Rachel Weisz Speaks Out Against a Female James Bond

In a recent interview with The Telegraph, Rachel Weisz spoke out against the idea of gender swapping the character of James Bond:

“[Fleming] devoted an awful lot of time to writing this particular character, who is particularly male and relates in a particular way to women. Why not create your own story rather than jumping on to the shoulders and being compared to all those other male predecessors? Women are really fascinating and interesting and should get their own stories.”

ONTD Original: A look at the mess that is the Fifty Shades Trilogy (Part 2)

ONTD ORIGINAL:
FIFTY SHADES OF FUCKERY

Since the Fifty Shades Trilogy has been deemed as an “ode to consent”, I thought I would highlight all the fuckery in these books and how it is the complete opposite. The trilogy has gone on to make $1 billion at the box office (vomit) because women have been sexually repressed and shamed for the longest so they naturally loved these books. Who doesn’t dream of marrying a billionaire with mommy issues that leaves ~love bites~ all over your body so you can’t wear revealing clothing?!

This will be a three part ONTD Original that is dedicated to every book in the trilogy.

PART TWO: FIFTY SHADES DARKER

We last left off at Christian viciously lashing Ana with a belt. She leaves him and never wants to see him again but is shown to be regretting her decision because he's the only guy she's ever loved.

Chapter One
Ana’s life has been rough since she ditched her abusive boyfriend. She’s started her new job and basically works and cries all day. Her boss is hovering over her and annoying her. She receives an email from Christian at work re: the gallery and offers to take her. Keep in mind she left him due to him wanting to “punish her”. He doesn’t respect her wishes and still tries to keep some form of contact with her whether it’s sending her flowers or emailing her. He somehow gets her email address as well which is not even surprising at this point considering he tracks her location like a creeper. She’s torn over the decision. She can’t be with someone who would want to inflict such pain on her but she’s in love with him and five days without him have been difficult. Ana ends up accepting his offer anyways.

He comes to pick her up and immediately snaps her and asks her when was the last time she ate. How dreamy! She tells him it’s none of his concern and he says that everything she does concerns him.

“Well? Your last meal?”
“Christian, that really is none of your concern,” I murmur, feeling extraordinarily brave.
“Whatever you do concerns me. Tell me.”

He then thinks to ask her how she’s been. You would think thats the first thing he would ask her considering how their last encounter turned out. They take the helicopter to the gallery and he makes a comment about her wearing heels.

“Good thing for you this is only three floors, in those heels,” he mutters to me in disapproval.
No kidding.
“Don’t you like the boots?”
“I like them very much, Anastasia.” His gaze darkens and I think he might say something else, but he stops. “Come. We’ll take it slow. I don’t want you falling and breaking your neck.”

Christian keeps referring to Jose as “the boy” even though he’s only a year behind Ana in school. Ana’s been getting strange looks while at the gallery only for her to see portraits of her on display. Christian ends up buying all of them because obviously NO ONE can have such pictures of her because she’s “his”.

“Did you just buy one of these?”
“One of these?” he snorts, not taking his eyes off them.
“You bought more than one?”
He rolls his eyes. “I bought them all, Anastasia. I don’t want some stranger ogling you in the privacy of their home.”

He remarks that he’s never seen that relaxed as she looks in the pictures and he wants her to be like that with him.

“You have to stop intimidating me if you want that,” I snap.
“You have to learn to communicate and tell me how you feel,” he snaps back, eyes blazing.

He turns it all back on her and makes her seem at fault. She confronts him over the mixed signals he's been sending.

“It’s very confusing being with you. You don’t want me to defy you, but then you like my ‘smart mouth.’ You want obedience, except when you don’t, so you can punish me. I just don’t know which way is up when I’m with you.”

Christian wants to leave even though Ana wants to stay. He feels the need to feed her because she’s “fading away”. She asks to stay longer and he shuts her down. She says her goodbyes to Jose aka The Boy. As they’re leaving, Christian takes her into a side alley, pushes her against the wall, and forcibly kisses her.

