Azealia Banks recalls being starved in the studio by Kanye West & Rihanna

Azealia Banks responded to Kim Kardashian's riculous Rhymefest tweet today and took the opportunity to call out Kanye and Rihanna for leaving her to starve while working for them in the studio.

She tweets, "But it’s dedicated to Kanye’s mom... i would assume kanye would be the one sustaining the foundation. Not everyone can afford to pay loads of $ sneakers. I was at that session and kanye had a private Chef cooking food for only him. Kanye had niggas in the studio hungry and broke." She continues, "Literally the most obnoxious thing to watch kanye eat a plate of cantaloupe wrapped in prosciutto off Versace plates and 24k cutlery while not offering anyone in the room a single snack."



Azealia also claims that Rihanna pulled a similar stunt when she went to Rih's house to work on music.

In a now deleted tweet, Banks wrote, "The oher Person who starved me out in the sudio was rihanna. I came to her house in Malibu at 8pm once and she stayed upstairs and partied while I wrote. the whole time her team bought us two beers, a can of coke and a jar of peanuts. There were six of us and no chairs either"

Ben met Lindsay, an SNL producer, when he hosted the show in 2013. They began an affair waited until after Ben's divorce to begin a relationship. At the time, Jennifer Garner had just given birth to their third child.

In case you were worried that his career might suffer, don't worry: He is filming two new prestige projects and is apparently still set to star in The Batman and Justice League II.

The top-class journalists at The Sun realized this when they two stopped following each other on social media recently. Also, this from an 'insider':

“Emma and Chord kept quiet about their relationship at first but they really hit it off. They spent a lot of time together in Los Angeles and were photographed quite a bit just a couple of months ago. But things just haven’t worked out between them and they are both now single again.”

Hello loves,

You see my last Luis Miguel post had a good reception and it came at absurd times because I screwed up the post the first time, but NOT NOW!

Here are the chismes facts we learned from episode 6 of Luis Miguel: La Serie



#1. Marcela was a designer for TIMBIRICHE!
A subplot over the past couple of episodes has revolved around Luis Miguel's mom, Marcela, designing costumes for an up and coming child group. On this episode, as Luisito Rey forced her to leave her successful work, it was revealed that the group was Timbiriche. Sigh, if only she had stayed, we would've been saved from stuff like this

#2. Luisito Rey's exposure was the work of Hugo Lopez
Hugo Lopez continues to be the hero on Luis Miguel, as he orchestrates an audit of Luisito Rey. We all hope it will expose the money he's been stealing from Luis Miguel and that we as the audience, get some justice for all the hate we've been brewing for Luisito Rey.

#3. Micky was forced to do military training for La Incondicional
So, Micky wanted to shoot La Incondicional to be a Mexican Top Gun. This presented some resistance from the label because it'd cost way too much money but Micky was determined. The officials at the Mexico's Heroic Military School demanded he went through a basic week of training. On the show, Micky trains with Cadete Tello, who later inspires him to be more responsible and apologize to Hugo Lopez but he is sadly, not real (citation needed).

#4. The reason we never knew about Fabiola could be because Micky apologized to her
Nobody is talking about Fabiola this week smh
Last week, talks about Fabiola were about whether or not she was a real person and if Luis Miguel really got into a car accident involving a fan, and mostly why, if it did happen, we never knew about it until now.
Well this week, Micky goes to Fabiola and her family and apologizes, bringing gifts and showering her with love so they don't go to the press with the chisme. This doesn't clarify whether or not Fabiola really existed but the show is offering a reason why we wouldn't have known if it did.

#5. Luisito Rey drugged up Luis Miguel as a kid
Luis Miguel was only 12 when his father was running him dry, filming a movie and doing multiple shows a week. To keep the kid from being exhausted, Luisito Rey bribed a doctor to drug Luis Miguel. In a lot of ways, this confirms the speculation from years of Chisme shows that says Luisito Rey was responsible for inducing Micky into drugs.

Maybe the title of this is clickbaity because I truly want to make a "Parallels between Geri and Gaga" post a la my Hurts & Lana Del Rey post. I can't help but notice the fact that with some of these Gaga #moments, Geri Halliwell aka Geri Horner aka Ginger Spice of the best-selling girl group the Spice Girls did already years ago (and liddos like to act brand new). Queen of Pop Madonna can be the true person attributed for these women to thrive, so no this is not necessarily an exposé.

But here's a #herstory lesson of the personal and creative parallels between these pop cultural icons.


Open Wide

At the 2000 Brit Awards, Geri did the grand entrance of appearing out of a pair of female legs for the flirty sex anthem "Bag It Up". Gaga had a similar performance style appearing out of a turkey inflatable body for the "Born This Way" number on the BTWB in 2013. What other pop stars have symbolically been rebirthed like this? Geri, an innovator.





Geri (1999)&Five Foot Two (2016)


I mean who loves a good documentary after a tumultuous pop phenomenon career? Each doc was filled with epiphanies by its subjects dealing with relationships and fame, topped with a moment where they were recorded in their bikini for a more #open talk.
Geri was opening up about dealing with the loss of her father (that happened several years prior) after not deeply processing it. Gaga was beginning her #maudlin campaign about her father's sister Joanne, whom she mourns vicariously through her father's pain while her grandmother was lowkey cringing at ha.







Idol to the Rescue

Going off with the Geri doc, she was at a rough point when she left the Spice Girls and became insecure about her abilities as an informally trained artist. Who better to run to than your idol growing up? Halliwell was very open about being a Wham/George Michael fan girl, even writing herself a love letter to him as a tween. The two finally met one day and became friends, where Michael offered her a place to stay after her departure in 1999. Since his death, Geri expressed how he was like an 'angel' to her in times of need.

Geri on George Michael: "I’d been part of a band and he literally picked up the phone and said come and live with me. He actually said, ‘come and live with me for the weekend’ and I stayed for about three months and then followed him everywhere... I was so broken and so sad and he scooped me up."

Gaga witnessed the same helping hand when she was going through ARTPOP turmoil where she admitted it was a time she was close to quitting music.

In her 2015 Billboard interview where she was quite on her pretentious musician high horse, she admitted how much Tony Bennett and Elton John were there for her: "Tony has taught me a lot of things, Elton has taught me a lot of things... I'm very lucky when a lot of people turned their back on me and some of the modern universe turned their back on me, it was the classics that were there. They were there for me in friendship, professionally... 'we've been here before and we are here to tell you not to fuck this up'."



Lady Liberty 🗽

Both artists have also been very forward with integrating political imagery into their fashion, including their interpretations of the Statue of Liberty in tour costuming.

Marilyn Moment 💋




It's another common thread that Marilyn Monroe were big inspirations to these women (and at this rate, who isn't). Both had a flirtatious encounter with a political leader when Geri planted a big one on Prince Charles' cheek during the Spice Girl's visit with the royals. She also attempted a more obvious Marilyn moment singing 'Happy Birthday' to him for his 50th.

Gaga was invited to perform for a Bill Clinton special in 2011 and made a cheeky move by dubbing "Bad Romance" with "Bill Romance". She said right on stage that she was having a Marilyn moment, and made a risque outro to her performance by playing "Government Hooker" which seemed to went pass the minds of regular people, but Gaga fans were in on the joke (He Stefani Lewinsky'd all on mah gowwwn).






"I Am Every Label"


When people try to put you in a box, you find ways to get out of them. Geri dealt with this theme in her debut "Look At Me" from the album Schizophonic when she depicted characters on how women are perceived to be.

During the ARTPOP era where she felt the same thing, Gaga stated: "The statement is that I’m not one icon. I’m every icon. I’m an icon that is made out of all the colors on the palette at every time. I have no restrictions. No restrictions."

They also embodied these figures to show they are not one dimensional acts.



