CBB Day 11: Men vs. Women

$
0
0

-It is officially Men vs. Women

-The men and women are turned into 1950s husbands and wives, the women first must cook breakfast for their men before it is revealed to them that the women will be going to work just like the guys and competing directly against the lads with BB providing the women with pre-cooked food for the women to give to the men. India thinks this is sexist since BB is "helping" them win.

-The men lose the first part the challenge. Women lose the 2nd challenge.

-The men talk about sexual harassment. Shane J. is of course perfection.

-Ashley is confused about her feelings for Ginuwine but does not want a showmance. Everyone discusses the chemistry between Ashley and Ginuwine. A & G get their flirt on through the window as G goes to bed.

-Andrew and India talk about designer vaginas. India had over 10,000 vaginas to choose to mirror her own to. India was very happy with her vagina, Andrew likes a little bit of lip.

-India thinks that the girls have their own click that she isnt part of, though she knows she is partially to blame.

Throwback Thursday: 5 Times Our Faves Brought Back their Debut Looks

$

Within our sad world obsessed with youth, it's been a trend in stan world to compile side-by-side pics of your favorite performers to see how they have been aging or remained the same. As superficial as it is, it brings #thegays back to when their faves were starting to prosper at one point of their career. Here are some moments where these acts snatched us by purposely or inadvertently taking a trip down memory lane.

1. Genie in a Bottle

Legend X is truly the chameleon of pop 2nd to Madonna in both aesthetic, attitude, and accent wise. However, she has expressed many times how tired she was playing up to the soft girl-next-door look in her early days which led us to the #epic experimental, culture vulture era of Stripped where she really let loose with her image. Her usual go-to makeup is a three-tier caked up look with red lips, but she brought us back #Genie vibes on the 5th season of The Voice and tbh, she might as well pretend she was a new artist again after Lotus (but #JusticeForYourBody).

2. The Fame Ball Tour

ARTPOP was an interesting career trajectory for Gaga to say the least. She expressed how she'll always evolve and how she wanted to be #everyicon, so in the VMA Applause performance, she dedicated her first Fame Ball Tour look with a watered-down, Vegas Farewell tour-esque ensemble that does not match up to the original (which is fitting since she has signed a residency contract for Vegas later this year #LasGagas [also no shade to Cher]). We'll miss blonde-fringe, hair bow, and shoulder pad Gaga from time to time #GiveMeTheThingThatILove#PutYourHandsUp.

3. Fearless Tour

Controversial snake queen attempted to reclaim her #reputation that has developed in her already decade-long career. Here for the Look What You Made Me Do (what did she do?) video, she pulled a look right from the archive of her debut tour for Fearless where she used to be the country-bumpkin type. Sorry she can't come to the phone right now... why?.... cuz she's deadL0LomGz! xD

4. Mariah Carey

Skinny Legend has many meta moments, and this is one of them. For her campaign for Weight WatchersMemoirs of an Imperfect Angel, Mimi had a shoot that was a look back (or a memoir, if u will) to iconic looks including her ST era and Butterfly. She has proven she'll always bounce back - with her Emancipation, Emancipation 2.0, and #Triumphant performance on New Year's Eve 2017. To this day she's still skinny, f*ck blue lives, and she still looks You're MineEternally twelve.

5. Crazy in Love

Bey had y'all FOOLIN' with new material in 2013, teasing Bow Down and Grown Woman - which was used for her Pepsi endorsement... but in the end it the worth the wait for the groundbreaking ST. She paid a direct homage to her legendary career in the commercial revisiting several other looks from music videos, including Bootylicious, Single Ladies, and her debut single Crazy in Love which featured an aspiring rapper.

It's another meta post from moi. Anymore examples of this?

'Entertainment Weekly' Angers 'Walking Dead' Fans by putting Daryl on Their Cover, Again

$

Entertainment Weekly probably expected praise from The Walking Dead's remaining ten million or so US viewers when they unveiled their latest cover, which features Norman Reedus' Daryl, long considered the show's most popular character.

But fans weren't having it, seeing as this issue is touting the midseason premiere in which original character Carl, the son of series protagonist Rick Grimes, will say his farewell after revealing that he was bitten by a walker in the midseason finale.

Daryl and Carl have had almost no interaction during their eight seasons together on the show, and viewers angrily let the magazine know that Daryl didn't belong on this cover.

18-year-old Chandler Riggs, who has played Carl since he was ten years old, has had the majority of his scenes with Andrew Lincoln and Danai Gurira, who play Carl's father Rick Grimes and Rick's lover/Carl's surrogate mother Michonne. Together with baby Judith, their characters have been known to fans as "Grimes 2.0" since becoming a family after the death of Carl and Judith's mother Lori.

Adding to fan anger is the fact that Michonne isn't even mentioned in the description of the cover article on EW's website, but Daryl is:

"EW looks at the decision to kill Carl and what it means for those who live on — like Rick, Daryl, and Maggie — in our latest Walking Dead cover story."

Some of the comments on Entertainment Weekly's website:

People sent tweets to EW executive editor Dalton Ross, too:

Today, EW responded to the backlash by hastily throwing up a Carl Grimes banner atop their Twitter page.

Tonya Harding gets dumped by agent/publicist

Tonya Harding's longtime agent and publicist Michael Rosenberg has finally gotten tired of her shit and has terminated his business relationship with the former figure skater.

