- Will have another leg for the Dirty Computer tour next year. On the topic of the album, DC was a project she always planned to create: "I took my time to do those things and I think with Dirty Computer in particular, it was about creating community. Writing music has never been the goal. It's always been about, in the middle of lifting other people up, lifting myself."

- On pansexuality being the top searched word on Merriam-Webster when she came out: "It’s great that people are being educated. This was a very personal story that was not necessarily just about me but it was about a community of folks who have been pushed to the margins of society. You know like I know, our stories are being erased. They're not being told. People don’t realize that being free, being a free ass motherfucker, comes with sacrifice."

- Describes how sections of the album are purposely put together in sequence: "...you have “Dirty Computer;” you have, “Crazy, Classic Life;” you have “Take a Byte;” and then you have “Screwed.” Those four songs represent the reckoning. That is the part when society — your community or America — says to you, “This is who you are. You are a Dirty Computer. This is how we see you.” It’s when those who have historically been oppressor’s tell those who have been historically oppressed, “ This is who you are in society. This is how we look at you.'"

- Mentions Stevie Wonder's advice on how to handle political frustration: "I just asked him, you know, how did he get through the Civil Rights Movement. So, he told me to record what he was about to say because he wanted our generation to always have it to listen to, and he said, 'You know Janelle, listen, you're not going to win with words of hate. That's what your enemy is using. You're not going to win that way…'"

-Despite talks that the show will be coming back, no one has been contacted about a revival.

-TC stated “The other side of me understands that what we did was important. If it’s not going to be something that’s going to advance what we did… if we can’t push it forward let’s leave it what it is.”

Women Moviegoers Show Support for ‘Aquaman,’ .... and ‘Venom’

  • In honor of Women's Equality Day, Atom Tickets talked to women and did a poll; Aquaman, Venom, and Fantastic Beasts 2 are what moviegoers are most excited to see.

  • Night School was ranked as the most anticipated comedy.

  • 90% said they prefer to see a female and male duo in the movies rather than an all-male or all-female cast.

  • 12% of Women would rather watch content by female filmmakers.


“Aquaman” opens on Dec. 21, “Venom” opens on Oct. 5, “Fantastic Beasts” opens on Nov. 16.

- GOTG Vol. 3 production has been put on hold indefinitely.
- The crew was let go and told that they could pursue other jobs.
- Disney has said they'll resume production once they have a new director and a new Drax.
- Taika Waititi has had meetings with Marvel/Disney for an unspecified project.

  • Lisa Brennan-Jobs, Steve Job's daughter, is releasing a memoir called Small Fry on September 4th.

  • In it, there are details from her childhood and her father's refusal to claim her as his child. She notes that because of this, her mother was forced to hold several jobs and rely on welfare until a DNA test in 1980 proved he was the father.

  • Steve had spoken about this himself much later, stating: "I’ve done a lot of things I’m not proud of ... such as getting my girlfriend pregnant when I was 23 and the way I handled that."

  • Another (really weird) example in her book is when Steve was quite intimate with his 2nd wife (not Lisa's mother), Laurene, in front of Lisa. He was “pulling [Laurene] in to a kiss, moving his hand closer to her breasts,” and along her leg, “moaning theatrically,” Lisa writes, according to The Times. Lisa comments that she tried to leave, but he prevented her, saying, “Stay here. We’re having a family moment. It’s important that you try to be part of this family.”

  • On his deathbed, Steve claimed Lisa smelled "like a toilet".

  • She does not want people to focus on the bad parts, however, more on the fact he was a complicated man.

    Crunchyroll launches first new original series High Guardian Spice

    Former anime pirate streaming service Crunchyroll announced last Wednesday that they will be launching their first original series, High Guardian Spice, in 2019. High Guardian Spice will be produced by AT&T's Ellation Studios, who will also be launching studios both in Burbank, California, and Tokyo, Japan to produce content exclusively for Crunchyroll.

    High Guardian Spice is an anime/anime-inspired (depending on the source) series about four girls named Parsley, Sage, Rosemary, and Thyme going to a magical school to train to become guardians. It is created by Raye Rodriguez and will be a 2D animated series. The trailer boasts that its writing staff is completely comprised of women and that the production staff has an even ratio of men and women. Audu Paden (Animaniacs) will be the supervising director and producer. Amalia Levari (Over the Garden Wall) is the story editor, and Kate Leth is the staff writer.

    The general reaction to the news is mixed and a bit of a mess, but a lot of (mostly dudebro) people are upset with it for various reasons including:

    1. The focus on the diverse writing staff (you know where I'm going with this)

    2. The series being pitched as anime despite it being produced by white people

    3. The "Cal-Arts animation" style

    4. Kate Leth

    5. Crunchyroll taking money from their subscriptions to fund their own projects (making people uncertain as to whether or not they're actually supporting the Japanese studios) instead of fixing up their media player to run on HTML 5 when it's still running on Adobe Flash

    While Crunchyroll has not issued a response to the criticism, there has also been an outpouring of support for High Guardian Spice.

    MoviePass says goodbye to annual subscription plans

    *In today’s installment of MoviePass and The Ever Changing TOS Agreement, this time annual plans are taking a hit.

    *Until this point, users with annual subscription plans had been exempt from most of daily changes being made by the company, and could continue to see a movie each day.

    *As of right now, annual plans are now basically pre-paid monthly plans and will be subject to the same 3 movies a month limit, and will have to choose those 3 movies from a set list of films and showtimes which will change daily.

    *In an email allegedly sent to annual subscribers, MoviePass announced the new rules for annual subscribers and offered pro-rated refunds to users who were unhappy with the change.

    A couple of days ago, after two months of silence, Chris Ingham, 34, of TheInghamFamily channel finally responds to allegations that he had sent sexual messages to young fans. (One as young as 16)

    To save you the trouble of watching the 22 minute non-apology, he waffles on about his 'pregnant wife and kids' and how this has affected them. He worries that his wife might miscarry due to the stress, and that his kids are going to be bullied. (What about the death and rape threats your fans are sending the victims?)

    He doesn't acknowledge the girls he allegedly messaged, or apologise. He still appears to be claiming that he didn't do anything.
