Elton John interviews Eminem on his upcoming album Revival. They discuss his writing process, sobriety, Donald Trump, the cypher, and why he likes to stay away from the spotlight



On Donald Trump: It was about having the right to stand up to oppression. I mean, that’s exactly what the people in the military and the people who have given their lives for this country have fought for—for everybody to have a voice and to protest injustices and speak out against shit that’s wrong. We’re not trying to disrespect the military, we’re not trying to disrespect the flag, we’re not trying to disrespect our country. But shit is going on that we want to make you aware of. We have a president who does not care about everybody in our country; he is not the president for all of us, he is the president for some of us. He knows what he’s doing.

As long as he’s got his base, he does not give a fuck about anybody else in America. But guess what? There’s more of us than there are of them. I still feel like America is the greatest country to live in. This is my opinion. But we have issues that we need to work on and we need to do better.

On the cypher: He explains the original idea for the cypher was to do it acappela at the BET awards but it didn't work out. He wrote it and memorized prior to the cypher.

On Staying out of the spotlight: he believes that the more you stay out of the spotlight the better. "And I realize that some people see going away as, “Oh, he’s irrelevant now,” but I feel like if I don’t go away, I get sick of myself. It’s never been my thing to be in the spotlight all the time."

On June 27, 1976, four hijackers take over an Air France flight from Israel to Paris and force the plane to land at Entebbe Airport in Uganda. The militants threaten to kill passengers unless dozens of Palestinian resistance fighters held in Israel are released.

Daniel Brühl and Rosamund Pike play members of a radical West German group who carried out the hijacking along with Palestinian revolutionaries. The cast also includes Eddie Marsan as Shimon Peres, Israel’s defense minister at the time and later its president and prime minister.

Rachael Denhollander, Aly Raisman, and McKayla Maroney make statements on Larry Nassar

Rachael Denhollander was the first person to publicly speak out about Larry Nassar in September 2016. She and 2000 Olympic bronze medalist, Jamie Dantzscher who was still anonymous at time, were the only accusers at the time and there were still many gymnasts, coaches, parents of gymnasts, etc. supporting Nassar. Since then over 140 gymnasts have filed lawsuits or come out against Nassar. Today, Nassar was sentenced to 60 years in prison for posessing child pornography. After the sentence, Rachael spoke on air about how USA Gymnastics and Michigan State University were complicit.

Aly Raisman, 6x Olympic medalist and the captain of the Fierce Five and Final Five teams that won gold in 2012 and 2016, publicly came out as one of Nassar's survivors last month. None of Nassar's survivors were allowed to speak out against him in court, so Aly shared her powerful statement she had prepared through The Players' Tribune. She details how she's now untrusting of even female doctors because she's afraid that something might happen even with the best doctors because she was told Nassar was the best doctor, wasn't able to undergo treatments gymnasts need like massages because of the distrust, is afraid of being alone with any men in a room, developed anxiety and ended up unconscious due to a bad reaction to anxiety and sleeping medication and can no longer take any medication recommended by her doctor to cope because of the trauma from her bad reaction to the previous medication, and how her friendship with another one of Nassar's survivors suffered because she reminds her friend too much of the trauma they had to go through together.
2x World Vault Champion and 2x Olympic medalist, McKayla Maroney, had already been part of those that anonymously sued Nassar and USAG, but she publicly came out as one of Nassar's survivors in October following the #MeToo movement. Before Nassar's sentencing, McKayla and her mom, Erin, sent a letter to the judge and court asking for the maximum sentence for Nassar. The letter details the extent of Nassar's abuse, how McKayla became depressed and suicidal, and how if USAG and MSU didn't ignore complaints about Nassar dating back to 20 years ago, McKayla would have never even met Nassar.

Have fun rotting in prison, Nassar! Everyone complicit at MSU and USAG needs to be fired and join him. Also, I was really happy that TIME chose the Silence Breakers as POTY 2017, but there were no mentions of any of the gymnasts that came out against Nassar in the article and I wish they had been included as well.

  • A fan asked him what his favorite creature was to hunt. She attached a photo of her latest kill, a deer.
  • Chris replied: “I like it all but it’s hard to beat a good elk hunt. Congrats on your deer!👍🏼.”

  • Someone tweeted at him: "2017 and people still hunt? STILL?? Literally how."
  • In response to criticism of his love of recreational "sport" hunting, he tweeted-and-deleted: "Literally? People hunt by using modern firearm, archery or muzzle loading equipment.There’s an application process for licenses and tags which are available only during short, strictly enforced seasons. One must complete a hunter’s safety test to be eligible. I hope this helps. "

Starbucks is introducing a limited "Christmas Tree" Frappucino today. It will be available in stores in the US and Canada until Monday! Get festive!

The festive frap is a Peppermint Mocha Crème Frappuccino, topped with Matcha whipped cream, which is supposed to look like a Christmas tree. The tree is topped with caramel drizzle, candied cranberries as ornaments, and is topped with a strawberry.

Taylord Swift has been pretty consistent on being apolitical.

Swift is an anomaly in an industry which most of her peers are eager to distance themselves from Trump, and thus many see her refusal to condemn him as a tacit approval. Even country stars Brad Paisley and Carrie Underwood mocked Trump at the CMAs.

"Whether pop stars like it or not, these days all culture has become politicized,” says Shaun Cullen, who teaches about contemporary culture and popular music at Middle Tennessee State University.

-Once praised Michelle Obama and supported gay rights and feminism, but only in recent years, once the cultural tide had firmly shifted.

-Article brings up her lawyer's threats against popblogs for pointing out the alt-right's praise of their aryan princess.

Bryan Singer Sued For Alleged 2003 Sexual Assault Of Teen

- Bryan Singer, known best as the director of the X-Men films, is being sued for allegedly forcing a 17-year-old boy to perform oral sex on him and then raping him
- According to the lawsuit, Singer was on a yacht in Washington State around 2003 at a party populated by young gay males. Singer then invited the 17 year old teen to a secluded back room and allegedly assaulted him. The yacht was owned by Leslie Waters who is known for hosting parties for young gay males in the Seattle area.
- Afterwards, he told the boy, Cesar Sanchez-Guzman, that he could help him get into acting as long as Cesar never said anything about the incident
-Singer made headlines earlier this week after he was fired from directing the Queen biopic after on-set chaos
Singer's Rep's Statement:
"The lawsuit was filed by the same lawyer who represented Michael Egan. Those claims were dismissed by Egan himself, and he later went to Federal prison for lying in a fraud case."

Dragula Episode 6: Gothic Wedding

This week on Dragula, the ghouls were challenged to imagine their dream wedding, and come out as emo/gothic brides. As part of the challenge, they performed a lipsync to Gutter Glitter by The Switchblade Sympony, and they also had to incorporate a fan from one of the show's sponsors. Two of the five were safe, and three were up for elimination.




Abhora finally got her long-deserved win but with a twist: Drac disagreed about her performance, so she was also put in the bottom and had to compete in the extermination challenge. Thankfully, she made it through.

Safe were Biqtch Puddin' and Victoria Black (for some reason).




Disasterina went home!! :( She wasn't listening to the judges' critiques and didn't have a good attitude in the extermination challenge.



i loved this ep, mostly for Abhorra. i really want her to win, but i have a feeling it's going to be Biqtch.
