talk about it. They should give her a plaque for being the worst granddaughter!"

"Family is not with whom you share blood, but who is with you, who supports you, calls you, who creates bonds of love and respect, that is not my family," said the actress.
