It's time we stopped speculating about Shawn Mendes’ sexuality

• Mentions the Met Gala clip where Shawn Mendes see's Troye Sivan on the white carpet and hugs him. Points out that this inoffensive interaction between the two was quickly turned into a meme in a long running gag that the singer is closeted.

• The author admits to sharing a few giggles with friends over the Mendes memes and his particular favorite is the single tweet Mendes posted back in 2012 that simply read “Tea <3.”

• Says what's troublesome is that it's not straight people in middle America suggesting Mendes is gay or who are cracking these jokes, but that it's gay men.

• On the flipside, they point out we can look at this as a simple “harmless running joke among gay men, something to kiki about over Sunday brunch.”

• Points out the major problem with a lot of these memes is that it suggests Mendes is an effeminate gay and that he is not “masc,” and that's a problem.

• If someone straight was doing this, we'd argue that they were outing them and their sexuality wasn't anybody's business. Just because gay men have walked that road doesn't give them the right or a pass to do the same to others.

• Understands that humor is the way of the gays and is used as a coping mechanism, especially in Trump's America today. But that it shouldn't come at Shawn's expense because he hasn't asked for any of this.

• Mentions the singer's 2016 video where he addressed the rumors around him and points out that the memes still keep coming.

• Ends by saying that this only shows how cruel and problematic our own community can be and that we should strive to do better.

Marvel might be adding Kamala Khan to the MCU

During an interview with the BBC, Kevin Feige revealed that a film with the Muslim teen superhero Kamala Khan is "definitely sort of in the works".


"Captain Marvel's shooting right now with Brie Larson," Feige said.

"Ms. Marvel, which is another character in the comic books, the Muslim hero who is inspired by Captain Marvel, is definitely sort of in the works. We have plans for that once we've introduced Captain Marvel to the world."

Kamala, a Pakistani teenager from New Jersey, was first featured in her own series 'Ms. Marvel Volume 3' back in 2014. The series is written by G. Willow Wilson and is currently in its fourth volume. OP feels bad for not keeping up because it was awesome.

• After being in a five year slump, the freezer aisle is on the come up as millennials are embracing Banquet frozen dinners, Eggo waffles and Stouffer’s frozen dinners.

• Millennials are also starting to embrace more frozen vegetables and meals due to convenience and being far less expensive than going out for dinner.

• Nielsen estimates that annual U.S. sales for frozen foods are at about $53 billion.

• The increase is in part to a record high level of single Americans.

• Frozen foods have also stepped up their look, taste, and quality and in turn have benefited with stronger sales.

• “The average millennial doesn’t have time to make a full meal with fresh meat and produce. More and more they’re seeing these products as viable options,” says Dewey Warner, a market research analyst.

• After struggling for nearly four years, Kellogg Co. saw an in increase in their frozen Eggo waffles thanks in part to the hit Netflix series “Stranger Things.” A telekinetic girl by the name of Eleven (played by actress Millie Bobby Brown) happens to love Eggo waffles and it's her favorite food.

Embarrassment for the Royal Couple: Meghan Markle's Father Staged Paparazzi Photos

Meghan Markle's father, Thomas, has been stalked by paparazzi in the Mexican town where he lives ever since his daughter's engagement to Prince Harry was announced. He has been seen in published paparazzi photos being measured for a suit (presumably for the royal wedding), exercising, checking out a book called "Images of Britain" in a bookstore and searching for stories about his daughter in an internet cafe.

The Daily Mail revealed today that they have uncovered that Thomas in fact worked with a photographer to stage all of the photos. It is unknown if he was paid for them or did it in hopes of getting actual paparazzi to leave him alone.

The Palace was forced to make a statement today saying that they are offering Mr. Markle support and will “continue to make interventions with the media out of concern for his safety and security”.

Mr. Markle will travel to Britain this week to meet his soon-to-be son-in-law for the first time and walk his daughter down the aisle.

Fans of the show Supernatural have launched a petition to save the spin-off series Wayward Sisters, after news broke out on Friday that the CW wouldn’t move forward with the show. As of Sunday afternoon, the petition has already reached nearly 30,000 votes!



Amy Dumas, aka Lita of WWE, recently launched a new tv series called The UFO Sho. The UFO Sho will explore alien culture, and Amy says: “We aren’t ‘hunting’ UFOs. It’s more of a human interest show. The theme that links all the parties together.” The UFO Sho will be three episodes long, and airs on ASY TV (also available on Roku). Its first episode aired on May 9th.