Rosenberg dumped Harding after she would not back down from demanding that reporters sign an affidavit banning them from asking about her past or else face a $25,000 fine.

He mentions that he's had "fun" creating a new positive image for Harding during the press tour/awards campaigning for I, Tonya. Too bad that postive image has yet to show itself (and probably never will).

Mark Wahlberg threatened to block Christopher Plummer from All the Money in the World reshoots

  • The reason Wahlberg was paid $1.5 while his co-star and co-lead Michelle Williams was paid about $80 a day was because his contract included a clause that he was able to approve co-stars

  • The costs of re-shoots were included in his original contract however Wahlberg threatened to not approve Plummer if he wasn't paid extra

  • Plummer was brought on to replace Kevin Spacey after allegations that Spacey had molested and groped young boys came to light

  • Williams, Plummer and director Ridley Scott were all eventually nominated for Golden Globes for their work on the film

  • Director Ridley Scott initially told journalists during the press tour that all the actors had agreed to re-shoot their scenes. He now feels "betrayed and angry" that Wahlberg requested and was granted so much money

- As most of you know Natalie Portman took her shot @ the Golden Globes introducing the Best Director category as "all-male nominees"

- Even though Guillermo looked taken aback/slightly annoyed (OP's perception) @ Natalie's shade, he came out in support of her via email

- He said he has no mixed feelings about her decision and thought it was great, and she should say exactly what she feels

- Also says there's phenomenal work being done by female directors such as Greta Gerwig (Lady Bird), Dee Rees (Mudbound), and Patty Jenkins (Wonder Woman), saying they're all terrific

- He predicts the Oscar this year will go to a woman

Bryan Fuller set to adapt "The Vampire Chronicles" for TV

$

Bryan Fuller of American Gods, Star Trek Discovery Hannibal and Pushing Daisies will help bring the vampire Lestat to TV.

Partnering with Paramount Television and Anonymous Content to create a show that will focus on the journey of the vampire Lestat as he travels the world based on The Vampire Chronicles.

Christopher shares a funny story about Bryan Fuller wanting to do a film adaption of The Vampire Chronicles. Sometime in the 1980’s, a young teenager from Washington State, who dreamed of working in Hollywood one day, decided it was his destiny to write a film adaptation of a novel called INTERVIEW WITH THE VAMPIRE. So that teenager did what any resourceful, gifted and determined young person would do in such an instance; he got a copy of the San Francisco phone book and checked to see if the novel’s author had a listed phone number.
It turns out she did. To his astonishment, the author, my mother Anne Rice, answered the phone herself when he called, and when this young man declared his intentions to adapt her book for the big screen, she gave him the number of the producer in Hollywood who owned the rights. Naturally, the producer’s response was something along the lines of, “You’re too young, kid. Go hone your talent. Maybe someday.”

ONTD Original: Taylor Swift's transforming style over the past decade

$
0
0
Over the past decade, country-turned-pop star Taylor Swift has gradually shifted her style multiple times.  There are some trends that appear over and over (the Martha Stewart-look she likes), but mostly she changes it up when she releases a new album.

Warning: Image Heavy
Part I: Delicate
Side bangs, curls, beautiful gowns, beautiful gowns

"I have blonde eyelashes and blonde eyebrows, so my typical insecurity is that my eyes go away when I don't have makeup on."

At the beginning of her career, Taylor wore a lot of flouncy dresses, cowboy boots, and cute t-shirts. Sometimes she looked her age (16) and sometimes she looked like she was playing dress up.

Taylor Part II: State of Grace
Blunt bangs, straight hair, more sleek, cute dresses, retro clothing, high-waisted shorts

"Style is such a personal thing. It is your way to be an individual."

Beginning in 2010, Taylor became more conscious about her fashion, choosing more sleek dresses. She also began wearing bolder makeup and pulled her hair back occasionally. By 2012, her hair was pretty much always straightened, and she began making riskier and revealing choices with her clothes. In her personal life, she switched it up. Sometimes she looked like stepped out of a J Crew catalogue, and other days she was going for a retro look to fit in with the Kennedys.

Taylor Part III: Begin Again
Shorter locks, fuller fringe, more pastel and lighter colors

"When I'm getting dressed, it's always based on what my friends with think. They are my number one priority, and the opinions of girls are more important to me at this point in my life."

In 2014, Taylor's look was much more sophisticated. She cut her hair shorter and shorter and chose gowns that flattered her figure. Out and about, she was often spotted wearing crop tops & short skirts, carrying high-end purses, and ready for a workout.

Taylor Part IV: Fearless (about her Fashion)
Taylor begins experimenting with her hair color, continues wearing sunglasses that look like they were on clearance at Forever 51, and her clothes are all over the place.

"I like shirts and sweaters that fall off the shoulder or plaid button-ups."

Honestly, not quite sure what is going on here.  Her hair improves after her relationship with Hiddleston begins.

Taylor Part IV: Treacherous

Darker lipstick, medium-length chop, thick bangs, looser clothing, high-waisted shorts

"I find it relatively easy to keep my clothes on because I don't really feel like taking them off," said Swift. "It's not an urge I have."

This year, Taylor is hiding in suitcases, so it's difficult to see what she's wearing day-to-day. However, the new look she's using for "Reputation" pretty much speaks for itself.
