    Liz Carmouche Defeats Jessica Andrade

In one of the best fights of the night at UFC on Fox 8, MMA veteran Liz Carmouche(9-3) defeated UFC newcomer Jessica Andrade (9-3) via second-round TKO to climb back into the conversation for another shot at Ronda Rousey’s Women’s Bantamweight Championship.

Andrade and Carmouche engaged in a back-and-forth grappling match in the first round. The 21-year-old Brazilian nearly secured a guillotine choke, while Carmouchescored multiple takedowns.

In the second round, Carmouche went right back to work, taking down her opponent and advancing to mount. After she rained down some undefended ground-and-pound, referee Herb Dean called an end to the fight to give Carmouche the stoppage win.
She was coming off a devastating loss to Rousey in her previous bout—a submission defeat via the champion’s renowned first-round armbar—and regaining her footing in the division is a great sign for the future.

If she ever wants another shot at the title, beating Andrade was the first step on the road to redemption.

The rematch will have to wait, though, asRousey and Miesha Tate are scheduled to square off at UFC 168 in December after the latest season of The Ultimate Fighterconcludes.

Cat Zingano had originally earned the right to coach opposite Rousey on the reality show, but an injury forced the undefeated star to withdraw from the competition, opening the door for Tate.

While Zingano could be a viable next opponent for Carmouche after such a huge win, another likely competitor could be the loser of Sarah Kaufman vs. Sara McMann on August 28.

Despite beating Andrade on Saturday, there is no doubt that Carmouche needs another victory before earning a title shot in the UFC.

No matter who is next for the female star, a huge victory at UFC on Fox 8 proves thatCarmouche is one of the top women in the division and a serious contender for the title.

Her rise to the top of the bantamweight power rankings has begun

“Catching Fire” is right around the corner and what more of a perfect time for this to come out?Just consider it part of a good promo lineup.

A year ago or so, 20-year old Josh Hutcherson was caught on a online dating site.. under the name, “Connor”.

‘Connor’ was not only sending photos to girl(s) but actual videos of him pleasuring himself to someone who we gladly got a hold of.

The photos, which clearly depict his tattoo, were taken sometime around 2010-2011.

After reaching out to his team for a comment, all we got was legal threats.

We could say the odds were not in his favor, but in yours.

The gaming is ramping up for the week in the "Big Brother 15" house. Read on to find out what went down Saturday night (July 27), including some sexy time and some more racism! Or just sign up for the live feeds so you can take it all in for yourself.

In game news, Spencer is obviously going to take himself off the block with the Veto. Aaryn is most likely going to nominate Candice in his place, leaving Howard, Candice and Amanda on the block.

The How/Spe/Can alliance has started working on trying to get the house to flip on Amanda and vote her out, but so far they aren't having much luck. Helen and Elissa are acting like they might be interested, but they know they would still need two more votes (because they have Spencer) and they don't think they can get two more votes (and they're probably right).

Jessie might be convinced to flip, but Judd and Andy are pretty firm in their Goof Troop alliance with McCranda, so they won't flip. And GinaMarie will do whatever Aaryn tells her to do, so unless somehow they convince Aaryn that it's in her best interest if Amanda goes, they are probably out of luck.

For their part, Hel-El realize that Amanda is getting too tight with Aaryn, but they don't think this is the week to split them up.

So, Howard tried another tactic. He sat down with McCrae, Amanda and Judd and told them he keeps getting blamed for things because he's close to Candice and he doesn't want to keep cleaning up her messes. He is clearly trying to distance himself from her and if Candice is on the block, it may be easier for Howard/Spencer to get the house to vote out Candice -- everybody seems to hate her, especially the women, so if Howard can make a compelling argument that "horrible" Candice doesn't "deserve" to make it to jury, then he might have a shot at staying.

In other news, Amanda and GinaMarie played pool and decided to be gross and imitate Asian women with lines like, "I really, really want the ball in the pocket" and "I so happy, I so happy." Flashback to around midnight PT in the backyard if you'd like to listen to them be disgusting for yourselves.

UPDATE: Several commenters have said Amanda and GM were imitating the character of Ms. Swan from "Mad TV." That may be true -- we never heard them say that, specifically, and we didn't recognize the imitation because we never really watched "Mad TV."

