Stan Lee on bisexual Spider-Man: "One sex is enough for anybody"

Stan Lee has addressed the idea of a bisexual Spider-Man.

He was asked about Andrew Garfield's suggestion of seeing Peter Parker experiment with his sexuality in Sony Pictures' films at Fandomfest in Louisville, Kentucky, reports ComicBook.com

"He's becoming bisexual?" said the Avengers and Fantastic Four co-creator. "Really? Who have you been talking to?

"I don't know... seriously, I don't know anything about that. And if it's true, I'm going to make a couple of phone calls.

"I figure one sex is enough for anybody," he joked.

Garfield had suggested that classic love interest Mary Jane Watson should be replaced by AJ, a character played by Chronicle's Michael B Jordan.

Jordan has said that he has "no thoughts on that".

Lee praised Garfield's performance in Marc Webb's Amazing Spider-Man and its upcoming sequel.

"Oh, I think Andy Garfield is great as Spider-Man, absolutely great," he said.

"In fact, I would have picked him for the first Spider-Man movie if he had volunteered."

The Amazing Spider-Man 2 will arrive on May 2, 2014. It will be followed by two more sequels on June 10, 2016, and May 4, 2018.

Just days after ESPN announced it would be making a documentary about the incident in which Harding had Kerrigan clubbed in the knee at the 1994 Olympics, NBC revealed that it would be doing a doc about the scandal. The most glaring difference between the two projects: NBC has snagged an exclusive interview with Kerrigan.

NBC’s doc, which was announced Saturday, will be narrated by former pro athlete-turned-veteran sportscaster Mary Carillo, and will look back at the infamous incident --dubbed "the whack heard 'round the world"-- that captured myriad headlines some 20 years earlier. It is scheduled to air in prime-time during the Olympics in Sochi, and will feature interviews with both Kerrigan and Harding.

Carillo, who has not yet sat down with Kerrigan for her interview, is said to have driven the booking process. The doc will focus on the scandal as well as the womens' lives today. Kerrigan has not spoken out about the devastating episode in the two decades since.

ESPN’s installment will include interviews with Harding as well as several people who are close to Kerrigan. The ESPN doc, titled Tonya and Nancy, is expected to chronicle the six weeks of round-the-clock media coverage that followed as the competitors prepared for the winter games.

Oprah Winfrey

Winfrey's childhood was filled with enough turmoil to all but ensure she would never make it. She spent her early childhood living with her grandmother on a farm in Kosciusko, Miss., while her unwed teenage mother searched for work. She was reportedly sexually molested at an early age and worked as a housemaid. At 17 years old, Oprah got her first big break when she won the Miss Black Tennessee beauty pageant, launching her into a journalism job in Baltimore. The media mogul is now worth around $2.7 billion, according to Forbes.

Sarah Jessica Parker

Sarah Jessica Parker's life was not always as glamorous as it appears on "Sex and The City." She was born to a impoverished family in the small town of Nelsonville, Ohio, and began singing and acting partly to support her family. She is now worth $15 million, according to Forbes.

J.K. Rowling

J.K. Rowling, now wealthier than the Queen of England thanks to her wildly successful "Harry Potter" series, has been open about her lower-middle class background, admitting that she also experienced harsher times. "I, too, have passed through a period of poverty in Britain and can understand some of those issues," she told NPR News in 2012. "I think I've had a very strange life."

Leighton Meester

She played a privileged Upper East Side kid on the CW's "Gossip Girl," but Leighton Meester was actually born in jail to her mother Constance Meester, who was serving time for drug smuggling.

Jim Carrey

All his jokes aside, Jim Carrey has a dark past. The Canadian actor grew up in poverty and at 12 years old was forced to get an after-school factory job working eight hours per day. "My father lost his job when he was 51 and that was the real 'wow', the kick in the guts. We lived in a van for a while, and we worked all together as security guards and janitors," Carrey once said of the experience. His 2003 film "Bruce Almighty" grossed $484.6 million according to the Washington Times.

Keanu loves kungfu, filmed a movie because of Chen Hu

(Translated from Chinese by anivad)

It has been many years since Keanu Reeves last starred in a big movie, and this time he appears in front of a Chinese audience, albeit in a different role - director. Recently, his directorial debut Man of Tai Chi was released, piquing the curiosity of the masses; however, the box-office takings were less than ideal, with the film grossing only $5 million on its opening day. Some speculate that one reason for the box-office failure is that Keanu's scenes in the movie are too few. He cedes the stage to new talent, giving the spotlight to his good friend Chen Hu.

