Shawn Mendes on Niall Horan and a future collaboration:"It will be true one day. We're really good friends and we hang out all the time, and we are always like, 'We should write a song,' and then we're planning on writing a song -- and then we just end up hanging out! It's better off that way because if there's a friendship, then the song comes easy. So, one day, I promise! I promise, guys."

The two also sang together "Mercy" off Shawn's latest album, behind the cut.

A second individual has come forward accusing porn star Topher DiMaggio of rape

$
0
0

  • Last week, gay porn star Tegan Zayne accused fellow performer Topher DiMaggio of rape, claiming that DiMaggio forced himself on him the night before the pair was to film a scene and ejaculated inside him "despite numerous pleas not to"

  • Now, a second individual (not in the porn industry) has come forward with allegations that DiMaggio raped him in 2016

  • The man, who has asked to remain anonymous "out of fear what might happen to him," says that he was enboldened to share his experience (transcribed in full below) after reading Zayne's statements and hopes that, in doing so, he will give others the confidence to come forward with their own experiences

  • "The way [Tegan] described that situation felt exactly how it went down that night, and if I could get anything out of this story, I just want to back him up. No, this isn’t random behavior, it didn’t come out of nowhere. I experienced similar behavior and action years ago, and I want to add my voice and see if there are others that say this happened to them or not.

"As a gay man you read stories and you think, “If I was ever in that situation, I would push the person off or tell them to stop, or it’d be someone I didn’t know.”

"But it was somebody that I knew. I had met Topher a few times. [He] put me in a situation where I felt powerless and felt like, even though I had said no, he continued. It’s a weird haze of “Well, this is happening and I can’t stop him, and I don’t know what to do” and you just kind of let it happen.

"So on that night in particular I went out with a couple of friends, and one of my friends is actually friends with Topher, and we went to go meet up with them at a bar. We were drinking and we left the bar and went to an afterparty.

"There were multiple people there, including my friends, and including Topher.

"Things went by, people left the party, and the next thing I remember is that I am alone with Topher in this place. I don’t know if I fell asleep and he woke me up, or how exactly I got into this position, but I was in the bedroom, I wasn’t wearing clothes, I was face-down, and he was trying to have sex with me.

"Personally, I am not a bottom. I bottom, but not often, and I wouldn’t bottom for this guy — I didn’t know him that well. I didn’t have feelings for him. I had no intention of hooking up with this guy. I go out, I have fun, I meet people, I make decisions about who I want to hookup with, but this is not somebody I wanted to hookup with, so being in this situation was very jarring. All of a sudden to catch yourself — you’re drunk, you’re in a haze, you’re naked with a person you don’t want to be naked with.

"And so I remember saying no, I don’t want to do this, and he said,
No, don’t worry about it, and that’s kind of exactly what he said to Tegan. He was like, No, it’s fine, don’t worry about it. He inserted himself inside of me and started to have sex with me.

"I said, Stop, no, this hurts, and he said, Just don’t worry about it. Don’t worry about it. And he kept going and going and going and I just remember saying no, please stop, no, please. And I remember … I could see it and feel it in my head. I could remember where I was, where my body was, the pain, where he was, and then he finished inside me.

    "And was like …
OK, well, what the fuck? I don’t know where I am, really. I’m stuck here. And then I woke up the next morning, not really knowing what was happening, sort of putting the pieces together. It wasn’t until I left and went home and I showered and I felt the pain and I was like, Holy shit, I need to go see a doctor.

"So I left and went to the hospital and told them that I was sexually assaulted by a porn star and I was terrified and I needed help. I wanted to get on PEP. I knew I had a 48-hour window.

"The doctor asked if I knew who it was. I said yes. She left the room. A couple minutes went by, she came back and said she had spoken to a police officer who was on duty and he was outside the exam room and he wanted my written statement.

"She told me that in order for her to do an exam to see what the damage was — cuts or bruises or scars — that I had to speak with the police officer. I told her I didn’t want to do that, so they didn’t perform an examination. They gave me 30 days of three different types of antiretrovirals for potential exposure to HIV.

