Indian actresses Deepika Padukone (starred in Om Shanti Om, Piku, Bajirao Mastani, Padmaavat) and Kangana Ranaut (starred in Queen, Simran, Tanu Weds Manu, Fashion) have arrived at the Cannes Film Festival and are walking the red carpet today. Deepika is there as an ambassador for L'Oreal India.

Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again! Universal Pictures has unleashed our first glimpse of the new film with a lyric video for the first song released from the soundtrack, the ABBA classic, "When I Kissed the Teacher". Lily James takes control of her college graduation as Young Donna, joined by besties Tanya and Rosie, launching into the ABBA song and giving her class a graduation they will never forget.

Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again arrives in theatres on July 20th and the soundtrack for the film arrives July 13th.

Watch John Cho's frantic hunt for missing daughter in first Searching trailer

After David Kim (John Cho)’s 16-year-old daughter goes missing, a local investigation is opened and a detective is assigned to the case. But 37 hours later and without a single lead, David decides to search the one place no one has looked yet, where all secrets are kept today: his daughter’s laptop. In a hyper-modern thriller told via the technology devices we use every day to communicate, David must trace his daughter’s digital footprints before she disappears forever.

    It's a short interview, but a few major points of discussion:
  • He talks about how emotional it was to see the movie, which "center[s] on a second-generation Asian-American family in a story not dealing with their race" at Sundance;

  • He talks about how the film taps into the concerns of parents whose children are using computers and smart phones ("I think the scary new wrinkle for parents is that we used to think that if we kept them safe, if we kept them out of the woods and told them not to talk to strangers, they would be okay. The problem now with computers is that the woods are now in the house...");

  • He talks about the technical difficulty in filming, which made him "very unsure" of his performance - in the film, his character doesn't talk to any other characters face to face - and how much he had to rely on the director;

  • He says the film is a classic whodunit, but shot in an untraditional way.

Filmmaker Anna Biller who delivered the amazing "The Love Witch" is receiving a lot of hate on Twitter after expressing her frustrations with how women are portrayed in horror films. It started with a tweet alluding to her frustration with the notion of the "final girl" and how its a trope designed to allow men to relieve male voyeuristic guilt after watching numerous women mutilated before the final girl arrives.







After explaining her views on Twitter, she continued to be attacked by both women and men so she elaborated further. OP note: some female contributors wrote articles on popular sites disagreeing with her views after her tweets.






Men, of course, wouldn't let this go and continued to tweet her while Anna had some interesting ideas for a horror film.






The tweets continued for a while before Anna Tweeted the below which OP believes is her trying to get the attacks off her twitter.

The world premiere of 'Solo: A Star Wars Story'

In anticipation of tonight's premiere, some Star Wars fans spent the night on Hollywood Blvd alongside a replica of the iconic Millenium Falcon. You can see exclusive red carpet interviews with cast and crew from the comfort of your own home by visiting StarWars.com or the Star Wars Youtube channel at 8:00pm ET / 5:00pm PT.

Bobby Moynihan helped create the Star Wars-themed SNL sketch "Undercover Boss: Starkiller Base," which featured Adam Driver playing Kylo Ren pretending to be a radar technician.

He says: "It's the best. We were so excited to have Adam Driver come in that week, he could not have been cooler, it was just the best. Just watching him getting into Kylo Ren. Right before one of the shots, he was like, 'Can I have a second?' and started punching himself in the stomach in the corridor and I was like, 'That is the coolest thing in the world.'"














The following video debunks a popular fan theory.

Because an actor for the role of Enfys Nest was never officially announced and the villain was rumored to be female, many fans thought Emilia Clarke's Qi'ra would turn out to be Enfys in the end. Seeing Enfys and Qi'ra together puts an end to that.

New Star Wars book takes fans to Batuu(source)

Debuting this fall, Flight of the Falcon is a collection of stories that revolve around the Millenium Falcon. The series stars Bazine Netal, recognizable from the cantina scene in The Force Awakens, while she tries to hunt down the ship--learning about its history in the process.

Creative Director for Lucasfilm Publishing Michael Siglain says, “These tales take us from a time just before Solo: A Star Wars Story, when Lando and L3 had the Falcon, through the original trilogy, and into the new trilogy, ending on the incredible world of Batuu."

Batuu is a new planet created for the Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge themed lands currently under construction at Disneyland and Disney World.

CFDA cites that Kim K was one of the first to monetize from her digital platforms and create a two-way dialogue with her followers. CFDA board member and designer Tommy Hilfiger called Kardashian the “most important and powerful influencer in the world” in the council’s statement. Kim K has over 200 million followers on all social formats and her tweets/pix garner over a million likes in record time. For those reasons the CFDA created an award especially made for Kim K.

- "Lyrics on each song are rambling, stream-of-consciousness style; more like diary entries by one of the hotel occupants. It’s obviously the concept of the whole album, but that style may also stem from how Turner wrote this album on the piano for the first time."

*Right after cancelling three comedy series, Fox announced they have picked up “Rel” for the the 2018-2019 season.

*The comedy stars Lil Rel Howery (“Get Out” “The Carmichael Show”) as a newly single dad trying to rebuild his life in a Chicago after discovering his wife having an affair with his barber.

*Also stars Sinbad as Rel’s dad.

*Jerrod Carmichael(“The Carmichael Show” and Mike Scully(“The Simpsons”) are among the exec producers.

*This is the third multi-cam comedy Fox has picked up this season.
