Zayn to debut new single "Entertainer" and music video tomorrow

A little over a month after releasing the Khaled Rohaim/MakeYouKnowLove-produced "Let Me," Zayn is back with yet another new single. Tomorrow (Wednesday, May 23) will mark the debut of "Entertainer," along with what looks like the latest chapter of the story threaded through his last two music videos.



In February, Zayn shared that his long-anticipated sophomore album was in the offing, but that its release would not reflect "[the] usual way of putting out an album." It seems only time will tell what that actually means, but until then Zane Lowe will premiere "Entertainer" at 9am in LA, 12pm in NYC and 5pm in London tomorrow onBeats1.

Caitlyn Jenner opens up about her buyer's remorse re Trump, her work as a trans rights activist.

Here, Caitlyn Jenner takes a well-deserved break from coddling her fellow Republicans to give us some insight into her life and values. Journalist (and trans woman) Diana Tourjée walks us through Caitlyn's tumultuous journey to where she is today and where she plans to go next.

Spoiler alert: her politics remain terrible.

Highlights include:

  • Caitlyn is more than just her political affiliation (staunchly Republican), privilege, and voting record (Trump).

  • Caitlyn is also an activist enacting change from within the ranks of the Republican party, as well as an enduring sports legend whose feats extend beyond mere athletics: "one of our greatest national icons of male identity was revealed to be a hoax by a transgender [sic] woman."

  • Caitlyn shrugs off common criticisms regarding her relative privilege as a trans woman (that she's wealthy, white, and able to readily access medical interventions) because she's worked hard to get where she is.

  • Don't worry, she's not going to vote for Trump in the next election, as Trump has been the worst president(regarding LGBT issues) ever.

  • She's (politically) disappointed and wants Trump to know that she's (politically) disappointed.

  • Caitlyn would really rather politicians just, yknow, leave the LGBT community alone and let them do their thing.

  • She is, however, hopeful that someone might come along someday that's at least a bit better than the mess currently inhabiting the White House.

  • That being said, don't expect Caitlyn to support the Democrats next election: when asked if she would vote for a Democrat, she said "I don't know who in the Democratic Party. I would look at it. I don't vote parties. I vote the person."

She also shared details about her life as a closeted trans woman prior to publicly transitioning:


  • Caitlyn was severely depressed in the 1980s as a result of her experiences with gender dysphoria; this led to her beginning to transition in secret.

  • This transitioning included surgery on her nose, the removal of her beard via electrolysis, and starting hormone therapy.

  • Caitlyn told herself that she would complete her transition by the time she turned 40 (1989); however, when she turned thirty nine she couldn't follow through and postponed transitioning.

  • Caitlyn had breasts when she first met Kris Kardashian and got liposuction after Kendall was born so that she could go swimming with her kid.

  • Kris booked the liposuction appointment.

Michael B. Jordan to Co-Produce and Voice Act in New Rooster Teeth Animated Series

-Michael B. Jordan, a self proclaimed anime fan, will join Rooster Teeth's newest anime series gen:LOCK.

-gen:LOCK is "a 3D animated series set on Earth while its last free society is on the losing side of a global war. A diverse team of young pilots is recruited to control the net generation of mecha, so-called giant, weaponized robot bodies. These recruits find that their newfound abilities come at no small cost".

-Jordan will voice the main protagonist Julian Chase, a former fighter pilot who becomes the first candidate for the program. He will also co-produce with Rooster Teeth with his production company Outlier Productions.

-Started in 2003, Rooster Teeth is an Austin-based animation studio and content hub. The show will be exclusive to Rooster Teeth's online streaming service.

Philip Roth, Towering Novelist Who Explored Lust, Jewish Life, and America, Dies at 85

According to fellow writer and friend Judith Thurman, Philip Roth (author of American Pastoral, The Human Stain, I Married a Communist, Everyman, and many more) died of congestive heart failure on Tuesday night at a hospital in Manhattan. He was 85.

The New York Times calls him "the last of the great white males," who explored what it meant to be a Jewish-American man and "was tireless in his exploration of male sexuality." For example, he wrote about a teenager having sex with both his baseball mitt and the family dinner as well as a professor who transforms into a super-sensitive 155-pound breast.