“He looks quickly up and down the street then heads left and suddenly sweeps me into a side alley, abruptly pushing me up against a wall. He grabs my face between his hands, forcing me to look up into his ardent determined eyes. I gasp, and his mouth swoops down. He’s kissing me, violently. Briefly our teeth clash, then his tongue is in my mouth.”

“You. Are. Mine,” he snarls, emphasizing each word. He pushes away from me and bends, hands on his knees as if he’s run a marathon. “For the love of God, Ana.”

Chapter Two
They get to the restaurant and Christian orders for her. He gives her no choice at all. Doesn’t even consider that she may not want to eat steak. He constantly treats her like a child by nitpicking over what she eats, wears, and who her friends are. He’s given her no say whatsoever.

“And if I don’t like steak?”
He sighs. “Don’t start, Anastasia.”
“I am not a child, Christian.”
“Well, stop acting like one.”
It’s as if he’s slapped me. I blink at him. So this is how it will be, an agitated, fraught conversation, albeit in a very romantic setting but certainly no hearts and flowers.
“I’m a child because I don’t like steak?” I mutter trying to conceal my hurt.

The conversation shifts to him wanting her back. She tells him she can’t be who he wants her to be, which is a submissive. He says he wants her just the way she is but then blames her for not using the safe word.

“You’re upset because of what happened last time. I behaved stupidly, and you . . . So did you. Why didn’t you safe word, Anastasia?” His tone changes, becoming accusatory.”
“Answer me.”
“I don’t know. I was overwhelmed. I was trying to be what you wanted me to be, trying to deal with the pain, and it went out of my mind. You know . . . I forgot,” I whisper ashamed, and I shrug apologetically.
Jeez, perhaps we could have avoided all this heartache.
“You forgot!” he gasps with horror, grabbing the sides of the table and glaring at me.
I wither under his stare.
Shit! He’s furious again. My inner goddess glares at me, too. See, you brought all this on yourself!”

I don’t know who is more annoying, Ana or her fucking ~inner goddess~. And again, he tries to pin the blame on her. How dare she forget to use the safe word??? It’s not like she’s new to all of this and was scared out of her mind. The only person she’s ever been intimate with beat her with a belt.

“How can I trust you?” he says, his voice low. “Ever?”

She apologizes because she feels “stupid” and for not using the safe word. He then admonishes her for leaving because she said ~she never would~. She apparently said it in her sleep and that was the most comforting thing he’d heard in so long. Bitch please. He guilts her into apologizing and staying with him. Christian then commands her to eat and threatens to spank her if she doesn't.

“So help me God, Anastasia, if you don’t eat, I will take you across my knee here in this restaurant, and it will have nothing to do with my sexual gratification. Eat!”

Predictably, she listens to him and eats her food. As they are leaving, Christian wants to renovate the terms of their relationship. No whipping her with belts and no punishments. She doesn't mind the spanking as long as he does it with his hands. She mentions that he has needs.

“I need you more, Anastasia. These last few days have been purgatory. All my instincts tell me to let you go, tell me I don’t deserve you.”

At least he knows he deserves to rot and die alone with his billions.

Christian tells her that touching is a hard limit and finally explains to her why he doesn't like to be touched.

“After a while, he sighs, and in a soft voice he says, “I had a horrific childhood. One of the crack whore’s pimps . . .” His voice trails off, and his body tenses as he recalls some unimaginable horror. “I can remember that,” he whispers, shuddering.
Abruptly, my heart constricts as I remember the burn scars marring his skin. Oh, Christian. I tighten my arms around his neck.
“Was she abusive? Your mother?” My voice is low and soft with unshed tears.
“Not that I remember. She was neglectful. She didn’t protect me from her pimp.”
He snorts. “I think it was me who looked after her. When she finally killed herself, it took four days for someone to raise the alarm and find us . . . I remember that.”
I cannot contain my gasp of horror. Holy mother fuck. Bile rises in my throat.
“That’s pretty fucked-up,” I whisper.
“Fifty shades,” he murmurs.”

So they're back together! Shocking. He gives her back the keys to the Audi, her blackberry, MacBook, and an iPad. The iPad includes a playlist or "mixtape" of some shitty music.