Still, it seemed to come out of nowhere on the feeds and, frankly, it kind of surprises us that they would do that, considering what the houseguests have been warned about in the house. And also, after talking about Helen "straightening out her eyes" and making them rice and how when she evicts someone, she'll say (in an Asian accent) "No happy ending for you!", they don't really get the benefit of the doubt anymore.

    [end update]

And then later, Amanda and McCrae got down 'n dirty in the cockpit room. It's all happening around 4:40 am PT. Are they straight-up having sex yet? It would seem not, but there is definitely something happening under those covers.

Stay tuned here later today for the Power of Veto ceremony results, though we would be shocked if anybody other than Candice goes up in Spencer's place.

You gotta hand it to Jessica Chastain. Even when she's posing for weird photo shoots in some creepy abandoned woods, she still knows how to pull off a dress.

Such was the case at the 2013 Giffoni Film Festival on Sunday, where the two-time Oscar-nominated beauty (why did she lose to Jennifer Lawrence? Why?) arrived in a red stunning dress by Dolce & Gabbana. The look was so flawless, we went ahead and named her the best dressed star of the week.

Who else looked good this week? Check out more from the ladies -- plus a special appearance by a red-hot man.

    Cate Blanchett in Alexander McQueen.

    Naya Rivera in Michael Kors.

Duets featuring Michael Jackson and Freddie Mercury are finally set to be officially released, three decades after they were recorded.
Mercury’s former bandmates, Brian May and Roger Taylor, are working on tracks featuring the two dead superstars and have promised ‘something for folks to hear’ in two months.
Guitarist May described working on the sessions this month as: ‘Exciting, challenging, emotionally taxing. But cool.’

The prospect of pop’s two greatest showmen combining in a musical reprise is a mouth-watering prospect for fans around the world.
Yet ironically the pair fell out after a collaboration in the early 1980s.
In what is thought to have been their only session together, they recorded three songs during six hours spent at Jackson’s home studio in Encino, California.

In 2011, May confirmed the Jackson estate had given permission for him to revamp the trio of recordings with Taylor and the pair have brought in US-based music producer William Orbit, who has worked with Madonna and Blur. The tracks are likely to include new guitar solos from May along with Queen-style vocal harmonies.
Writing on his blog in reply to a fan, May, 66, said: ‘There are a few items in progress. We will have something for folks to hear in a couple of months’ time, hopefully.’ Jackson died in 2009, aged 50, after suffering cardiac arrest linked to his drug dependency. Mercury died from an Aids-related illness, aged 45, in 1991. A Jackson family source said he believed the post-Encino row stemmed from the pair’s inability to arrange a second recording session.

I hope it's true this time.

Ever since she first signed up for Instagram, Madonna has been tantalizingly teasing photos from a mysterious collaboration with photographer Steven Klein, dubbed “#secretproject” — when she’s not posting Purim selfies, that is.

The hints have been coming for months now (check out the original What’s going on?” post), including the premiere of a dark, violent trailer at the MDNA Tour premiere party in June, but details are still a little shaky: Is it a political statement, or an advertisement for Brahim‘s new clothing line? (Please let it not be that.)

Tonight, a new piece of the puzzle arrived – in the form of the #unapologetic Illuminati princess herself, Rihanna.

The above photo just surfaced tonight, featuring the “Pour It Up” princess decked out as Blond Ambition-era Madonna. (RiRi’s standom for M has been well-documented throughout the years, including her performance of “Vogue” at Fashion Rocks 2008.)

RiRi’s involvement in #secretproject isn’t actually news: Late last year, Steven Klein was tweeting Rihanna directly about the #secretproject. Later on, a photo of something marked “From Madonna to Rihanna: 2 of 3″ surfaced.

This is (potentially) confirmation that Rihanna really is involved — and it’s already everything. But what does it all mean?
All we have is an official trailer that Madonna released in June

Anderson Cooper's Biggest Fan Is A White Supremacist/X-Men Devotee

CNN’s Anderson Cooper has a stalker — a gaunt, scraggly-haired, 40-year-old Queens man who has the steely-eyed anchor stud fearing for his life.

Since 2008, Alex Hausner — described as a gay, Jewish white supremacist — has allegedly made unwelcome phone calls plus four attempts to see Cooper, last month trying to kick down the red, lacquered door to the posh, four-story West Village converted firehouse that Cooper shares with his hunky, bar-owner boyfriend.