He won two National Book Awards, two National Book Critics Circle awards, three PEN/Faulkner Awards, a Pulitzer Prize, and the Man Booker International Prize.

Roth once said of his work: “Updike and Bellow hold their flashlights out into the world, reveal the world as it is now. I dig a hole and shine my flashlight into the hole.”

First Look: Tyler Hoechlin and Kate Bosworth in The Domestics and more

• Last September it was announced that that MGM was relaunching Orion Pictures as a stand-alone distributor while John Hegeman serves as president.

• The company plans to launch with “The Domestics” on June 28 in theaters. The film will then be available by video on demand services the following day.

• Directed by Mike P. Nelson, Domestics is set in a “post-apocalyptic world inhabited by murderous gangs divided into deadly factions as Bosworth and Hoechlin’s characters race desperately across the lawless countryside in search of safety.” The film stars Kate Bosworth and Tyler Hoechlin while the screenplay was written by Nelson as well.

• The film will also star Sonoya Mizuno, Dana Gourrier, Lance Reddick, David Dastmalchian & Thomas Francis Murphy.

• In other TyHo news, over the weekend CW and Arrow flop Stephen Amell was speaking to a panel at the Motor City Comic Con, and was asked which Arrowverse character he’d like to see crossover on his dying show. “Superman. I thought that Tyler did a great job, and I had an opportunity to fangirl over [Smallville star] Tom Welling. I would love for Oliver and Clark to eventually meet. I think that that would be incredible.”

A fan in a since deleted tweet asked Asia if Ava Duvernay responded to her Cannes Speech, Asia replied "no response"
Ava offered a gracious response to Asia's accusations.

It's been three years since Pop Royalty Róisín Murphy dropped two albums 'Hairless Toys' and 'Take Her Up to Monto' back to back in a span of a year. 2018 sees the release of a 4×12″ series project with Maurice Fulton. A new 12″ will debut every month from May through August starting with 'All My Dreams' / 'Innocence'– out now. This week Róisín shared a music video for one of the songs 'All My Dreams' which she directed herself. Enjoy.

Jill Marie Jones was on The Breakfast Club and right out the gate the hosts asked her about a Girlfriends movie. Apparently, CBS and Paramount own the rights and they don't like nice things, unfortunately it is up to them if we get a movie or not.

Girlfriends was on WB and then CW, it starred Tracee Ellis Ross, Golden Brooks, Persia White, and Jill Marie Jones and ......... Keesha Sharp (Jill Marie Jones' substandard replacement). It ran for 8 seasons, got cancelled as part of collateral damage between the writers strike and CW re-branding to the Clearly White network.

Damon Lindelof's Watchmen casts Regina King (as lead), Don Johnson and others

Damon Lindelof's Watchmen pilot for HBO has cast Regina King, Don Johnson, Tim Blake Nelson, Louis Gossett Jr, Adelaide Clemens, and Andrew Howard. Regina King will star as the lead.

Lindelof wrote in a letter to fans that the series will not be a retelling of the original story, but rather a new story set in the same universe in the present day (but is Doomsday Clock canon tho???)

The pilot will be written by Lindelof and directed by The Leftover's Nicole Kassell.

YAS @ Zion being second lead vocal, KING. I'm GAGGING @ A*stin not getting any solo parts, rightfully so - KICK HIM OUT

Woody Allen and Mia Farrow’s Son Moses Claims Mia Was Abusive and Woody Never Molested Dylan

In a detailed new personal essay, titled “A Son Speaks Out,” posted online Wednesday, Farrow says he ‘can no longer stay silent’ about accusations made by his sister and claims she was coerced into making them

In his post, Moses, now a family therapist and photographer, disputes details of Dylan’s account and claims Mia was physically and emotionally abusive towards him and her other children.

He writes:

“I’m a very private person and not at all interested in public attention. “But, given the incredibly inaccurate and misleading attacks on my father, Woody Allen, I feel that I can no longer stay silent as he continues to be condemned for a crime he did not commit.”


Even people who doubt Dylan’s claims of assault, often cling to Woody’s relationship with Soon-Yi as justification for their skepticism about him. The public attacks on Soon-Yi by complete strangers still stagger me, as does the general misinformation that so many people consider fact. She is not Woody’s daughter (adopted, step, or otherwise), nor is she developmentally challenged. (She got a master’s degree in special education from Columbia University!) And the claim that they started dating while she was underage is totally false.