They go back and forth over email and she loves how "commanding" he is.

“I like him like this—commanding—as long as I can stand up to him without fear of punishment.”

#RelationshipGoals

Chapter Three
Ana arrives at work and her boss makes a creepy comment about her looking "radiant". Christian and Ana chat over email through the day and he makes a remark that her e-mails are being monitored at work. Did she not think the company was going to keep track of e-mails she was sending through her work e-mail? Anyways, she's confused over why he would know that. He's so creepy and stalkerish so she doesn't think much of it. Ana's heading out for drinks at a bar with her boss and the staff.

As Ana is leaving work, a pale and ashen girl approaches her. She asks Ana what does she have that she doesn't. Ana immediately makes a connection between the girl and Christian. Ana gets to the bar and her boss is being creepy again. Christian arrives and pisses all over Ana and marks her as his. On the way back home, Ana comments on the pissing contest between her boss and him. Christian asks her if Jack is good at his job and that he better leave her alone before he's out of a job. Ana says he doesn't have that kind of power and it's revealed that he bought the company she works for.

“You’re buying the company,” I whisper in horror.
His smile slips in response to the panic in my voice. “Not exactly,” he says.
“You’ve bought it. SIP. Already.”
He blinks at me, warily. “Possibly.”
“You have or you haven’t?”
“Have.”
What the hell? “Why?” I gasp, appalled. Oh, this just is too much.
“Because I can, Anastasia. I need you safe.”
“But you said you wouldn’t interfere in my career!”
“And I won’t.”
I snatch my hand out of his. “Christian . . .” Words fail me.
“Are you mad at me?
“Yes. Of course I’m mad at you.” I seethe. “I mean, what kind of responsible business executive makes decisions based on who they are currently fucking?” I blanch and glance nervously once more at Taylor who is stoically ignoring us.”

Predictably, she gets over it and they have bad sex.

Chapter Four/Five
While they're eating, Christian basically tells her that if she were to find employment somewhere else, he'll just buy that company too. Totally normal!

“If I leave and find another job, will you buy that company, too?”
“You’re not thinking of leaving, are you?” His expression alters, wary once more.
“Possibly. I’m not sure you’ve given me a great deal of choice.”
“Yes, I will buy that company, too.” He is adamant.
I scowl at him again. I am in a no-win situation here.
“Don’t you think you’re being a tad overprotective?”
“Yes. I am fully aware of how this looks.”

Ana makes a sarcastic remark and he tells her sarcasm is the lowest form of wit. She asks if he has those "silver ball things" and he makes a sarcastic remark. When she throws his line back in his face, he makes a gross remark.

“Funnily enough, I don’t carry a spare set around with me. Not much call for them in the office.”
“I am very glad to hear it, Mr. Grey, and I thought you said that sarcasm was the lowest form of wit.”
“Well, Anastasia, my new motto is if you can’t beat ‘em, join ‘em.”
I gape at him— I can’t believe he’s just said that—and he looks sickeningly pleased with himself as he grins at me.”

They have bad sex again and Ana tries to return the check to him that he gave her for old car. She rips up the check so he deposits the money in her account.

“Deposited in your bank account, Monday. Don’t play games with me.” He’s boiling mad, but I don’t care.
“Twenty-four thousand dollars!” I’m almost screaming. “And how do you know my account number?”
My ire takes Christian by surprise.
“I know everything about you, Anastasia,” he says quietly.”

Now comes Ana's feminist moment:

“Why, why do you defy me?” he mumbles between his heated kisses.
My blood sings in my veins. Will he always have this effect on me? And I on him?
Because I can.” I’m breathless. I feel rather than see his smile against my neck, and he presses his forehead to mine.”

Christian wants to take Ana to a charity gala so he takes her to Elena aka Mrs. Robinson's salon. He basically takes her to the salon where he took all of his submissives. Ana finds out it's Elena's salon and is pissssed that he brought her there. She confronts him and he didn't think that she would be there. Christian's crazy ex Leila is on the loose and he wants to quickly go home because she could be anywhere. Ana thinks he's overreacting and Christian wants her to stay at his place.

