Many members of the
Stranger Things cast are also heavily involved in music, or hail from musical backgrounds. Listen away, and predict if any one of these individuals will, or could, successfully crossover into music.
The BandsCalpurnia (Finn Wolfhard)We start with Finn Wolfhard's band Calpurnia. They recently played a show in Brooklyn, because of course. Calpurnia is set to play the first Royal Mountain festival in Canada in September, and recently recorded an EP. Ayla Tesler-Mabe, the guitarist, is very talented.
Post Animal (Joe Keery)Next is Joe Keery's band Post Animal. A very Tame Impala-esque Chicago crew, Post Animal is the most successful of the Stranger Things-adjacent bands. They will be releasing their debut album titled "When I Think Of You In A Castle," which one can only assume refers to Castle Byers. At least they know their audience.
The Broadway Babies (feat. Millie Bobby Brown)Work in Progress (Gaten Matarazzo)Gaten Matarazzo's band Work in Progress is a family affair consisting of his brother, sister, and three other people. Gaten has a Broadway background: he starred in Les Mis as Gavroche. Below is a cover of Paramore's "Misery Business" that Hayley Williams sweetly tweeted about:
Caleb McLaughlinThe most underrated member of the Party also hails from Broadway. Caleb starred as Young Simba in the Lion King. He also sang in an Old Navy Christmas ad. Here he is singing "I Just Can't Wait to be King" with Darren Criss (???):
Sadie Sink and Millie Bobby BrownSadie starred as Annie on Broadway, and was in the show at the same time that Gaten and Caleb were in their respective shows. The only recent sample of her singing is alongside Millie Bobby Brown, so they get a combined post because they're adorable.
Dacre MontgomeryNot singing, but Dacre plays the piano. This vid is short but lovely:
