Iconic Simpsons Episode, Mr. Plow, Turns 25

The episode, which is all about Homer buying a snow plow, was born from one writer's wish to meet Adam West. "I wanted to do a winter episode, and then it occurred to me that if Homer bough a snow plow, we could have him go to the car show, and Adam West could be at the car show, and I could meet Adam West," said writer Jon Vitti. The cast and writers were very enthusiastic about meeting West, and it was a great experience for everyone. West's daughter says it was a milestone of his career since it introduced him to a new generation of fans.

The words to the catchy jingle were initially written as placeholder lyrics in the original draft, but it was apparently so bad that they left it to be in the actual episode.

Singer Linda Ronstadt, is also featured in the episode, but they had to fly to San Francisco to record her voicework. Apparently, she's wearing a mariachi inspired outfit in her commercial with Barney.

Simone Biles calls out Gabby Douglas for victim blaming Aly Raisman

After coming out as one of the 130 gymnasts that were abused by USA gymnastics team doctor, Larry Nassar, Aly Raisman posted that women wearing sexy clothes doesn't give men the right to abuse them. Her teammate on both the 2012 and 2016 Olympic team, Gabby Douglas tweeted and deleted that it's a woman's responsibility to dress modestly and not entice the wrong crowd. Their teammate on the 2016 Olympic team, Simone Biles, screencapped it and called Gabby out and supported Aly and all women who are victims of sexual abuse. Gabby continued to make excuses when called out.

Justice League is heading for a disappointing $95 million box office opening

Early projections at the start of the weekend put Justice League at $110-115m, but looks like now it won't even be able to hit $100m. It earned $13m in Thursday previews and is projected to hit $95-97m by the end of the weekend. That would make it the lowest opening for a DCEU film. Justice League cost $300 million to produce.

Julia Roberts'"Wonder" is doing amazingly well with current projections putting it at $20-25m. It was originally projected to do $9m at earlier this week.

Thor: Ragnarok is projected to do $30m+ in its third weekend.

CBS has given full season order to procedural drama S.W.A.T. starring Shemar Moore, bringing its total episode order to 20.
Critically panned comedy 9JKL starring Mark Feuerstein also got 3 more episodes, capping out its season at 16 episodes.

- Hilarie Burton struggled with Mark's desire to sexualise her character.
- Mark decided around season three that she was his 'Muse'.
- Forced himself on her twice, kissing her on the mouth against her will. Also touched her inappropriately in the presence of his wife.
- Pushed her to the forefront of the show and positioned himself as a 'mentor'. Later realises she was being groomed as 'bait'.
- Encouraged new female actresses to befriend Hilarie so that he could draw them into his 'orbit'.
- Pitted the women against each other, was verbally abusive, and spread false rumours about relationships he claimed to have with female cast members. (One of them being Danneel)
- A former writer, Michelle Furtney-Goodman, said that he 'forced her head down between his knees, balanced a soda can on her head, and joked about her peforiming oral sex'.
- Anonymous actress said she had to push him away after he pulled her between his thighs. This happened in front of crew.
- One anonymous actress told him to stop touching women and he threatened her job. Hilarie told him to stop touching her when they were filming in Texas, and he later screamed at her for half an hour.
- Stood outside Danneel's apartment for hours during season 5 and would not leave, until she threatened to call police.
- Hilarie stated the experience had a negative impact on her career, as she was too afraid to audition for showrunners that she didn't know or be locked into a long-term contract.
- Mark Schwahn still hasn't commented.

FIONA APPLE comes for Trump's wig re: Keystone Pipeline Leak

Fiona Apple is rightfully furious at the most recent oil spill where TransCanada's Keystone 1 pipeline leaked 210,000 gallons of oil (that's 795,000 litres) onto agricultural land in Amherst, SD. Since of course there is a tweet for everything, Fiona addresses a particular one he made in 2015 rebuking superior president Obama's rejection of the Keystone XL project (which Trump has since green-lit).



Fiona has previously performed her anti-TrumpChristmas carol at a Standing Rock benefit concert.
She also released a "Tiny Hands" chant for the Women's March.












