Millie Bobby Brown didn't walk the red carpet with her Stranger Things castmates and people noticed

0
0

- She walked with them at last year's awards shows, but since starting promo for Season 2, she's been separated.
- Arrived an hour later, and by that time the other kids had already walked the red carpet, separately and together, and done interviews together.
- People noted that she wasn't nominated individually this year, so the decision to be separate is strange.

Made a post because it was a ~topic of conversation in the red carpet post. Just to be clear (not that it needs to be said, but), the decision to have her separating from her castmates during these types of events is her team's decision.

HFPA honors Time's Up by giving alleged rapist and known sexist, Kirk Douglas, a tribute

0

- Kirk Douglas allegedly raped Natalie Wood when she was 14 and has bragged about groping women in his memoir. Tonight, the audience at the Golden Globes gave Douglas a standing ovation and the HFPA paid tribute to a man who bragged about sexual assault. During the red carpet and throughout the show, celebrities gave themselves a pat on the back for wearing black and calling out the glaring disparities between white men and women in the industry. While they did that, they also awarded and celebrated trash men like Kirk Douglas and Gary Oldman. The audience was also mute when Seth Meyers made a joke about Woody Allen.

Blind Item Time: Shit Just Got Real Edition (and a Reveal)

[CDAN] I wouldn't expect to see this in the news, young, half foreign political couple end up at the altar. There are far too many whispers that one or both will be dead in the not too distant future. From an accident of course.

Most think it's either George Papadopoulos (30 y.o.) & fiancée Simona Mangiante (29 y.o.) or Prince Harry (33 y.o) & Meghan Markle (36 y.o)

[CDAN Reveal] This B+ list mostly television actress on a very long running cable show is in danger of losing that A++ list boyfriend. Apparently one time she yachted for a best friend of the A++ lister. The man who paid her for the yachting had no idea she is the girlfriend of the A++ lister and thought the A++ lister wanted to hire the actress for yachting purposes. Awkward.

Hollywood Women Fear Backlash For Sexual Harassment & Sexual Assault Accusers

0
0

Deadline Hollywood reports that women in the business fear backlash against the ones who initiate allegations of sexual harassment or sexual assault against A-list men - at the studios, networks and agencies.

- One producer says what we are seeing is just a fraction of the reality. She believes it will ultimately stay small because Hollywood is a boy's town and they will do whatever they can to keep their power. Has suspicions of opportunistic behavior in allegations.

- An award-winning showrunner thinks its all lip service from the men. Says there are women staying quiet, afraid they are keeping lists to punish later.

- They are glad for Time's Up but one agent says we haven't heard allegations from network/studio executives, showrunners and agents - mostly women who aren't big name actresses or producers - because they are all afraid.

- One actress believes standing up to harassment has replaced diversity as the current topic of concern, and it will be substituted for another issue once award season is over.

Lana Del Rey disses Donald Trump with lyric changes during her LA to The Moon Tour

Lana Del Rey began her "LA to The Moon Tour" on January 5, 2018 at the Target Center in Minneapolis, Minnesota.

While performing her song "When the World was at War, We Kept Dancing", Lana Del Rey changed a few of the lyrics and dissed Stable Genius (aka the current President of the United States, Donald Trump) while doing so.

Original lyrics:
"Boys, don't forget your toys
And take all of your money
If you find you're in a foreign land
Boys, don't make too much noise
And don't try to be funny"

What she actually sang:
"Boys, don't forget your toys
And take all of your money
If you find you're in a foreign land
Boys, don't make too much noise
on twitter, cause it's not funny

Original lyrics:
"Cut a rug, lean into the fuckin' youth
Choreo, we just want the fuckin' truth"

What she actually sang @35:34:
"Cut a rug, we just want the fucking truth—like,
so why the fake news?"

Selena Gomez thinks being poor in Texas could be better than her life today

Selena Gomez posted a photo of her visiting her childhood home in Grand Prairie, Texas, with the caption:

The home I grew up in, from birth to 13... (no one was home when I knocked this time lol) I visit this place every chance I get. In many ways it very well could have been better than my life today, but I’m grateful for a voice that can enable change today. Even when I don’t know how to do it well or actually want it. I love you Grand Prairie. Thank you. ❤️

Brad Pitt Bids $120,000 To Watch "Game Of Thrones" With Its Star, Emilia Clarke

0
0
Both Brad Pitt, Emilia Clarke (and also that guy who plays Jon Snow) were at noted domestic abuser and sufferer of goblin shark-face (don't google that) Sean Penn's silent charity gala for Haiti relief.

The proceedings took place at Milk Studios in Los Angeles. The auctioned prize of watching a GoT episode with Emilia Clarke quickly rose from starting price $20,000 dollars to $120,000 which is astronomical if you've seen her act before. Supposedly the auctioneer took a moment to be supremely corny and shouted "Is the King of the North here?!” It turned out Harington was in the restroom at the time.

Pitt originally bid $80,000 then $90,000 but when Jon Snow agreed to be present as well, he raised his bid to $120,000 (yes to watch two people with Lifetime Channel-level acting skills)....which is interesting. He was beat by an $160,000 bid despite that exact amount still being a drop in bucket for him financially.

