M•A•C's collaboration with the late singer's estate will be released on June 20 and June 21. It consists of an eyeshadow palette, lip gloss, bronzer and lipsticks. Each product has a name referring to her songs, or references to her life. A video was made in tribute to the artist featuring Timbaland, Missy Elliot and dancers who create looks as an homage to some of the singer's iconic videos. Eminem drawing criticism for using realistic gunshot sounds during Bonnaroo performance

During a performance of "Kill You" at Bonnaroo, a series of realistic gunshot sounds played. According to Twitter, many in the crowd screamed and ducked.



Though Eminem has used these sound effects as an outro in the past, the rise in mass shootings in recent years (including at the Route 91 music festival in Las Vegas last year) has made some fans more sensitive to the choice.

Social media star @AndreaRussett drew attention to the issue on Twitter in a since-deleted series of tweets, saying "I hate to be the one to say it, but being someone who suffers from very mild PTSD, it was EXTREMELY irresponsible and distasteful to end songs w the shot gun sound effect. I have grown up loving eminem and his music but i was extremely triggered to the point of tears. To hear a gun shot sound effect and see the entire crowd drop to the floor out of instinct is not funny, cute, or amusing. this is the sad reality that we are living. this is not funny or even something to be joked about."

Carousel made me ugly cry because I have issues. It was my first musical, which I saw at Coeur d'Alene Summer Theatre starring Cheyenne Jackson as Billy Bigelow and I was never the same. I flew my mom into NYC to see it opening week, Renee Fleming is a goddess, Justin Peck is wonderful, sorry about the domestic abuse, etc.

In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Chris Rock said he doesn’t want the former president and first lady making their money on Netflix:

“I don’t want to live in a world where President Obama is worried about his Rotten Tomatoes score. I want him above that at all times.”

“Make your money, but I don’t want [him] to be involved with that.”

Lil Tay disappears after smoking controversy

All of Lil Tay's posts have disappeared from Instagram and YouTube following the leak of a video the 9 year old flexer smoking from a hookah.



Diomi Cordero, a spokesperson for Lil Tay's family told Buzzfeed that the social media wipe was due to rebranding.

Her brother confirmed this through his Twitter account.

Netflix's gay coming-of-age film "Alex Strangelove" is released

- Daniel Doheny stars as a sexually confused high school senior in the comedy “Alex Strangelove,” currently streaming on Netflix.
- Writer-director Craig Johnson was at Mika concert when he thought of the concept for the film.
- Johnson says the film is his teens and his 20s crammed into one kid's senior year of high school. He wanted to showcase how for some teens it's hard to talk about sex.

The cast of Felicity reunite for the shows 20th anniversary

-The show is celebrating 20 years anniversary and they got the entire cast together

-JJ always planned that the characters would graduate college in by the end of the series thus he chose the 17th episode and then the network went back and gave them 5 more episodes to wrap the series up.

-Foley was originally cast as Ben, but switched to Noel when Scott Speedman came in to read.

-Due to a credits mishap, Amy Jo Johnson was credited as singing the series theme song for the first 2 seasons when infact she did not.

-No one knows what is in the Megan's box that was left as a mystery by the time the end of the season came.

-Looking back, Keri isnt a fan of the her infamous haircut that lead to massive changes in contracts for females on TheWB (the network would have to approve any major changes in hair) and what was once deemed as the reason that lead to the show being canceled. Scott Speedman was not a fan of the cut. Keri thinks it is what the character needed though. It all came about because she saw a little boys wig and tried it on as a joke and the rest is hairstory.

-They are open to a revival.

This week horror author Laird Barron discusses the genres of horror, crime, and noir; and sadly, horror author Brian Keene has been involved in an accident which has resulted in 2nd and 3rd degree burns on his arms and 1st degree burns on his face.



Laird Barron, author of books such as The Croning just shared his “guide to horror, crime, and noir” at crimereads.com. Barron recently published a crime/noir novel called Blood Standard, leaving his fans wondering if he would be leaving the horror genre. In this article, he describes how the three genres “are all rooms in a sprawling mansion,” noting that while these genres have fundamental differences they “grapple with the darkness within us all.” The article is a worthwhile read, especially if you’re a fan of Barron’s work.


Following a recent accident that has left him covered in 2nd, 3rd, and 1st degree burns, the horror community has quickly come together to raise over $40,000 to help Brian Keene pay for his medical care. Keene has written over 50 horror novels and has won many awards for his writing. He also devotes time to Scares that Care, which raises money to help children fighting diseases and illnesses. Success in the horror book industry does not translate to riches, however, so the horror community has prepared a GoFundMe to help Keene pay his medical bills. For the few of us who enjoyed Tusk... here's some updates on Kevin Smith's Moose Jaws:


Even if you're NOT a fan of Tusk, you could read the article anyway since the author clearly didn't enjoy the movie.Moose Jaws would round out Smith's True North trilogy (previous films in the trilogy were Tusk and Yoga Hosers). Smith was supposed to begin filming Moose Jaws back in 2016 but that never happened. But apparently now he has money to get it done. Author of the article asks the pertinent question: But does anyone even want to see this?

