Get ready for MORE TIMMY! Director Guadagnino has now said that he is already working on the film’s follow-up, which will see stars Armie Hammer and Timothée Chalamet return as Oliver and Elio.

“I’m already conceiving the story with [author] André Aciman,” Guadagnino told USA Today. “It’s gonna happen five or six years afterwards, so almost in the 1990s.”

“It’s gonna be a new movie, a different tone,” he added. “You’re gonna see a lot of the East Coast of America… They’re gonna go around the world.”

Dee Rees, Melissa McCarthy, and Nancy Meyers Debut Three Short Films for Walmart at the Oscars

– Walmart asked directorsDee Rees (Pariah, Mudbound), Melissa McCarthy(Mike & Molly), and Nancy Meyers (The Parent Trap, Something's Gotta Give, The Holiday), to direct three short films for them revolving around the concept of a Walmart box.
– The three short films aired last night. Rees and Meyer's were just one minute, while McCarthy's ran longer and was edited down for time.
– This is the second year of short films aired during the Oscars, as Walmart asked Antoine Fuqua, Marc Foster, and Seth Rogen and Evan Goldeberg. The definition of an upgrade as Walmart was forced to hike its minimum wage last month, but not without layoffs.
– The other talent: Dee Rees worked with Mary J. Blige and her trail-blazing cinematographer Rachel Morrison and features professional boxer Claressa Shields from Flint, Michigan. McCarthy's stars Tony-award nominated Keala Settle. Meyer's film features composer Hans Zimmer and P.J. Byrne.

ONTD, what do you think of them? And do you want to see Dee Rees direct a big budget sci-fi/fantasy film someday?

Emma Stone receives backlash for "four men and Greta Gerwig" joke at the Oscars

While presenting Best Director at the Oscars last night, Emma Stone introduced the nominees as "four men and Greta Gerwig," a jab at the fact that Gerwig is only the fifth female director to be nominated in Oscars history.

Some Twitter activists are taking issue with this joke, since two of the nominees - including eventual winner Guillermo del Toro - were men of color. They say it represents "peak white feminism."

Ashton Kutcher and Mila Kunis' Kids Won't Inherit Their Money

Appearing on his friend Dax Shepard's Armchair Expert podcast, Ashton Kutcher revealed that his two children with wife Mila Kunis (3-year-old daughter Wyatt and 15-month-old son Dimitri) will never be trust fund kids.

“I’m not setting up a trust for them. We’ll end up giving our money away to charity and to various things. And so if my kids want to start a business and they have a good business plan, I’ll invest in it but they’re not getting trusts. So hopefully they’ll be motivated to have what they had or some version of what they had.”

E! will be protecting Ryan Seacrest tonight by setting up a 30 sec tape delay

- Remember when people were crying about the "witch hunt" and how it would impact a man's career? E! is basically protecting Ryan Seacrest by setting up a 30 second tape delay during the red carpet so viewers won't hear anything negative, or TRUE, about Seacrest. The tape delay allows them to cut out any negative comments about Seacrest.

- Seacrest was accused of sexual harassment and abuse by former E! stylist. When she complained to E! about Seacrest's behavior, they laid her off two weeks later.

Seth MacFarlane: "Another big problem with the Oscars: It’s 99% drama."

0
0
Seth MacFarlane took it to Twitter on Sunday night to mini-rant about some criticism he has for the Oscars.

Without a dash of the type of hostility we've grown accustomed to seeing in Twitter rants, Seth MacFarlane reasonably touched up on the pattern the Academy Awards follows with its lack of comedies nominated for Best Picture.

Bridesmaids was nominated under the Best Supporting Actress and Best Original Screenplay categories at the 84th Academy Awards. Though, his point still stands, and he even replied to people arguing that a movie like 'Bridesmaids' was not Best Picture material.

When asked by a follower what comedy has ever been "Best Picture quality", Seth responds with a pretty good list of examples:

Sources (Seth's Twitter): one, two, three

that horrid oscar performance that made me unstan aside, I definitely agree with him here tbh
