Depeche Mode learn how to work British festivals at their first Isle Of Wight show

-Despite their 35-year+ history, Depeche Mode just don't play British festivals - they've never done Glastonbury or Reading
-As such the band had trouble working the crowd at the Isle of Wight festival
-Their performance started off with some new/slower songs, building up to the finale of more well-known songs
-People finally started waking up after they played 'Everything Counts'
-After playing 'Personal Jesus,' Dave Gahan yelled, “Well, wakey wakey!”

Stone Temple Pilots' guitarist Dean DeLeo accused of domestic violence

-Jenn DeLeo has filed for divorce, alleging domestic abuse and abusing drugs/alcohol while endangering the life of the couple's daughter
-The couple married in 2012 and had been dating since 2010
-Court documents found by TMZ show a 2012 incident where he took his baby daughter into the ocean while he was “completely inebriated”
-Jenn has also accused Dean of various physical assaults and strangulation attempts on her, abusing his son from a previous marriage, and threatening suicide should she leave him

  • Vanity Fair interviewed D'Arcy Carden, who currently stars as Janet on The Good Place and in a supporting role on HBO's Barry, about her long road to success in Hollywood.

  • D'Arcy went to NYC in her early 20's to get into acting. She was mainly cast in dramatic productions, but started doing comedy after seeing the improvised comedy show ASSSSCAT at the Upright Citizens Brigade Theater for the first time.

  • She performed at UCB in NYC for years before eventually moving to LA with her husband in search of more acting jobs. But as soon as she got to LA, her UCB friends Abbi Jacobson and Ilana Glazer brought her back to guest star on their show, Broad City.

  • Despite her small role on Broad City, D'Arcy was still looking for acting jobs, nannying, writing and performing at UCB in LA for a few years. She felt like she'd probably missed her chance to get a big TV role, but then she auditioned for The Good Place, and filmed the pilots for that and Barry within months of each other.

  • Loves the people she plays with at UCB and works with on The Good Place - Mike Schur has a policy of "no dicks", so it's a good working environment.

  • D'Arcy talks about all the people from UCB who have found success (ex: Adam Pally, Zach Woods, Aubrey Plaza) and how the philosophy of improv makes it easy to be happy for the success of your peers because you're all working toward the same goal, plus a rising tide lifts all boats.

Sunday night in Brooklyn, Florence + the Machine performed an intimate 200 person show on the banks of the East River. The show, which featured a whimsical stage surrounded by flowers and greenery, was attended by a few celebs including 3 out of 5 of Queer Eye's Fab 5 (including Jonathan Van Ness who she personally serenaded), Ashleigh Murray and Casey Cott of Riverdale, and Ben McKenzie and Morena Baccarin.

October's "Scream Comes Home" event stacking up to be the ultimate fan-party

The iconic Scream was a game-changer in the 90's when the genre was slagging, serving meta-teen horror with references to tropes in slasher movies. It was a financial and critical success, paving the way for more similar horror and even a spoof series. This Oct you have the chance to watch it again with an audience!

Woodsboro was a fictional town filmed in Santa Rosa, CA. The "Scream Comes Home" event is an overnight sleepover accompanying the screening at the real house (that sleeps 16, with 2 other houses on-grounds that sleep 16 also with food + alcohol) and a bus tour of other filming sites, including:

Paul Haggis Hires PI To Probe Publicist Who Accused Him of Sexual Assault

After being accused of rape and assault against multiple women, Oscar-winning director and former Scientologist Paul Haggis has apparently hired a private investigator to probe his first accuser, publicist Haleigh Breest. Haggis, who has filed his own lawsuit against Breest, has hired a former FBI agent to investigate her background, including whether she is financially responsible, hangs out with seedy characters, does drugs, or just if there is anything suspicious about her.

Haggis' attorney say he is doing nothing wrong or unusual and Breest did it first, while Breest's attorney claims Haggis is trying to harass, intimidate and silence her. For what it's worth, Roger Friedman claims to have proof the accusers- but not Breest- was hired by Scientology, which the women have denied (one of the anonymous accusers wrote a rebuttal for the Hollywood Reporter).

While I don't doubt Scientology would do this, hiring a private investigator to find out tawdry things about an accuser is not a good look.

Mahershala Ali and Viggo Mortensen's 'Green Book' Gets Nov 21st Release Date

  • Universal has given road-trip drama Green Book a release date of November 21st, which is squarely in award season territory. The film was directed by Peter Farrelly, and stars Viggo Mortensen and Mahershala Ali.

  • Plot summary: An Italian-American bouncer with a seventh-grade education (Mortensen) is hired to drive a world-class pianist (Ali) on a concert tour from Manhattan to the Deep South. They must rely on the “Negro Motorist Green Book” to guide them to the few establishments that were then safe for blacks. Confronted with racism, danger — as well as unexpected humanity and humor — they are forced to set aside differences to survive and thrive.