“I swear to f--king God, don’t insult me,” a security camera caught Hausner shouting as he kicked, according to court papers.“I’m going to f--k you up!”

In his three decades as a newsman, Cooper has ducked Israeli rockets in Gaza and braved radioactive clouds in Japan.

But it’s Hausner — a Far Rockaway, Queens, psychiatric patient — who now has him rattled, court papers say.

“I can prove from my sources that his boyfriend has sent people after me,” a fidgety Hausner, sitting in Manhattan Criminal Court last night before his arraignment, said of Cooper.

The boyfriend, Benjamin Maisani, who owns an East Village gay bar, is also a victim, prosecutors say.

“He’s a thug and a mongrel,” Hausner seethed to a Post reporter of Maisani.

“They said I was not to be there — that’s not true,” Hausner ranted.

Hausner, who wore ripped jeans and a black T-shirt featuring the X-Men was ordered held in lieu of $75,000 bail on felony first-degree menacing, and misdemeanor harassment and stalking.

“He was told on numerous occasions not to call” Cooper, Assistant DA Rachel Ehrhardt said in court.

On June 22, Hausner “showed up at Anderson Cooper’s house, and he was told that he did not have permission to be at that location,” the prosecutor said.

Hausner has prior felony and misdemeanor convictions, she said.

“He was a radical — he believed in his [Jewish] religion, and he believed in the one race, the white race,” an ex-neighbor at Hausner’s SRO told The Post last night.

Cooper’s legal representative, Jason Berland, declined comment.

Cooper, who is the son of Gloria Vanderbilt, purchased the 8,000-square-foot, landmark, 1906 firehouse for $4.3 million — complete with brass fireman’s pole — three years ago.

We thought Wendy Williams called the shots on her show — but turns out her husband is pulling the strings.

On “The Wendy Williams Show,” she is a strong, confident woman who isn’t afraid of saying exactly what’s on her mind — even if it’s dissing Beyoncé. But off camera, her husband, Kevin Hunter, is the real boss, our source says.

“Kevin makes all the decisions and has become more and more controlling as the show has become a success,” one show insider tells Confidenti@l. “He insists that all show questions be run by him.”

Hunter has had Williams change her cell phone number so she is not as accessible to the many staffers on the show.

“He’s also hired her a new driver, who reports to him,” says our source.

Both Williams and Hunter, who formed the production company Wendy Williams Productions together, serve as executive producers on the show, which has been on the air since 2008.

Source says no one can understand why Wendy doesn't tell her husband to "f--- off."

Things have gotten so intense at the show that producers have been warned that all scripts must go to Hunter before Williams can even read them. And Hunter must approve all the ideas for segments and celebrity guest bookings.

“Wendy is smart. No one can understand why she does not tell him to f− off,” adds our source. “He is making everyone’s lives miserable and is causing problems on an otherwise great show.”

Our source adds that when Williams made her Broadway debut in “Chicago” this month, he sorted through all the cards and gifts sent to the show and gave her just a portion of them.

“He thinks she is being bothered and thinks he’s looking out for her, but Wendy loves her fans,” says our insider.

Hunter has taken heat for cheating on Williams — though she later publicly forgave him — and allegedly propositioning an employee on his wife’s old radio show.

Once asked during an interview with Bay Area radio station 94.9 about her relationship with her husband, Williams didn’t hold back.

“People will always, for the rest of my life, throw darts at my situation,” she said. “They will throw — and we explained this to our son — they will throw them at him, they’ve thrown them at me in my entire career, my husband. He knew what he was getting involved with, but it takes a special kind of man to be with a ‘Wendy Williams.’”

IT'S HERE! IT'S FINALLY HERE! Wendy Williams released a sneak peak of her new, remixed theme song and accompanying dance video earlier this summer, but the final cut has officially arrived. Williams decided to spice up her theme song and shimmy her way through Central Park in honor of "The Wendy Williams Show's" new season, which starts Monday, September 16.

The video basically starts with a girl who pushes a magical button in the middle of the park that causes dancers to appear out of no where.
But it's not really a party yet, because Wendy's not there. But then she appears!
And everyone is super happy about it.
    And scene!

Williams' daytime talk show has been renewed through 2017. The host is currently starring on Broadway as Matron Mama Morton in "Chicago: The Musical."

It wasn’t quite “the chop heard ’round the world” but fans are still abuzz about the battlefield footage from Thor: The Dark World (Nov. 8) that was shown at Comic-Con International last Saturday...

specifically the climactic moment when Loki’s sword appears to lop off the outstretched right hand of the staggering thunder god.

