GUESS WHO!

The Rumors Were True: Nicki Minaj Has a Collab with Child Sexual Abuser Tekashi69

Follow-up to this post. Trigger warning for that post, as it discusses Tekashi69's child sexual abuse crimes in detail.

So, it turns out the rumors were true. As a last ditch effort to generate hype for her upcoming album due in 3 weeks, Nicki Minaj has released her collab with Soundcloud rapper and known child sexual abuser Tekashi69 (6ix9ine).

SOURCE
Edit: the music video is also out if anyone cares, but I can't embed because I'm on mobile. People on my timeline were talking about it and apparently Nicki and 69 play patty cake in it...ew

Trash remains trash. I wonder if that abuser will enter the mainstream due to this collab, but I don't know if Nicki has that much impact anymore. Sigh.

It appears that Marina and the Diamonds is no more... sort of.

Having changed her Twitter handle from @MarinasDiamonds to @MarinaDiamandis in July 2016, the "Blue" singer now seems to have officially retired the stage name she used to release her first three albums.

On Thursday, Diamandis retweeted an announcement by her label Neon Gold Records of a special concert celebrating its 10th anniversary. The concert flier simply lists "Marina" as one of the artists scheduled to appear, along with labelmates The Knocks and Alex Winston.

Fans are speculating that Neon Gold X, scheduled to occur on September 29 at New York City's Knockdown Center, will not only mark the live debut of the newly mononymous artist but also serve as the launchpad of a new era. Earlier this month, Marina sat down with Abbey Road Studios to discuss her upcoming fourth album, her first since releasing 'FROOT' in April 2015.

Tickets for Neon Gold X are onsale now.

- Korean beauty and fashion company "Stylenanda" wanted to promote one of its new nail polish colours.
- They used a picture of two hands: a white one and a brown one.
- This led to suspicion because the hands and palms of brown-skinned people are not the same shade.
- They probably just painted a white hand lbr
- The company has apologized and deleted the pictures.

A few people associated with James Gunn have responded to Disney firing him over the offensive jokes he made long before he did 'Guardians'.

(Blair is referring to how Gunn was one of four key people who supported her when she was deciding whether or not to come forward publicly with allegations that filmmaker James Toback had sexually assaulted her in 1999.)

Pratt, while not explicitly referring to Gunn, also wrote the following:

Evanna Lynch: J.K. Rowling "Is Constantly Deepening and Texturing the Magical World"

$

Evanna Lynch recently appeared in a July 2018 online exclusive of Schön! Magazine, photographed by Toby Shaw in his Hastings Studio at the Memorial Art Gallery. (Click for full size.)

  • She says: "Honestly, I have no idea [what to expect to see next from Harry Potter] and as a fan, I’m just excited to see the universe expanding and the stories delving deeper, into Dumbledore’s past especially [in Fantastic Beasts]. JKR is constantly deepening and texturing the magical world and I love that. There’s no other fantasy series that is quite so immersive."

  • She also discusses her past insecurities with staying true to Luna's character, wanting to "be liked for it", but struggled to separate herself from the character once the series ended: "I felt like I could have been absolutely anybody in a really awful, hollow way. I had no strong sense of who I was or what my worth was outside of being Luna, and yet I no longer felt like Luna. It was a very strange, lonely, unknowable time and I felt nothing was anchoring me to the world."

  • Says the Potter films helped her overcome her shyness.

  • When she was younger, she had misgivings about fame: "I felt like I was terribly ill-equipped to be a celebrity. The fame part of things was not easy. I was a teenager with acne and self-esteem issues and I vividly remember going to stay at the fanciest hotel and looking at myself in a gilded mirror, feeling like I was too ugly to stay in this room... It’s why I empathise so much with Luna and why confident social misfits always inspire me."

  • Discusses her recent work on the revival of Enda Walsh's Disco Pigs, which ran in London last summer and closed Off-Broadway in March. (It received positive reviews.)

  • Says she would love to play Lucia Joyce, the daughter of Irish writer James Joyce and a professional dancer who was diagnosed with schizophrenia in the 1930s. Simon Fitzmaurice, who directed her in the Irish indie drama My Name Is Emily (which had a limited release in the U.S. last year) planned to work on a project about Joyce with Evanna, though unfortunately passed away from an ongoing battle with MND/ALS in October 2017.

  • Discusses her vegan lifestyle, vegan butterbeer and her vegan podcast, The ChickPeeps, which she co-hosts with her former boyfriend and Potter co-star Robbie Jarvis (young James Potter in Order of the Phoenix).

  • Talks about her sexual repression due to her Catholic upbringing: "I thought I was asexual for a long time."

90s supermodel and star of "Justify My Love" vid claims Madonna stalked her

$

Amanda Cazalet, the model featured in Madonna's controversial mv, "Justify My Love," claims that the singer stalked her for two years after kissing her passionately in the video.

Cazalet was Jean Paul Gaultier's muse during the 90s.

