AKA This man doesn't know what the hell he's talking about-On why Archie got arrested: He was attracted to the way Hiram did business and he was looking for an answer, but he was tangling with a mob boss, and it felt like that there needed to be consequences to that.
-On what the genre for season 3 will be: There’s going to be kind of a new genre as well and we’re going to examine different kinds of pulp and noir. So if it feels like Riverdale is a place where people are getting killed all the time, maybe we find out that that’s not a coincidence. Maybe in Season 3, that’s actually part of a bigger pattern and a bigger unspoken history of Riverdale [...] But also, if the idea is that Hiram Lodge has taken possession of Riverdale and then Riverdale has become something like Sin City. So, like the movie and the comic book that Frank Miller wrote that were comprised of short stories that kind of came together to tell one big story about Sin City. So, one idea is that we might shift the focus around on different characters, some of our supporting players as well to kind of tell a tapestry of what life is like when Riverdale is on the verge of becoming Sin City. So keep an eye out on the supporting players like Cheryl and Toni and Kevin and Josie. They’re going to carry more story than they have in Season 1 and Season 2. (

-They avoided having beat up Jughead as the finale cliffhanger since they already did that with Fred last season, and RAS knows that the audience already called bullshit on the possibility of Fred dying (
and that noone really gave a fuck). So Jughead getting his shit kicked in was more about how much he was willing to sacrifice for the Serpents
-Jughead asking Betty to be his Serpent Queen is obviously more than him asking her to join his gang. Not quite marriage because that's for season five and when the ratings are really in the can, but obviously an emotional commitment of some sort
-On Hermione's possible storyline next season: We are going to see Hermione in a very tricky position. She’s in the mayor’s office, on very shifting ground with Hiram. I think we played them in lockstep a lot in Season 2. By the end of the season, Hermione was seeing Hiram’s true colors. So I think they will be engaged in a very careful power struggle — not to go to the nuclear place, but I think Hermione definitely has questions about Hiram and his agenda. Doing his agenda is one thing, but being his puppet is something else.
-The Kevin and Moose scene was the type of scene that would've usually been the first to be deleted when it comes to editing the episode down, but they kept it in as a seed that'll be explored more next season
-This fucker is still teasing the distant possibility of the Black Hood coming back and that nothing's ever over
-On their bonkers ass writing process: Without question, it's harder to fill 22 hours of television versus 13 hours of television. That's just harder to do, but we almost change genre week to week. "This week, it's a musical. This week, it's a horror movie. This week, it's The Godfather. This week, it's a kidnapping thriller. This week, it's the Blossom gothicness." The idea is keeping it fresh and telling a story for a big cast of characters.
-On Betty's
DARKNESS: For two seasons, we've been exploring Betty's darkness, and I think that will always be a part of her character. It felt like the black wig did take on a life of its own. With the darkness, either Betty was denying it or it was controlling her. There was a struggle to understand it. I think that will continue. Again, rather than do another season of Betty struggling with her darkness, she's dealing with it another way or turning away from it or controlling it.

Also, YET ANOTHER Choni scene got cut from the episode. Can't wait until next season when all the LGBT couples screentime get cut so we can know how much sex Bughead or Varchie are having
Madelaine Petsch: “I think as far as it's planned, [Cheryl] and Toni will be living with Nana Rose. When [the Riverdale writers] were like, ‘Toni's moving in with Cheryl,' I was like, ‘Yesss! I live!’”
Vanessa Morgan: “Well, the moment that was cut from the episode was me just pulling up to her house — on my motorcycle of course. And I went up to the door with my bag and I just smile at her. And then she’s like, ‘Welcome home!’ but we didn’t end up keeping it.”
RAS: “In the finale, we always write it big, but in the end we have to leave some [scenes] behind for timing reason [...] I will tell you though, and I will let all of the Choni fans know, that I’m the biggest Choni fan. If scenes didn’t make it into the final cut, they will be on the DVD and we will try to release them and I can promise you that there are big stories ahead for Choni.”
Vanessa Morgan: “That gives us season three to further explore relationship instead of getting super serious too soon and moving in together. You know, [something like] that could maybe lead to bad things for such a new couple. I really think we're saving all the Choni for season three, I really do — that’s what I've been told anyway. So I’m really looking forward to seeing season three.”