"He glares at me. 'You are coming back to my apartment if I have to drag you there by your hair.'
I gape at him . . . this is beyond belief. Fifty Shades in Glorious Technicolor."

He also keeps a folder on her and all of his other submissives.

“He shrugs apologetically. “You can keep it,” he says quietly.
“Well, gee, thanks,” I snap. I flick through the contents. He has a copy of my birth certificate, for heaven’s sake, my hard limits, the NDA, the contract— Jeez—my social security number, resume, employment records.
“So you knew I worked at Clayton’s?”
“Yes.”
“It wasn’t a coincidence. You didn’t just drop by?”
“No.”
I don’t know whether to be angry or flattered.
“This is fucked-up. You know that?”

Chapter Seven
At the auction, Ana successfully bids on Christian's place in Aspen and she uses the money he gave her for the car.

“I don’t know whether to worship at your feet or spank the living shit out of you.”

Ana wants to leave after her confrontation with Mrs. Robinson. As they're trying to leave, Rita Ora tries to get Ana to dance with her. Christian tells Rita that they have a big day tomorrow so they're going to head home.

“What did you mean about a big day tomorrow?” I ask to distract myself.
“Dr. Greene is coming to sort you out. Plus, I have a surprise for you.”
“Dr. Greene!” I halt.
“Yes.”
“Why?”
“Because I hate condoms,” he says quietly. His eyes glint in the soft light from the paper lanterns, gauging my reaction.
“It’s my body,” I mutter, annoyed that he hasn’t asked me.
“It’s mine, too,” he whispers.
I gaze up at him as various guests pass by, ignoring us. He looks so earnest. Yes, my body is his . . . he knows it better than I do.”

Chapter Eight
He also watches her sleep

“Hi,” I murmur, grateful that I am lying on my front. “How long have you been watching me?”
“I could watch you sleep for hours, Anastasia. But I’ve only been here about five minutes.” He leans over and kisses me gently. “Dr. Greene will be here shortly.”
“Oh.” I’d forgotten about Christian’s inappropriate intervention.”

Ana hasn't been taking her birth control and Christian forces the issue on her because HE wants to stop wearing condoms. When Dr. Greene comes to see Ana and she tells the doctor that she stopped taking her birth control. The doctor tells her she could possibly be pregnant. Christian pesters Ana to tell him whats wrong, she tells him that the doctor scolded her for missing a pill and that she could've possibly gotten pregnant. When he finds out she isn't, he tells her that news like that would be upsetting.

“He blows out a deep breath. “Good. Yes, I can see that news like that would be very upsetting.”
I frown. . . . upsetting? “I was more worried about your reaction.”
He furrows his brow at me, puzzled. “My reaction? Well, naturally I’m relieved . . . it would be the height of carelessness and bad manners to knock you up.”
“Then maybe we should abstain,” I snap.
He gazes at me for a moment, bewildered, as if I’m some kind of science experiment.
“You are in a bad temper this morning.”

Chapter Ten
Christian gets mad when she jokingly tells Taylor that she was Mrs. Taylor the night before due to him booking the hotel reservations under his name.

“I was Mrs. Taylor yesterday.” I grin at Taylor, who flushes.
“That has a nice ring to it, Miss Steele,” Taylor says matter-of-factly.
“I thought so, too.”
Christian tightens his hold on my hand, scowling. “If you two have quite finished, I’d like a debrief.” He glares at Taylor, who now looks uncomfortable, and I cringe inwardly.
I have overstepped the mark.
“Sorry,” I mouth at Taylor, who shrugs and smiles kindly before I turn to follow Christian.“I’ll be with you shortly. I just want a word with Miss Steele,” Christian says to Taylor, and I know I’m in trouble.
Christian leads me into his bedroom and closes the door.
“Don’t flirt with the staff, Anastasia,” he scolds.
I open my mouth to defend myself—then close it again, then open it. “I wasn’t flirting.
I was being friendly—there is a difference.”
“Don’t be friendly with the staff or flirt with them. I don’t like it.”