Because of his commitment to Chen Hu and the latter's encouragement of him in making this movie, Keanu's passion for the project is clearly evident. As one of Hollywood's stars, Reeves maverick image is a perpetual anomaly. This has also allowed him to have a bit of a ranger's temperament, caring little for wealth, keeping his promises, and sticking to his principles. I interviewed Keanu Reeves prior to the movie's release, and at that time asked him what kind of expectations he had for its box-office. He said: "I hope people will like this movie, and come out from the theatre with some new ideas. These are the only hopes I have for Man of Tai Chi. I have no specific wishes about its box-office."

If you recall the year 2011, people on Weibo at that time were talking about encountering Keanu Reeves outside Sanlitun, and posting photos of their meetings. The Keanu Reeves in the photo had a beard, and looked very 'Matrix'.

At the time, I thought that he was just another famous tourist visiting China.

But after that, there were also people reporting encounters in Beijing Nanluoguxiang, the worker's restaurant San Yang Cai and Chengdu. I thought, this man isn't done having fun in China. But then the newspapers reported that he was filiming his directorial debut in China, a movie called Man of Tai Chi, and I realised that, for this movie, he's been hanging around in China for about a year's time. In that period, he fell in love with white wine and Szechuan, had the ability to eat spicy food, left with Chen Hu to visit his friends and family in Chengdu, and learnt how to play mahjong.

He also gained a nickname: 'Lao Li'.

Lao Li currently has a lot of interest in Chinese culture, such as its paintings, literature and art, and has an understanding of Confucianism and Taoism.

When it was time for the interview, shaking hands and greeting each other, I also called him Lao Li. "Lao li, nice to meet you!" He laughed, and quipped: "I'm a very old Li!" (Note: 'lao' means 'old' in Chinese. - Ani)

Lao Li likes visiting Nanluoguxiang, because that place has elements of both the old and the new, which he thinks is very cool but which also makes him a little sad. "To gain something is to lose something, and to keep something you need to give something up... this is a contradiction that keeps occuring in China, and in the whole world, in fact."

The Lao Li who was saying this also displayed the 'new and old' in himself. Externally, he had a beard and his body was getting a little fat, in contrast to the Matrix's proud lone saviour of 15 years ago. But what hadn't changed was the heroic spirit in his brow, and the touch of firmness in his mouth. (Note: this isn't translating well. In English a similar line would probably describe the heroic spark in his eyes and the firmness of his jaw. But the specific body parts mentioned in Chinese are 'brow/forehead' and 'mouth'. I am okay with Keanu having a heroic forehead. - Ani)

This kind of contradiction also accompanied Keanu as he grew up. The Keanu who was born in 1964 was, ten years ago, one of the hottest stars in Hollywood, so if you'd talked about 'getting it', it would have naturally been about his fame. But the concept of 'giving up' also constantly followed him around. His beloved younger sister contracted leukemia, and through that time, Keanu was always by her side, paying her huge medical bills; in 1993, his My Own Private Idaho co-star River Phoenix died of a drug overdose; during The Matrix, he and his girlfriend had a stillborn child, and his girlfriend then died in a car accident. In talking about these losses, Keanu Reeves gave a slight pause, and then raised his head, and in a very calm tone said, "Although those losses were very frightening, to me it's about the love and memories. They let me treasure the people who are gone, and all the more cherish the ones I still have with me."

Keanu's childhood was a constant migration between different countries. Then his parents divorced, he dropped out of high school, and at 17 years old his affinity for acting might have seemed accidental, but also seems to have been a matter of destiny. He admitted that these experiences made him feel like a gypsy: adaptable, but also with the desire to conquer. So he dared to make refusals. He said he wouldn't do movies for the money. Because acting in Speed made him famous, people sought him out to do Speed 2, but he wasn't satisfied with the script, and although he met the director, he refused to do the movie. He loved music, and so turned down a 50 million paycheck (USD$11 million at that time - Ani), and brought his band to perform for eight months on a world tour. In 1997, in order to get Al Pacino to join The Devil's Advocate, he gave up USD$1 million of his own paycheck so they could afford him.

The media once described Keanu Reeves as such: Other than when he's filming, he doesn't care about his appearance, wearing shoes full of holes, riding the subway, and when he's hungry he goes to a park, spreads newspapers atop the the flowerbeds, and eats a sandwich, looking scruffy like a tramp.

