Katy Perry interviewed for March cover of Glamour

Famed Instagram post Cleo Wade interviewed her friend Katy Perry for Glamour.

-Shows are different physically now that she's older and she can't do them hung-over or after eating whatever she wants. She has a chef who does a no-sugar and no-dairy diet for her which helps.

-Says people on Idol come in with personal stories, but if they actually can't sing, the backstory has to come second and she hopes she doesn't get turned into "that bitch" because of it.

-Is preparing for a major "soul surgery" to "emotionally elevate' herself this year because she wants to be prepared to start a family and she doesn't want to transfer her lingering feelings from her childhood traumas to her children.

-Last year's focus on killing her ego was really necessary for her career.

I didn’t realize how much I relied on the outside validation. I thought that I didn’t, but once you get kicked down the mountain a little bit, you realize that the weather really is better at the top. It’s been really necessary for me to go through that. [And I’ve learned that] people don’t relate to someone who is perfect or always winning anyway. You can’t always be sitting perched on top of the mountain.

Chris Carter considering continuing X-Files without Gillian Anderson

Chris Carter discussed the possibility of X-Files continuing on in light of Gillian Anderson leaving after this season.

"I think that certainly The X-Files has more life in it, there are more stories to tell, with Gillian or without," Carter said. He compared it to when David Duchovny previously left the show; "I always thought of David the way I thought about the child William [Mulder and Scully's child], as an absent centre. Even when he wasn't there, he was the centre of everyone's concern, and the stories revolved around him. I think that's an interesting problem for storytellers and I think that if The X-Files is to go forward then Scully would be a similar absent centre."

The Haunting of Sharon Tate – Official Plot Details Arrive

Daniel Farrands discussed his upcoming film 'The Haunting of Sharon Tate' starring Hilary Duff.

“When I approached the idea of telling a new version of these tragic murders, I didn’t want to focus on the Manson ‘Family’ or the indefensible motives behind their horrific crimes,” Farrands said. “Instead, I wanted to make a film about Sharon Tate and her friends in the final days leading up to the murders. The story is inspired by an actual interview given by Sharon a year before her death where she described a nightmare in which she saw a strange man in the house and then discovered herself and and her friend Jay Sebring tied up with their throats cut open. I thought the idea of Sharon being haunted by premonitions of her own demise was a fascinating way into the story and one that focuses on Sharon’s strength and resilience of character rather than portraying her and her friends as helpless victims.”

Quentin Tarantino attempts damage control, responds to Uma Thurman's interview in the New York Times

$

  • He and Uma talked before the piece came out. He thought that Maureen Dowd would interview him to bring context to the information about the crash but she never did. He also claims he was going to point the finger at other people but they "lawyered up" which is why it looks like he's at fault for forcing Uma to do an unsafe stunt

  • He never thought of the car sequence as a stunt, says he never screamed at Uma or bullied her. Says that he drove the road first to make sure it was okay and then told her it would be really easy to do and was completely straight, even though he thought of her as a "shaky" driver

  • After telling Uma he had tested the road he then had her drive in the opposite direction because of the light. The road in the opposite direction was not straight like he had told Uma and was much more dangerous than he anticipated

  • Calls the accident one of the biggest regrets of his life because for the next few years they had a bad relationship

  • Complains that the NYT article de-emphasized all the good he did irl

  • Did not take Mira's allegations of assault seriously when she told him about it

  • Says that he insisted Harvey apologize to Uma for almost raping her as a condition of making the movie together

  • Says the 90s were a different time re: sexual assault and harassment

  • He says that he chose himself to spit on Uma because he trusted himself to get the shot done in only a few takes

  • Says Uma suggested he be the one to choke her

  • Talks about choking Diane Kruger in Inglorious Bastards and says he really was choking her for 30 seconds with a stunt guy monitering her so that her veins would pop out and it would look real because it was real

  • He has been talking to Uma since the article dropped and she told him the bad press he is getting is his own fault for not talking to Maureen Dowd

  • Insists he and Uma are still good friends

  • Points out that in a recent instagram post Uma listed the three men she holds responsible for the crash: Lawrence Bender, E. Bennett Walsh, and the notorious Harvey Weinstein and that the NYT redacted some of their names for their article

Uhhh, I'm glad Uma has made peace with him, but this interview does not make him look great.

chadwick boseman and ryan coogler on the cover of variety

Chadwick Boseman and director Ryan Coogler discuss Black Panther in the newest issue of Variety.

https://instagram.com/p/Be1gJUIh5qj

https://instagram.com/p/Be1mtoJjcqQ

Boseman doesn’t want to speculate about a sequel. At least not yet. “I’m enjoying this moment,” he says. “If we start talking about sequels — if we do four of them, two of them, three of them — I just want them all to be special like this one.”

https://instagram.com/p/Be1AVkRn0tj

Coogler realizes there is an overarching message in his films. “For me, in retrospect, I realized a lot of what I deal with as an artist is with themes of identity,” the director says. “I think it’s something common among African-Americans. For us, we’ve got a strange circumstance in terms of our view of ourselves.” He made a pilgrimage to Africa before he began shooting “Black Panther,” the first time he visited the continent. “I have to go if I’m making this movie,” Coogler says. “I’m not qualified just because I look like this.”

Kian Lawley is a YouTuber who gained fame through the collaboration channel O2L and has recently found moderate success in acting (so don't "who?" me, I just told you). He was cast in Twentieth Century Fox's The Hate U Give, an adaptation of Angie Thomas' book centering on a police shooting. Days ago, a video resurfaced of Lawley using the N-word and other racial slurs. “We’re all black drinking purple Kool-aid and eating Kentucky fried motherf—king chicken."

Twentith Century Fox has officially cut Lawley from the film and plans to recast.

Quentin Tarantino said Polanski’s victim “wanted to have it”.

- New audio was released in which Tarantino is heard saying that Roman Polanski’s 13 year old victim “wanted to have it”. Polanski's victim was drugged and given alcohol before Polanski raped her. Tarantino defended Polanski’s behavior back in 2003 in an interview with Howard Stern. Stern was the voice of reason and stated that a grown man should know that sex with a 13 year old is wrong. Tarantino then said that "she was down with it". Tarantino was well aware of Weinstein’s behavior but chose to ignore it. He didn't even care when it happened to Mira Sorvino, his girlfriend at the time.

Tarantino's comment: He didn’t rape a 13-year-old. It was statutory rape...he had sex with a minor. That’s not rape. To me, when you use the word rape, you’re talking about violent, throwing them down—it’s like one of the most violent crimes in the world. You can’t throw the word rape around. It’s like throwing the word ‘racist’ around. It doesn’t apply to everything people use it for.