Chapter Eleven
Ana's boss, Jack, wants her to join him at a symposium in New York for work. Ana agrees and lets Christian know. He gets mad that she's going with her boss and tells her the answer is no. She tells him she's going to New York no matter what. Christian overrules the decision and her boss tells her that now all expenses have to be approved by upper management. Ana emails Christian about interfering with her work and that she shouldn't have to ask him for his permission. She goes to get her boss lunch and Christian immediately finds out because he has someone watching her.

“You assured me you wouldn’t go out,” Christian interrupts me, his voice cold and hard.My heart sinks for the millionth time this day. Shit. How the hell does he know?

“Jack sent me out for some lunch. I couldn’t say no. Are you having me watched?” My scalp prickles at the notion. No wonder I felt so paranoid—someone was watching me. The thought makes me angry.
“This is why I didn’t want you going back to work,” Christian snaps.
“Christian, please. You’re being”— So Fifty—“so suffocating.”
“Suffocating?” he whispers, surprised.”

Chapter Fourteen
Leila showed up at Ana's apartment in the previous chapter. Ana sees Christian transform into a Dominant and is asked to leave. She goes to a bar with Kate's brother and gets drunk. She comes home to a worried Christian and she confronts him about Leila. She tells him she can't be what he wants and she feels inadequate. Christian gets onto his knees and begs Ana to stay.

“Christian, you don’t have to do this,” I plead. “I’m not going to run. I’ve told you and told you and told you, I won’t run.” All that’s happened . . . it’s overwhelming. I just need some time to think . . . some time to myself. Why do you always assume the worst?” My heart clenches again because I know; it’s because he’s so doubting, so full of self-loathing."

“I realize as I say these words to him—in the hope that he’s listening—what my real problem is. I just don’t get why he likes me. I have never understood why he likes me.

“I don’t understand why you find me attractive,” I murmur. “You’re, well, you’re you . . . and I’m . . .” I shrug and gaze up at him. “I just don’t see it. You’re beautiful and sexy and successful and good and kind and caring—all those things—and I’m not. And I can’t do the things you like to do. I can’t give you what you need. How could you be happy with me? How can I possibly hold you?” My voice is a whisper as I express my darkest fears. “I have never understood what you see in me. And seeing you with her, it brought all that home.” I sniff and wipe my nose with the back of my hand, gazing at his impassive expression.”

“I just wanted you gone,” he murmurs, with his uncanny ability to read my thoughts.
“I wanted you away from the danger, and . . . You. Just. Wouldn’t. Go,” he hisses through clenched teeth and shakes his head. His exasperation is palpable.”

It's also revealed that all his submissives, including Ana, look like his crackhead mom.

“You’re still here. I thought you would be out of the door by now,” he whispers.
“Why? Because I might think you’re a sicko for whipping and fucking women who look like your mother? Whatever would give you that impression?” I hiss at him, lashing out.He blanches at my harsh words.”

She tells him she's not gonna leave his sorry ass and he keeps asking for assurances #MenAreWeak. She asks him what will it take for him to understand that she won't leave him and he asks her to marry him. She asks for time to think it over. Ana asks what happened with Leila after she left the apartment and Christian tells her he gave Leila a bath. Ana freaks and they fight again.

Chapter Fifteen
During the night, she wakes up to get a glass of orange juice and Christian has a nightmare cause she left lol.

“You left, you left, you must have left,” he mumbles—his wide-eyed stare becoming accusatory—and he looks so lost, it wrenches at my heart. Poor Fifty.
“I’m here.” I sit down on the bed beside him. “I’m here,” I murmur softly in an effort to reassure him. I reach out to place my palm on the side of his face, trying to soothe him.
“You were gone,” he whispers rapidly. His eyes are still wild and frightened, but he seems to be calming.
“I went to get a drink. I was thirsty.”
He closes his eyes and rubs his face. When he opens them again, he looks so desolate.
“You’re here. Oh, thank God.” He reaches for me, and grabbing me tightly, he pulls me down on the bed beside him.”