Franchise star Chris Hemsworthmissed the Hall H preview panel for the best of reasons (he’s in Hong Kong busy filming Cyber with director Michael Mann), but a few days later he still sounded disbelieving of the notion that 6,600 fans in Hall H had already watched final-stage footage of key scenes that he himself has yet to see.

“Is that the footage they showed?  I haven’t seen it yet. I’m trying to get hold of it somehow. I wish I could have been there. I can’t say too much more about it. But I will tell you that’s not the worst thing that he has to worry about along the way.”

If Thor does indeed lose his hand, he wouldn’t be the first hero to give their right hand a peaked moment of drama; there’s the Skywalker family, of course, as well as Ash Williams of the old Evil Dead films; the angry (or silly?) version of Aquaman; Captain Hook from Peter Pan; and David Tennant’s Time Lord from Doctor Who (although he just grew a new one).

Don’t worry, we haven’t forgotten Jaime Lannister, the feared swordsman of George R.R. Martin’s Song of Ice and Fire novels and played by Nikolaj Coster-Waldau on the HBO adaptation, Game of Thrones. Sir Jaime the Kingslayer lost his hand in an April episode that left fans gasping. (Sir Jamie’s torturer was a sadistic lord named Locke, which might be the High Valyrian translation of Loki?)

There’s a wide divide between the Kingslayer and the Odinson in the areas of ethics, morality and maximum bench press, but Sir Jaime and Thor do share traits — they are both blond warriors of legendary prowess, each shares blood with a king, and both try to keep an eye on his less physical but exceptionally conniving brother.

“That’s a good point, wow, that never struck me,” said Hemsworth, a fan of Thrones even before The Dark World director Alan Taylor emigrated from small-screen Westeros to big-screen Asgard. “There’s a strange parallel there.”

Time will tell if the severed hand of Thor represents a major Hollywood departure from the core Marvel Comics mythology of the hero or something less permanent.  But, with a winking tone, Hemsworth sounded like a viking soul as far as making the best of the situation. ”Maybe I will have to learn to use the hammer with the left hand, you know? Or I was thinking of maybe just attaching it. I could ram it straight down into the stump. That would be very Game of Thrones in approach.”

Meanwhile, Tuomas makes it clear he's an indecisive putz.

In a recent interview with Ghost Cult Magazine, former AFTER FOREVER frontwoman and current REVAMP vocalist Floor Jansen — who has been performing with Finnish symphonic metallers NIGHTWISH since last October as the band's touring singer — was asked if she would be willing to front NIGHTWISH permanently if she were asked to fill the slot.

"I've been asked to fill in for the current world tour and for a couple of festival dates, but what will happen after that is still unclear," she replied. "NIGHTWISH will take a break after the current touring cycle and they'll make a decision next year. Until then, everything is still up in the air."

She continued: "If they would ask me, I would be very flattered and I would love to do it. It will be a major overhaul in my life and my career as a singer, but then again, we're not rushing things.

"Both the guys in NIGHTWISH and I have experiences with previous band breakups and all emotions that come with it. It's almost like dating. Things feel good and it's going well, but we're not in a rush to tie the knot, so to speak."

Jansen made her live debut as the frontwoman of NIGHTWISH on October 1, 2012 at Showbox Sodo in Seattle, Washington following the abrupt departure of the band's lead singer of five years, Anette Olzon.

NIGHTWISH keyboardist and main songwriter Tuomas Holopainen has known Jansen for more than 10 years already, having previously toured with her former band, AFTER FOREVER.

Asked about the reasons for Olzon's sudden exit from the group, Tuomas told U.K.'s Metal Hammer magazine: "I'm sure it came as a shock to everybody. We came out with a statement [regarding the split], which pretty much says it all. It still is a private matter, and that's all we wanna say about it, like, ever. It was an amicable divorce, so to say, and made in good spirit, and we are just looking to the future. There really is no reason to go back into all the details and all that. I mean, this is not politics, this is a rock band."

