A trippy (and mesmerizing) UFO sex cult horror movie https://t.co/j0LjfLWZK7

In The Endless, two brothers return to the cult they were raised in. Writers/directors Aaron Moorhead and Justin Benson -- who also starred in the film as the two brothers -- discuss, among other things:
- how the film fits in within their cinematic universe of the previous films, Resolution and Spring
- interestingly, Moorhead says that during the festival circuit of Resolution, sometimes the film was described as "Lovecraftian mumblecore" - but they don't do improv in their films
- how they were planning on doing a no-budget comedy about them in a UFO death cult, then realized that what they filmed was "extremely unfunny"
- how even after the success of Spring, they were "waiting for somebody to take charge of [their] careers" and decided to make The Endless themselves
- cults, and researching them for the movie
- the autobiographical elements of the film, exploring grief and forgiveness
Does The Endless live up to its hype of its 100% Rotten Tomatoes score? If slippery, sophisticated horror is your thing. You're going to want to seek out The Endless. https://t.co/l7fmv94KEZ

Short answer: YES.
Review points out that The Endless is being compared to It Follows and The Babadook, but it's not like those movies at all. The Endless is an "unexpected and emotionally wrought angle on horror."
