  • Modern Family star Sarah Hyland had a kidney transplant in 2012. The kidney was donated by her father, Edward.

  • Sarah thought the CVS Pharmacy that was handling her prescription was open to 10 PM. However, they closed at 9.

  • Hyland tweeted the following message to CVS Pharmacy's twitter account: "Hey @cvspharmacy when you tell a kidney transplant recipient that her medication will be ready before you close and that you will notify her when it’s ready to be picked up. F–KING DO IT BEFORE YOU CLOSE. PEOPLE LIKE ME CANT AFFORD TO GO WITHOUT MEDICATION."

  • Some random on twitter then replied to Sarah with: "Or you could check to see what time they close like everyone else does." To which Sarah responded "Called at 9:02pm. They were closed. But yes you're right. I'm an idiot" while showing a screenshot of that specific CVS location's store hours (every day 7 AM-10 PM) as shown online.

  • CVS Pharmacy did reach out to her on Twitter, though.

  • Sarah posted a video explaining her situation. She needed an antibiotic as she couldn't see the doctor yet. If her infection was not treated soon, she would need dialysis.

  • In a second video, Hyland said: "I would also like to say for everyone else who has dealt with CVS problems, I feel your pain. Thank you so much for reaching out and telling me yours so that I don’t feel like a crazy person. You guys are sweet and awesome. I’m also just in a bad mood because I’m in a lot of pain. So call me a b-tch, I really don’t f-cking care.”

- In a post on her website, Catt Sadler announced she is leaving E! News after 12 years of working for the network after learning that her male colleague, Jason Kennedy, was making double her salary for the same job for the past several years
- In addition to being a single mother of two, Saddler also took on the two-hour live daytime show Daily Pop for the network while still doing E! News every night
- Several celebrities, including Jessica Chastain, Jennifer Lawrence, and Olivia Munn have tweeted support for Saddler while criticizing E!'s decision
- In the post, Saddler questions "How can I operate with integrity and stay on at E if they’re not willing to pay me the same as him? Or at least come close? How can I accept an offer that shows they do not value my contributions and paralleled dedication all these years? How can I not echo the actions of my heroes and stand for what is right no matter what the cost? How can I remain silent when my rights under the law have been violated?"
- E! responded with the following statement: "E! compensates employees fairly and appropriately based on their roles, regardless of gender. We appreciate Catt Sadler’s many contributions at E! News and wish her all the best following her decision to leave the network.”

Olympic gymnast McKayla Maroney filed suit against Michigan State University, the United States Olympic Committee and USA Gymnastics claiming the organizations tried to keep her from speaking out about the "depraved, repeated, and serial sexual abuse and molestations" she suffered as a teenager from team doctor Larry Nassar.

The gold medalist alleges she signed a non-disclosure agreement as part of a financial settlement to keep her from speaking out about Nassar.

Sources familiar with the deals say Maroney received $1.25 million last winter.

Another New Trailer for Riverdale's Midseason Premiere + Does Riverdale Have Room for Black Girls?

$

This trailer has some new footage not seen in previously posted trailers, including:
-Reggie and Cheryl teaming up for something
-Cheryl and Penelope at (presumably) Jason's grave
-The Riverdale boys' wrestling team's extremely revealing uniforms
-Glimpses of Archie and Hiram's feud
-Plus the return of Nick St. Clair

-In OP's further quest to dissect the highly problematic show that he loves but should probably quit watching soon, this article has come to light showcasing Riverdale's issues with Black female representation
-Riverdale did a great thing changing Josie and the Pussycats to an all-Black girl group, but shafts main cast member Ashleigh Murray (Josie) when it comes to real storylines
-Had a large(r) story-line solely in eps 1x06 and 2x07
-Despite her ambitious nature, Josie has also often been portrayed as catty and unfriendly, perpetuating the stereotype that "if a Black woman is confident, she can’t be friendly too"
-Too often are the Pussycats joined on stage by guest performers (Archie, Veronica, Cheryl) and not given the chance to shine as the Black girl group that they are, further perpetuating a notion that Black performers have to "share the spotlight" to gain recognition

With a "shift" in storylines near-to-come for the second half of season two, can Riverdale rectify its issues with Josie's representation and give more screen time to her and the other Pussycats? Will the writing ever get better?

Fans petition to have "The Last Jedi" removed from canon

$

  • The Last Jedi is, officially the most divisive Star Wars film to date. Yes, even counting the prequels.

  • Butthurt fans are campaigning to have The Last Jedi removed from the Star Wars canon. Personally I see no point to it, because then we wouldn't have Leia and Amilyn being BAMF's. Also...they already ruined things by removing The Star Wars Holiday Special from canon, so...why?

  • "Star Wars has long been a story about two things, the Jedi and Luke Skywalker," Walsh wrote. "After over 260 novels where we could follow the adventures of that great hero you, the Walt Disney Company decided to strike all of that from the official canon and wiped out three decades of lore. We were excited to see Episode VII to see how our heroes lives turned out since you took away what we knew. We saw the death of Han Solo, we saw less than a minute of Luke Skywalker."