Regarding whether there is a chance that Floor will become the official new NIGHTWISH lead singer, Tuomas said: "The way that we have decided is that we're gonna continue with her until the end of the festival season in 2013 — just have fun, just do the shows the best we can. I mean, the atmosphere in the band is so good at the moment, [we want to] just enjoy this what we have right now. They try not to think about NIGHTWISH at all for a few months. Everybody take a little vacation. And we already have the rehearsal place for the next album booked in 2014 — from July to September. So that's how far we have planned. But when we do the last festival show next August, after that, it's gonna be total nothing for a few months. So I would say everything is possible, but that's really not the thing that we want to be thinking about right now, because there's absolutely no reason to."

I just hope he says this non-committal shit for public consumption and because they just need to sort everything out. Tuomas is a lot of things but I never figured him for an idiot. He will not get a better singer short of making peace with Tarja and that will not happen.

The drama began on Monday, when R&B Supergroup TGT (Tyrese, Ginuwine, and Tank) appeared on WLNY‘s morning news show “The Couch,” to perform their new single from their upcoming album, 3 Kings. However, fans noticed something was wrong with the performance right off the bat as Ginuwine appeared to be fidgeting constantly and blinking wildly in his seat, and he continually seemed out of sync with his group mates, causing Tyrese to give him some unforgettable death stares. Tank nearly burst into laughter throughout the performance.Ginuwine starts tweaking out around 0.20 and Tyrese gives him a death glare at 0.24. in the video. A MESS ensues

According to Ginuwine, the cause for his awkward behavior was nothing more than an energy drink.

“It was 6 o’clock in the morning. I popped something, but it wasn’t any damn Molly!” Ginuwine explained, after he and his group made fun of his blinking. I popped a damn 5-Hour Energy Drink and I didn’t think it would do that to me,” Ginuwine explained

  • 07/28/13--20:49: Who ruled 90's radio?
  • Matchbox.20-band-1997
Oh, the '90s. You were a weird time (though not quite so weird as your younger brother, the '80s).

But we do look back on the '90s with a lot of fondness and, as we've noticed more and more, as much nostalgia for those years as we had for the '80s about a decade ago.

With late-'90s-era bands Sugar Ray, Smash Mouth, Gin Blossoms, Vertical Horizon and Fastball coming to Stir Cove on Friday, we started thinking about music in the '90s, which was dominated by both boy bands and grunge as well as Mariah Carey and Garth Brooks.

In the '90s, rock music was mostly dominated by grunge. Out with Poison, Ratt and other metal bands and in with distortion and flannel shirts.

Nirvana, Pearl Jam and Soundgarden are among Omahan Laura King-Homan's favorite bands, and they all were popular in the mid-'90s. “The music of the early to mid-'90s felt revolutionary, like you were in the middle of something important. Of course, I was in college, so everything felt that way,” she said. “You still see teenagers wearing Nirvana T-shirts today, which I think is awesome.”

Added Jared Bakewell of Omaha: “Pearl Jam was the '90s.”

Punk rock saw its biggest revival in the '90s with the popularity of bands such as Bad Religion, The Offspring, Rancid, Social Distrtion and, of course, Green Day. “Dookie,” the band's debut major-label effort, probably brought the most mainstream attention to punk rock.

    Boy Bands

If you're wondering whom to blame for One Direction and the Jonas Brothers, look to the '90s. During the second half of the decade, the boy bands reigned supreme on pop radio. N'Sync and Backstreet Boys led the charge, but others including 98 Degrees, All-4-One and Boyz II Men were all big-time groups.

Kristina Jackson of Lincoln loved the boy bands. Recently, she even went and saw New Kids on the Block and Backstreet Boys tour together, but her favorite was always N'Sync. Her favorite song: “'Bye Bye Bye,' of course,” she said. “The dance is so fun that they do in the video. Pretty much every time someone hears that song, they start to do the 'Bye Bye Bye' dance.”

    Electronic Music

According to Marq Manner, some of the best music of the '90s came out of the U.K. and Ireland, including Massive Attack. And the most innovative genre of the decade was electronic music. “By the mid-'90s, with groups like Underworld, Future Sound of London and Sven Vath maturing the sound and Chemical Brothers and Prodigy making it fun, I think it was the most innovative music of the '90s.”

Top 20 Pop Artists of the '90s

As determined by Billboard in its “1999: The Year in Music” issue, these are the top artists of the '90s, listed alongside their number of charting singles and albums.

    1. Mariah Carey (30)

    2. Janet Jackson (25)

    3. Garth Brooks (14)

    4. Boyz II Men (23)

    5. Celine Dion (23)