Yet despite this side of him, his fame over the years has been inseparable from an image of him as 'handsome' and 'cool'. In 1995, 'People' magazine ranked him among the 50 most beautiful people in the world. When I bring this up, he shakes his head and says with a laugh that that was a long time ago.

These past few years, he's protected his privacy very well. I asked if he cares about what other people think of him. He nods: "Of course, everyone wants recognition, and I only hope I give people a good impression." When I ask him to evaluate himself, he first gives me a funny look, then says, as he thinks: "easygoing... has a good sense of humour... artsy..."

After the interview, I saw Chen Hu, and asked him to evaluate Keanu Reeves from the point of view of a friend. He said: he ignores his external appearance but focuses on what's in his heart; even though he's really famous, he drifts away out of the system; wealth and fame mean nothing to him.

To speak of how they originally met, we have to trace events back to 1997. Due to filming The Matrix, martial arts instructor Chen Hu met Keanu Reeves, and the two of them also worked together on the two later Matrix sequels. Today, the two are good friends, more like good brothers. But I was still curious: how does a martial artist and Hollywood star become good friends just because of one movie?

Hearing my surprise, Chen Hu said, "You're saying that there's a huge disparity in our identities! In reality, I think that what's important is that we have compatible personalities!" Lao Li said, "It's fate!" In his eyes, Chen Hu is a very honest, traditional Chinese man.

"So we had some ideas of working together." Lao Li said that the movie Man of Tai Chi emerged from the commitment he had to Chen Hu. "This movie was brewing for five years, and the story has Chen Hu playing a courier who under the influence of his demons gets lured deep into the abyss of evil; then right at the end he has an epiphany, and it becomes a 'tai chi master' course."

Using a different understanding of 'Man' than Hollywood's Spiderman and Batman, Lao Li has his own definition of this 'Man'. He says, a hero has two sides: the side that's a hero, and the side that's in the world. They must hide their real selves in order to become a hero. They also have to overcome their inner demons and achieve self-realisation. So the 'Man' he filmed is an ordinary hero, not a 'Superman'.

Lao Li said that Man of Tai Chi and 'tai chi' had different approaches to the same ideas: new and old, yin and yang, good and evil, reconciliation and division, independence and intrinsic connection.

"The story of Man of Tai Chi lets people explore in greater depth who they are, and what they want to do." Lao Li said that tai chi is always about both the spiritual and physical, speaking of the rise (?), even gesturing (?).

In Man of Tai Chi, Lao Li plays a 'super villain' - not only controlling whether a person lives or dies, but also controlling a person's will, single-handedly manipulating the "son of tai chi's" life. Lao Li onscreen and offscreen can be described as a 'double director'. Not only is he the movie's director, but in the movie he directs an organisation of 'murder games'.

"The sky is dark, please shut your eyes; murderer, open your eyes, and start killing..."

To many people, it was inconceivable why Keanu Reeves would choose to play a villain. In fact, it is much harder to make people believe in a non-stereotypical villain.

"The sky is bright, open your eyes, start discussing." And listen to Lao Li speak. "It's very fun to play a villain. He has a unique form of violence: he tries to control from a distance, but at the same time controls your soul. This character I play is a lot like Mephistopheles and the devil with his transactions..."

"As an actor, I create for the sake of a character; as a producer, I create for the sake of the story; as a director, I create for the sake of whatever allows me to tell a good story. So, to me, creation is my true foundation."

BQ: Your first time directing was a very enjoyable experience but at the same time, did you encounter some difficulties?

Keanu: It's extremely enjoyable, so I wouldn't use the term 'difficulties'. Many times, difficulties are opportunities. Sometimes you can't find a direction, but in fact the difficulties are giving you a different direction. When the story comes up against some problems, you do more research, and you'll find different solutions. For example, when we were filming, because the schedule was very tight, it was very troublesome, but we found a faster way to shoot, and progressed faster. So to me, difficulties are the best ways to discover opportunities.

BQ: Chen Hu isn't a professional actor. What do you think was the most valuable aspect in his performance?

Keanu: Chen Hu performed really well. He was full of emotion. Watching his transformation in the movie from from a sheet of white paper entering into 'darkness' is extremely shocking. His performance is very natural; he brought a lot of his own character into the performance, and that inner character is very surprising. I don't want you to feel like you're in a play, I hope that you're a part of the play, and through that bring the audience into the drama.

