CAA Signs “Carmen Sandiego” Stars Gina Rodriguez & Finn Wolfhard Following Their APA Exits

CAA has signed Golden Globe-winning actress Gina Rodriguez (Jane the Virgin) and SAG Award winner Finn Wolfhard (Stranger Things), who together lead the voice cast of the animated Carmen Sandiego series that will debut on Netflix in 2019.

Rodriguez and Wolfhard had both been represented by APA when Wolfhard's agent, Tyler Grasham, was accused by multiple men of sexual harassment and assault, including inappropriate behavior with a minor. Wolfhard left APA on Oct. 20 in the wake of those disturbing allegations, and Grasham was subsequently fired by the agency later that day.

Meanwhile, Rodriguez's longtime manager at Primary Wave, David Guillod, was accused of drugging and raping actress Jessica Barth (a former client), prompting the Jane the Virgin star to reevaluate her representation and ultimately part ways with both Primary Wave and APA (where she’d been represented by well-respected agent Carlos Carreras since 2012) in early November.

Rodriguez is preparing for a major year, as not only does she co-star alongside Natalie Portman in Alex Gardland's sci-fi movie Annihilation, but she's also the lead in Sony's remake of the acclaimed Mexican thriller Miss Bala. Rodriguez is also busy developing several TV shows as a producer, and she recently segued behind the camera to direct an episode of Jane the Virgin.

Wolfhard just enjoyed a hell of a year between the second season of Stranger Things on Netflix and the stunning global success of New Line's It. In addition, Wolfhard's band Calpurnia had also signed a label deal with Royal Mountain Records back in November to record an upcoming EP produced by Twin Peaks' Cadien Lake James. The up-and-coming young actor just booked Amblin's haunted house movie The Turning, which will pair him with Mackenzie Davis and Brooklynn Prince.

In Carmen Sandiego, Rodriguez will voice the title character, and Wolfhard will voice Player, her friend and accomplice. The actress is no stranger to animated projects, having lent her voice to the recent holidays releases The Star and Ferdinand.

Both Rodriguez and Wolfhard continue to be represented by attorney Karl Austen, while Wolfhard remains managed by Velocity Entertainment Partners. The Hollywood Reporter broke the news of both signings.

Emily Ratajkowski just got in hot water over her new hair campaign

Emily Ratajkowski was just announced as the new face (and hair!) of Kérastase Paris. 
Posting the black-and-white campaign image, she wrote: "Hair is a fundamental part of beauty, femininity, and identity. So excited to announce that I am the new face of @kerastase_official!"

The model was accused of shaming and offending the millions of women who suffer from hair loss.

The model has since changed the caption on her Instagram to: "So excited to announce that I am the new face of @kerastase_official ! Welcome good hair days."

the brand Kérastase issued an apology :
"We are deeply sorry about that, we didn’t want to cause any harm to anyone with the caption. Of course beauty is not defined by your hair, beauty is something more spiritual, beauty is an attitude coming from inside each of us. Our new muse, Emily, thinks that her hair is a way to express herself. As she said, 'Everyone is uniquely beautiful in their own way; and we agree. We apologise for the misunderstanding of our previous caption because it seems like we were making a one-way statement, forgetting the rest of the multiple variations of beauty. We honestly tell you we’re very sorry and thanks for your testimony because through it we are learning everyday."

Actor Johnathon Schaech: I Was Molested by Director Franco Zeffirelli

Actor Johnathon Schaech is accusing director Franco Zeffirelli of molesting him when they filmed their 1993 movie 'Sparrow.'

“[Then], one night, I think it was when we were at a hotel in Sicily and my costar wasn’t there, he told me he was coming to my room. This time he had managed to get a key…There was a moment where I was telling him “No” and he told me, “We have to.” I remember his breath smelling of Scotch. And this is the whole thing, and you hear it from the women who are opening up now about their own experiences with abuse: There’s a moment where, even though you are taught to be charming and have sex appeal as an actor, a line is crossed and everything changes. When someone crosses that line, when someone preys on you, there’s a panic that sets in. That’s what Franco did. He crossed that boundary and I felt as though I left my body. He molested me in my bed. He put his hands in places that I couldn’t even imagine and he did things that I am not proud of. But it’s not my fault. His pants never came off but I can [still] see him fumbling with his belt. He attempted to give me oral sex. I just remember being like, ‘God, please no. I’m OK, I’m OK.’ I did nothing. I just lay there in bed. It felt like 4 hours but it was probably like 30 seconds,” “I was vulnerable. I didn’t scream and yell. I didn’t physically stop him, and it took me 25 years to answer the question why not. There’s a moment when someone is being violated by a predator where it is a clear form of violence that creates trauma in the body. We have a fight or flight response. People say they ‘leave their bodies’ and that’s what I did. When it was obvious Franco wasn’t getting what he wanted that night, he just left. He never tried to touch me again. I told him not to come near me again. He never said anything about it. For the predator who crosses the line they think that it’s OK.”

In a sneak peak of the interview airing tomorrow on WKTU's Cubby and Carolina In The Morning, Camila Cabello talks hanging out backstage at a radio concert with Taylor Swift and her famous pals, Ryan Reynolds and Blake Lively.

