Following sexual misconduct allegations

Charlie Walk has been fired from The Four. He will appear on Thursday episode, as it was pre-taped, but he will not be on the finale next week. The Fox network has not yet disclosed how it will address the decision on air or if it will replace him.

He has also been placed on leave by Republic Records following several allegations of sexual misconduct made against him by former employees this week.

"Republic Records is committed to a safe workplace environment where employees are treated fairly and respectfully," the company said in a statement. "We have retained an outside law firm to conduct an independent investigation of this matter and have encouraged anyone who has relevant information to speak to the firm’s investigators. Mr. Walk has been placed on leave, and will remain in leave for the duration of the investigation."

Tim Allen joins docudrama taking down PC culture

0
0
- Actor Tim Allen, comedian Adam Corolla, and radio talk show host Dennis Prager are crowdfunding a film titled No Safe Spaces, "aimed at disrupting the liberal and PC culture in Hollywood, on college campuses and in comedy".

- Allen's ABC sitcom, Last Man Standing, was cancelled last year after a 6-year run. Allen and his fans claim that the show was canned because he and his character expressed conservative opinions; ABC claims the cancellation had nothing to do with politics.

- Allen has stated that "there is nothing more dangerous, especially in this climate, than a funny, likable conservative character.”

- Corolla commented, “nothing kills comedy quite like people who are constantly offended... It’s impossible to be funny if we’re not allowed to poke fun at each other and that’s what’s happening with a new generation of people who seem to be offended for a living...If we can’t have fun with one another than we lose our humanity. If free speech goes, then our basic freedoms will follow soon after.”

- No Safe Spaces features a scene in which African-American comedian Karith Foster complains that she can no longer tell a particular joke about how she is often not considered black enough because she grew up in a white suburb. Quote: "Why, because I enunciate? Because I finish my sentences? Because I happen to know who my father is?”

- The movie also focuses on the trend of college campuses canceling conservative speakers due to student protests. Prager sees this trend as "alarming evidence of the deep misunderstanding of the First Amendment in American society" and states that the "contemporary left is the greatest threat to free speech in American history."

Julian Casablancas speaks out on book, feud with Ryan Adams, The Strokes reuniting

0
0

Quick backstory: In Lizzy Goodman's Meet Me in the Bathroom: Rebirth and Rock and Roll in New York City 2001-2011, Albert Hammond Jr. called Ryan Adams a bad influence on Hammond's heroin habit and said that Julian threatened to beat him up. As some of you may know, Adams fought back by saying Julian was "strung out on lasagna."

Now Julian is talking to the press again about the whole ordeal...
-Says the book didn't speak to the true insiders, including his wife Juliet who co-managed The Strokes for 10 years
-On Adams, he says he just speaks in interviews and may or may not have said that, is not into throwing people under the bus, says he shouldn't be involved
-Is not into feuds; doesn't pay attention to what he says when it's not to someone's face
-Says he's talking with fellow Strokes members but doesn't expect anything until 2019

I'm reading this book right now... I highly recommend it

Lorde vs Israel controversy still not over - New Zealand activists sued over tour cancellation

0

- 3 teenage Israelis are reportedly suing the 2 New Zealand activists (Justine Sachs and Nadia Abu-Shanab, of Jewish and Palestinian origin respectively) who allegedly convinced Lorde to cancel the show over "emotional injury"

- the lawsuit was lauched by an Israeli legal rights group, Shurat HaDin, in what appears to be the first lawsuit filed under a controversial Israeli anti-boycott law

- the 2011 law allows civil lawsuits against anyone calling for a boycott against Israel & has been criticized as an attack on free speech

- the laywer representing the plaintiffs said: "These girls are ideologists. They are going into the army next year, and they feel very shamed and hurt by the allegations that the New Zealand activists blamed Israel for. They want to say on a personal and an international level, that those who boycott Israel or make a call to boycott Israel will be responsible and they have to pay."

- one of the activists has confirmed the lawsuit on twitter, calling it a "stupid stunt" and saying :

Brendi K. is still really pissed about Liz's comment about her family. Christina shows some maturity and tells Liz to put herself in Brendi K.'s shoes. Liz apologizes to Brendi K., and she says "I would say it's okay, but it's not, so let's just stay out of each other's way" to which Liz calls her a stubborn bitch in her confessional.

The challenge was to memorize lines for a screentest with Kevin Phillips (who?). Whoever wins will win a speaking role in an upcoming project that Phillips is working on. The girls were all distracted by how "fine" this dude was, and naturally some people forgot their lines while others did well. The winner of the challenge was Khrystyana.

Rhyian was talking with Rio about how she can look better, and after posing a bit Rio said her eyes weren't changing. Rhyian said "I have dead eyes, that's just how they are" and then she she said she really just needs to lose weight to look better, which made Rio concerned.

The next morning, Liz complained that no one would let her in front of them in the shower line because she woke up late, which apparently makes them sociopaths.