BQ: In The Matrix, you were the star and Chen Hu was the martial arts instructor. But in Man of Tai Chi, Chen Hu moves from behind the scenes to in front of it. How did this role reversal make you feel?

Keanu: This kind of role reversal is great. Chen Hu is a very talented actor, and an excellent martial artist. Real kungfu and movie kungfu are different, but he easily masters both forms. I'm very confident and very hopeful that he will continue down the acting road.

BQ: You made Man of Tai Chi your directorial debut; was this influenced by Chen Hu?

Keanu: Yes. He learnt the inner strength of tai chi, and he also boxes. The name 'Chen Hu' means 'Tiger', and the tiger is a very traditional symbol. Chen Hu's accomplishments in tai chi are comparable to the mastery of a tiger. The movie Man of Tai Chi was in fact inspired by Tai Chi. He received professional tai chi training, his martial arts pervade body, mind and spirit. On second look he's a simultaneously traditional and modern person. This kind of complex diversity allowed him to perfectly illustrate this aspect of tai chi.

BQ: What most attracts you to Chen Hu?

Keanu: It's really hard to say 'most'. I only saw his outstanding kungfu, and saw his wildness and passion. I've been deeply impacted by Chen Hu. We were talking about power, and tactics of force control: if you are very good at kungfu, you can kill a person, and that's a form of strength; you can also, from the angle of responsibiilty, know the importance of a life.

BQ: Do you want to help Chen Hu become the second Bruce Lee, Jackie Chan or Jet Li?

Keanu: There will never be a second Bruce Lee, Jackie Chan or Jet Li. Everyone is their own person. I hope that Chen Hu has the opportunity to walk his own path. I feel that he can do a lot: he can do comedy, he's a character actor. I hope that Man of Tai Chi will provide a bigger arena to learn more about him.

Tai Chi: Not for fun

"From one impression comes two, from two comes four, from four comes eight, which represents everything. (Note: I'm just guessing at the translation here and might be completely off. - Ani) Traditional tai chi kungfu is very profound, and will be very different from that seen through the eyes of a Westerner. To me, portraying these cultural differences is very important, and I hope this movie will have universal meaning." - Keanu Reeves

BQ: What understandings did you have of China before you came here?

Keanu: My understanding of China began with my maternal grandmother, from the furnishings in her home, the chairs, the wind, toys marked 'Made in China' and so on. I grew up in Toronto, which has many, many Chinese people; there were lots of Chinese kids at school. In the process of growing up I was always around Chinese cuisine, television, Confucius, 'The Analects'.

BQ: Which Chinese movies had the greatest impact on you?

Keanu: Director Jiang Wen's Let the Bullets Fly, as well as Wang Xiaoshuai's Beijing Bicycle - he's one of the directors in China's sixth generation (?), and it's an extremely touching movie. Then there's also a number of Hong Kong movies, like Overheard, The Departed, The KIller and so on, and of course a few kungfu movies.

BQ: Who was responsible for enlightening you to Chinese kungfu?

Keanu: I don't remember. I grew up in Toronto, Canada, and saw many kungfu movies from the 60s and 70s, so I don't really remember which filmmaker was the first. I remember the first kungfu movie I saw was Five Fingers of Death, and then a few Bruce Lee movies, and then Jackie Chan, then Jet Li, I've seen some of Jet Li's The Shaolin Temple.

BQ: Will having made Man of Tai Chi make you love tai chi even more?

Keanu: Before filming, I already really liked tai chi, which is one of the reasons why we wanted to do this movie. The tai chi I understand might not be a confrontation (?), it's not a contradiction, but when you understand this contradiction, understand the inner connotations, you can use this to do something, like understand other people, empathise with other people.

BQ: Tai chi appears gentle on the surface, but has a very violent strength; how do you see the gentleness and force of tai chi?

Keanu: The general perception of tai chi isn't wrong; tai chi uses the different approaches of both hard and soft to unleash a person's energy. The art of tai chi is in the attack. Chen Hu also has his own style. I feel that the essence of tai chi is in assimilating other people's styles, and then using their own methods against them. We also wanted to express this philosophy.

BQ: You've said before that tai chi isn't just a physical fitness excercise, but also a heart exercise; can you explain further?