AND FINALLY...
What film is Rotten Tomatoes calling the #1 horror film of the year so far?
None other than the UFO cult sci-fi horror, The Endless! In the podcast section of this post, we shared an interview with The Endless filmmakers Justin Benson and Aaron Moorhead. Here, Justin shares the news via Twitter. BTW, the film comes highly recommended by your dear OP :)

Let's celebrate the end of Sense8 by reliving some of it's best moments! Netflix might think the series is an expensive mess but that's just rational thinking and as Sense8 viewers well know, the true value of some things is immaterial and can only be felt. The series isn't subtle about getting that message across but it's very earnestness made the emphasis on love, empathy, truth, self-acceptance, hope, beauty, connectivity and solidarity that much more profound. I've put together a list of 15 of the imo most meaningful scenes of the series in chronological order, arm yourselves with tissues and prepare to ugly cry after the cut:

1. S01E05 Amanita and Nomi reflect on life's unpredictability: "Impossibility is a kiss away from reality."


2. S01E07 "What if something wonderful happens?" Capheus visits Riley on her way back to Iceland.


3. S01E09 "The real violence" scene when Nomi visits Lito at the museum (if you only watch one thing off this list, make it be this).


4. S01E09 "Death doesn't let you say good-bye." Capheus and Riley mourn for their lost loved ones.


5. S01E11 “This is what life is.” Sun shows Kala how to keep fighting.


6. S02E01 The "I hate that word" montage (which I was only able to find in Portuguese, oh well)


7. S02E01 "Is this art?" Hernando's speech against prejudice and for seeing beauty and love.


8. S02E01 Lito and his mother after he was outed. "You have nothing to apologize for."


9. S02E02 Lito and Capheus fielding interview questions in the "Who am I?" montage.


10. S02E04 "A heart as soft as a baby bird," and other words of wisdom from Min-Jung to Sun.


11. S02E06 Lito's speech at Sao Paolo pride (unfortunately cut a bit short by the background music).


12. S02E07 "I have no room in my heart for hate." The cluster visits Sun and offer her their unconditional support.

14. S02E12 "I know your kind." Dani taking no shit from Whispers and illustrating why the lives of he and his small-minded ilk are ultimately meaningless.


15. S02E12 Amanita's wedding vow to Nomi: "I trust this feeling more than I have trusted anything in my life."



Besides emotional catharsis, Sense8 excels at physical action, such as the all-around amazing to watch following 15 scenes featuring singing, fighting, fucking, birthing and dressing up as tourists (NSFW obviously):

Familiar racers have been spotted filming the 31st season of TAR, confirming reports of a massive CBS cross-over season featuring contestants from Big Brother, Survivor, and TAR. Blonde icons Janelle Pierzina (BB6, BB All-Stars, and BB14) and Britney Haynes (BB12 and BB14) were photographed by Race chasers (that's a thing, aparently) with Victor Arroyo (BB16). Bob the Drag Queen Drags Azealia Banks In a Rap Called "Dear Ms. Banks"

In the wake of the recent, ongoing homophobic tirades from Azealia Banks and her feuds with various drag queens - including Rupaul and Monét X Change - RuPaul's Drag Race S8 winner Bob the Drag Queen made a video addressing the controversy.

In the video, Bob performs a rap and reads Azealia for her homophobia, misogyny, failed career, the fact that her music and fashion are stolen from ball culture, and her constant pandering to Trump and white Republicans. It features receipts, great lines such as "you broke bitch!! next window, next teller, Banks"&"You're not a color on the flag, you're a motherfucking stain."

Is IHOP really changing it's name?

As previously reported on ONTD on June 11 IHOP will change their name to IHOB. (the "b" will be for burgers)

At least one location has been seen changing signs.

However a reporter did see the following at one location;
Literal signage by the cash register, with the same "IHOb" logo that the chain shared on social media during the week, followed by the words "Burgers Burgers Burgers."
....
Right next to this sign was another with the classic IHOP logo, declaring "Pancakes Pancakes Pancakes." So this change may not be as dramatic as some have feared.


According to a comment at an unauthorized source it's just a one month promotion.

David Gordon Green Explains Why Halloween (2018) Ignores Previous Sequels

Halloween (2018) director David Gordon Green explains why this new installment is a direct sequel to the original and retcons the previous sequels.

- He enjoyed all the sequels, but felt that they explained too much about Michael’s backstory. Feels that the sibling twist in Halloween 2 (1981) took away from the “Boogeyman” angle that the original movie had.
- To him, the original movie was terrifying because of its simplicity in the sense that Michael had no motive.
- He wants this movie to follow the original one in that horrifying events don’t always have explanations.

(OP’s note: John Carpenter is involved with this movie as the executive producer and composer. Carpenter admitted that he was intoxicated while coming up with the idea that Laurie and Michael were brother and sister in Halloween 2 (1981). He basically regrets coming up with that storyline, so I think that’s another reason why this movie is erasing it.)