In truth, Woody and Soon-Yi rarely even spoke during her childhood. It was my mother who first suggested, when Soon-Yi was 20, that Woody reach out and spend time with her. He agreed and started taking her to Knicks games. That’s how their romance started. Yes, it was unorthodox, uncomfortable, disruptive to our family and it hurt my mother terribly. But the relationship itself was not nearly as devastating to our family as my mother’s insistence on making this betrayal the center of all our lives from then on.

About Mia:

It was important to my mother to project to the world a picture of a happy blended household of both biological and adopted children, but this was far from the truth. I’m sure my mother had good intentions in adopting children with disabilities from the direst of circumstances, but the reality inside our walls was very different. It pains me to recall instances in which I witnessed siblings, some blind or physically disabled, dragged down a flight of stairs to be thrown into a bedroom or a closet, then having the door locked from the outside. She even shut my brother Thaddeus, paraplegic from polio, in an outdoor shed overnight as punishment for a minor transgression.

Soon-Yi was her most frequent scapegoat. My sister had an independent streak and, of all of us, was the least intimidated by Mia. When pushed, she would call our mother out on her behavior and ugly arguments would ensue. When Soon-Yi was young, Mia once threw a large porcelain centerpiece at her head. Luckily it missed, but the shattered pieces hit her legs. Years later, Mia beat her with a telephone receiver. Soon-Yi’s made it clear that her desire was simply to be left alone, which increasingly became the case. Even if her relationship with Woody was unconventional, it allowed her to escape. Others weren’t so lucky.

Facebook Safety Suggests Uploading Your "Intimate Images" So They Can Use Them To Stop Revenge Porn

– On Tuesday, mere months after being rocked by a privacy scandal involving the fall of western civilization, Facebook Safety is offering people a chance to upload their nudes to "specially-trained representatives" in an effort to stop revenge porn. This policy was announced in Australia last November (so like no wonder we haven't heard of it).
– In a Facebook post, Head of Security Antigone Davis explained how it would work:
- Anyone who fears an intimate image of them may be [shared] publicly can contact one of our partners to submit a form
- After submitting the form, the victim receives an email containing a secure, one-time upload link
- The victim can use the link to upload images they fear will be shared
- One of a handful of specifically trained members of our Community Operations Safety Team will review the report and create a unique fingerprint, or hash, that allows us to identify future uploads of the images without keeping copies of them on our servers
- Once we create these hashes, we notify the victim via email and delete the images from our servers — no later than seven days
- We store the hashes so any time someone tries to upload an image with the same fingerprint, we can block it from appearing on Facebook, Instagram or Messenger
– After the pilot program was announced in Australia, Facebook explained that the "specially-trained representative" would review the image before "hashing" it. But once the "hash" is stored, Facebook noted the company creates a "creates a human-unreadable, numerical fingerprint of it" without saving the actual photo. So basically employees can't view the nude (again?) but a digital fingerprint of its code is created that stops other people from uploading it as revenge porn.
– Facebook is partnering up safety organizations, abuse and and victim advocates such as the Australian Office of the eSafety Commssioner, the Cyber Civil Rights Initiative, the National Network to End Domestic Violence, the UK Revenge Porn Hotline, and YWCA Canada.

The end of the PlayStation 4's life cycle is here

The CEO of Sony's PlayStation division stated in an interview with the Wall Street Journal that the PlayStation 4 is entering the final phase of its life cycle. This upcoming November will be the console's 5th anniversary.

The console continues selling well, projected to move 16 million units this current fiscal year. CEO John Kodera says Sony will crouch down for the next three fiscals years (ending in March 2021), focusing more on user growth and engagement through PS Plus subscribers and other software, hoping that these services will be built up enough to outweigh declining hardware sales.

That said, lifecycles between consoles have been growing over time, with a 7-year gap between the release of the PS3 and PS4. And with the PS4 Pro only being a year and a half old, the console isn't going anywhere. So don't expect the PS5 announcement anytime soon. Kodera stated it's at leastanother three years away.

Sony has sold close to 80 million PS4 consoles worldwide.