Keanu: When you're meditating you will have this kind of understanding: when you're practising some tai chi, you're not only excercising your body, but also incorporating energy from nature and the universe into the excercise. So it's not just exercising your body, but stimulating every cell in your body. You're moving with your feet and your fists, and it's very beautiful, like a dance.

BQ: Tai chi is a hot subject in China this year. What kind of different cultural perspectives do you bring to this subject?

Keanu: I didn't want the tai chi moves in the movie to be exactly like Chen (?) tai chi, so we designed a form of 'spiritual' tai chi, because I didn't want to be restricted to just one particular style; I wanted there to be a sense of fantasy to it, making use of some of the ideas in tai chi, but at the same time we also imitated various other kungfu styles, like Sanda, attack, drag (?) and wrestling. In the movie, the fighting style Chen Hu uses changes along with his character. In the beginning it's more simple, but it gets stronger as his evil side grows, his desire for power increases, and his actions become more and more violent, even assimilating many other boxing styles. All these styles express his character. It's not just martial arts. I would like to say that this movie is ambitious; its fight scenes aren't there to be fun, but to make people think.

BQ: For The Matrix, Yuen Woo Ping designed some very shocking yet beautiful action scenes; after all these years, he's now the action choreographer on your directorial debut. What new breakthroughs did he accomplish this time?

Keanu: Having Yuen Woo Ping is having a master in attendance. The master has his own style, so he doesn't need to come up with another new style. The style comes from the master's hand, you can only experience the realms within. But standing on the shoulders of a master can also let you create a new style. (laughs) He and I had an agreement: there were times where I would ask him how he would shoot a particular scene, and at other times he would achieve the results that I wanted. I think that every action movie should have its own unique label. I can only say that for this, the thing I really wanted was to create a fresh character tailored to Chen Hu. We didn't just want to shoot beautiful shots of fists, we didn't want to just shoot actions. It's an action scene. Filming a martial arts action scene, I try as much as possible to make it such that people can't see the choreography, and see it as very realistic and natural.

BQ: There are people who say that the film is almost non-stop action from start to finish, with 18 fight scenes, and it can make you rather breathless...

Keanu: We actually cut out a few fight scenes, and right now we only have 30 minutes of action, more or less. Even though there's quite a lot of fighting, they each have different styles; most of the time it's 1 vs 1, in one scene it's 1 vs 2. To me, each of those fight scenes relate to Chen Hu's character's development, and isn't fighting for the sake of fighting, and is more watchable.

BQ: There are also people saying that the main reason to watch this movie is to get to see you?

Keanu: Yes! I'm vey happy.

BQ: After this, do you have any further plans to direct?

Keanu: I hope to find a good story to direct again. But at the moment I'm looking forward to returning to acting; next year we might have to start shooting Passengers, and in the fall there'll also be an action movie.

Newsflash, ONTD: Pope Francis I Says Quote, "Who Am I To Judge Them?"... IS THAT SO?!

$
0
0

Pope Francis has had a busy week at World Youth Day in Rio as he visited his slums and prisons, blessed the Olympic flag and brought three million people to Copacabana Beach for a final Mass on Sunday morning.

Now he has made another headline, this time when the pontiff said, "Who am I to judge a gay person?"

While taking questions from reporters on the plane back to Rome, Francis spoke about gays and the reported"gay lobby." According to the Wall Street Journal, the Pope's comments about homosexuality came in the context of a question about gay priests.

The pontiff broached the delicate question of how he would respond to learning that a cleric in his ranks was gay, though not sexually active. For decades, the Vatican has regarded homosexuality as a"disorder," and Pope Francis' predecessor Pope Benedict XVI formally barred men with what the Vatican deemed "deep-seated" homosexuality from entering the priesthood.

"Who am I to judge a gay person of goodwill who seeks the Lord?" the pontiff said, speaking in Italian. "You can't marginalize these people."

John Allen of the National Catholic Reporter reported on the meeting as well and said the Pope also addressed the question of the Vatican's reported "gay lobby".

He hasn’t run into significant resistance to reform inside the Vatican, and joked that if there really is a “gay lobby” he hasn’t yet seen it stamped on anyone’s ID cards.

Father James Martin, S.J. who is an admirer of Francis, said that the pontiff's comment about gay people is consistent with the rest of his papacy.

"One of Francis's hallmarks is an emphasis on mercy, which you see in that response. That mercy, of course, comes from Jesus. And we can never have too much of it."

The pope did not offer much hope for those advocating for women Catholic priests, according to Allen at NCR, saying: Pope John Paul II “definitively … closed the door' to women priests.