  • Steve Carell's drama Welcome to Marwen has been moved from that date to December 21st.

First Same-Sex Couple Scores Cover of ESPN's Body Issue

Soccer star Megan Rapinoe (team: Seattle Reign) and basketball star Sue Bird (team: Seattle Storm), who have been a couple for two years, are among this year's ESPN the Magazine Body Issue athletes and have received one of the coveted covers, as has figure skater Adam Rippon.

Rapinoe and Bird are the first same-sex couple to be featured in the magazine's much-hyped annual Body Issue, which marks its 10th anniversary this year.

"It’s pretty amazing to think about [being on the cover of the Body Issue], especially in the times we’re in. Just think of how far we’ve come, but also the current climate. Not only are we female athletes, but we’re dating as well. It’s kind of bad-ass," says Rapinoe.

Bird concurs: "Yeah, I think it’ll probably be even more bad-ass later. A year, five years, 10 years, 20 years, to look back and be like, ‘Oh, they were the first openly gay couple to be on the cover, to be in the issue.’”

Rippon, who came out in 2015, says “I couldn’t have done this [shoot] while I was in the closet. I think that, with my experience of coming out, I felt so liberated in so many ways.”

LA Galaxy’s Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Houston Astros star Dallas Keuchel, 63-year-old golfer Greg Norman, LA Dodgers’ Yasiel Puig, and Hall of Fame wide receiver Jerry Rice are also among the sixteen athletes who posed for the issue, which hits newsstands this Friday, June 29th.

  • Actor Katherine Heigl and her husband, Josh Kelley, stopped by a Buffalo, NY cemetery to visit the graves of her grandparents and brother Jason.
  • Heigl took some photos at the cemetery, which she then posted to Instagram. Some followers found some of the photos, -- now deleted -- to be "disrespectful." One of Heigl's captions said: "I also managed to get in a little gossip with the girls."







  • Katherine's husband shared an Insta video, too, where he pretended to walk with a ghost. The caption read: "Visiting our loved ones today and I ran into an old friend."
  • Heigl issued an apology, which included: "It’s kind of a heavy thing to go and visit my loved ones’ graves and I decided to try to find some moments of levity and humor and didn’t realize how inappropriate I was being. So I deeply apologize and I thank you guys for understanding that sometimes I don’t think things through clearly enough. Heather Locklear was hospitalized for an overdose just hours after being released from jail for two misdemeanor counts of battery on emergency personnel when she kicked a police officer, as well as a EMT worker on Sunday night. An unknown caller phoned the police to report the actress had overdosed in her home.

Janet mentions being impacted by young people and their idealism for social change. I mean, she has sung about racism, #domestic abuse, children... what else is there to sing about in the next #20 years? Does the #youth of gen z in the crowd even know who she is?

How ONTD Drove Zach Woods Off The Internet + Video & Photoshoot

  • Zach Woods, the actor and improviser who plays Jared on Silicon Valley (and formerly played Gabe on The Office), granted a rare and absolutely delightful interview to GQ for its June comedy issue, which I encourage you to read in its entirety. The interviewer is just as charmed by him as I am watching him do improv.

  • In the interview, he talks about being uncomfortable doing interviews, the reasons why he's offered the parts that he's offered, and the nature of attraction (but not in a douchey way).

  • A notable part of the interview is about why he doesn't have social media, and why he doesn't read about himself on the internet anymore:

He still remembers, verbatim, one of the first online comments he read about himself, before he self-excluded from the Internet: "His face looks like a combination of sadness and food poisoning."

Terry Crews and Amanda Ngyuen, founder of RISE NOW and Nobel Peace Prize nominee, gave testimony today about sexual assault survivor's bill of rights. The Survivor's Bill of Rights would create special protections for sexual assault survivors, including not charging survivors for an examination, preserving rape kits for 20 years or the maximum applicable statute of limitations, and providing survivors with written notification before a rape kit is disposed of.

First on-set look at Shakespearean adaptation 'The King' starring Timothée Chalamet

The first on-set/on-location photos of the upcoming movie 'The King', based off Shakespeare's Henry IV and V, were released online via Timothée Chalamet's crazy fanboys and fangirls. Looks like filming's taking place up in Lincoln, UK or roundabouts.

Chalamet plays the titular character. Also starring in this all-white cast are Joel Edgerton (who also wrote this), Robert Pattinson, Ben Mendelsohn, Sean Harris, and Lily-Rose Depp. Here's a synopsis:

Chalamet stars as the young, disgraced Prince Hal, who inherits the crown and must learn what it means to be a king, guided by his one true friend, Falstaff (Edgerton).