• TransCanada said it has contained the leak, emergency response underway for clean up, and is investigating the cause.
• The last time it spilled 400 barrels of oil, it took around 10 months to clean up. That's significantly smaller than 210K.
• Pipeline will be shut until it gets approval to restart from the U.S. Pipeline and Hazardous Materials Safety Administration.
• Spill comes just days before Nebraska will decide on permits for the Keystone XL line.
• Keystone leak won't affect Nebraska ruling because regulators can't consider pipeline safety.
• The spill was 15 miles west of the Sisseton-Wahpeton Nation in NE South Dakota.
• The native American tribe is concerned about environmental impact, and if their water source will be contaminated.
• They offer their assistance in cleanup even though they oppose the pipeline.
• When water protectors fought for our clean water (#NoDAPL, #NoKXL), they had the national guard activated against them, were shot at, were sprayed with water cannons in below freezing weather, arrested and put in cages, had attack dogs unleashed on them, and still have ridiculous charges against them.
• Pipeline developers are silencing and punishing protesters even suing groups like Greenpeace & Earth First for $300 million.
• Indigenous-led groups are still fighting. #DivestTheGlobe protests are urging banks to cut ties with fossil fuels and having success.
• They were also very loud and active at the most recent climate conference #COP23, where the Trump sent officials to praise fossil fuels!!
• Side note: Senate has moved forward with legislation that opens up the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge to oil drilling.

- Ryan Seacrest publicly denied a claim of sexual harassment before it went public. According to Ryan, a wardrobe stylist complained that Ryan acted inappropriately with her ten years ago. He apologizes if he made her feel anything "less than respected".
- According to a source, the accuser wanted a "substantial amount" of money to keep quiet. Ryan called the allegations "reckless" and that he's "distraught". He calls himself an advocate for women (no thanks) and will continue to support their voices (no thanks).

-The show returns Jan 18, 2018 with the last 11 episodes of the series.
- Quinn (played by Katie Lowes) appears to be dead (But she ain't, lbr. She was about to pop so she was written out for a bit) courtesy of papa pope as she bid her farewell on Twitter last night. The rest of the cast, and show creator shonda, tweeted that they all missed Katie on set.

Taylor Swift's tribute album 'reputation' is now getting an official vinyl release, first as a Barnes & Noble exclusive. The promo photos make it seem as if it is a picture disc, forever immortalizing the hideous album art. The package is available on December 8th at B&N, with the rest of the world being able to purchase the LP a week later, on the 15th.  There is no word yet on how many copies Taylor wants you to purchase, or if there are any collectable posters available inside.

Mariah Carey: "All I want for Christmas is peace and harmony"

Best-selling singer-songwriter whose music has literally saved lives Mariah Carey sat down for an interview, recently published in the November issue of Hollywood Reporter magazine, in which she discussed her new Christmas song "The Star," the title song to Columbia Pictures' animated film about the birth of Jesus Christ, told from the point of view of the animals in the manger. (Oprah Winfrey, Tyler Perry and Tracy Morgan voice the Wise Men's camels.)

"The Star" inclues the voices of Carey's twin six-year old twins Moroccan and Monroe, and Carey described singing The Star live for the first time in front of Golden Globe reporters:

"I am not accustomed to waking up early and putting on a performance. And this was the first time I had performed the song live — with my kids there. But they did a great job. I was so proud."

When the interviewer mentioned that Carey had "won five Grammys but not yet won an Oscar or Golden Globe," she corrected him:"

Actually, the song I sang with Whitney Houston, 'When You Believe' for The Prince of Egypt, won the Oscar for best song."

She likened "When You Believe" to "The Star," both "faith-based" songs.

Despite penning another Christmas song to add alongside her two best-selling Christmas albums from 1994 and 2010, Carey rejected the title of "Queen of Christmas":

"I just don't think I deserve it. I'm just a person who likes Christmas, OK? Who happened to write some songs.

Carey described where her "festive" traditions stem from:

"I've always loved Christmas. Even though we didn't have a lot of material things, like money, my mom would always make it festive. She would wrap up, like, some fruit and sign the card from the dog or the cat. Just to have something to open up. Because I grew up in New York, sometimes we had snow at Christmas. Now I try to create this magical moment with Christmas where Santa Claus comes, and it's in Aspen."

Carey also expressed solidarity with the victims of sexual harassment that have come forward in recent weeks to name their abusers:

"First, I have to say everybody is being very courageous in these circumstances and so it’s a tip of the hat to them. They are brave. And yeah, these are some very strong women and it’s something to be admired. Of course, we hope things change and we hope that people don’t have to go through these things anymore. Does it bring up anything from my own life? Yeah. But I’m not going to make it all about me. I throw my support toward those women who have come forward. And in an earnest way, from my heart."

Carey closed the interview on a hopeful note.

Q: What do you want for Christmas this year?

A: Peace and harmony. Can we have that?

Q: I don't know. Can we?

A: Let's hope for the best.