The photoshoot was to look "scared but fierce" in a horror inspired shoot, styled by B. Akerlund. In Drew's terms, "this is not a shoot for complainers" because of the uncomfortable outfits such as corsets and huge heels. Amazingly, no one complained during the shoot.

Liz gets "a little emotionally disregulated" when she doesn't get enough sleep, so she tells the girls who are still awake in the living room (at like 1am, so I kind of don't blame her) to shut up which of course doesn't go well. So, Liz leaves to go sleep in a hotel. The next day, Liz talks to Tyra backstage about it before panel, and Liz ends up withdrawing from the competition despite doing really well in the photoshoot.

Teaser for "The First Purge" released after Trump's State of the Union address

If you watched Trump's divisive State of the Union address last night, you might have compared its eeriness to that of a Purge movie. You also may have caught the teaser to The Purge prequel, The First Purge, in the commercials following the program.

Synopsis:

“To push the crime rate below one percent for the rest of the year, the New Founding Fathers of America (NFFA) test a sociological theory that vents aggression for one night in one isolated community. But when the violence of oppressors meets the rage of the marginalized, the contagion will explode from the trial-city borders and spread across the nation."

The film is directed by Gerard McMurray and stars Y’Lan Noel, Lex Scott Davis, Joivan Wade, Luna Lauren Velez, and Marisa Tomei. It will be released on July 4.

Pile of shit Woody Allen apparently still has 3 more movies he can make with Amazon contract

0
0

So apparently, previous Amazon asshole Roy Price apparently signed a five-movie deal with Woody Allen back in 2016. He's delivered two of those so far - the fucking awful 'Wonder Wheel' and the unfortunate upcoming mess 'A Rainy Day in New York' (which apparently cost $25M WTF, and may or may not be actually released).

According to the report, Allen still has 3 movies he can make with Amazon as part of the deal. However, it looks like Amazon's prepping to get rid of Allen's fucking piece of shit ass ASAP, but it's gonna come at a huge price. If they sever ties with the contract, Amazon's giving Allen a huge payout.

The rest of the article just goes on about how Amazon and Netflix are still trying to figure out how to fucking distribute movies without being flops (we haven't forgotten how badly you dropped the ball with 'Mudbound', Netflix).

Scott Baio's Awkward GMA Interview About Nicole Eggert's Molestation Allegation

0
0

Scott Baio appeared on Good Morning America this morning to defend himself against Nicole Eggert's accusation that he molested her for years, starting when she was only 14, when they starred together on Charles in Charge. The interview was described as a "train-wreck" by the New York Daily News, as Baio stammered his way through several awkward answers to questions by Amy Robach.

Robach asked if his relationship with Eggert, who was 14 to his 26 when the show began filming, was "flirtatious" on the set, and he responded "Amy, I can tell you and I mean this sincerely, one of the most fun things I've ever done. Talented girl. We had a great time on the set. Everybody liked each other. Everybody got along."

He insisted that nothing could have happened on the set because there were always other people around and the set was "like a picnic every day" and repeated his argument that Eggert told Nik Richie during a 2013 radio interview that she lost her virginity to Baio after Charles in Charge was done, when she would have been 18. Robach read a statement from Nik Richie, in which he said that after that interview "She was an emotional wreck. She told me it was much worse than she described on air. She said, 'He molested me as a child and I didn't know any better.' I can vividly remember that statement. It's not one you would forget."

Robach also read statements from Alexander Polinsky, who played Eggert's younger brother on Charles in Charge and said he witnessed "inappropriate cuddling" between Baio and Eggert on the set and Adam Karl, who guested on one episode and said he recalled Eggert crying over her treatment by Baio
.

When Robach asked Baio about Eggert's tweet in which she wrote "Ask Scott Baio what happened in his garage in his house when I was a minor. Creep.", Baio was at a loss for words, stammered, nervously laughed and threw his hands up in the air. "I have no idea what that means. I have no idea."Robach asked if he ever saw Eggert "off the set" and he seemed flustered, saying "Uh, off the set? I saw her in the, in the studio lot. Yeah, off the set."

Finally, Baio brought up the effect of the allegations on his career and family: “It's very important how this is affecting me, why somebody would come after me, my reputation and stop me from doing something that I love, what I've been doing since I'm nine years old. More important than that is my wife. I have a 10-year-old daughter. And my 10-year-old daughter does not need to be hearing about this from friends at school, these false allegations...Her job is to be 10 years old and that's why this has got to stop."

Women attending BAFTA awards will follow Golden Globes' lead and apparently wear all black too

0
0

Following the Golden Globes' lead, word is that women nominees and guests set to attend this year's BAFTA's - in London on February 18 - will be sticking to the all-black rule to show solidarity for the metoo movement against harassment and abuse in the industry. Apparently designers and stylists are now scrambling to find black outfits for the event.

Said BAFTA CEO Amanda Berry: “People are asking me, ‘Is everybody going to wear black?’ I don’t know the answer, but I assume that will now happen throughout the whole awards season. Look at how quickly it happened [at the Globes]. That was only a rumor a couple of weeks before, or a suggestion.”
