Jesse Williams tours a slum in Rio de Janeiro

Jesse Williams is still in Brazil, and yesterday he partook of a favourite activity of gringos and toured a slum in Rio de Janeiro.

The actor chose Tavares Bastos, which is one of the safest due to heavy police presence, and besides his posse (incl. models Grace Mahary and Melodie Monrose, and Dynasty actor Sam Adegoke) appeared to be accompanied by two bodyguards.

Jesse took pictures of garbage on the street, of broken down cars, of people who live in the slum, filmed random dogs, went inside a small bakery and filmed people buying bread. His model friends posed in front of dilapidated buildings. He also saw some boys playing a football match and, in the presence of paparazzi, took off his shirt and joined them in the game, later taking a picture with the underprivileged boys.

Also that day, Jesse took a million photos with fans, had a snack at the famous Confeitaria Colombo (a café), went to a rehearsal of the legendary Beija Flor de Nilópolis samba school, and had dinner at the swanky Gero restaurant at Ipanema.

Bway Legend Ben Vereen Admits Sexual Assault and Harassment during 2015 production of "Hair"

When Ben Vereen held auditions for “Hair” at a community theatre in Florida in 2015, the Tony winner said he wanted to break new ground with the rock musical.

But in a sickening twist, several young actresses cast in the show claim the Broadway legend’s sexually abusive behavior nearly broke them.

A recap:
* Lured woman cast members to his house in Florida (production was in Tampa) under the guise of "private rehearsals" and assaulted them.
* Vereen used the same line to get girls naked in his hot tub, talking about how nudity (which is used in some productions of "Hair") is not inherently sexual and they should get over their preconceived notions.
* “I would like to apologize directly to the female cast members of the musical ‘Hair’ for my inappropriate conduct when I directed the production in 2015."He doesn't even deny it.
* Made women sit in the middle of a circle at rehearsals and discuss their emotional triggers.
* Gaslighting women while making sexual advances on them.
* Cast members say Vereen, who played Claude in the original musical from 1968 to 1972, used the artistic boundaries of the show to take advantage of the star-struck, volunteer cast at Venice Theatre.
* Cast members were made to sign NDAs.
* Kept promising career progression to his cast, many of which were desperate for an Equity card.
* Article gives very detailed instances of abuse and rape by Vereen

Let's not forget he backed up Bill Cosby, too, when his abuse of women came out.

I'm grossed out and kind of devastated - I loved watching him in a recording of "Pippin" from forever ago.

Also, I'm waiting for the onslaught of more Broadway names being exposed for abuse, it's just a matter of time.

Guy Fieri's restaurant is shutting down!

I’m sorry that I have to be the one to break this terrible news to you all.

It has come to my attention that an important American landmark is being closed off to the public. Yes, that’s right: Guy’s American Kitchen and Bar restaurant, located in Times Square, is shutting down.

I will not say: do not weep. For not all tears are an evil.

Let us hearken to the words of Guy Fieri:

“I’m proud that for over five and a half years, Guy’s American in New York City served millions of happy guests from all over the world…

And upon the restaurant’s closing, I’d like to say thank you to all of the team members and guests who made it all happen.”

Please give him privacy in this trying time.

How will we progress into this New Year with the knowledge that one of Guy Fieri’s 63, now 62 restaurants, has shut down and will not be walking hand-in-hand into the future with us? I can’t answer you at this time. I may weep, but I am not without hope.

I would like to encourage you all to remember the good times (and the bad) in the comments below.

The Mariah Carey Tea Meme Goes Viral + Ex-Fiance Still Wants Engagement Ring Back

A small moment from Mariah Carey's NYE redemption performance has provided the internet with meme material.

The moment happened when Carey "discovered that there was no hot tea to keep her vocal cords limber, despite the fact that she was told that there would be hot tea".

Meanwhile Mimi's ex-billionaire ogre fiance is still trying to get back the 35 carat, $12.7 million dollar diamond ring he gave to her TWO years ago. Despite Carey suing him to keep it and for a $50 million dollar "inconvience fee" outlined in their prenuptial agreement.

  • Supposedly "[Packer] told pals he wants his ring back. And he’s going to have his team reach out to her to ask for it.” So, not too scared to publicly beat a man over a supermodel, but too scared to ask the elusive chanteuse directly to give the ring back. Hmmm...

  • Mariah Carey has since treated the ring as a statement piece, wearing it on her middle finger while on outings with her backup dancer and sugar baby Bryan Tanaka.

  • Packer is now dating socialite Kylie Lim. No word yet of whether he slugged it out on a lawn with another Australian billionaire to win her favor.
