Stranger Things Post: Season 3 details revealed + the cast at PaleyFest

- Shawn Levy, an EP on the show, also commented on the verbal abuse allegations, although it's worth noting that he did so on the red carpet and not during the PaleyFest panel (i.e., not in front of the cast). This was his response:
"We were genuinely upset. And we were surprised to hear that anyone felt uncomfortable on set. I want to be really clear that nobody has been targeted in any way on the basis of race or gender. We all cherish the family that we've created onscreen and cherished equally the family that we created on set and we're going to remain committed to the well-being of that."


- Like the second season, season 3 will take place roughly one year after the events of the finale, during the summer of 1985.

- Eleven/Mike and Max/Lucas will each still be together at the beginning of the season.

- There will be more Dad Steve, so here's hoping that they don't beat that into the ground. Although, considering the fans already did that, maybe it'll just come full circle.

- Back to the Future will be a key reference this season.

Creator of Ren & Stimpy, John Kricfalusi, revealed as a sexual predator

  • Two women, Robyn Byrd and Katie Rice, have stepped forward to accuse John Kricfalusi, creator of Ren & Stimpy, of grooming them when they were teens

  • Both women were fans of Ren & Stimpy as children and wrote Kricfalusi fan letters saying they wanted to be cartoonists

  • In both cases he responded to their fan letters and then began an online and in person relationship with each one


  • Byrd officially became Kricfalusi's "girlfriend" at the age of 16 (he was 41) and he eventually hired her to do animation on his show

  • Byrd's "relationship" with him was an open secret and a book written on him even includes a reference to his "15 year old girlfriend"

  • Co-workers remember him sharing pornographic images of her

  • After she left him he stepped up his sexual harassment of Rice including threatening to rape her

  • She quit working for him after finding child porn on his computer

  • An anonymous ex of Kricfalusi's also says she found child porn on his computer

Kricfalusi's statement through his lawyer:

The 1990s were a time of mental and emotional fragility for Mr. Kricfalusi, especially after losing Ren and Stimpy, his most prized creation. For a brief time, 25 years ago, he had a 16-year-old girlfriend. Over the years John struggled with what were eventually diagnosed mental illnesses in 2008. To that point, for nearly three decades he had relied primarily on alcohol to self-medicate. Since that time he has worked feverishly on his mental health issues, and has been successful in stabilizing his life over the last decade. This achievement has allowed John the opportunity to grow and mature in ways he’d never had a chance at before.

•Yesterday a financial aid scandal at Howard University took over social media, the internet, and Twitter.

• It was revealed that students at Howard University in Washington, D.C. had been cheated out of $1 million dollars from financial aid after school officials embezzled funds designated for low-income students between 2007 and 2016.

• University students were naturally outraged and led a protest yesterday on March 29th with a fitting anthem: “Bitch Better Have My Money.”💰

• The “Kiss It Better” singer retweeted a video of the protest adding a flexing arm and a raising hands emoji to her tweet.

As we already know Queer Eye was renewed a few days ago, but it seems Netflix believed in the show from the beginning because the new season has already been shot.

Underappreciated Fab Bobby Berk reveals in a new interview that the new 8 episodes were filmed at the tail of the first season, they'll be back at Georgia and it will feature a more diverse cast of "heroes".

No date has been announced but is expected to return later this year.

David Hogg gets wind of this &tweets out a list of companies that advertise on The Ingraham Angle, and multiple companies pull out (Nestle US, Hulu, Nutrish, TripAdvisor,Expedia, Wayfair and Johnson & Johnson)




This prompted Ingraham to apologize, saying it was "holy week." rme

“Despite everything, I think that Europeans have lost a lot with the loss of Harvey Weinstein. You have to remember that there are French producers who we haven’t denounced — I won’t mention them; I won’t mention names, although I know three who are extremely respected — I don’t know why they weren’t denounced as well. They absolutely had their place.”

“Long before the #MeToo movement started, I was very upset when Jessica Chastain made statements against the film ‘Last Tango in Paris.’ If you listen to her, that film should never have been made. To listen to her, Maria Schneider was raped. But Jessica Chastain wasn’t there, and it’s not true — I was on set. The scene was fiction.”

France’s equivalent of #MeToo
“I’m absolutely against #BalanceTonPorc (France’s equivalent of #MeToo). It’s too easy to accuse people via hashtags anonymously; we have a justice system. And France, too, has a history with ‘balance ton juif,’ ‘denounce your jew.’ We know the hashtag #BalanceTonPorc was invented out of vengeance. This isn’t to diminish women; there are real rapes and real violence. In French, the word violence contains viol: rape. That’s why the reception of my films was frequently so devastating.”


Sexual Misconduct
“Women mustn’t be afraid to speak out, but still, you can’t resort to #MeToo about verbal violence. Of course, if you’re 14, verbal violence can be the same as actual physical aggression, but when you’re 25 or 30 and you go to a man’s hotel room, you know the game. Women shouldn’t present themselves as bimbos or innocent young things regardless of their age. Rather, we have to educate young girls so that they’re better equipped to defend themselves and so they don’t feel soiled just because someone said something to them. That’s not sufficient. They have to know how to respond.”

About feminism
“I’m a feminist, but not in my films. Feminism can go too far, into a kind of respect that’s unnecessary, but of course rape is a crime, attempted rape is a crime. They must be harshly punished and condemned, and they aren’t always.”

About Asia Argento and Weinstein
“To be very honest, I don’t believe Asia. I know her, and she was very, very young…If there’s anyone I don’t believe, it’s Asia Argento. As a person, Asia Argento is quite servile. I never asked her to kiss my feet, but she’s that kind of person. I don’t believe Asia. If there’s anyone capable of defending herself, who’s not timid about sex, who does it a lot, and has lots and lots of desire for both men and women, it’s her. So I don’t believe Asia. For Asia, it was obviously, let’s say, motivated by self-interest — it was a kind of semi-prostitution. Harvey Weinstein’s not the worst man there is; he’s not the most stupid, either. Asia may have been disappointed that she didn’t become a great Hollywood actress she might have been, but there were lots of other things: drugs, many other things. She feels bitter. Because bitterness, too, can lead people to denounce if you wanted to obtain something and you didn’t obtain it, if you feel humiliated. Quite honestly, I don’t like Asia. I think she’s a mercenary and a traitor.”

- they are accused of possessing secret government papers,

- a court in Yangon has been holding preliminary hearings since January to decide whether they will be charged under the colonial-era Officials Secrets Act (which carries a maximum penalty of 14 years in prison),

- lawyers for the two reporters on Wednesday asked the court to throw out the case,