More from the Associated Press:

ABOARD THE PAPAL AIRCRAFT — Pope Francis reached out to gays on Monday, saying he wouldn't judge priests for their sexual orientation in a remarkably open and wide-ranging news conference as he returned from his first foreign trip.

"If someone is gay and he searches for the Lord and has good will, who am I to judge?" Francis asked.

His predecessor, Pope Benedict XVI, signed a document in 2005 that said men with deep-rooted homosexual tendencies should not be priests. Francis was much more conciliatory, saying gay clergymen should be forgiven and their sins forgotten.

Francis' remarks came Monday during a plane journey back to the Vatican from his first foreign trip in Brazil.

He was funny and candid during a news conference that lasted almost an hour and a half. He didn't dodge a single question, even thanking the journalist who raised allegations reported by an Italian news magazine that one of his trusted monsignors was involved in a scandalous gay tryst.

Francis said he investigated and found nothing to back up the allegations.

Francis was asked about Italian media reports suggesting that a group within the church tried to blackmail fellow church officials with evidence of their homosexual activities. Italian media reported this year that the allegations contributed to Benedict's decision to resign

While stressing Catholic social teaching that calls for homosexuals to be treated with dignity and not marginalized, Francis said it was something else entirely to conspire to use private information for blackmail or to exert pressure.

Francis was responding to reports that a trusted aide was involved in an alleged gay tryst a decade ago. He said he investigated the allegations according to canon law and found nothing to back them up. But he took journalists to task for reporting on the matter, saying the allegations concerned matters of sin, not crimes like sexually abusing children.

And when someone sins and confesses, he said,God not only forgives but forgets.

"We don't have the right to not forget," he said.

And in the iconic words of Miley Cystrus...

Well, this was interesting. He seems consistent enough, but I dunno. Like he doesn't judge me and the rest of the LGBTQ peeps but he won't allow women priests? Give or take, we can't have it all, blah blah blah, etc. Still too early to call if he's actually better than Pope BeneDICK imo. Et tu, ONTD?

Beyoncé's rep talks about her upcoming album!

The status of Beyoncé's new album has been the subject of scrutiny for much of 2013, thanks in no small part to her endless string of high-profile performances, TV specials and endorsement deals.

But in recent months, that scrutiny has gone to another level entirely.

Based on interviews given by collaborators Ne-Yo and Diplo — both of whom made it seem as if Beyoncé was still attempting to figure out a direction for the disc — and reports that she'd scrapped 50 songs intended for the album and was beginning from scratch, the project definitely seems to be in flux, and some have begun to wonder whether the follow-up to 4 would see the light this year.

All the while, Beyoncé's camp has shot down rumors of a delay, saying that there never has been a release date for the album, tentative or otherwise. And last week, when MTV News emailed her reps asking for a comment about a reported November release, we did not receive a response. But on Sunday, a spokesperson for Bey did give us an update on the progress she's making ... and, take note, BeyHivers, there is progress:

"She continues to work on her album," her rep wrote in an email.

Beyoncé will keep on working between dates on her Mrs. Carter World Tour, which wraps a North American run in August before heading back overseas. She'll return for another leg of North American shows at the end of 2013.

The campaign is for Steimatzky Books, the largest and oldest bookstore chain in Israel.

The headline is such a nice understated and truthful statement. Thankfully, the copywriter didn’t try be too “twisty” with the line.

The visuals are very literal— something that I often have a problem with — but this is a literary campaign! So, they work. The art direction and photography are both excellent (I love the Stalin layout).

Teen Wolf season 3, episode 9 just finished airing! Come read our recap and discuss “The Girl Who Knew Too Much” with your fellow fans.

Teen Wolf season 3, episode 9 “The Girl Who Knew Too Much” began with the deputy walking through the school alone because someone called 911. When we hear the creepy chant through her radio, know that something is wrong.

And it most definitely is. The deputy sees her own dead body before she is strangled from behind by the Darach. Lydia shows up without meaning to and, learning from her past run-in with Stiles, calls him, Allison, and Scott to find the body.

The next day at school Scott and Stiles devise a plan to talk to Ethan. Unfortunately, they have to go through Aiden in order to do that, but Lydia seems to be the perfect distraction. Their time in the closet is cut short, however, when someone draws the spiral of vengeance on the window.

