• The Department of Justice announced Thursday that it is reviewing the rules that have guided distribution deals between Hollywood studios and movie theaters chains for the last 70 years.


• The current rules, known as consent decrees, have been in place since a landmark Supreme Court case in 1948 ruled in favor of the DOJ in their antitrust suit against Paramount Pictures. The ruling outlawed “block booking,” which required theaters to screen several B-Movies from a studio in order to be licensed to screen the most in-demand releases.


• The SCOTUS ruling also forced studios to sell their ownership stake in movie theaters, signaling the end of the movie palace era and the studio system that dominated the Golden Age of Hollywood.


• Makan Delrahim, who was appointed Assistant Attorney General for the DOJ’s Antitrust Division last year by Mango Mussolini, cited numerous changes in the motion picture business in support of this investigation


• This comes almost immediately at the heels of some controversial mergers between ATT and Time Warner, and more notably, with Disney and Fox.

As reported in this post, the Smashing Pumpkins played a special 30th anniversary show in New Jersey on Thursday night. With guests like Courtney Love, the 2 Killers who won't tour with their own band, Chino Moreno, Peter Hook, and Davey Havok, how did it all turn out????



Courtney Love may be in the middle of a lawsuit with Riverdale Reggie 1.0™, but she took some time out of her busy schedule to sing bangers like Celebrity Skin and Malibu.



Chino Moreno joined the band for Snail (played for the first time since 2000) and Bodies.



The 2 Killers who refused to play on the Wonderful Wonderful tour played Cherub Rock and 1979. James Iha makes an appearance at the beginning of both videos!





There was also a total Joy Division/New Order lovefest going on, as Age of Consent, Transmission, and Love Will Tear Us Apart were played. Courtney Love joined them on the final song, as did Davey Havok.

So, this week's episode of Younger where we finally got the payoff we were waiting for (After 5 fucking seasons), got me thinking about other tv couples that we had to wait quite some time to get together. Obviously, I haven't watched all tv shows ever, and also the ones I watched I sometimes can hardly remember lmao but I decided to make a post to spark up a discussion. These are some of the couples people wanted to get together but had to wait a few seasons (in no particular order):

1. Charles & Liza - "Younger"



They had a few moments even in season 1 where it was clear they had some sort of feelings for each other, but Liza was still discovering who she was outside of her marriage and was dating Josh while also lying about her age and wanting to succeed in publishing, so it wasn't the right time for them. Charles finally put his feelings on display when he kissed Liza at the end of season 2. After that, he tried to get her to go out with him but she was still caught up with Josh drama so that didn't happen. She continued dating Josh throughout season 3 but at the end she kissed Charles right when Josh was about to propose and that was the end of Josh/Liza. In season 4, Liza realized she actually loved Charles but then his ex wife came into the picture and Liza tried to get them back together for the sake of their kids, but Charles wasn't having that shit, he knew he wanted Liza and at the beginning of season 5 he told his ex wife that he wasn't interested in getting back together. But then he found out that Liza was lying about her age so we got half a season of him being mad and bitchy only to realize he still loved her and understand why she lied which led to them finally getting together.

2. Maxwell & Fran - "The Nanny"



This was one of the slowest burns possible. Since season 1 it was obvious both Fran and Maxwell liked each other but Maxwell couldn't make a move. Then later on they shared some kisses, Maxwell saying I love you and taking it back, Fran constantly reminding him of that fact, eeeveryone around them was rooting for Maxwell to finally make up his mind which he did after seasons and seasons of driving everyone crazy. The heads of the network even demanded for Max and Fran to get married during the show's run or they'd cancel the show lmao.



3. Niles & Cece- "The Nanny"



It was obvious from the first time they insulted each other, these two trolls would end up together. They used their insults as flirtation and finally in the last season they got together.



4. Niles &  Daphne - "Fraiser"



Niles was constantly pining for Daphne, ever since he saw her for the first time, while Daphne was completely oblivious to his thirst. It took her a bunch of seasons to realize that she also had feelings for Niles. Let me tell you, I watched this show for the first time last year and his pining got so fucking annoying because I knew they'd get together, I was only wondering when it would happen, and boy did I have to wait, jfc...The awkward but lovable creep got under Daphne's skin I guess.



5. Jake & Amy - "Brooklyn Nine Nine"



I love it when tv writers know what their story is and where it will go and they don't let crazy fans dictate the way they write their show and their couples. Jake & Amy had a distracting childish rivalry that evolved into a distracting childish courtship and ended with a distracting childish marriage and it's so beautifully written which is rare these days.



6. Oliver & Felicity - "Arrow"



I know people here genuinely hate this couple, and their fandom really ruins stuff for everybody, but if you look at this romance and forget about all the fandom drama and that one disastrous season, this story could have really worked. They began as friends, had great banter and chemistry (which is hard considering how wooden Oliver is), Felicity had a little crush on Oliver, but Oliver didn't want to be in a real relationship which could result in Felicity getting hurt, Felicity tried to get over her crush and date another hot dude, but then Oliver realized his feelings and they got together (the way they got together was cringe-worthy and not believable but the ending result was okay). I don't think the slow-burn in this case was intentional, i think they just got lucky and only realized later on that they basically wrote it as a slow burn of some sort and just ran with it and hoped for the best.



7. Barry & Iris - "The Flash"


Now this was a super cute romance that was planned from the start. Barry had a huge crush on Iris while they were kids and his crush grew over the years but he was really awkward and couldn't admit it but eventually he did it and now they're married. (i stopped watching the show but I assume they're still together lmao)



8. Chidi & Eleanor - "The Good Place"



Eleanor was annoyed by Chidi at first but then she grew to like him but there were always some obstacles that didn't let them be together. Season 2 ended with Chidi finally making up his mind and kissing Eleanor.