--Madonna spotted her while attending a Jean Paul Gaultier show and hired her to be in the video. Called her the beautiful woman she'd ever seen.
--Cazalet was surprised when Madonna used tongue during their kiss in the video but summed it up to being "part of the job."
--Madonna became infatuated with the supermodel, sending her love letters and stating that Cazalet was "harder to seduce than the pope." Madonna pursued the Cazalet EVEN WHILE SHE WAS PREGNANT AND MARRIED, and even asked about the baby in the love letters. Madonna pursued Cazalet for TWO YEARS before giving up.
--Cazalet obviously ignored Madonna and went on to raise her family and live in St. Albans. Last month, she auctioned the letters for $50,000.

--Cazalet says Madonna's behavior would be "classed as stalking today."
--She also says "Madonna became obsessed with me. At the time I wasn't offended, but looking back, I realise I was taken advantage of by someone who, at the time, was my boss."

Octavia Spencer, Queen Latifah To Bring Racially Charged ‘The Rhinelander Affair’ To Screen

$

0

The Rhinelander Affair, written by William Kinsolving, follows the controversial 1925 divorce trial in New York involving a man from an upper-class New Rochelle family who married a bi-racial, working-class woman.

It is a ripped from the headlines story from the 1920s.

The project is being produced for the big screen by Mark and Christine Holder, Octavia Spencer, Queen Latifah and Shakim Compere’s Flavor Unit Entertainment and Dave Broome.

The issue was whether Alice Jones duped Leonard Rhinelander into marrying her by hiding the fact that she was bi-racial (mother was white and father was bi-racial).
Alice had to disrobe and show parts of her body to an all-white, all-male jury, to prove her case that there was no fraud and that Leonard had to have known she was part black.

It was a roller coaster ride about money, love, racism and betrayal.

Jodie Whittaker on Her Way To SDCC

Doctor Who Hall H Panel

{PANEL SUMMARY}
-Chris Chibnall talks about how during the 12 to 13 regeneration, a lot of the crew came to watch and were crowding around the monitors watching Jodie’s first take. They all were just like "Oh wow. Yep, she's the Doctor!"– Chibnall says the crew have been there for 10 or so years and he knew would be the harshest critics.
-Yaz (Mandip Gill) is 19 and from Sheffield, and she believes 1000000% in everything the Doctor says, and really really admires her. Like a lot.
-Tosin Cole is HILARIOUS and just cool and chill af. And keeps accidentally leaking spoilers.
-The relationship between the two male companions and between Yaz and the Doctor is really interesting, as well as between the three of them as friends.
-Jodie says the Doctor is a pillar of hope, striving for brightness and inclusion.
-The 13th Doctor treats everything with a sense of awe and respect, and has a true love for life and sense of joy
-LOTS of new villains and monsters to face!
-The most accessible inclusive season yet! Ten all new standalone episodes full of new heroes and new villains and new guest actors.
-They’re calling the companions FRIENDS not companions! Cuteness!

Interviews & Press
Includes press line, MTV, Variety, IMDB Boat, TVLine and EW Facebook Live.

{Summary}
-The first episode is not a gender-related story in terms of the Doctor having to get to grips with a change in physical gender appearance, as in other regeneration first episodes where the Doctor spends that episode getting used to their new form. Chris Chibnall says it’s bypassed in that episode, but in other episodes in the season when going to different time periods the issue of the Doctor appearing female does come up in how other characters react to her.
-The first story is more a story of survival.
-Each companion has a different outlook, character, age, gender, race etc, and each has a very different relationship with the Doctor, Mandip Gill says. They are complex intertwined relationships between them all, and it feels like an ensemble and a team between the ‘friends’ (not companions!) Jodie says.
-Jodie reminds everyone it may be new for recent times, but the ORIGINAL Doctor, the 1st Doctor, had three companions in the TARDIS.
-Jodie finds it interesting the moments of POV from other characters, and they have their own moments.
-Mandip says that the 13th Doctor gives specific jobs/tasks to specific companions/friends– whatever their task is, it’s definitely for that character, and couldn’t be for anyone else.
-Tosin says there isn’t competition for the Doctor’s attention – more for who is silliest on set (Bradley Walsh).
-Chris Chibnall reiterates that this is the most accessible season for anyone who has never seen the show, and you don’t have to know literally ANYTHING to watch and enjoy, and everything is explained completely.

What We Learnt Overall about DW Series 11 at SDCC...
-no two-parter episodes for Season 11! All standalones!
-all new villains, all new monsters - don't expect to see old villains like the Daleks popping up.
-there WILL be a Christmas Special!!
-new sonic screwdriver!
-Jodie calls the Doctor "a pillar of hope striving for brightness and inclusion"💖
-Series 11 will finally include the first stories in DW’s 55 year history by writers of colour!
-Also, Showrunner Chris Chibnall confirmed that the directors are equally split male/female, and all but one of the editors is female – with diversity behind the camera being a priority: "We’re doing lots, but our plan across time is to do lots more... It should be the most inclusive show on television. The whole concept of Doctor Who is that anybody can go anywhere and do anything, and we wanted to reflect that on-screen and off."
-The new TARDIS team is an ENSEMBLE of friends with the Doctor at their centre!
-Series 11 is the perfect starting point for those who have never seen DW before, as all new villains and stories and a fresh start, and anything that needs explaining will be. Deliberately the most inclusive and accessible series of Who yet.
