This month, fans of speculative fiction (an umreblla term for narrative fiction with supernatural or futuristic elements, which includes science fiction, horror, fantasy, dyopstian, etc, or a blend of those genres) have quite a bit to look forward to. I've chosen nine books to highlight in the post. I excluded books in series or trilogies (for example, science fiction writer Yoon Ha Lee's
Revenant Gun, the final book in his Machineries of Empire trilogy, is out this month) and I also didn't include books from my previous book posts, such as the dystopian novel
The Book of M by Peng Shepherd.
