That whole endeavor was inherently troubled and problematic because I was obviously dealing with loss and grief, and very personal problems. In that case, I think the art failed me; the music didn’t solve anything, or answer any questions, or resolve any conflicts—death is finite. I don’t regret anything and I wouldn’t do anything differently, but the fact of the matter is, what really got me through it was allowing it to heal through time. The music itself didn’t offer any solutions.

Orlando Brown arrested after Family Dispute

- Cops were called to the former 'That's So Raven' stars apartment after he, his girlfriend and her mother got into a heated argument.
- Apparently they already had an active warrant for both him and the girlfriend's mother in the system.
- The warrant was from when he allegedly struck his girlfriend in a police parking lot last year. Its unclear if the girlfriend he was arguing with is that same girl.
- He was taken to jail on battery, resisting arrest & possession of a controlled substance.

Padmaavat Roundup: Reviews and Soundtrack

The much anticipated Bollywood film, Padmaavat, is set to open tomorrow on January 25, 2018. Reviews for the film have been released and are mostly positive.






- DNA India gives it a 4 out of 5.




- Bollywood Hungama gives it a 4.5 out of 5.





- Koimoi gives it a 4 out of 5.




- Times of India gives it a 4 out of 5.




- Filmfare gives it a 3.5 out of 5.




- Rajeev Masand gives it a 3.5 out of 5.








- Firstpost gives it a 1 out of 5.








- NDTV gives it a 1.5 out of 5.



Overall, the film's reviews are positive. The general consensus about the movie's strengths seem to be:

- The acting is top notch. Ranveer as Alauddin Khilji gives the best performance in the film followed by Deepika as Padmavati. Shahid as Ratan Singh is good too, but is the weak link out of the three. Jim Sarbh is great as Malik Kafur, and Aditi Rao Hydari as Mehrunisa makes a strong impression despite having such a small role.

- The Music is nice.

- The visuals, costumes, and sets are beautiful.

- The second half of the film is dramatic and entertaining.

Some criticisms include:

- The writing is weak.

- The film gets a little preachy with its praise of Rajputs.

- The "good Hindu, bad Muslim" trope is heavily used in the film and doesn't help the current socio-political climate in India. Khilji isn't portrayed with any nuance. He's shown as an over-the-top barbarian down to the maniacal laughter, animalistic way he eats his food, roving eyes, and blood thirst. The Rajputs, in contrast, are basically deified.

- It is biphobic/homophobic. Alauddin Khilji was documented to be bisexual in real life and possibly had relations with Malik Kafur, and the movie hints at this. However, the film tries to depict Khilji's sexual orientation as something negative, and it is made fun of a couple of times. Ratan Singh's courtiers in the movie describe Malik Kafur as Khilji's "begum" (it's a title usually given to married Muslim women in Central and South Asia).

- The film can get regressive and misogynistic with its message. Some of the critics felt that it (albeit unintentionally) glorifies the archaic act of jauhar (mass self-immolation). In the jauhar scene, there is also a pregnant woman and a small child shown getting ready to jump in the fire.

CBS orders "Murphy Brown" revival with star Candice Bergen returning

CBS has given a 13 episode order to a current day revival of Murphy Brown. Murphy Brown returns to a world of cable news, social media, fake news and a very different political and cultural climate.
Star Candice Bergen will return in the titular role.
The original show aired from 1988 to 1998 on CBS.

• Promoting Schitt's Creek in the United States which premieres tonight at 8pm on Pop TV.

• Explains his "Order of Canada" pin/badge and that it is the second highest honour for merit in the system of orders, decorations, and medals of Canada (highest for a civilian for their contributions).

• Says the Canadian Government could never shut down. That the number of apologies alone would go on for years.

• CBS makes Colbert/the show put up the "Schitt's Creek" logo on the screen every time "Schitt" is said to prove that is is in fact the name of a man/real show.