Other celebrities that attended: noted rape apologist Lena Dunham, noted sexual harasser & noted serial adulterer Arnold Schwarzenegger, noted tone deaf feminist Patricia Arquette and uh, Jason Segel.

Lastly, serial teen model dater and "Pussy Posse" leader Leo DiCaprio was honored for his work in evironmental issues, notably climate change. This is while Pilot refilled his private jet for the ride home and Boat Captain found a gaggle of barely legal blonde models for the subsequent yacht trip in Mykonos afterwards.

DiCaprio said this about Trump and the recent offshore drilling proposal:"Their denial of so much of the scientific proof and evidence belongs in ‘the Earth is flat’ chapter of human history."

He also gave a huge back pat to Penn and other celebrities for their charity efforts saying: "These are obviously incredibly turbulent and scary times. Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful citizens can change the world. Indeed, it’s the only thing that has."

She should get on that Annabelle Wallis PR steez and suddenly refute dating &"Brad Pitt is pursuing Emilia Clarke" rumors after this for a quick profile boost because once GoT is over next year, sis's career will stagnate lbr.

Sasha Stone is alleging that there is an active whisper campaign against Get Out

0
0

- Sasha Stone tweeted out today that there is an active whisper campaign against Get Out. While Kris Talley replied back by saying that this normally happens with all contenders, Stone states that it’s not usually the case against a film that’s not a front runner.

- When films were submitted for consideration last year, the studio behind the film (corrected) put Get Out in Comedy/Musical as opposed to Drama. This irked Jordan Peele, who rightfully spoke out against it. Many film journalists have said that this rubbed the HFPA the wrong way which is why the film was snubbed in certain categories.

- Keep in mind the HFPA chose to nominate Gary Oldman, the same man who went on a rant about the HFPA.

Disney’s ‘Aladdin’ Criticized For “Browning Up” White Extras

• From the Sunday Times, Kaushal Odedra, a stand in for one of the leads of the Guy Ritchie-directed, Will Smith-starring film, described seeing as many as twenty “very fair skinned” actors in line outside make-up tents “waiting to have their skin darkened.”

• The scenes are being filmed at Longcross studios in Surrey, the white actors were brought in to "fill in the many" background roles. There's also a reported 400 of 500 of background performers who are Indian, Middle Eastern, African, Mediterranean or Asian.

• Odedra said of the experience: "Disney are sending out a message that your skin colour, your identity, your life experiences amount to nothing that can be powered on and washed off,"

• The Times has reached out to Disney for comment.

Times Up Activists to join Meryl Streep and others at the Golden Globes

0
0

- Michelle Williams, Emma Watson, Susan Sarandon, Meryl Streep, Laura Dern, Shailene Woodley, Amy Poehler and Emma Stone will be joined by Times Up activists as guests at tonight’s event.

- Tarana Burke, Marai Larasi, Rosa Clemente, Ai-jen Poo, Mónica Ramírez, Calina Lawrence, Billie Jean King and Saru Jayaraman – released the following statement ahead of the event: “As longtime organizers, activists and advocates for racial and gender justice, it gives us enormous pride to stand with the members of the TIMES UP campaign who have stood up and spoken out in this groundbreaking historical moment. We have each dedicated our lives to doing work that supports the least visible, most marginalized women in our diverse contexts. We do this work as participants in movements that seek to affirm the dignity and humanity of every person.

“Too much of the recent press attention has been focused on perpetrators and does not adequately address the systematic nature of violence including the importance of race, ethnicity and economic status in sexual violence and other forms of violence against women. Our goal in attending the Golden Globes is to shift the focus back to survivors and on systemic, lasting solutions. Each of us will be highlighting legislative, community-level and interpersonal solutions that contribute to ending violence against women in all our communities. It is our hope that in doing so, we will also help to broaden conversations about the connection to power, privilege and other systemic inequalities.

“Many of us identify as survivors of sexual harassment, assault and violence ourselves and we believe we are nearing a tipping point in transforming the culture of violence in the countries where we live and work. It’s a moment to transform both the written and unwritten rules that devalue the lives and experiences of women. We believe that people of all genders and ages should live free of violence against us. And, we believe that women of color, and women who have faced generations of exclusion – Indigenous, Black, Brown and Asian women, farmworkers and domestic workers, disabled women, undocumented and queer and trans women — should be at the center of our solutions. This moment in time calls for us to use the power of our collective voices to find solutions that leave no woman behind.

“This past year was a powerful one in the fight for gender equity and against sexual violence against women – from the Women’s March to the re-emergence of ‘me too’ as a viral hashtag that brought more than ten years of survivor-centered work to the mainstream. There is still much work to do, and many hands required to do it. We want to encourage all women- from those who live in the shadows to those who live in the spotlight, from all walks of life, and across generations- to continue to step forward and know that they will be supported when they do.

“The #TIMESUP initiative joins an ever-growing collective of organizations, movements, and leaders working to end gender-based violence. We look forward to partnering with them and others to organize, support all survivors, and find solutions that ensure a future where all women and all people can live and work with dignity.”