"They gave me full blood panels for STIs. Everything came back fine, but I was on anti-HIV drugs for 30 days, which is its own kind of Hell.

"And that was it. I didn’t know what to do. I told people, who told me to go tell other people, to potentially go to the authorities. But I was frightened. I don’t know what this person is capable of.

"I don’t know what kind of retaliation could happen from a report. It’s probably incredibly over-the-top, but there was that case of those porn star guys that killed their producer. My real fear was that I didn’t know what this guy was capable of. I didn’t know if he had guns or if he was on drugs.

"I didn’t know if he had friends who have guns or were on drugs that would hurt me. I don’t know what the companies he works for would do in terms of retaliation if I went anywhere with this.

"So I kept it to myself. I was legitimately afraid, and still am. You just don’t know what people are capable of. Obviously he is abusive, because he raped me. Even though I told him it was painful and asked him to stop multiple times, he didn’t care.

"So I didn’t, and I learned to cope with it. I would still see him around and I wouldn’t talk to him. I’d see his picture up on ads, and it was always pretty painful. My close friends that I’ve told know what he did. And seeing [Tegan Zayne’s story] made me feel like I had to say something.

"Some people probably don’t believe me. They think it’s porn, it’s a pornstar, you probably just got too drunk or deep down wanted this or something. That absolutely wasn’t the case. I can tell you the amount of time I spent in tears, going to the hospital, going through the motions, getting the drugs, were not part of a larger fantasy.

    "It was criminal.

"And it just fucking sucked. I wished it didn’t happen. But now I feel responsibility to tell this story and help other people if they have their own stories to know that these things do happen.

"If I could talk to him, and he would actually listen, I would like to tell him that he hurt me and he did abuse me and did something that was wrong and to just apologize for what he did. That would probably go a long way. Because you feel like a lot of the time what happened was something that I did.

"It’s not that I did anything — it was done to me. That’s the hardest thing to break away from. You say,
What did I do wrong? How did I screw this up? when in reality the other person should be saying, I fucked up. I should have stopped when you said no, and I didn’t. And I’m sorry.

"Honestly, I would probably accept his apology. Doesn’t mean that we’re going to be friends, but an acknowledgement that you know what you did was fucked up and wrong."

  • DiMaggio has not returned requests for comment on these new allegations. In a now deleted tweet, he denied Zayne's allegations with a statement partially plagiarized from Russell Simmons' own statement denying allegations of sexual misconduct in the 'New York Times'

ONTD Original: When Bad Interviews Happen to Bad People

    $
    0
    0

Sometimes when a celebrity does an interview, they reveal a part of who they are that allows the public to connect with them human-to-human. They become relatable, likeable, and respected.

But sometimes a celebrity gives an interview and they open up in a way that makes it seem like they've completely forgotten that what they're saying is not only on record, but will be viewable by the public for years to come.

Erykah Badu recently let the world know that she, "saw something good in Hitler." Bono thought it wise to say that music these days is, "too girly" at a time when women continue to struggle to be represented on the charts and behind the scenes. A recent study highlighted that only 2% of hit pop music producers and 9.3% of Grammy nominees in the last 6 years are women, but maybe that's too many women for Bono (Glamour should revoke his "2016 woman of the year" status TBQH). And who could forget professional woman beater, Floyd Mayweather, and his recent comments on the #metoo movement in which he clearly didn't even know about the movement at all. Not surprising for a domestic abuser to pay no attention to an international movement against violence against women.

But this isn't even that bad! Below you'll find 4 examples of some terrible, annoying, non-fame-deserving people who have openly said some truly baffling things in the presence of a journalist. PR training couldn't even save these fools:

    1. Sean Connery Thinks Hitting Women is Fine

Barbara Walters questions Connery about a previous interview he gave in which he stated he didn't have a problem with men slapping women if it was warranted. What makes it warranted? Well, according to Connery, "If you have tried everything else, and women are pretty good at this, they can't leave it alone. They don't know when to have the last word, and you give them the last word, but they're not happy with the last word. They want to say it again and get into a really provocative situation. Then, I think it's absolutely right."