• Eugene explains that Schitt's Creek isn't specifically in Canada or any other country. They don't ever disclose where they are. "It is what it is," he adds.

Jesse Williams' Estranged Wife Says He Introduced Kids to His GF

Jesse Williams’s estranged wife Aryn Drake-Lee is accusing the actor of violating their custody agreement.
She claims he introduced their two kids to his new girlfriend, taking them to her house since October. The kids call the woman “Mama C.” 
She notes that Williams took their kids to Big Bear Mountain for a short getaway and the new girlfriend was present.
She accuses him of being lax about other things.
She is requesting that a judge enact a more fixed, fair schedule for when he has his visits and how he has them.
A source close to the couple claims that Drake-Lee is lying because of her desire to be seen as the victim.

Italian and French versions of SKAM are just around the corner

Hit Norwegian teen show SKAM was sold to 5 European countries at the end of its run in June 2017. Productions of all versions are slowly starting to take shape, with the Italian and French version being the first to start their own run. The first season of the Italian version was filmed at the end of last year and is rumored to start in March, while the first two seasons of the French version have reported already been filmed and might already start at the end of this month. The Dutch version is set to start in the fall of 2018, while there has been no word so far on Spain and Germany.

Meanwhile, creator of the Norwegian version Julie Andem has taken practically her entire crew to Austin to start the production on SHAME, the US version of SKAM.

‘History Of Them’: Brett Dier Set To Star In CBS’ Multi-Cultural Comedy Pilot

Jane the Virgin fan favorite Brett Dier has been tapped as the male lead opposite Ana Villafañe in CBS' comedy pilot History of Them.
From One Day at a Time co-creator/executive producer Gloria Calderon-Kellett.

"The semi-autobiographical History of Them is a multi-cultural (Latinx & white) ensemble that revolves around two friends, Luna (Villafañe) and Adam (Dier), and how they fell in love, using the couple’s social media (Instagram/Twitter/FB) as a guide."

New Details About Garrison Keillor Sexual Harassment Allegations: 60 Women Come Forward

This story has sort of been buried by zillions of other allegations, but Garrison Keillor was fired from NPR for inappropriate sexual conduct in November.

When NPR fired him, he claimed that one woman was exaggerating in order to personally victimize him. He wrote this lie statement:

"I put my hand on a woman's bare back. I meant to pat her back after she told me about her unhappiness and her shirt was open and my hand went up it about six inches. She recoiled. I apologized. I sent her an email of apology later and she replied that she had forgiven me and not to think about it. We were friends. We continued to be friendly right up until her lawyer called."

Since then, OVER 60 PEOPLE OVER SEVERAL YEARS have come forward alleging that he sexually harassed them during his time as a radio host.



-He had an affair with a female subordinate, then paid her $16,000 and had her sign an NDA to prevent her from ever revealing it

-He wrote a sexually explicit limerick about a female employee at his bookstore and publicly posted it

-A female producer who was fired from The Writer's Almanac said that he discriminated against her age, bullied her, humiliated her and replaced her with a younger woman

-He emailed his 21-year-old college student to say that he had "intense attraction" to her. He was then her writing professor.

-Over several years, he sent several dozen sexually explicit emails to a subordinate female coworker

Sting and Shaggy made an entire album together and are releasing it on 4/20

-Their new LP is called 44/876 and it's coming out on 4/20 via Interscope Records.

-“The most important thing to me in any kind of music is surprise,” Sting said in a recent Rolling Stone profile of the collaboration. “And everybody is surprised by this collaboration – by what they’re hearing. We’re surprising.”

-They were introduced though Sting’s manager who happens to be Shaggy’s former A&R executive. Sting was impressed by some in-development Shaggy songs, and randomly walked into the studio one day singing the hook from a new song. Shaggy told Rolling Stone, “Once he cosigned it, I was like, “Fuck, I was right! The god says it’s a hit!” [lmao k]