Ethan tells Scott and Stiles that he and Aiden were omegas when Deucalion found them. He taught them how to control their ability, and the twins subsequently killed each member of their pack, including their Alpha. It’s because of this that they owe Deucalion so much and stay loyal to him.

Back in the locker room we see Cora attacking Aiden. Ethan can feel it, and he, Scott, and Stiles come to Cora’s rescue. Ethan calls Aiden off, but not before Cora gets severely injured.

Teen Wolf Stiles The Girl Who Knew Too Much

Scott sent Isaac to keep an eye on Allison, but she finds him out. Together they look at what Allison’s father has been working on and, underneath the map, they see a Celtic five-fold knot. In each of the circles, we see the groups of sacrifices that the Darach has been killing.

While Jennifer and Derek enjoy a short-lived reunion, Stiles takes Cora home. On his way, Allison tells him that she thinks his father could be in trouble. He agrees to tell his dad, and needs Cora to help him.

Meanwhile, Scott goes to Morrell and flat-out asks her if she’s the killer. She denies it and her steady heartbeat backs up her story. She does have a warning for Scott, though: Deucalion wants a True Alpha in his pack, but if Scott won’t join his pack by choice, he’ll force him to kill.

When another teacher is taken, Lydia stumbles upon the room and, in some sort of trance, writes the number two on the board in the middle of a symbol that mysteriously showed up when he had turned his back. She screams right before it cuts to a commercial.

In the next scene, Stiles tries to convince his father that werewolves exist. After a hilarious scene of him trying to keep all the facts straight (“Deaton is a kanima?”), he tells Stiles to cut it out. As a last ditch effort, Stiles tells Cora to change, but she passes out right before she can.

Teen Wolf Melissa Sheriff The Girl Who Knew Too Much

Allison goes after her father, convinced he’s the one that is killing everyone. Isaac doesn’t think it’s a good idea, but follows her anyway. They see the Darach, and it’s then that her father comes out and shoots at it. But the Darach escapes.

At the rehearsal, Ethan tells Danny that if anything happens, he’s to find him. Lydia tells Scott that she’s going to stop fighting the feeling, and maybe she’ll be able to save someone in time. Meanwhile, Derek is with Cora in the hospital. Something seems to be very wrong with her.

Lydia gets a text from Aiden to meet her, and she leaves reluctantly. However, when she reaches the classroom, Jennifer is there waiting, and hits her over the head.

As Jennifer plans to kill Lydia, Lydia screams and we finally find out what she is: A banshee.

Back in the concert hall, a piano wire kills a woman and everyone runs screaming. Back in the classroom, the sheriff points his gun at Jennifer, but she throws the knife at him and it lands in his shoulder. Scott shows up to fight Jennifer, but she’s just too strong for him.

As Stiles watches from the other side of the door, Jennifer takes the sheriff away and the episode ends.

Better than last weeks tho the reveals were predictable yet satisfying I guess. Stilinski family feels, Hale feels, Meriff, and kinda happy about the development (as minimal as it was).

First look at Zac Efron and others in Parkland

"Parkland", Peter Landesman's upcoming drama that recounts the events at Dallas' Parkland Hospital on the day John F. Kennedy was assassinated, has debuted its first official images via USA Today. One of the pics gives fans a glimpse of Zac Efron, the former Disney star who is tapped to play Dr. Charles 'Jim' Carrico who desperately tried to save JFK's life at that time.

In another snap, Efron is featured alongside Marcia Gay Harden who is introduced as the head nurse in the trauma room. Paul Giamatti who acts as the accidental witness Abraham Zapruder is seen filming the motorcade with his cam. Other images, meanwhile, unveil looks at Billy Bob Thornton as the head of Dallas' Secret Service office and Jeremy Strong as killer Lee Harvey Oswald.

Marcia Gay Harden as Doris Nelson and Zac Efron as Jim Carrico

To USA Today, Thornton describes his character, "The Secret Service had never lost a man, and they lost their man. He felt bound and determined to find out what happened immediately while he was going through the worst time in his life. He felt completely responsible."

Billy Bob Thornton as Forrest Sorrels

The "Armageddon" actor then gushes over Giamatti, who "looks so much like Zapruder that it just all seemed very, very real." He says, "You really forgot that you were making a movie for a moment."

Paul Giamatti as Abraham Zapruder

Landesman reveals he has been adamant about shooting key scenes in Dallas' Dealey Plaza. Of the pic that will hit theaters on September 20, he says, "This is a movie about the ground truth from the ground level."