She says, "Omg I was so awkward around Ryan Reynolds and Blake Lively. I was really stupid. I-I was just became I was just like *makes funny noise* I was like, I was so I just got really nervous cause I wasn’t expecting for them to be there. And I love Ryan, I love, you know I've seen 'Dead Pool' and you know I just love his movies, I watched his movie the day before. What was the one that was like uh 'Definitely Maybe', with the little girl. Yea, and obviously Blake Lively is a queen. And I love them together uhm, but they were super cool. Yea well, Ed (Sheeran) and Taylor (Swift) I’ve known for awhile, so I'm like, you know, they’re my friends, but uhm yea I just wasn't expecting for them to be there and I just got kind of weird, I was like 'why are you so weird, stop being weird'"

Dame Helen Mirren discovers she's actually a year younger on The Ellen Show

During an interview with Dame Helen Mirren, Ellen praised her for not being shy about sharing her real age of 72. Helen corrected her that she's actually 73, but Ellen told her that she calculated her age wrong and is actually 72.
Ellen asked her if she's invited to the Royal Wedding as she played the Queen and they would know of her, but she says that she isn't.
Asked her if she would consider playing the Queen in future seasons of The Crown but Helen says she's done with that.
Helen says that she enjoys watching Silicon Valley, Stranger Things and whodunnit shows.
Is most thankful about her compost heap and GPS. She is apparently bewildered by advances in technology.

Paul has lost his Google Preferred ad deal, a lucrative pipeline that “offers brand advertisers access to the most popular YouTube channels.”



An upcoming YouTube Red movie project that Paul was due to star in, The Thinning: New World Order, has been put on hold. He has also been cut from Foursome, a YouTube Red comedy series.

Harper's Magazine was going to release an article doxxing the creators and accusers on the Shitty Men in Media list, but director and former World Karate and Kickboxing Champion Lexi Alexander beat them to the punch with a tweet.

Hours after she tweeted, her twitter page is now gone.

Johnny Weir, retired figure skater and current NBC figure skating commentator, tweeted that he is over the glamorization of Tonya Harding after "I, Tonya" was released and that he stands with Nancy Kerrigan.

Patrick Chan did an interview with NBC Olympic Talk. He says that his main goal for the 2018 Olympics is the team gold. He also says that he is the only current figure skater that can offer both technique and artistry and that he may be the last.

* Interviewed by phone from Sweden, where he is traveling with 'Pod Save America' and 'Lovett or Leave It" podcaster Jon Lovett, to whom THR says "he has been linked romantically". Ronan says only that the two have been "close in recent years".

* Talks about spending four years in a wheelchair and on crutches after contracting a bone infection in his leg in the Sudan when he was 16 and enduring multiple surgeries. He had to go to law school in MC Hammer pants because nothing else fit over his apparatus.

* Was told by attorneys, agents and publicist to drop his investigation into Harvey Weinstein. "Mysterious men" followed him and he was approached by the same undercover female Black Cube agent who befriended Rose McGowan under false pretenses. He had to move out of his Manhattan apartment because it became too risky. CAA Agent Bryan Lourd (Billie's father and Carrie Fisher's ex) tried to set up a meeting between him and Weinstein, which is in part why he fired CAA as his agents.

* On how his family history (including allegations by his sister Dylan that she was molested as a child by their father Woody Allen) informed his choice to investigate:

“You see early in life with that kind of a family background the way in which the most powerful men in America wield power for good and for ill. And probably, yes, the family background made me someone who understood the abuse of power from an early age.

I had to decide over the course of the previous year, as my sister was stalwart in her commitment to reiterating her allegations, what I was going to do about it … I was cornered into looking at all the evidence and realizing, ‘Oh s—t, this is credible, this is real, I can’t avoid this. It put me in a position where I felt it would have been unethical for me to not respond. And the intensity of the backlash I got gave me some understanding of what many survivors were up against.

Woody Allen, legally, ethically, personally was absolutely a father in our family...We have had contact over the years, but he is not someone that I keep up with regularly...It’s not for me to say what Hollywood will or won’t do. I will say that in every industry there are still powerful men facing credible allegations of wrongdoing who continue to evade accountability. As empowering a moment as this moment is, there’s still a long way to go.”

BTS Make History (Again) On the U.S. Billboard Charts and Other News

Here's some good news to brighten up your day, ONTD.


BTS's "MIC Drop Remix" make U.S. history chart on HOT100 after their well received New Year Rockin Eve performance. This makes BTS the longest charting Korean act on Billboard Hot 100 for six weeks with Mic Drop Remix rising 16 spots and the best & longest charting Korean act on BB 200 for 13 weeks Love Yourself HER rising 34 spots on the Billboard 200.

With BTS's comeback looming (estimated March?) I'm curious to see how much they sell with all the new fans they've acquired over the past 2 months. #1 on BB20 will be pretty easy. A gold certification is maybe even possible. Top 10 in BB100 will be very, very difficult. Even popular songs struggle #dualipanewrules.

BTS is featured in Silicon Valley's newest trailer.

Gay porn star Conner Habib has called "The Love Witch" filmmaker Anna Biller a "SWERF," which is short for Sex Worker Exclusionary Radical Feminist, following tweets she made about porn star Linda Lovelace.

In her initial tweet, Anna Biller wrote "Whenever people get misty-eyed about the 'golden age of porn,' I can't help but think of the experience of Linda Lovelace, the first porn star."

Conner Habib replied to her, sending Anna Biller a link to an article explaining why Linda Lovelace isn't a porn star, which is when the two started to argue on Twitter.