You hear that, ladies? Don't be too mouthy because it merits a violent reaction!

    2. The Chainsmokers Are in It for the Pussy

The Chainsmokers delivered a truly douche-brotastic interview with Billboard journalist, Chris Martins, back in September of 2016. ONTD had a field day over the interview, which you can revisit here.

    Select quotes include:

"It’s always ‘work hard, play hard,’” says Pall after a pull of vodka. “But you’ll never see us getting carried out of a club. We’re way too good at drinking."

"Now we’re influencing the industry, putting out songs everyone copies."

"Even before success, pussy was number one," says Pall. "Like, ‘Why am I trying to make all this money?’ I wanted to hook up with hotter girls. I had to date a model."

They also blame the MTV Video Music Awards for sabotaging their live vocals (you're not Mariah Carey, sis. You just can't sing!):

"It sounded like shit. We were told my voice was going to be mixed well, but there was no reverb and it was way louder than the track for the broadcast. I was set up to fail. Nearly every other person lip-synced it, and we knew because we had them in our ears. So now I know why you lip-sync."

You can read more at the source if you wish to roll your eyes so hard that your retinas detach.

    3. 5 Seconds of Summer (5SOS) Anger Fans, Halt Their Own Momentum

Remember when 5SOS seemed like they were becoming a thing? They had a couple of pop-rock tunes that started to take off because they were lucky enough to be the opening act for One Direction on tour.

What happens when you're a new band, with a solid fanbase of young women and girls (who, lets be honest here, are instrumental in driving pop culture) and are starting to get some airplay? You shit all over the women who helped build your career in the first place, that's what!

Read about the fallout from the interview on ONTD here.

    Pearls of wisdom include:

"Seventy-five percent of our lives is proving we're a real band," says Irwin. "We're getting good at it now. We don't want to just be, like, for girls. We want to be for everyone. That's the great mission that we have. I'm already seeing a few male fans start to pop up, and that's cool. If the Beatles and the Rolling Stones and all those guys can do it, we can do it, too."

"When you put four young dudes on a tour bus, playing theaters, then arenas, you're going to have sex with a lot of girls, I guess," says Hemmings. "We had a good time." Multiple girls in one night? "I feel like I shouldn't say," he says with a smirk. "You could say the possibility of that is high." Multiple girls at the same time? "The possibility is high," he says again. He cracks a devilish grin. "The possibilities are endless."

"I had all this attention from all these girls that would have never liked me in school, coming up to me and saying things, handing me numbers," says Hood. "It was like, 'Holy shit, fuck yeah!' I got a bit reckless."

You heard it from 5SOS - female fans can help push an artist into the mainstream, but female opinions aren't valid and a band only gains credibility once straight males get on board! But the female fans are necessary for sex, of course, not because they care about music. Good to know!

This interview took place at the end of 2015. So where are 5SOS now? Who cares.

    4. John Mayer Says He has a Racist Cock, But is Just Racist

Who could forget the iconic Playboy interview in which John Mayer said some truly insane things?

Mayer: Someone asked me the other day, “What does it feel like now to have a hood pass?” And by the way, it’s sort of a contradiction in terms, because if you really had a hood pass, you could call it a nigger pass. Why are you pulling a punch and calling it a hood pass if you really have a hood pass? But I said, “I can’t really have a hood pass. I’ve never walked into a restaurant, asked for a table and been told, ‘We’re full.’”

Playboy: It is true; a lot of rappers love you. You recorded with Common and Kanye West, played live with Jay-Z.

Mayer: What is being black? It’s making the most of your life, not taking a single moment for granted. Taking something that’s seen as a struggle and making it work for you, or you’ll die inside. Not to say that my struggle is like the collective struggle of black America. But maybe my struggle is similar to one black dude’s.

Playboy: Do black women throw themselves at you?

Mayer: I don’t think I open myself to it. My dick is sort of like a white supremacist. I’ve got a Benetton heart and a fuckin’ David Duke cock. I’m going to start dating separately from my dick.

The entire interview is insane and worth a read if you can stomach it.
