- When the interviewer asks him if he'd be willing to take a pay cut to equal it out, he got offended and said "A pay cut!? No. No. That's going too far."

'Entertainment Weekly' Angers 'Walking Dead' Fans by putting Daryl on Their Cover, Again

0
0

Entertainment Weekly probably expected praise from The Walking Dead's remaining ten million or so US viewers when they unveiled their latest cover, which features Norman Reedus' Daryl, long considered the show's most popular character.

But fans weren't having it, seeing as this issue is touting the midseason premiere in which original character Carl, the son of series protagonist Rick Grimes, will say his farewell after revealing that he was bitten by a walker in the midseason finale.

Daryl and Carl have had almost no interaction during their eight seasons together on the show, and viewers angrily let the magazine know that Daryl didn't belong on this cover.

18-year-old Chandler Riggs, who has played Carl since he was ten years old, has had the majority of his scenes with Andrew Lincoln and Danai Gurira, who play Carl's father Rick Grimes and Rick's lover/Carl's surrogate mother Michonne. Together with baby Judith, their characters have been known to fans as "Grimes 2.0" since becoming a family after the death of Carl and Judith's mother Lori.

Adding to fan anger is the fact that Michonne isn't even mentioned in the description of the cover article on EW's website, but Daryl is:

"EW looks at the decision to kill Carl and what it means for those who live on — like Rick, Daryl, and Maggie — in our latest Walking Dead cover story."

Some of the comments on Entertainment Weekly's website:

People sent tweets to EW executive editor Dalton Ross, too:

Today, EW responded to the backlash by hastily throwing up a Carl Grimes banner atop their Twitter page.

Tonya Harding gets dumped by agent/publicist

0

Tonya Harding's longtime agent and publicist Michael Rosenberg has finally gotten tired of her shit and has terminated his business relationship with the former figure skater.

Rosenberg dumped Harding after she would not back down from demanding that reporters sign an affidavit banning them from asking about her past or else face a $25,000 fine.

He mentions that he's had "fun" creating a new positive image for Harding during the press tour/awards campaigning for I, Tonya. Too bad that postive image has yet to show itself (and probably never will).

Mark Wahlberg threatened to block Christopher Plummer from All the Money in the World reshoots

  • The reason Wahlberg was paid $1.5 while his co-star and co-lead Michelle Williams was paid about $80 a day was because his contract included a clause that he was able to approve co-stars

  • The costs of re-shoots were included in his original contract however Wahlberg threatened to not approve Plummer if he wasn't paid extra

  • Plummer was brought on to replace Kevin Spacey after allegations that Spacey had molested and groped young boys came to light

  • Williams, Plummer and director Ridley Scott were all eventually nominated for Golden Globes for their work on the film

  • Director Ridley Scott initially told journalists during the press tour that all the actors had agreed to re-shoot their scenes. He now feels "betrayed and angry" that Wahlberg requested and was granted so much money

Dan Harmon Admits He Sexually Harassed 'Community' Writer

0

Community creator and showrunner Dan Harmon (who now runs Rick and Morty) apologized to writer Megan Ganz, who had responded to his New Year's resolution to become "not as asshole" by accusing him of sexually harassing her during the run of the show and making her doubt her talent as a writer because of it. He claimed at the time to be regretful but not to have a clear memory of what had happened:

Harmon's memory appears to have suddenly come back, as he apologized again to Ganz on his Harmontown podcast yesterday, admitting he sexually harassed her and treated her badly when she rejected his advances:

“I was attracted to a writer that I had power over because I was a showrunner. I knew enough to know that these feelings were bad news. That was easy enough to know. I knew that they ran the risk of undercutting people’s faith in my judgement, her faith in her talent, the other writers’ respect for me, the entire production, the audience. I knew that I wasn’t doing anybody any favors by feeling these things."

He admitted that he accused others of being sexist or jealous when they called his behavior inappropriate.

He told Ganz that he loved her. She rejected him.

“I drank, I took pills, I crushed on her and resented her for not reciprocating it. And the entire time I was the one writing her paychecks and in control of whether she stayed or went, and whether she felt good about herself or not. I said horrible things, just treated her cruelly, pointedly. Things I would’ve never ever done if she had been male or if I didn’t have those feelings for her.

“I lost my job. I ruined my show. I betrayed the audience. I destroyed everything. And I damaged her internal compass. I will never do it again and I should never have done it before but I certainly never would have been able to do it had I had any respect for women.”

Ganz listened to the podcast and responded on Twitter:

Trailer for 'Before We Vanish'

In his twentieth film, acclaimed horror director Kiyoshi Kurosawa reinvents the alien movie as a unique and profoundly human tale of love and mystery. Three aliens travel to Earth on a reconnaissance mission in preparation for a mass invasion. Having taken possession of human bodies, the visitors rob the hosts of their essence – good, evil, property, family, belonging – leaving only hollow shells, which are all but unrecognizable to their loved ones. Equally hilarious, thrilling, and profound, BEFORE WE VANISH reminds audiences of the continued strength of one of Japanese cinema's most unique auteurs – and the value of the human spirit.

After years of personal setbacks and anticipation, it appears Sky Ferreira is at last gearing up for a comeback. Just weeks after teasing an upcoming visual EP in an interview with FADER, the singer-songwriter has taken to Instagram to share what she says is "the official first photo from [her] upcoming music release." The image, captured by Sandy Kim (likely around the same time of the frequent collaborators' Playboy shoot in late 2016) is said to be unedited, and Ferreira projected a February/March release time for the EP.