9. Luke & Lorelai- "The Gilmore Girls"



It took them 5 seasons to finally turn the friendship into romance but they finally did it in the end. I cannot remember the details, I just remember it being exhausting as fuck.



10. Schmidt & Cece- "The New Girl"



It was fun to watch them bicker and sneak around, but then Schmidt had to ruin it with dating Cece and his ex at the same time, but thankfully the show managed to turn it back around later and remind us why we liked the pairing in the first place.



11. Jane & Rafael - "Jane The Virgin"



So Jane had a crush on Rafael but that crush wasn't returned, then she met Michael and they got engaged, but then she got accientally inseminated with Rafael's sperm and gave birth to a son, during that time she fell for Rafael because Michael was having a hard time accepting that Jane was having another guy's baby...But then she and Rafael ended things and she got back with Michael while Rafael was pining for her, and she and Michael got married but then he died, and she was grieving and thought she'd never find love again but then she developed a friendship with Rafael and started pining for him while he was with other women and after all of that shit, they finally rediscovered their love. That of course until Michael showed up in their bedroom.

A new biography of Prince Harry says that the 33-year-old royal has come to the defense of the woman many people still blame for breaking up his parent's marriage: his stepmother, Camilla the Duchess of Cornwall.

According to author Angela Levin, Harry has this to say about the woman the tabloids routinely refer to as "Evil Camilla":

“To be honest, she’s always been very close to me and William. She’s not a wicked stepmother. Look at the position she’s coming into. Don’t feel sorry for me and William, feel sorry for her. She’s a wonderful woman and she’s made our father very, very happy which is the most important thing. William and I love her to bits.”

Levin also writes that Princess Diana visited the boarding school where William and Harry were living (OP's note: I believe this was while they were at Ludgrove School - William was 10 years old and Harry 8) to tell them that her marriage to their father was over, the day before the public announcement of the split was made in Parliament. Apparently, William burst into tears but Harry responded "I hope you'll both be happier now" and then asked what he could do to help.

Among Levin's revelations about the Princess' parenting are her claims that Diana routinely fired William and Harry's nannies because she would become jealous whenever her sons would get close to one of them, and that Diana introduced her sons to a string of men she was dating after she separated from their father and insisted that they call all of the men "uncle", even though a child psychologist had told her that it could have a detrimental effect on the young princes.

Having recently listened to this new song with auditory legend, Zayn*, I Thought "Wow, Timbaland! There's a name I haven't heard in a while. He had some good songs..."

Actually, he produced them, but it still counts. So, here they are, from his old SHOCK VALUE albums that are ten (!!!) and nine years old, respectively.


ONE AND ONLY ft. FALL OUT BOY

Was surprisingly not a single on the original SHOCK VALUE album, for some reason I always thought it was.

The Timbaland Part?: It's awkward and sounds like a cardboard box singing. But the rest of the song is cool.


MORNING AFTER DARK ft. NELLY FURTADO AND SOSHY

From SHOCK VALUE II, this is probably my favorite song on either album. It sounds like if DDR was done in the club, this song would be a favorite. Also, apologies to any Nelly Furtado fans who thought something new was happening with her.
The Timbaland Part?: Sounds a lot better than the above, thank you, Autotune!
Also, this MV is kind of hilarious.

*This is the first Zayn song I've listened to, I have no idea about this man.



THE WAY I ARE ft. KERI HILSON, D.O.E, SEBASTIAN

When Timba is the most famous person from your song ten years later, he just is. I'm not a music enthusiast  but I can't say I've heard of the latter two....again. Or ever.
You know this song, it's the tale about a man who brings nothing to the table but likes a woman and tries to convince her he's worth the time.
The Timbaland Part?: More like "The entire song sans 30 seconds is his part", and I already outlined it above.



TOMORROW IN THE BOTTLE FT. CHAD KROEGER AND SEBASTIAN

Yes kids, it's the Nickleback man, about making up with a partner who seems reluctant to do so. I legitimately like this song!
The Timbaland Part?: Is a lot of talking in response to Kroeger's yelling, but it works.


APOLOGIZE ft. ONEREPUBLIC

He had a lot of songs about struggling relationships, huh. This time features OneRepublic who, just like Fall Out Boy, are still kicking it in 2018. Good for them!
The Timbaland Part?: Is actually not here. Unless you count the mournful "Yeah....yeah......yeah........"



What did I miss? What else has he done? Does anyone else want a third SHOCK VALUE album?

Nashville's Hayden Panettiere has split from her fiancee, boxer Wladimir Klitschko. The pair have been together since 2009 and engaged since 2013 but never got married.

They share 3-year-old daughter Kaya, who lives with her father and his family in Europe and Florida while Hayden lives in Los Angeles.

The two are apparently on friendly terms and are working on ways to co-parent Kaya. Hayden has spoken in the past about her struggle with severe postpartum depression, and has had to take leaves of absence from filming Nashville in order to seek treatment.

Interviewed for InStyle's September issue (where she appears on the cover) by her friend Molly McNearney (who is also Jimmy Kimmel's wife) she was asked about a possible Friends reunion.

"Before that show ended, people were asking if we were coming back," Aniston says. "Courteney [Cox] and Lisa [Kudrow] and I talk about it. I fantasize about it."

However, Matt LeBlanc doesn't appear interested.
"But maybe we could talk him into it. Or we just give it some time and then Lisa, Courteney, and I could reboot The Golden Girls and spend our last years together on wicker furniture." She said.
