Nintendo and the studio responsible for Minions are partnering to create a Mario movie.

News had come out back in November, but Nintendo has just now officially confirmed it. Details are sparse. It's just known that Shigeru Miyamoto, the creator of Mario, and Chris Meledandri, who's worked on Despicable Me, will be producers.

You may or may not remember Jenna Rose - she gained media attention as a pre-teen with her single "My Jeans", which was produced by the same company that made Rebecca Black's "Friday". "My Jeans" went viral on YouTube and received 14 million views but her follow up "OMG" received massive criticism for being oversexualized and inappropriate (even here on ONTD lol).  Stupidly, most people directed their insults and criticism toward the 12 year old singer, calling her a "slut" and a "whore", etc.

Jenna recently uploaded a video detailing the abuse that went on behind the scenes of that music video, the way she was forced into a sexualized image she was too young to understand for the sake of viral clicks and the impact that had on her psychological as a young girl.





Summary of her comments:
- The company knew that the controversial nature of the video would generate lots of revenue and essentially threw a 12 year old girl to the wolves for the sake of getting clicks.
- The company behind the music video basically told her parents to just go along with it because she was going to become ~a star~ using this provocative image.
- The controversial "Teen Boom Boom Doll" (a slang term for a sexually promiscuous teen) was completely unknown to her parents - they asked what it meant and were told "Don't worry about it, it doesn't mean anything, it's just a catchy tagline, etc." They naively believed it.
- The "Teen Boom Boom Doll" name apparently came from a very famous producer in the music industry that most of us would've heard of, but Jenna doesn't want to name names. He wanted to use the name as part of Jenna's brand to shop her around to labels.
- People online constantly called her a "slut", a "whore" etc even though she was just a 12 year old who hadn't even had her first kiss yet.
- Points out that these types of lyrics wouldn't have been so harshly criticized if she had been older, but bizarrely, people chose to get pissed at a 12 year old with zero control over her music or image.
- The company said the song was originally supposed to be sung by Britney Spears but it ended up not working out and went to Jenna instead, probably part of why the lyrics were so age inappropriate.
- She feels really, really bad about contributing to the sexualization of young girls. The comments were really horrifying and made growing up very hard, she cried constantly due to the online abuse.

Ryan Murphy talked about his upcoming "Ratched" series, a prequel focusing on the villainous nurse from One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest starring Sarah Paulson in the title role.

“The great thing about that show is the first four seasons follow Sarah’s origin story. How did she become a Hannibal Lecter figure? What happened to her to make her do that? It’s also a feminist tale because it starts in 1947. It really looks at the birth of a lot of things that were happening in our health care system. The last season of that show will be Sarah facing off against the Jack Nicholson character [Randle McMurphy] from the movie. It’ll let you understand how she became that person. We haven’t started casting the Nicholson part.”

"It’ll sort of be Sarah Paulson versus the male villain every year until you get to a worthy adversary. That’s the structure of that show but it has leaps of time forward because I’m interested in looking at health care in the ‘40s, ‘50s, ‘60s and ultimately where it ends up in that last season.”

Selma Blair shared her thoughts on the upcoming Hellboy reboot.

“God, you know, people are fans of Hellboy and also fans of Guillermo,” Blair said. “So part of us, the ones that were so loyal to Guillermo, our hearts are broken that it didn’t work out with the greatest third installment ever written that I wish I could play more than anything in the world. But I truly hope that Mike Mignola has his vision out there for the darker Hellboy come to light, and I’m sure he will, and David Harbour is excellent and everyone involved, but no my heart is broken.”

- Natalie Wood’s former husband, Robert Wagner, is a person of interest in the death of the actress. Wagner and Wood were both on a boat when Wood died of drowning. In 2011, the captain of the boat said he lied to the police at the time of the accident. According to the captain, Wagner and Wood were fighting and it led to her drowning.

- Christopher Walken has also spoken to authorities about that night.

The Pepsi superbowl commercial has premiered early, and it's a lot less than delusional Britney stans were expecting. Although it was originally rumoured to be a Britney Spears tribute with 4 new songs, directed by fashion photographer Peter Lindbergh... it actually is just a retrospective of Pepsi commercials with stock footage of Britney from 2001.

Charlie Walk has been fired from The Four. He will appear on Thursday episode, as it was pre-taped, but he will not be on the finale next week. The Fox network has not yet disclosed how it will address the decision on air or if it will replace him.

Mr. Walk has been placed on leave, and will remain in leave for the duration of the investigation."

Over the past 37 years, Depeche Mode have released 55 singles. Now they have partnered with Hublot to release a line of 55 different watches that will benefit their charity, Charity: Water.

-Each watch features a disc that partially shows the image of the record cover it represents
-The back of the watch features the full album cover as well as the Charity: Water logo
-The straps will be a different colour specific to the album it represents, and will be adorned with ~rock-and-roll-inspired rubber studs~