They start kissing and he's trying to initiate sex. She tells him to stop and that she can't do this. He continues kissing her and convincing her to have sex.

“Christian . . . Stop. I can’t do this,” I whisper urgently against his mouth, my hands pushing on his upper arms.
“What? What’s wrong?” he murmurs and starts kissing my neck, running the tip of his tongue lightly down my throat. Oh . . .
“No, please. I can’t do this, not now. I need some time, please.”
“Oh, Ana, don’t overthink this,” he whispers as he nips my earlobe.
“Ah!” I gasp, feeling it in my groin, and my body bows, betraying me. This is so confusing.
“I am just the same, Ana. I love you and I need you. Touch me. Please.” He rubs his nose against mine, and his quiet heartfelt plea moves me and I melt.”

He basically uses foreplay against her but when he goes to grab a condom, he thinks to actually ask her whether or not she wants to have sex even though he didn't listen when she said no initially.

“Ana,” he breathes. He suddenly releases me and sits up; he removes his boxer briefs and leans over to the bedside table to grab a foil packet. His eyes are a blazing gray as he passes me the condom. “You want to do this? You can still say no. You can always say no,” he murmurs.
“Don’t give me a chance to think, Christian. I want you, too.” I rip the packet open with my teeth as he kneels between my legs, and with trembling fingers I slide it on to him.”

Chapter Sixteen
Jack is preparing to go to New York and is in a nasty mood. Ana keeps using her work email to chat with Christian even though he warns her it's being monitored. Jack tries to blackmail Ana and reveals that he knows all about the emails between her and Christian. Jack attempts to force himself on her but Ana is able to escape and she runs into Christian outside. She tells Christian about the emails and Jack's attempt at assault.

“Blackberry,” he hisses at me through clenched teeth.
“Please don’t be mad at me.” I blink up at him.
“I am so mad at you right now,” he snarls and once more sweeps his hand through his hair. “Get in the car.”
“Christian, please—”
“Get in the fucking car, Anastasia, or so help me I’ll put you in there myself,” he threatens, his eyes blazing with fury.
Oh shit. “Don’t do anything stupid, please,” I beg.
“STUPID! ” he explodes. “I told you to use your fucking Blackberry. Don’t talk to me about stupid. Get in the motherfucking car, Anastasia— NOW! ” he snarls and a frisson of fear runs through me. This is Very Angry Christian. I’ve not seen him this mad before. He’s barely holding on to his self-control.”

The book ends with Ana saying yes to marrying Christian after a life and death situation (not really). Kate finds the original contract (the one with the appendixes) and confronts the two. They reveal they're getting married and Kate forgets about it. Ana and Mrs. Robinson get into a confrontation along with Christian. His mother overhears and finds out that her friend hooked up with her son who was a teenager at the time.

Sony Pictures apologizes for their stupid as hell allergy scene in "Peter Rabbit"

Said Sony Pictures after the backlash this weekend (following up from the previous bullying post):

“Food allergies are a serious issue. Our film should not have made light of Peter Rabbit’s archnemesis, Mr. McGregor, being allergic to blackberries, even in a cartoonish, slapstick way. We sincerely regret not being more aware and sensitive to this issue, and we truly apologize.”

I just want another place to shit on this godawful movie. The scene being referenced is when the rabbits are attacking Domhnall Gleeson's character, and knowing he has a blackberry allergy, shoot one in his mouth, causing him to go into anaphylaxis (he saves himself with a epipen).

Lupita Nyong’o for Allure Magazine

“Lupita and I wanted to show that coil-y or kinky hair has many strengths and can be worn in lots of different ways, celebrating its beauty and versatility. Loving your true texture is important.”

"One thing I’ve learned was the acronym LOC, and that’s basically the rule for how to treat my hair: liquid, oil, and then cream. It’s the idea that you wet your hair first, then you add oil so that it can trap the moisture in, then you put a moisturizer or a cream over it. Shea butter, natural shea butter — no perfumes, no bleaches — which doesn’t smell great at all, but it does wonders to my hair."
