Because OF COURSE IT IS...and it's being made by the wrong people.

  • Michael Scott, the CEO and co-founder of the faith-based production company Pure Flix, will be turning the story of the rescue of the Thailand kids soccer team into a film. He previously produced the God's Not Dead films.

  • Scott lives part-time in Thailand and has already begun talks with some of the families, but not the boys because they remain hospitalized.

  • He claims it will not be a Christian film but an inspirational one.

Since Scarlett Johansson wants an Oscar so bad, maybe they can hire her as the hero coach.

Paulina, Belinda and Marta Sánchez give joint concert, Paulina messes up & causes drama

Mexican pop singers Paulina Rubio and Belinda, and Spanish Marta Sánchez joined forces to participate in Idolos 2.0, a concert that took place this weekend in the Palacio de los Deportes arena in Mexico DF.

However, you can't have these three artists together and be free of issues/drama: first, Paulina made headlines for her awkward beginning, where it wasn't clear if she didn't know they lyrics of her song, if she couldn't follow the music or if she couldn't find the right tone to start.

Allegedly, La Chica Dorada had been vacationing in Morocco before the concert and had previously stated that she'd have no time to rehearse. Mess. After she sang her 8-song set, she never came back on stage.

Meanwhile, author of the Spanish National Anthem Marta Sánchez sang two of her classic hits, and then Belinda, of Sapito fame, came on stage to sing her songs. To close the concert, Marta and Belinda sang together Belinda's hit "Luz sin gravedad."

At the press conference before the concert, Marta said that she loves Belinda and that they were going to sing together, but they weren't going to perform with Paulina because they hadn't talked to her, as she "does what she wants to" and "she hadn't arrived yet." Belinda interjected to say "she should have been here but she isn't yet."

Meanwhile, Belinda made OP think of her 12-year-old self when she brought Jay de la Cueva from Moderatto on stage to sing "Muriendo lento."

Starring Kiernan Shipka in the title role with Lucy Davis and Miranda Otto as Aunts Hilda and Zelda, Chance Perdomo as Cousin Ambrose, Ross Lynch as Harvey, Jaz Sinclair as Rosalind Walker and others.

It's still not known when the ten episode Netflix show will premiere (I thought some time in October but don't quote me). They don't have a SDCC panel scheduled though there will be bags given out.

Reminder that it's still the same creative team that brought you Riverdale. It only remains to be seen how much zanier they'll be without traditional network constraints.

It is being described by the studio as an “exploration of a man disregarded by society [that] is not only a gritty character study, but also a broader cautionary tale". This is unrelated to the Jared Leto Joker film that was also announced recently.

Papa John's CEO caught being racist again

John Schnatter -- the founder and face of Papa Johns (and its former CEO) and racist goblin -- got caught being a racist again during a conference call back in May.

The call between PJ's executives and a marketing agency was a role-playing exercise designed for Schnatter to prevent another PR disaster for the company. It went as well as expected. Schantter was asked how he would deal with racist groups online and responded by stating that "Colonel Sanders called blacks [the n-word]" and when he lived in Indiana as a child he saw people drag blacks from trucks until they died. Soon after the call ended, the marketing agency terminated its contract with PJ.

Back in January, Schnatter stepped down as CEO after slamming the NFL protests, claiming that lack of leadership was hurting sales. His comments caused an immediate 11% drop in the companies stock (which has now grown to 25%). The companies stock has already dropped another 4% after this story was released.