Jeremy Strong as Lee Harvey Oswald

"What surprised me was the power and poignancy of those who survived that day and the three that followed - the heroism, the instincts and the pathos of those swept up in this tsunami. This is an event that happened to individuals."

'Pacific Rim' sequel could hinge on China

$

After defying its box office naysayers but failing to become an outright hit, Pacific Rim is making its way to China, where its reputation as a flop or a success could be cemented. According to The Wrap, the massive Chinese moviegoing market could tip the scales in favor or success and a potential sequel. If the Guillermo del Toro-directed epic can make just $50 million in China, BoxOffice.com editor-in-chief Phil Contrino believes Warner Bros. will open the door for del Toro to do a Pacific Rim 2.

In the film’s favor—according to Contrino—is its inclusion of Chinese heroes in the Jaeger Crimson Typhoon as well as the nation’s love of big robot movies. Notably, Transformers: Dark of the Moon brought in a mind-blowing $145 million there just two years ago, which contributed substantially to the film’s $771 million foreign gross. Contrino speculates Pacific Rim could ride that robot genre interest into at least a third of the box office Tranformers 3 raked in. But he notes there’s two issues standing in the pic’s way. One is that the three and a half week lag between Pacific Rim’s US and China release could mean movie piracy will have already have substantially eaten away at the film’s prospective audience. And two is Fast and Furious 6, which just opened there with a hardy $24 million. Will Vin Diesel and his car-lovin’ crew beat back Idris Elba’s Jaeger-driving team? It’s a cinema showdown too close to call right now. (But that right there is a movie I’d like to see!)

Having cost a whopping $190 million to make, it was fitting that a recurring tag line for the massive monster vs. battle bot adventure Pacific Rim was “Go big or go extinct.” But without an A-list star or an established franchise audience to build from, the original actioner suffered from terrible tracking numbers going into its opening weekend. Still del Toro, wasn’t worried. And soon came a surge in midnight ticket sales, promising a winning weekend. But that promise didn’t pay out and Pacific Rim earned $38 million in its opening weekend, which put it at the #3 spot behind Despicable Me 2 and Grown Ups 2.

To date, the film has earned an unremarkable $84 million in the US, but with $140 million overseas there is a good chance China could save Pacific Rim from flopping. If the country’s cinema fans fall in with the rest of the Asian market, the movie should do well. Pacific Rim has already made $17 million in Korea and almost $9 million in Taiwan. With openings coming in Japan and Brazil, the feature might be on track for $300 million in foreign grosses. And that figure could well inspire Warner Bros. to suit up for more Kaiju versus Jaeger battles, though we’d bet with a tighter budget.

And just because I find this shocking: Grown Ups 2--which somehow cost $80 million to make—has already taken in $101 million domestically. America, this is why we can’t have nice things.

Teresa breaks her silence after she and Joe Giudice, are charged with bankruptcy, fraud and tax crimes. "Today is a most difficult day for our family. I support Joe and, as a wonderful husband and father, I know he wants only the best for our lovely daughters and me," she begins.

The star continues, "I am committed to my family and intend to maintain our lives in the best way possible, which includes continuing my career. As a result, I am hopeful that we will resolve this matter with the Government as quickly as possible."

They are due in court Tuesday, July 30. Lawyer Henry Klingeman says, "Teresa will plead not guilty. The judicial process that begins today with an indictment is a search for the truth. As it moves forward, we look forward to vindicating her."

Another star, Melissa and her husband Joe Gorga, who is Teresa's brother, were also in financial trouble for "portraying a life they that they really didn't live prior to the show." Last year, the couple was owing $2.25 million in mortgage. They took out the loan in 2007 to refinance their house.

Melissa opted to sell her properties to solve her problem. They put the house which they took out the mortgage loan for on the market, and sold their Montville Township mansion.

But in addition to her physcic, she’s also got best pal Cara Delevingne on side to help her out.

The source added to The Sun: ‘She has also been spending more and more time with model Cara Delevingne.

‘She has a phone that only Cara and her mum can reach her on. When they are together they stay up all night talking and drinking.

‘Cara is the person she turns to for everything these days, especially when she’s feeling down.

‘They speak and text constantly and are trying to spend as much time together as possible.

‘Rihanna’s bodyguards have a nightmare because they disappear down stairwells and out side doors and go out on childish jaunts when they are out together.’