"I play these four characters - what women are. I play a virgin, a vamp, a nun, and I think women have to take on so many roles in life. I think we're all of them and none of them."




Schizophonic & ARTPOP





We love album titles that coin unoriginal portmanteaus as concepts! While Schizophonic is a little more digestable to understand, ARTPOP is a loose concept of 'putting art back on the soup can' or something like that.



Geri spoke to Rosie about the lead single: "The way we get obsessed with ourselves is bullcrap. We should take each other not on face value but on who you are as a human being. It's talking about labels'you're beautiful''you're fat''you're thing''you're gorgeous''you're gay''you're black'. I just find that you ought to see pass that as human beings."

This almost sound like lyrics to a particular song... Hmmmmm.


"Mi Chico Latino"&"Alejandro"

A Latin-pop tinged song where the music video features a homoerotic dance orgy number by a group of men in their boxer briefs? Geri BEEN doing that already. Get a little #herstory lesson here little monsters!

Anywho, people have accredited Madonna's "La Isla Bonita" to inspiring these pop moments.







So, what's the tea? Geri has been pro-gay and girl power before the turn of the millennium when it was cool.

Stewart Lupton, Jonathan Fire*Eater Vocalist, Dead at 43

Stewart Lupton, vocalist for Jonathan Fire*Eater has passed away at the age of 43 years old. An Instagram post reposted by his cousin, Sarah Lupton, confirmed his passing. The group did not achieve worldwide fame, but they once opened for Pulp and Blur on tours. They are one of the most cited influences of bands like The Strokes, The Yeah Yeah Yeahs and Interpol. In the late 90s there was a record deal bidding war to sign the group, but tensions in the band led to a breakup. Three members of Jonathan Fire*Eater - Walter Martin, Paul Maroon and Matt Barrick went on to form the critically acclaimed band, The Walkmen. After leaving Jonathan Fire*Eater, Lupton moved back to Washington, D.C. to study poetry.

No official cause of death has been released.

Khloe and Tristan are still trying to make it work after the cheating scandal that came out two days before she gave birth to bb, True. Khloe finds it hard to trust Tristan when he goes out of town, giving him a short leash and wanting him to prove he's a good guy. The "neediness" has caused a little bit of conflict lately.

Khloe is more focused on being a mom to True, but still has time to rant against people who give her advice on her man-troubles.




The Kardashian kept ranting about people giving her advice when they're probably right.




No word on anything, at least directly, from Khloe on Kimye's non-profit debacle yet.

• Over the Memorial Day weekend, Taylor Swift hit the stage at BBC's Biggest Weekend and performed for a crowd of 26,000 in Swansea.

• After performing a six-song set in 80% humidity, a sweaty Swift, had a quick backstage interview with BBC radio deejay Greg James, her first in years. Towards the end of the interview, James jokingly told TSwift: “I think you need to have a shower now,” as he laughed.

• Swift agreed and responded saying: “I agree. And I’m not offended that you said that. There’s a lot going on and none of it’s good here.”

• While Taylor was not offended by the comment, like at all, many on Twitter were on her behalf:

#TheTerror breakout Adam Nagaitis joins the @HBO miniseries 'Chernobyl'

  • Adam Nagaitis, who played the villain Cornelius Hickey on AMC's The Terror, has joined the cast of the upcoming HBO series, Chernobyl.

  • Also appearing in the ensemble cast is Jared Harris, who starred alongside Nagaitis on The Terror.

  • Other cast members include Jessie Buckley, Adrian Rawlins, Con O’Neill, Stellan Skarsgard and Emily Watson.

  • The series writer will be Craig Mazin (The Hangover Part II & III) and Johan Renck directing.

  • Chernobyl will dramatize the nuclear power plant explosion, following "the brave men and women who sacrificed to save Europe from unimaginable disaster."

As everyone knows by now, ABC cancelled Roseanne earlier today in a surprise move after Roseanne Barr's racists tweets. Roseanne was the #1 show on TV this past season, so the decision must not have been easy for ABC president Channing Dungey.
